Newbie questions

Hello.
I have recently bought a HTC Touch Diamond from Vodafone that came with ROM v1.93.479.3 WWE & Radio v1.00.25.05. There is no Vodafone 'brand' on it and no changes to the ROM as I have seen to other Vodafone users. My questions exactly are:
- How do I know if my device is CID locked?
- Will installing another ROM void my waranty?
- I have seen topics about.. bricking the device. What does that mean exactly and how can I prevent it.

As I know all deviced from manufaturer at CID locked. Unlocked CID Security enable u to flash your device with different radio from another device.
In order to install a cooked rom, your device must be Hard-SPL first, i think our developers has patch for both GSM and CDMA device. so please search the forum.
I think the best way to prevent bricking your device would be LOTS OF READING.

SIM Unlock and new ROM

Hi there
I've buyed a Diamond locked by orange. Now I like to unlock it and install a custom rom.
I was going through the forum but I found too much and different articels that I decided to create a new thread.
So the question is:
What do I have to do to get my sim-locked phone ready for flashing a custom rom?

You DO NOT need to SIM unlock your phone to use a custom ROM.
You DO need to install HardSPL to your phone before you can use custom ROM, you only need to HardSPL once.
There is much information in the sticks posts at the top of the ROM section that will tell all you need to know about HardSPL and ROM flashing.

Here's additional NOOP question. Do you need to CID unlock the Diamond AND HardSPL to use cooked ROM's? Or is HardSPL enough?

If you mean, do you have to change the CID, the answer is no as HardSPL means that CID is not checked.

i downloaded many 6.5 roms but it didnt work
i followed method of renaming ruu to arteimg & flashing frm bootloader

its to cid unlock the phone, you have to do it every time you flash
if you have mac it doesnt work

After searching for too long on internet to find a RUU file matching with my HTC 10 s OS number, I ask for some help...
I am looking for a RUU file that can be used with my OS number : 1.95.89.3...can anyone help me please ?..

S-off, use any ruu you like. Why not unbrand it and go for wwe 2.41.401 and update from there.
And post questions in the Q&A section, this is the guides section
