Well, wouldnt we all like to know that, unfortunatly no one seems to know, people are working on that.
ROM backup.
Hi,
You can backup ROM, if you wish with new itsme utilities.
But it will be no use for it, because when you flash, SPL checks for digital certificate of the ROM. If it is not there, flashing won't work.
To summarize-no practical use of backed up ROM.

backup: sleuths first derivative over v3G's ?

hi all
please, a quick backup question as I am a still ma bit confused ....
with sbp, the builds have to be the same to transfer data via card backups right?
I FOR EXAMPLE HAVE V3g's variation and want to contrast it with sleuth's very fast first derivative.... can I hard reset and superimpose that backup?
Thanks for any replys and all patiencet
it should work, as the ROM base is the same. Why not try it and let us know?
It will work, however it will also restore any registry tweaks cooked into the source ROM.
yes, it does seem to work fine.......and I must say Sleuths 1st derivative just zips..faster than any of em for me.

Sprite Backup is what you are looking for.
http://www.spritesoftware.com/sprite-backup
You can try it out for free. Use Device Upgrade option to restore to a WM6 rom.
As far as i know spritebackup does not do a ROM backup.
We have it and i did not see such possibility.
I was thinking more to dump ROM and modify nb files to create my own ROM after....
to customize it for our company and to flash it on every hermes laters on.

yaa im looking for the same thing
cus if i don't like WM6 i wan't to go back to WM5
WM5 Backup
Mr. Vanx has a walkthrough on how to downgrade from WM6 to WM5. It is pretty easy. http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=41&Itemid=27
And your current ROM is probably somewhere in here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades.
So, use Sprite Backup and Mr. Vanx's tutorial and you can go back to your current state.
Aye, you could either 'dump' the current ROM using some of the many tools available here or just do as Larsuck suggests and just go ahead with your ROM change but download a copy of your original ROM before you start, just so you know you've got it safe.
As far as I know, most or all legit ROMs are freely downloadable.

Backup original ROM

Hi All,
I've just bought an Artemis with original hungarian WM5.0 installed on it. I want to replace the OS to WM6.1 but before that, I'd like to backup the original ROM. I could not find a topic here on the steps of backing up a rom or what software is needed to do this operation.
If anybody can help me that would be greatly appreciated.
Attila
I'd be interested in this too for my XDA Oribt - anyone?
I'm looking for the same thing!!!!
Hi!
Segiteni ebben ugyan nem tudok de ha gondolod a magyar rom-ot feldobhatnad ide! Szivesen kiprobalnam de talalni lehetetlen. Koszi
i don't know about a software can do that
cuz if u take a back up of a room then restore it in another version it will not work
the only way i know of it is to back up the rom with a software like sprite backup and if you want it back u
flash the orignal rom again and then restore it

LG KS20 backup ROM

Hello everyone
First I want to give felicitations for the best forum ever to help everyone.
Now i have a unbranded lg ks20, and i want to try the rom with windows 6.5. But the rom that i have is in Portuguese and i want to have it in backup (if i don't like wM 6.5 i want to change it).
But i cannot find nothing that shows the way to backup my entire ROM.
Then i will use this guide. I think is very complete.

Can anyone help me with the backup?

Please can anyone help me.
I only need the way to make a backup of my actual ROM
Joao Machado
You can't find because it's not possible to make a full backup of the rom.
Since I haven't seen a portuguese stock rom to flash back to, if you flash, you won't be able to get back to your native's language rom.
Hello and thanks for your reply.
But Today i find the way to dump rom of lg ks 20. Majorasshole this are not the files that i need to flash again to use the old ROM?

Thank you for your help
Joao Machado
It's a one shot dump, but with no possibility to reflash with the dump.
Moreover, you won't have any advantage to get back to you stock rom apart native language (if you are able to undertand everything on XDA, I guess WWE is not a real problem for you) as good keyboards with Pourtuguese T9 exist for FB or Spocky's roms, and in any case, you will have to backup and restore your datas (the dump won't backup your datas and apps).
