Well, wouldnt we all like to know that, unfortunatly no one seems to know, people are working on that.

ROM backup.
Hi,
You can backup ROM, if you wish with new itsme utilities.
But it will be no use for it, because when you flash, SPL checks for digital certificate of the ROM. If it is not there, flashing won't work.
To summarize-no practical use of backed up ROM.

If you only flash OS, no problem. If you have hard-spl installed your device will be almost unbrickable.
With a new Hard Spl, I can restore an old ROM?

can you explain me what hard-spl is ?
My question here is, will original ROM restore the splashscreen and initial bootscreen that was changed by LVSW?
So many questions

You can usually restore an old ROM even without Hard-SPL. It makes it a little easier because you can flash even ROMs that are not intended for your device (for example HTC Rom to Vodafone Compact GPS).

Sure. It is a replacement bootloader made by DES and later by Olipro. You'll find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1239088
LVSW offers it as a download as well, I don't know why he didn't include it in the update itself (nbh).

Yes, original ROM updates are what I call full updates: Bootloader, Splashscreens, OS, Radio. However they will only overwrite Olipro's Hard-SPL if you use Soft-SPL (sspl) for flashing. Keep that in mind if you want to send your device in for warranty repairs...
Enough noob questions answered For details use search, its not hard.
OK OK one more thing...
If I flash from mun_rus rom back to WM05 and take device for warranty... thay will not accept it?
If you flash it properly (load SSPL first, then run official update) they will have no way of telling the difference.
Obviously this only works if you have access to the official full update.

If your phone is the S300+ (SFR version of Trinity) it's gonna be hard. No SFR ROM is available yet. So you can find the OS part over here and you can save your extended ROM, but it seems to be hard to restore exactly as the same.
I`m just asking out of couriosity...
Flashed to muns SE rom works like a charm...

Sprite Backup is what you are looking for.
http://www.spritesoftware.com/sprite-backup
You can try it out for free. Use Device Upgrade option to restore to a WM6 rom.
As far as i know spritebackup does not do a ROM backup.
We have it and i did not see such possibility.
I was thinking more to dump ROM and modify nb files to create my own ROM after....
to customize it for our company and to flash it on every hermes laters on.

yaa im looking for the same thing
cus if i don't like WM6 i wan't to go back to WM5
WM5 Backup
Mr. Vanx has a walkthrough on how to downgrade from WM6 to WM5. It is pretty easy. http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=41&Itemid=27
And your current ROM is probably somewhere in here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades.
So, use Sprite Backup and Mr. Vanx's tutorial and you can go back to your current state.
Aye, you could either 'dump' the current ROM using some of the many tools available here or just do as Larsuck suggests and just go ahead with your ROM change but download a copy of your original ROM before you start, just so you know you've got it safe.
As far as I know, most or all legit ROMs are freely downloadable.
i don't see Rogers rom there so i still need help dumping mine

I think there are dumped o2 roms for the diamond on this forum just search it. If the apps came installed on the phone then the dumped roms have this too. So just search before you dump.

1. There is no "best" ROM, the best way is to test severals till you get the perfect for your needs, however I can recomment Tomal ROM´s
2.- As far as I know there is no way to backup apps, but you can easyly re install them on your new ROM, you won´t loose any license key
Read the Wiki to learn how to succesfully flash a ROM
Good luck,
