Hello Friends,
I have an O2 Atom device, which I recently picked up not even a month. I have tried to change the SIM card. When I switched it on again, Windows Mobile 5.0 startup screen came up and a white line dividing the screen into two and everything becomes white and goes into hang. I reset restart my device, and now it does not start all all.
Tried hard resetting the device by pressing on/off button + reset + call receive(green) + call end (red) button as suggested by O2 technical support, still nothing happens.
I have downloaed the latest patch, do not know how to install. Could you please help. Is it possible to flash the device without connecting to ActiveSync.
Please help, i am in a big problem , as I have lost all my contacts.
Please ..please..help.
Thanks in advance

Another Idea?
Power+light+reset = bootloader mode as already posted. It does not light up though, you can only see the bootloader screen if you look at it in bright sunlight or shine a light at it. Try charging it overnight the press power+light+reset, connect it to your PC then run the upgrade. If it really isn't going into bootloader mode then you will probably need to send it off for repair to vodafone.
i just had exactly the same problem, even the pc does not recognize it at all, activesync doent work, what to do please

How it can happen? If device worked before u start upgrading maybe u battery is low. Try to charge it somehow even not fully and continue upgrading via bootloader screen.

Shalom tabasco, well not really, i had it like that for a week, i evenhad it on charge for almost 3 days, the screen came at one point when i upgraded a rom, but the screen had a funy colour and it was stuck in bootloader, done all reset you can imagin, i even rand O2 to collect it for repair
seems to me that I created a problem for myself too. Can't escape bootloader mode. This 3 stages runs fine, but after final 100% CE screen, when I doing hard reset, writes "Clearing now" and goes back to bootloader screen  How to make him alive? I even did short on backup battery (opened back cover), but nothing effective
ok ok i pressed several times buttons which activates bootloader and it comes to normal activity. Was it a joke or something else ?
Good for you
Did u try to do as given here? http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Instructions for those stuck on Boot Screen - do all this, maybe it will solve. Be ezrat ashem
But anyway I'll going to make him swallow this new ROM from T-Mobile, but later, not at work...
hi,
did you solve your problem yet ?
dear friends ,
my phone has shut down and only when you take out the battery and put it back in after which you press any button on the phone it comes on and shows the htc logo after which it displays the following
ipl 3.07.001
spl 3.07.000
gsm 02.69.90
os 3.7.0.0
remains on for about 5-6 seconds and goes off
have tried to enter the boot loader mode by pressing the record button and reset button but it continous to behave in the same manner as mentioned above .
also when i try to charge the phone it shows only a red light
hoping someone can offer a solution to my problem
thanks and regards
I'd also be interested to know about this as my MDA Compact III has just done exactly the same thing.
have you guys tried flashing...that could kill it if not done propertly....but i doubt, the led is on,splash screen appears...info appears...what were last few things you did
according to spl os and ipl you flashed artemis touch 4.02 if i'm not wrong...or maybe tom's v5...try reflashing the same rom or just try a hardreset
Interesting...I've recently flashed the same ROM (v4.02)
I am certain I followed all the instructions about USPL and its been working fine for about a week...then it just went blank!
Will try re-flashing and/or a hard reset.
Thanks for the advice.

dear friends,
took the device in for repairs the fault was with the power circuit board which had to be changed as`informed to me by the technician
i now remember a few months ago the power button stopped working and a few days before the phone went bad it would work intermittently but there was no spring in the button hence it would have to be pressed quite hard for it to work i feel that this loose power button caused the power circuit to fail also my sd card was spoilt and the same had to be replaced
cast me appx in usd 30 for the repairs
thanks
EDIT: I fixed it!!
I ran into a very old thread here....
I entered the bootloader and I flashed an official rom, after I downloaded it
I will keep this rom as a security from now on!

Hi everyone,
I have been enjoying all the roms you all gave to use many many years now.
Also I have been able to flash them without any problems....However this morning.... I was flasing a new version and during the flashing I knocked my phone of my usb-cable..... OUCH....
I am now trying to find a way to rectify this again, because now it will not boot, not recover, no nothing.
When I am in bootloader I cannot flash any roms (I have tried 7 different roms)
My Artemis P3300 is fully unlocked, but I cannot connect to active sync, nothing.
Will someone please guide me in how I can recover my phone and flash a rom again?
Can't do anything anymore, other then enter the bootloader, but flashing any rom will abort after 3%
Please be so kind as to help me out.
Thank you very much
Gianna xxx

repair frozen wm/ppc & flash rom again
just press the voice command & power button together[/B] and keeping the two button pressed together press the reset button together and then leave the reset button but continue keep pressing the voice dial & power button until the 4 band / 3 band colour mode appears.
( the reset button is found in a very small hole / but be careful , donot get confused with the microphone hole ).
when this 4 band / 3 band colour appears connect the active sync wire an connect to the computer.
you can find that in the mobile screen it will appear as usb.
i have really recovered my frozen htc p3300/ dopod p800 w
really thanks to xda developers... they are really genious/marvellous..
they can really do any thing ... three cheers to them.
hats off to them.
Hello, this is my first post here. I tried to install Windows Mobile 6.5 as indicated in Gizmodo http://gizmodo.com/5281397/how-to-install-windows-mobile-65-right-now but it didn't work and now my phone won't boot.
The phone is an HTC Touch Diamond from Sprint. I followed all the steps indicated and everything look fine, but after installing the OS the phone displays the screen TOUCH DIAMOND, and then restarts and displays the same thing. I'm able to get into the boot loader (Tri color screen) and says:
DIAM500
SPL-0.57.CMONEX
MicroP-Diam (LED) vB
PSOC-Diam STAGE_EVT v20.
I don't know what to do now
Thanks
try to load back to default setting by pressing the power on button at the top of the phone, before the "Touch Diamond" logo come up, press and hold volume down button and the center button until the three color screen come out, then release the two button you are pressing..
if the problem still happen, that mean the rom you are using should have risk on it..
give it up and try other rom or flash it again..
hope my suggestion can help you solve the problem..
dont worry.
if bootloader is possible as you write
than you can flash all time orig. rom back.
Flash from Olinex 1.40 screen?

Hi I have the same issue on my HTC Diamond. I flashed wm 6.5 and it was working fine, then it hanged on titanum weather. I reset and it stayed on the HTC Diamond page, I did hard reset and got the Olinex 1.40 3 color page. It does respond from serial to usb when I plug/unplug. Can I reflash without active sync?
Turns out I was able to flash, but both roms I tried work well on 1st install, but stay stuck on the Touch Diamond screen everytime I restart de device. Is it a problem with the radio not compatible , or is there a specific Hspl for each ROM???
I found solution for this problem. If your diamond won't boot go to bootloader mode and upgrade your radio http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=26 and after that your dimond worked fine without loosing data.
try to hard reset the phone by pressing vol down key + the center button + reset button.
if the problem is still like dat..
try to install another rom..

Thanks davidwong007 for your help, I was experiencing the same issue as op and your method did the trick. For a minute there I thought I had bricked my HTC Touch. I did step by step what you suggested and ended up in the rainbox screen, once I was able to do that, I knew there was a hope. i did a full factory reset of the phone and voila the phone fully booted, the pain in the butt touchflow loaded. Very important thing I forgot to do in the past is to back up my phone, after the restore you will lose everything on phone, except what is in the internal storage. Thanks again.
I recently tried to unlock my uncle's Diamond. I used Hard SPL1.4 from this site, and it finished that successfully. After restarting, I went through the whole screen calibration and so on, then I went to the kitchen to get some food. By the time I got back, the Diamond wouldn't start at all. I haven't tried a hard reset, but I don't think that would do me any good since the phone doesn't start up at all. Is there anything I can do? Or will I have to tell my uncle I ****ed his phone..
Just a quick detail, I did notice that after it started up again, the area next to the SIM card slot heated up quite a bit. I don't know if that's related, but I figured I'd tell you anyway.
The Hard SPL of choice is the 1.93. Any who, try and place the device into bootloader mode (tri-colour screen).
Hard Reset Your Device:
• Soft reset button and hold the vol. down + Circle button until u see the grey screen. REMEMBER THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING SAVED ON THIS ROM (i.e. contacts, calender, etc.)
Bootlaoder Mode:
• Soft reset and hold the volume down until u see the tri screen
Do you see the Hard spl 1.40? if yes, then just a hard reset and see what happens
IF none of the above worked, take out the BATTERY for a bit and try the above options all over again.
Hi, thought i would add to this thread.
Mine also did this, it worked fine for a week with Windows Revolution 6.5 rom then it randomly turned off and refuses to turn on.
Bootloader mode / hard / soft reset none work.
