QTEK9100 - put back Lock and get guarantee repair? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I've got a QTEK9100 (T-mobile MDA Vario) for a couple of weeks now.
I have used Lokiwiz to remove the sim lock and the ROM lock. So formally the guarantee is gone. I've added QTEK ROM and alle seemed to be working fine.
A week ago Bluetooth complety stopped working (hard resets, new software etc all didn't help). I've now placed the latest t-mobile ROM on my Vario (so back to the t-mobile software again).
I want to put the SIM and ROM lock back and give it to T-mobile for a repair (is this possible to put the locks back?).
Is there a way for them to see that the locks have had been removed (and so the guarantee is no longer valid) or should this be possible to claim a guarantee repair?
I am convinced that the bluetooth problem is hardware related. But i guess i have to deliver a valid t-mobile mda in order for them to accept and repair it.
Any suggestions or experiences in this area?

Vario II Has Permanent White Screen But phone Still Works ?

I have a TMobile Vario II which has been fine now for over 17 Months, it is unlocked and flashed. recently the phone has been coming on with a white screen which normally would go after either switching it off or after a hard reset.
This is now not the case, and no matter what i do the phone starts up and may display briefly a screen and then just goes white.
I have reflashed the phone with different wm6 roms and all seem to work fine on the flashing part but all come up with a white screen.
Now my question is after ringing t-mobile they say the phone is covered under a 24 month warranty. Now is there away that i can get this back to a factory default before i send it back ? or wont this matter ? the phone is in a pretty bad way as the casing is dented. Will they just send out a refurbished one or will they actually repair this one ?
Any help is appreciated.
My friend had this same problem with O2, he send it and ge tback new without a problem. And this same just happend to me, I will go to T-mobile on monday.
I vad previously send back unlocked Vario and they send me new one. Just flash orginal T-mobile system and you shouldn't have any problems.

No Networks Available

I just bought a HTC s620 unlocked from ebay. I have been using my family members legit t-mobile dash and my sim works fine in it. The s620 came with NRG 1.3 rom on it. At first it would connect to the t-mobile network for a few seconds, then it would disconnect and get stuck saying searching.
I flashed the phone with .6 t-mobile rom, same problem. (yes i did the application unlock)
Now i flashed the phone with the 1.7 NRG Rose rom and i can't find any networks at all.
Anyone have any ideas? I have looked through all the settings just to make sure it isn't a dumb mistake. Is it possible that the HTC s620 unlocked phones off of ebay just don't work with T-mobile?
Thanks,
Hain
Update:
I tried the same with my brothers sim card, same results. Can't find any networks. I also tried flashing to 6.5 3VOLUTION, nothing.
I guess then perhaps it's either a hardware fault or the phone's IMEI number has been blacklisted, perhaps because it has been reported stolen.
Thanks for the response. It must be the phone radio that is busted. I am sending the phone back, all the way to China .
same problem
Hey... I've had this same problem... did you buy it from youdosure88 on ebay? I have a similar problem... the signal is strong outdoors but indoors there is no signal. did you get a replacement?

No Sw. Dead radio - any way to diagnose?

My 2 month old One X seems to have developed a problem today, with it's GSM/UMTS radio. Was working fine this morning in Dublin. Caught a ferr y back to the UK and it was still fine but by the time I got to my office in Chester, it was showing no service. I just put it down to a local issue with the Vodafone network. But, on the 200 hundred mile drive back to London, despite rebooting and trying to force it to re-register as GSM, WCDMA in GSM/WCDMA modes, I've still not managed to get anything other than No Signal. Clearly not a general Vodafone network problem as the UK news and internet sites would be all over it.
I got back home and tried the other Vodafone SIM that I use in my Galaxy Tab (screwing up the SIM slot in the Tab, in the process) but exactly the same problem. I've spoken to Vodafone and despite me trying the other SIM, they've just said it looks like your SIM isn't registering with the network, so we'll send another out. All good except I'm off on holiday tomorrow.
I'm wondering if the radio "chip" itself has gone AWOL and wondered if there is any way to diagnose that on the handset itself? Any ideas if that's possible or anything else I can try to diagnose the issue?
Failing that, I guess it needs to go back to HTC for repair/replacement. Anybody know how warranty repairs work and how long it's likely to take to resolve and anything I should do with the phone beforehand?
You need to try your sim in another phone to eliminate the sim card
If its the same in another phone its the sim if it works fine its the phone

Unlocking help

I have an S2 i9100p which was originally locked to orange under contract, before the contract in late 2013 expired I had it unlocked and everything worked fine until one day it stopped, completely blank, not even switching on... I sent it back to a registered Samsung Repairer and when i got it back everything was different due to the repairs they made, the android version was different to the version i had originally and the phone was no longer unlocked... I have since tied many methods, bought a code online, still locked... on 3 seperate occasions i took it to a local unlocking shop and each time they couldnt do it and couldnt explain why... I have also rooted it with frama root as its the only rooting software that has seemed to work since the repair and then tried the samsung unlock app from this site in the playstore, some apps dont even recognise the phone as a samsung settings for about device > status under phone number say its unknown but recognises the device name and model, imei, etc.. but still no avail to unlocking.... can anyone shed any alternate solutions on how i can unlock this? I dont wanna take it back to the samsung place cos they are so far away and want to charge £50 to try, not to unlock it, to try.... please someone gimme a solution as orange dont provide a good enough service for the area i live and my general usage needs require more than they offer on a payg orange sim (the only sims that work)... ive periodically tried different cards in the hope that it unlocked magically but always get the same screen sim network unlock pin which i dont have , help before my phone becomes a high speed projectile

Edge / GSM only, hardly 3G/LTE possible

Hey,
since a few days, I'm not able to access 3G/LTE anymore in Germany with European G4 H815. Bootloader is unlocked (so no warranty for me).
I already reflashed it with KDZ with CSE flash, also tried to enable/reflash LTE Bands described here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-enabling-lte-bands-t3137818
2G/GSM/Edge is possible, not more. Forcing the network to use 3G only results in no connection to the network.
Tried also swapping SIM cards with my GFs smartphone, her SIM card can also only get GSM in my G4, my SIM card can easily get H+ on her smartphone.
May this be a defective modem, or maybe a software bug? I flashed Genisys Rom, now back to stock.
Help would be greatly appreciated! Any thoughts?
Kind regards
Have you tried erasing and then adding in a new APN? If it worked prior this would be a good starting place
Thanks for the answer! Yes, I tried any possible APN configuration.
On my wife's h815 I can't test this as access is denied, but your on genisys ROM so it may let you
Open the dialer and type
*#*#4636#*#*
Hey,
I tried it, but could not click Phone Info. Error message is:
This application does not work on this device.
When I first rooted the G4, I backuped all system partitions. Maybe I should try to revert them all? I already tried to restore MODEM, MODEMST1 and MODEMST2.
Or could this be dangerous?
Kind regards
Yeah same with my wife's phone, it's strange were locked out there..
Restoring those partitions shouldn't hurt anything but I'm not very familiar with this phone so can't attest to anything for sure and the wife is on holiday so I can't check her phone
When you went through apns, did you try to first erase them all completely? If not try that, then make a new one
Yeah, I've got only one APN. I also requested a new one by my provider via SMS.
I wonder if the modem itself is defective. Maybe it got fried by wireless charging, I'm using a chinese Qi-Sticker and replaced the original one.
Are you using wireless charging?
No, just a cheap dock, but as far as I know that won't fry the internals or interfere with the radio at all
The reason I keep asking if you fully erased all apns and start over is I had to do this with a 2013 motox when it switched to lollipop, for some reason all apns had to be erased and then readded to get lte/3g to work again, the phone was stuck on edge just like yours
Okay, I found out by chance today, that there is 3G/HSPA reception possible. I was standing outside 100m away from a cell tower, and had medium reception. Maybe there is a problem with the internal antenna?
Oh, and by the way, I can see LTE network here at home (but no HSPA), but don't have a LTE contract, so I can't connect to it.
Maybe next time, when you are next to a cell tower, you try it yourself?
I haven't found a solution.
LG refuses to repair to my G4 for free, but I buyed the phone at Amazon (De). I called the hotline, they cover the warranty for 2 years, so today I sent the phone in for repair.
I'll keep you updated if Amazon repairs it despite the bootloader being unlocked (I told them before).
Sorry I couldn't offer a technical solution for anyone with the same problem
This is what happened in the meantime:
I sent the phone to an Amazon Partner Service Center. They refused to repair it under warranty - Bootloader unlocked. They offered me to replace the motherboard with a new one - 283€ incl shipping
After that offer, I called Amazon that their partner would not repair the phone under warranty.
They then sent me a brand new G4 for free! After I already had received the new unit from Amazon, of course I had to send back the defective G4 (when it came 10 days later from the repair service).
My friend has exactly the same problem.
Bootloader is unlocked. Tried to go back to stock MM 20c firmware from Imperium v1 Rom, but that didn't work. Also no update to 20d is offered by LG. If i force to use 3G, the phone can't connect to the cell network. Only edge does work. APN looks also good. Furthermore i tried to flash a new/other modem, but that didn't work also :/
Does someone have any suggestions to fix this problem?
@t000x: Was unlocked bootloader and therefore no warranty no problem for amazon.de?
Hi hasenbolle,
try restoring the firmware first, before shipping it back:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
Yes, Amazon gave me a new unit despite the bootloader being unlocked.
But first I had to send it to their partner service Center and wait a few days.
Good luck with that phone.
