peculiar earphone connector problem!!! - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

I have been using the XDA IIs for nearly 8 months now & have never gotten a problem.
I lost my headset with mic a week back & so purchased a new one from a local market here in INDIA.
But I noticed that after plugging in the headset with mic into the the XDA IIs ,I could hear only on the left side...no stereo at all.I went to he local O2 dealer & tried the original headset with the same results.
So finally I turned the phone down to the O2 service center at my place & got the phone back yesterday (friday) & the stereo was back & working
The people at the O2 service centre told me that it was minor soldering that was needed & hence dint charge me anything at all.
NOW !! here is where the problem starts......
My Battery readings show 100% for both the batteries & when I plug in the STEREO HEADSET into the connector ...phew!! the battery charge comes plummeting down from 100 to 40% in just 1 hour & then goes to zero & the ppc HARD RESETS...
I dont even have any programms running like the mp3 or video files ....just plug in the headset into the connector & the whole thing repeats ....and once I remove the headset battery charge remains very constant for 1 hour before dropping by 1%
What is happening?
I am a medical doctor & cant afford to sit & charge my device every hour let alone synching the device some 5 times since yesterday due to the repeated hard resets.
PLEASE someone advice on what could be wrong.
Have the people from the O2 service centre succeeded in short circuiting inside the device while soldering?
Thanks a million in advance for helping

Battery Issues - now resolved...I Hope!

Hi,
I recently had a problem with my XDA2s. I though I'd post what happened here so people could a) Perhaps explain to me what the hell happened, b) know what to do if they have a similar problem.
I took my O2 XDA2s out of my pocket and it wouldn't turn on. My immediate reaction was to hard reset it. This also had no effect. I even tried entering boot loader mode out of sheer desperation. It appeared it was D E A D.
I tried putting it on charge and it still would not turn on. Fearing I was in for a trip to my local O2 shop and the usual "umm....ahh....thats strange....replacement time will be 3-4 working years" etc. I started to compose an Email to O2 support. I had left the device on charge.
Low and behold after 5 minutes the device pinged at me. i looked over to see and it had come back on. It had hard reset. It seems something had caused both batterys to *Completely* Discharge. It took 5 mins of charging just to get enough power to come on (is my best guess).
Has anyone had this problem? Can anyone explain why? It's charging now very very slowly. Hopefully when its charged it will be ok.
Lewis
Had the same thing on my XDA2. Thought the thing was knackered but it cam back to life after a few minutes on charge. I've noticed that my XDA2 will not switch off by itself when set to do so ("Turn off device if not used for" and I have it on 2 minutes). The thing just doesn't switch off
The setting to lower the backlight works fine, as does the Alarm in the morning so I think the timer is working.
Any clues anyone?

QTek 9090 turns itself on and off

My Qtek 9090 started turning itself on and off for no reason. All this happens every 40-50 seconds or so. I have done 2 hard resets (no third party programs are in phone) but it continues to have the same problem.
I have also noticed that battery power icon permanently displays a fully discharged battery even though I have left it on charge for up to 4 hours. All this happened from one day to another. Prior to that I never had this problem.
I've Had the Qtek 9090 for over 6 months with the same battery.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Are u using the supplied charger ?
Hi pabellon, (i wonder if it is Criollo)
Its been addressed that custom made chargers (specially car charges) present this problem. there is a post in the BA forum somewhere that speaks about it. The problem seems to be amperage needed for the beast to charge.
However if u are facing this problem with the craddle then a wornout or damaged battery maybe the problem...

i-mate JASJAR not charging from 0%!

Hi,
It's a long story...
My i-mate JASJAR started shutting down at 40% some time back so I took it to an authorised reseller / repair shop who diagnosed that water had seeped in (despite no such obvious history; phone has been with me throughout) and said all warranty null and void etc. I still left it for repair.
After coming back from repair, one of speakers has stopped working, flash light does not work and (inspite of my having put in a brand new battery) the battery seems to charge on its own accord / rarely!
Since the last 1 week, it has been at 0% constantly on charger-support. The minute I take it off charging, it switches off until I put in into charging again
Earlier (after coming back from the repair shop), it used to be at 0%, but when I shut down, remove and put back battery 4-5 times, it would show 2% charging and then charge up to around 86%. Then I could use the phone again till 0%, after which again I would need to perform the above complicated ritual, with no guarantee of success. I like the phone so much I am still bearing with it
Now its not even doing that
Ive almost (sorry I HAVE) given up on i-mate support persons and the local authorised dealer.
Any solutions???

[Q] HTC One X violently died but I think I might've resurrected it?

Please look into this guys;
Last night, I charged my HOX from 18%-28%, used it for a few minutes and then turned it off (it was still at 28%). I then plugged it into the HTC "black box" usb charger (I've been using the same one since I got the phone like six months ago) but turned on charging after 2 hours - and left it charging for like 6½ hours.
EDIT: My brother actually switched on charging two hours after I switched the phone off. [IT WAS TURNED OFF FOR 2 HOURS]
In the morning, the red LED wasn't on, so I disconnected it and tried turning it on - it didn't work.
I tried holding all three buttons for minutes and all of that, but it still didn't work.
I googled the issue and went through a bunch of threads where the exact same thing happened, and most people said the battery either died permanently or something similar. This one person said he fixed his HOX by using a different charger, apparently the chargers themselves can die.
I plugged my HOX into my mom's Samsung charger, and booted it into bootloader, and selected RECOVERY. After a few minutes and to my orgasmic relief, my phone turned on.
I'm still confused as to what happened.
1) Is there something terribly wrong with my phone's battery now? (When it turned on it was at 1%, whereas I turned it off 6½ hours prior at 28%)
2) My HTC black box charger is obviously not to be used now, right?
3) Is there any problem with using a samsung charger on my HOX from now on? Or should I search for another HTC Black Box Charger?
I'll leave it on charge until it reaches around 60-70% and test it out, and let you know if it's fine. But until then, could you please try answering my questions?
THANKS!
On a side note:
I recently had my HOX repaired at the UK service center under warranty. The phone actually had a bunch of issues; yellow spots on the screen, the ruined wifi antennae thing.. Well, they replaced the screen and display, and replaced the Wifi wiring. When I got it back, it turned out that they forgot to remove a plastic cover from the in-call speaker. Thus I cannot use the phone for phone calls outside of extremely quiet places, unless I use earphones with a mic. I let HTC know this, and they said, "Oh, no problem, just send it back to center"
I reside outside of the UK. I had to send it there with my own money and bring it back with my own money. So now I have to choose between spending another $90 or being able to use my phone for phone calls.
Thanks again, whoever bothers to read this and helps me

Let me know hoe it goes, because Im having the exact issue. I tried the steps from sukhwant717, but getting stopped at the step when it goes to the OS. Will keep my phone to charge for a few hours. I observe, that there is no heating up (battery), but will keep it for charging anyways.
Cheers

Thanks man....I did actually fix the phone...your awesome.....
It went something like this...
First phone refused to turn on....no charging light notification..it keeps vibrating.
Even @sukhwant717 method stopped at "os" thing.
After exhausting all option taken to a local service person who did something and told phones dead.
After coming home I have checked He RIPPED /SNAPPED ANTENNA cable.
I didn't bother much as phone was prononced dead!
After 30 to 40 days was casually reading @sukhwant717 thread and thought of trying again. I coonected charger and SUDDENLY I SAW ASUS BOOT SCREEN and phone was showing BATTERY WITH QUESTION MARK. I let it charge for sometime suddenly bootloader screen appeared but was not entering into recovery.(perhaps damaged bootloader , recovery).
Then I followed sukhwant717 method flashed bootloader and RAW image using ADB.
and phone RESURRECTED but with very low siganl.
It's due to RIPPED antenna cable.
And was getting good reception on 2nd SIM (perhaps uses different antenna/cable)
So I decided to order new Antenna Flex Cable but it's not available in India. So I went to ASUS SERVICE CENTER (near Brandfactory) in Hyderabad
and asked them the cost of Flex Cable, they said they won't sell spares...I have to RMA.
So I did and after two days I have received a call from them that "ITS FAULTY MOTHERBOARD" and will cost 11000 INR (USD 170, seriously ASUS),I said I rather want my phone in previous condition. I even told them to fix antenna cable ...I will manage.
They said their "TESTING SOFTWARE " failing device test even after connecting antenna cable.so they can't sell a part for a TEST FAILED device.
I told them it's because I had unlocked bootloader..the test is failing.they didn't have a clue abt bootloader unlcoking.
So again went to local market for the cable found A cable (though lil longer) and got it fixed for about 300INR ($5).
and got back the reception and typing with LTE connection on ZF2.
Thanks again @sukhwant717 ...
My observations: the issue could be due to
1) it's battery related issue (completely drained bir failed battery)
2) damaged bootloader
The people who have similar problem should leave the phone uncharged for 30 to 40 days even more and connect the charger and see if u see battery with ? Mark.
Or if new battery is available change battery and check....

if you need antenna cable i can send you. but before that. send me pics of motherboard where antenna connector sits. don't ever believe local and service center guys. they are dumb enough to ruin things.

I had a similar problem, phone suddenly powered itself off and started vibrating. With the phone off and connecting the charger it started to charge, but after a while it started vibrating and overheating. I did a factory reset but the problem persisted. I flashed the raw firmware and it behaved properly for a while, but a few days ago the phone died. It does not turn on, does not charge, screen never turns on, no notification light, no vibration. But if connected to the charger it gets hot.
Left the mobile alone and tried to plug in after 35 days, IT WORKED. At first nothing happened but left it in charge for few hours. Later the mobile came back to life when I tried to turn it on..... 3 days in and still working just like it used to.... will have to take care not to let the battery drain below 20%
I am having same issue .. did you get it resolved ? Any luck ?
hello i'm having the same problem
will this method ensure that my data won't be lost?
