I read that since unlocking my MDA Pro I also have SuperCID (thanks, Buzz), and I have no idea what it is? Would anyone be kind enough?

I'm not quite sure, so don't quote my on this, but I think it's this:
the CID is actually the operator/manufacturer code. Normally if you have a QTEK CID, you can't flash an IMATE ROM on your device.
However, by changing your device to a SuperCID, you can flash any ROM on it you want

OK, perhaps a noob question, but looking for two days to find a solution to my question now:
How do I determaine if my device is CID locked or not.
Searching throug this forum / Internet has not brought me any closer to determining if my HTC p3300 device is CID locked or not.
Please help
hi
i also want to know how to determine if your device is CID locked/unlocked.
sorry,what is cid lock????
Hi Guys,
Visit following link http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Trinity_BootLoader
Use "info 2" command. This will give you the CID of your device.
Some months later .....
My Artemis is suposed to be cid locked (My mobile provider is on the box, on the terminal, on the startup screen, ...), however I hve phoned to HTC support and they say that my serial number is of a "free" terminal.
So, I don't know if my terminal is CID locked or not. From your suggestion, if a CID number is given, does it mean that the terminal is locked? Which is the answer for CID unlocked?
As I would like to upgrade to WM6 without losing the warranty, I'm not sure if I should get the HTC oficial upgrade or my provider oficial upgrade. Who is giving the warranty to me: my provider or HTC?
Thank you very much indeed

I don't know the answer to your question, but why not just unlock it anyway ?
If it is locked it will be unlocked, if its unlocked it will be unlocked. End result = CID unlocked.
Seems simple to me.
have a read of my old thread, may help you.

hi guys ive had my Hermes for a month or two and i was really interested in wm6 my phone is a herm100,os 5.1.195,build 14955.2.3.0,rom1.34.502.1 and a 1.16.00.00 radio my boot loader is the new olipro and i used the free sim/cid unlock every thing went fine but is there a way to actually tell if me Hermes is super cid i appreciate any help or feedback thanks in advance
Bootloader command "info 4" will tell you the real CID of the device.
BUT make sure to flash a radio first, as you seem to be running the unlocker's patched radio and it will report always SuperCID even if the device isn't really SuperCID.
thanks a lot is 1.41.00.10 a good one to flash to show that its unlocked
Hi ,
I´m going to try and update my HTC s620 to WM6 from Tmobile,
but,
Where can i download the HTC ROM iff i would like to revert
meaning going back to wm5?
and is this possible?
cause i allso want to be sure that when htc comes out with there rom update i can update it to theres,
cause i think the tmobile rom has a lot of screens with there logo on?
and i dont like that
I have the WM5 HTC Rom (RUU_Excalibur_HTC_WWE_1.11.405.4_4.1.13.28_02.63.90_Ship.exe). It is over 37MB in size, I don't know how I could get it to you.
http://rapidshare.com/users/7UE30C
click on the folder button
super!
thanks man!
Do you also know iff it is possible to downgrade from wm6 to wm5, in case i dont like it, or like i mentioned above?
U have to have you phone CID unlocked. then you can go WM5<>WM6 no problem. ( take it back, actually i am not sure. If you going to play only with t-mobile ROM's, then CID unlocking might not be needed).

The phone i have is from HTC it self, not Tmob.
So i know it has no simlock, i guess no cid lock too, but i dont understand cid lock will lock for that one here some where
Did anyone try to update/downgrade it allready?
I did. I have the T-Mobile Dash. It's not CID unlocked.
I downloaded WM6 and found that I couldn't use Missing Sync or send email, so I went online and downloaded the WM5 Rom from another forum (Howard I believe but I might be wrong).
It works just fine, I had no problems going back.
then ill try that, cause htc said it would not work, thanks
I tried using that Rom above but it gave me an error "Invalid Vendor ID" or something like that. I already CID unlocked (thats how I upgraded from ROgers WM 5 to Tmobile WM6). Can anyone tell me what I' doing wrong?
where can I find the tmobile wm5? i upgraded with their wm6 and would like to go back.
Please could anyone help? I am trying to flash my exec with a vodafone rom
(new sim card etc ) b ut on trying io get error code 120 and it will not let me.
I understand from searching the site that my exec might be CID locked. How can i go about disabling this? Many thanks.
Follow the instructions in the SIM unlock thread and your device will end up being CID unlocked. Alternatively use the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe utility

partially right, yes the sim unlocker will remove cid lock too, but maupgradeut_noid.exe SHOULDNT BE USED. it is the magician anti cid flasher hacked to work on our devices and such isnt reliable or easy to use, it was only used because we didnt have an anti cid flasher for universal, olipro made us one a while back so use that now, the wiki will show you the way
Hey Midget, just saw in your sig that you're getting replacement parts for your dead Uni - nice one! Out of curiosity, are you going to use the Uni or Athena as your main device? I decided to stick with my good old Uni rather than get an Athena; the 3.5mm headphone port, full-size SD slot and ability to use it as a phone without a headset were my deciding factors
Many thanks everyone.yes this has done the trick although i,m not sure about jwrights latest rom though,as the fone keeps crashing when turning the camera on & also the wifi.Has anyone else had this prob??
The Jwrights ROM need to update its radio version to 1.15 and it will run perfectly , i also added a hacked version of Imaginet to get Arabic Enabled software for my SMS
i also did upgrade my O2 Exec throw MaUpgradeUt_noID from Jwrights ROM
Have a nice day

Hmmm, weird. I have only ever used it and never had any trouble.
I've searched and I've not been able to find an answer to this question. How exactly does a gold card work?
I know that it does, and I know how to create them but Im wondering how they allow you to flash ROMs with a different CID?!
I would really like an answer to this too. Its been confusing me for a while.
The bootloader just ignores the CID check if a goldcard is inserted.
So the bootloader ignores the CID check thus you can flash any image with a different CID.
But how does this work? Is this something that Google built into the android trunk or is it am exploit of some sort?
Cheers
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
It's not an exploit, or it would have been fixed by now (it's been possible since the first Android phone).
... Cheers for that, it sounds like the goldcard exists on purpose then, as by design....
I dont have goldcard but im able to flash any ROM and any radio on my Telus/unlocked Desire. Personally, I don't see the use of a goldcard. Am I missing anything?

You need a goldcard to install an official ROM, not a custom ROM.

Does anyone know more technical details about this? Like what steps the RUU does through while executing (I know the major titles it displays) like what it actually checks on the phone and sd, and why when it encounters a goldcard, it ignores the CID check. For that matter, does it also abort the HBoot version check?
And can someone authoritatively tell me whether a CID is only unique for the sdcard and not for the device? If I make a goldcard on a Wildfire and a Desire are they the same? And extending the eg., is the CID of the card the same if I check it on a WM device?
Does a CID differ if made on phones of different regions? B/w Asia and Europe?
Bump? Just curious..
Me too! No definative answer.

One of the ruu processes is the Cid check. It simply checks your device to see for what region it's supposed to be. That means that a Europe Cid phone can't be flashed with an Asia ruu. It has nothing to do with the sim( as far as i know), it's something into the phone.

That doesn't explain the ins and outs of how out works though. Just what it's for.
Personally I think the GoldCard is something like a "debug key", so the devs just used them to test all the ROMs on a single device.
Evenguard that sound's like a reasonable guess!
