Hi all
I Realise lots of this has been asked before but
I've read through the forums and there seems to be lots of it works with this and not with this!!!! help!!! Does anyone have an exact answer?
I've had and XDA1, leadtek 9532 mouse, Arkon powered mount(crap interference from the phone ), TOMTOM2 and the stereo hands free and its been a rocking system ....apart from the fact it looks like the cable monster has puked all over my dash. So I'm now about to invest in an XDA2.....fantastic apart from I now know nothing about Bluetooth.....what reciever do I want???.....what handsfree system do I want??? :?: ....and what cradle do I want???? Can the XDA2 deal with talking to the bluetooth handsfree and the gps at the same time????
Recomendations for something neat would be most appreciated. Whats the situation with charging the bluetooth GPS?, it currently takes 4 and half hours to put the cradle on the dash, plug in the xda, plug in the headset, clip on the mic, plug in the radar detector, put the face off stereo in and pick my nose. something easy would be good!!! Thx 4 ure time. M
Hi Mattw
i use an xda 2 and ttnav 2.24 with bt fortuna recieiver and a bt cellink headset. they all work fine together. the nav instructions are given from the XDA and when the phone rings the bt headset cuts in. sometimes after a phonecall i have to start ttnav agian but is still remembers the route so its no real problem.
i also have the Arkon powered mount its horrible isnt it? as soon as there is a decent powered XDA2 mount available ill get it. ( im waiting for Seido to release their looooooooooong awaited unit)

Thanks
Thanks for you help.....Shall let you know how I get on. :?
Can anybody recomment me a good BlueTooth car kit for my XDAII? What about Motorola 98500 and the Parrot systems?
Hereby using the speakers of the car and a info disply for the dashboard.
Thank you.

I am trying to work out the best way to set up the following in my car:
1 ) GPS on my Exec using bluetooth and TomTom 5.2
2 ) Bluetooth handsfree phone use using Motorola Razor
3 ) Car mount kit with charger.
I intend to have all of the above properly installed so no loose wires and mess.
From everything I have picked up from others the Brodit is the best solution for a mounting kit, so i will definately order that.
My dilema is I do not use the exec as a phone as it is just not pratical for that, so whilst i really like the idea of the Parrot CK 3300 I am not sure if it will pair with my Razor to use as a phone and the Exec for bluetooth GPS operation at the same time. If this is possible then it makes life easy. On the rare occaison that is use the Exec as a phone in the car it's own handsfree is pretty good any way. I also understand that the Parrot GPS uses the Exec speakers rather than the Car radio for the spoken directions so there is not need to have it access the car sound system.
The other alternative is to get the Parrot CK3100 for the handsfree car GSM bit , buy TT 5.2 then find a separate GPS receiver.
Does anyone either have experince of doing this or and idea of the best way.
Any suggestions here will be greatfully received.
Charlie
I've paired my CK3300 before with my XDA Exec and a Nokia 6600.
Used the XDA for GPS and the Nokia for handsfree.
When you pair the XDA with the CK3300 you get the list of devices on the Parrot and you get handsfree and serial port - You will only want to pair the serial port part of it. Just pair your RAZR as you would with a regular headset and it should all work.
Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply. That is very encouraging to hear. It really simplifies things if i can go down that route. I will order the bits on Monday, unless anyone has a better solution for this. Also can you confirm if the GPS spounds come throught he Exec speakers rather than the Car stereo?
Do you have any other advice about this?
Charlie
Yes the GPS sounds come through the exec and not the car kit.
Just trying to think if there is anything else you need to be aware of.......
It all should be pretty easy to be honest - just make sure when pairing the device that you use the advanced settings and choose pair with a windows ce device.
Hi Guys, I've recently bought a universal and was wondering if they will work with a wired gps cube wired with an RJ11 jack into a car Mount, ive got a Blue Angel that works fine with tomtom and the wired cube but I just can't get it to work with the exec, any ideas,
Sorry if there is allready a post about this, I couldn't find one
Cheers

Hi, I have recently bought a O2 exec with wm5 and a brand new JASJAR car cradle with a built in GPS receiver. I was told the cradle would work with the exec when i bought it
I have installed TT 5.21. When the exec is in the cradle and i run TT5.21 i am unable to detect the wired gps despite trying the various options. TT5 works when i connect to the BT gps receiver.
The cradle has power and recharges the exec when its cradled.
I have also installed a new rom thinking that it might solve the problem, but it hasnt.
Any help/advise would be appreciated on getting the wired gps receiver to work.
Are you sure it has a GPS built in? Can you give us the details on the cradle and where you bought it?

Yes I am sure it has gps built in. I bought it from GPSforless...details below
PDA Holder - XDA Exec - T-Mobile MDA Pro - I-MATE JASJAR - Orange SPV M5000 - QTEK 9000 Car kit with inbuilt 20 channel Sirf III GPS receiver. This cradle has high frequency microphone allowing handsfree functionality. The high volume speaker makes it easy to hear your caller while driving.
The rom i installed was the one that you created
Thanks for your help on this
Am not familiar with that cradle and to be honest have always used my trusty Holux Bluetooth gps with the exec.
I am assuming it connects via the USB socket, therefore may require a driver on the exec. What does the documentation say?
If all else fails give the vendor a call tomorrow.
Sorry I cannot be a bit more specific.

Hi Psi, I have spoken with the vendor and they informed me that the powered gps is bluetooth. It took me less than 5 mins to get the exec working.
Having now used the cradle and gps, I am very impressed with it.
Thanks for your assistance and help.
