Hi,
Just got a BA. Now I was trying to find a way to make the device check for emails via my Wifi network every 10 or 15 minutes. I've enabled the option in Pocket Outlook, but when I suspend the device, automatically the wifi network is disconnected.
That would not be a problem if pocket outlook was enable to reconnect itseft automatically to the network for 30sec to check for new mail.
There is a hack for a new software I could use for this?

Hello Everyone,
I have my XDA 2S configured to Sync Mail/Contacts/Calendar with our Exchange server over the Internet connection. Whether I am wireless at home, or use GPRS when Im out and about, its really rather effective.
However, generally speaking, I want to only have the Sync happen when I press send / receive from within the Inbox app, or when I select Sync from within Activesync. I would then expect that I can disconnect the GPRS and forget about it.
What actually seems to happen is that Activesync stays active, and the sync happens every 5 mins or so after that. Even if I close activesync down (yes its really closed, using PocketNav) it seems to re appear and resync again. I have to do a soft reset to stop it happening.
Any Ideas?
Hit Start and go to Active Sync. Make sure you are NOT connected to ActiveSync.
Hit Tools and go to Options.
Uncheck the two check boxes indicating syncing with the device. After this hit Options.
Please make sure that When Cradle, Enable PC Sync through USB and not through modem or any other connection.
After this put the dot on Disconnect when done. Usually it tries to maintain connection.
Hit OK.
In activesync go to Tools -->Options, then hit the "Mobile Schedule" tab on the bottom of the screen. Choose "manually" from all three of the drop down boxes. That should take care of it. You can only access the "options" menu in Activesync if you are not currently connected to your PC or connected to the exchange server via GPRS.
Well, I finally got my email account setup and working after the help from this forum. Now, I am in need of help again.
I have my Dash check for new emails every 15 mins. However, if I disable Wi-Fi in Comm. Manager, it won't do that, which is great. However, when I have it charging on my laptop via USB, it will check every 15 minutes for emails again, since it uses USB for Internet access. Is there a way to disable the email feature via USB? It is useless if connected to a laptop. I am also tired of constantly getting new notifications when the emails are already being picked up by the laptop.
Thanks in advance...

Configure your activesync as connected to WORK... And your e-mail to download when connected to the INTERNET. Should work
Sounds like that might solve the problem. How do I change ActiveSync to WORK? My e-mail accounts are already setup to the Internet.
I have a few email accounts set up in pocket-outlook, but always have to send/receive each separately when I have a wifi and also have to manually make ActiveSync sync to mail2web, why doesn't it do automatically? it would save a lot of effort..
I've been looking through all the settings, there's no option to get this done automatically :/ it's quite a drag..
can anyone point me in the right direction?
hmm
interested in this topic, with schaps advance config you can set to connect automatically to gprs, however ... wifi not so sure. Latest MSN with no IM also wakes up GPRS connection upon boot, and in a way activates the synchronisation of my web2mail exchange server. Wifi is a lot 'cheaper' hehe ... and I believe stock shipped ROM is able to do it at least on my bro's polaris wifi stays on after a soft reset, and doesn't die when in sleep mode either.
Will be keen for someone to have a cab file for this,....
i have the same issue.
what i did was to do it kind of half-automated:
create a shortcut to start sync so that you do not have to go into your email application and start sync from there.
Code:
20#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "Privat" -Sync
if you have more email accounts consider using mortscript.
still not sure how to start sync once a wifi connection has been established.
Hello
I use active sync to my employers MS exchange server on my new Desire. But about every 30 second it goes into sleep mode and I have to put in a password to access again. In the manual it explains how to adjust the time before the screen turns off (settings /sound and display/screen timeout). However on my phone this option is not available. Is there any way I can set up the phone so I don't have to punch the password so often?
Search for a app called "LockPicker" it will not change the time but it will allow you to remove the lock.

i purchased htc desire running adnroid 2.2.
i set up my email account and sync my mail.
i seems that activesync does not turn network connection on when it attempts to sync.
i need to manually turn the network connection on, sync my email and turn the connection off manually.
can i configure it to turn the connection on anf off automatically?
