i just found a new Update on the htc support site.
I think there is no thread about this yet.
Here's the link: http://www.htc.com/europe/support.aspx
Thanx for the attention
RUU is already out, I've been running it a week now
ah, okay, didn't notice...
can you tell me the main changes?
browser speed improved`?
Keyboard has the mic for voice input (but doesn't work well with an english accent!!), Flash is still the last beta so best to install official release once booted, browser seems quicker (but I only use it when away from PC as there's no point viewing the 'Net on a phone), other than that it's just 2.2
Worth getting if you're not rooting, mind
That's the pre "NoDo" update, read on:
http://windowsteamblog.com/windows_phone/b/windowsphone/archive/2011/02/21/our-first-windows-phone-update-and-how-to-get-it.aspx
Just saw it on facebook....now to wait...I wonder when I'll get my update message
this is exciting news
Yeah means nodo is near !!
Just got my update message on my DVPs none of my other US devices have received it yet...
Who wants to bet that this Update to the updating software will deliver a big fat nuke to our HD2s ?
Na, im sure it will be fine but i will be watching very carfully, because at the moment it all seems far to good to be true! happy days, im not exactly sure i know what i want fixed yet anyway as everything is fine, perhaps those random Market errors we sometimes get, but it would seem that, we'll need to wait a wee bit longer
hi guy's...i have connected in this moment my HD7 on Zune.....
First update is avaliable now
i report here what will appened when the update will be end
stay tuned
I have the ability to update my phone and I know the site stated that this one will "...improve the software update process itself" Im not going to update until I know what exactly this update has in store besides what the site said it was for. Could this update even possibly fix the hole that allows chevron to work or will that be fixed in the in the March update?
it would be real nice if someone will wireshark the update so that we can see how day to it and maybe use it to unlock.
Probably to close the chevron security hole no new updates after this and everybody is screwed. Or a lot of greatness to come quicly after this one

Haha that will be ****. Used chevron? Than its really bye bye homebrew apps after this update
I am not interested in what will happen when you install it , I want to have that update (the file , cappkg or something like that)
ps , it will not work on a hd2 because there are missing parts of the rom needed by the update.
Well, I just read this is just a small update to prepare the update process itself ...
So it gives Microsoft some experience on updating their devices
AND
It will also give our chefs some experiences to make their own ROM updatable LOL

Stupid question: Why is this not an OTA? I have no computer to hook into...

edit: hmm.. DVP and HD7 have received it, seems like ATT might be upto something
Ok i have great information, because i have chatted with HTC. and Here is a image: AND YES IT IS IN THE ATTACHMENTS... Htc have told me that the update is gonna get A OTA NOT CABLE. And that it gonna take some more time for that everyone get the update. READ THAT IMAGE GOOD AND COMMENT comment andcomment..........
do not believe HTC support. they are liars. they support ****!
Why don't u read some threads instead to create a new one?
Gingerbread is already out on htc developer site, and will not be ota
Mark Moons, Director European Channel / Country Manager Benelux at HTC, begs to differ. https://twitter.com/#!/markmoons
Use google translate if you're not dutch.
Edit: Targeted at OP.
Hahahahahaha....there is chaos of information distribution inside HTC I guess...
So.. as I'm sure everyone has read, there is an update that will "clean up" the beta provisioning and allow users to update with Microsoft's official servers. It's starting to roll out to the internal Microsoft crew that were apart of the Mango Friends and Family promotion (this is confirmed) and they are running 7720.68. They went through a different update process to 7720.68 than we did so there is something extra that those who are in that group have that we don't. With that said, Mango RTM is supposedly going official 9/27 for a lot of carriers. We need to keep a close contact together to see if all xda-upgraded 7720.68 users will be able to receive those updates that everyone else gets without having to do the unthinkable and downgrade to NoDo. Use this thread to post any findings and such.
Thanks,
Snickler
Edit: ALL LEAKED 7720 RTM USERS ALREADY HAVE THE PRE-CLEANUP UPDATE INSTALLED Thanks schluff1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17922022&postcount=66
How to get from 7392 - 7720 Manually using WP7 Update Cab Sender: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18301931&postcount=73

From what I hear, all the update does is point the phone back to the production Windows Update Server... if there's a way we can find where to change this (that's given that it's a registry stored entry and not a group of flat db files)

Yea, I said that on another thread. Just waiting to see if this is the case.

The only thing I hope is in Zune, it shows my 7720 phone as version 7.1, so maybe it will take "7.5" as a upgrade...
The word is my carrer releases it tomorrow, so I gues I will find out tomorrow, if it's true...

I can only tell you what I have on my device: Samsung Omnia 7 with Mango RTM, no mango-update-provisioning applied:

so you really need somebody that just went through the pre-cleanup process and post their reg entries.
Probably a good idea to contact hardcoreplur before he upgrades to the final.
edit: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DeviceUpdate\Agent \Settings for LG Quantum
on 7392 (my wife's phone): "GuidOfCategoryToScan"=string:"b2ba61f0-0e23-4fd3-946e-0f5abc1de1b8"
on 7720.68 (my phone): "GuidOfCategoryToScan"=string:"b2ba61f0-0e23-4fd3-946e-0f5abc1de1b8"
no difference between the two and others listed here.

Have this on my Focus as well.
I have installed Windows 8 on my Notebook, this is why I have a fresh installation of Zune, does this mean I don't need the cleanup update, because Zune points to the default update server anyhow?
Has something been manipulated on the device as well?
I'm on Mango RTM btw.
First: you are on RTM so you are not receiving the cleanup update, most probably you will have to revert back to nodo or flash your phone back to his original firmware before getting official mango.
Second: never ever use a beta OS to perform a phone update, it's a damn firmware flash, it's not toy!
This guy got the cleanup update on RTM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17866961&postcount=1
You are probably right regarding Win8, I'll use m GF's PC.
wait, in the post he didn't specified it was the cleanup update, it is possible it is just a firmware update from LG to update drivers for Mango
He thinks it's a cleanup update though.
Anyhow, it would be enough for most users if OEMs would just update the drivers, because the missing compass driver is my main concern with Mango RTM.
I guess that everybody will receive firmware update, since it's a completely different and independent thing from the OS
This update is not showing for me? I am running Mango myself I am currently on the official Microsoft RTM version 7720. I am not on the official HTC 7720
Do you think I will get the update or have to play with zune or phone registry to do so?
this post states even RTM users should receive it: http://windowsphonehacker.com/artic..._and_family_bundle_precleanup_update-09-26-11
You are on nothing of official. wait and see if Microsoft will support also you, if not, rollback to Nodo and update

I'm prepared to roll back to NoDo. What I will do is if I see some confirmed updates today, I'll go to NoDo and try to use fiddler or something to capture the binaries.
Well if not surely someone will make another provision to point us right way? As the one that took Us from beta refresh 2 to leaked Microsoft rtm
Sent from Ant's HTC 7 Mozart using XDA Windows Phone 7 App.
Hi All,
This may be relevant (or not), but I've been running the leaked RTM 7720 on my HTC Mozart.
I was having a couple of little niggles, so I thought I'd reset the phone (which I haven't done since I originally got it on 7004).
Just for interest sake I've done all upgrades from original up to the Mango beta 7712 as someone I know has a developer account, before applying the 7720 RTM.
Not long after I rebooted my phone and connected to Zune I got a popup saying there was a HTC firmware upgrade available. I heard this was available but had never been offered this update previously.
Again, not sure if this means anything or if resetting the phone 'resets' the update server location but I thought I'd put it out there.
Thanks
I asked the Amazon for the Bootloader codes and yesterday i got a reply from them, which sounds like they still consider us and they are working on a new software update for Fire Phone,is'nt great news for us ?
They reply me ..
I understand that you want to bootloader codes to be released for Fire phone. I regret to inform you that at this is time bootloader codes is not available.
And thank you so much for bringing this into our attention. To ensure the utmost attention, I've forwarded same feedback to onto our Fire phone development team where we have the option forward each and every comment and feedback to our team and they'll review your comments and work on the Bootloader codes through the next software update.
Asking you to wait is not at all what we want to do, but please be informed that as making changes to Fire phone or adding a new options to the app results in many issues which have to be provided with appropriate result..
I think the only way , amazon is going to provide us bootloader unlock or source code or a new update is - if we keep on reminding them!
Because last time when I called, they told me- there will be no fire os5 neither they will provide support for unsupported apps
I pester them multiple ways every few weeks. Using the fire phone I send them feedback as well as emails. I have never been told "its not happening".
yes they are not saying that will not release any bootloader codes, they said that they will release the bootlader codes as well as the system update in near future..
Yesterday i again ask them for the release of bootloader codes and system update, they again told me that their developer team is working on a system update which will be released very soon..
so they still cosider us and thats the best part for us
it's just an auto-replz probably
coming sure - like Star Citizen!
