I asked the Amazon for the Bootloader codes and yesterday i got a reply from them, which sounds like they still consider us and they are working on a new software update for Fire Phone,is'nt great news for us ?
They reply me ..
I understand that you want to bootloader codes to be released for Fire phone. I regret to inform you that at this is time bootloader codes is not available.
And thank you so much for bringing this into our attention. To ensure the utmost attention, I've forwarded same feedback to onto our Fire phone development team where we have the option forward each and every comment and feedback to our team and they'll review your comments and work on the Bootloader codes through the next software update.
Asking you to wait is not at all what we want to do, but please be informed that as making changes to Fire phone or adding a new options to the app results in many issues which have to be provided with appropriate result..
I think the only way , amazon is going to provide us bootloader unlock or source code or a new update is - if we keep on reminding them!
Because last time when I called, they told me- there will be no fire os5 neither they will provide support for unsupported apps
I pester them multiple ways every few weeks. Using the fire phone I send them feedback as well as emails. I have never been told "its not happening".
yes they are not saying that will not release any bootloader codes, they said that they will release the bootlader codes as well as the system update in near future..
Yesterday i again ask them for the release of bootloader codes and system update, they again told me that their developer team is working on a system update which will be released very soon..
so they still cosider us and thats the best part for us
it's just an auto-replz probably
coming sure - like Star Citizen!

Nope, this new update is locked down tight for the moment. You'll have to wait until a new exploit is found before you'll be able to do anything with it.

i just saw this on another website. Gingerbread’s source code is now available to the public. Jean-Baptiste Quero, an engineer at Google’s Android Open-Source Project (AOSP), posted the announcement early this afternoon on a Google Groups message board, making Android devs the world over a very happy group of people.Quero had warned that it would take several hours for the code to finish pushing to the servers. Also keep in mind that this is just source code. If you don’t know what to do with it, you should probably just wait a day or so, so the speeds aren’t so bad for the various developers who will be putting it to immediate use.
Details: http://thetechjournal.com/electroni...source-code-now-available.xhtml#ixzz1P6RRI2Qm
does this mean we might be able to root again soon?

Hi everyone - just wondered if everyone in the neglected zones (i.e. everywhere Acer is refusing to release ICS for the A100) could re-double the pressure on their local Acer support to see if they will release ICS for "the common man"

Or just install the official ics rom that zeronull released though the stock recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611696
Or install one of the hc versions that are known to ota to ics. The only thing stopping you from ota'ing to ics is the version of hc you are currently on.

I could not work out the process for installing the leaked ICS - it seemed as if a small pre-OTA download was required before the main ICS update could be installed. That is why I was rather hoping to just get stock ICS (for christs sake) - and of course I would then also be able to buy and watch Play store films.
I am joining a forum well down the track and looking over zillions of past posts to find the correct way to root and update the rom on this thing is tricky. I am not a complete noob having rooted and custom rom'ed my past 4 Android devices - phones and tablets, but all of them have had little details which if you got wrong could end up bricking them. Not keen to do that thanks.
Also, I guess I just get a bit peeved at how we get everything months late here in the UK - we are not exactly a techno backwater.
And I do think I am right to be peeved at the pathetic effort from Acer UK support (oxymoron)
Anyway - I finally got ICs last Thursday (26th July 2012). Now I am super peeved because it has screwed up Adobe Flash (useful here in the UK to watch BBC iPlayer and other BBC news videos. Looks like the root and custom ROM option is going to be the way to go after all.

If you're looking for help on rooting unlocking and flashing etc check the guide in my sig, it in turn has links for threads pertaining to each process. Really the only thing to do is READ. I'm not singling you out, but a lot skip over stuff and that's when mistakes happen.
The process is all scripted now. Simple as (once adb is up)
Run root script
Run boot loader unlock script
Delete or rename /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
Install recovery
Boot into recovery, backup, flash as normal.
Overly simplified rundown, but accurate. All of my ROMs run checks for device ID but not all do, so I would suggest for safety to look only here for ROMs. That guide also links to some for the a100.
If you have questions or concerns ask before guessing and you'll do fine. That's if you choose to go this route, of course.
Tapatalked from my Galaxy S II.
Thanks everyone for your advice and help.
I am now very happy with Flex Reaper. Everything backed up using nandroid on CWM.
Everything runs sweetly and with the exception of Polaris Office (a shame - it looks as if it is better than QuickOffice). I looked to see if changing the build.prop model declaration would fix it (there are reports of this working for the A500) but all A100 ROM versions seem to state the model as simply being A100 and I am not keen on tinkering unless I know others have checked out the results in advance.
If anyone has a solution for this I would be interested.

Take a look at the build.prop linuxsociety is working on, it has the A500 model change as well as plenty of tweaks for performance. I haven't used it myself as I'm running my own variants of jellytime and/or CM10, but for ICS it will do perfectly. He's working on a jellybean version as well.
Hello Gurus,
As the subject says, I made the mistake of a hasty ebay purchase for a black 128GB XL running Android 8.0 Build OPR3.170623.007. I was happy with the thought of making it my primary music machine by enabling the Apt-X HD codec and pairing with in-car Apt-HD receiver for car AUX speakers. Wanted to install ARISE Audio to be able to pump up the sound quality.
Found out that model no. G-2PW2100 is actual the Verizon/Project Fi model which is beyond any salvation attempts now.
However all of it turned out to be a pipe dream, when i started with the basics on rooting, to unlock the boot loader. Found out the OEM boot loader unlocking option in Developer settings is greyed out and it will not accept the ADB commands
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
or
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
anymore.
The command
Code:
adb shell getprop ro.boot.cid
returns
Code:
VZW__001
If it would have been 7.0.x then I could have tried dePixel8 , however that not a possibly anymore.
Having read all over the forum for various posts, can I conclude there is no solution as of now and it is an expensive paper weight for the time being, or is it any ray of hope move forward to.
Thanks for your answers.
Their is no solution as of now sunshine team don't have any plans to attempt an unlock for newer than 7.1

Thanks, you verified my worst fears. So money lost, time to write off this sunk cost from personal accounts.
Would keep a lookout for a workable unit now, till then will try to sell it off.

You mean the bootloader for G-2PW2100 - 128GB - 8.0 can be unlocked. Has someone used this service. Do i have to send my mobile or the solution would be provided online.
Would be nice if you can PM with the link to the actual service.
On the other hand, I guess only taobao is the place where I can see Pixel XL 128 with Android version 7.1 sold, as they are not to be found on US/UK ebay.
A couple of queries I need to know to pin point the exact replacement I am looking for:
1. I assume the model should be either G-2PW2100 (either verizon or google) <= ROM 7.1 or a G-2PW2200 (any service provider) with any ROM version till 8.1.
2. Can a G-2PW2100 <= 7.1 once having a bootloader unlocked, be upgraded to 8.0 and above, and keep having the BL unlocked. If once after unlock, it is locked again either on the same ROM version or upgraded to higher ROM version, would it still be possible to unlock it again.
3. Any possible link or direction where an unlocked 128GB XL is available for purchase.
Thanks for your replies.

Well thanks, has anyone tried it to be really working for Verizon Pixel XL. Any success reports.
The website which opens from your URL has a clunky UX, I cannot select and get to know any service details, even with translation. If i select an option with 150Yuan, it takes me back to a webpage where no further journey to go.
Purchasing on Taobao anyways aint possible for me as the whole process and interface is in chinese, and I dont know if they accept international credit card.
Would like to know more information about it.
====================================
Got it, the URL is for the mobile version of the Taobao website, hence strange display on PC. Am trying to search it via PC.

Ok so what I am able to gather is these services are for XL running 7.1.x , and mine is already updated to 8.0 ,so cant say for sure it will work or not. For 7.1.x we dont need a paid service, it was already doable by DePixel8 if I am not wrong.
Thanks.

Thats my assumption as well, however trying to get in touch with TaoBao seller to see what miracle they offer.
Thanks.
I'm pretty sure that even if you downgrade to 7.1, the security patch level would render the dePixel exploit useless. As far as I know, you can't downgrade security patch levels.
Try selling it on Swappa and then buy a Google version off the site.
Please do keep us posted on the TaoBao mission because if it is possible to still do this I am very interested as well... I went on the site to that link and hit the translation on my Chrome browser via laptop and I couldn't make out everything it was informing of but I thought I saw something about it was illegal to ship or prohibited for the goods in my region... I live in the eastern shore of the US... what gives? I am not giving up so easily. I would sell the phone but I am my family's plan and i just pay them cash every month.. so I am sort of stuck with the phone atm myself as well..
Anyways... good luck to all who are still fishing around for an exploit.
Well, i called quits for the TaoBao mission, was a pipe dream anyways. I was able to sell it for a good price. So case closed for making any mistake like this again without reading enough around on the forum about which exact model to buy for my rooting/vipering adventures.
Have another query in mind , will post a new thread for it, while on the hunt for a Google branded set.
I need some opinions please. My phone got another update that changed my home launcher and removed Nova as the default, again. I'm fed up. So I had bought an unlock code last year. I've never used it as I didn't want to reset up all the options and settings on my phone again. I do so much customization, but wanted the option for later possibilities. One question... I have read they have blocked the data base or whatever for the unlock codes. So does that mean mine will not work at this point, it is too late? And two... If I was to install a ROM, of the ones available which one is the most stock like keeping the M Pen working for sure? I love extra the customizations though in all the settings, but want everything working for the most part. I don't use Google pay, but have the M Pen and remember one ROM said that didn't work. I'm off to read more through the forums, but would love some opinions from people with experience. Thanks. EVR-AL00 9.1.0.119 living in USA

Since it appears that getting it to flash is not going to happen is there anyway to make/flash knox updates, thanks.
Couldn't get it to work so decided to restore my backup from pc to phone using smart switch but nothing is happening, says preparing the restore process for .5 hour and nothing. How long does it take and is there another tool that can restore the data I backed up. Progress 0
Can the S20 be jailbroke and what program do I need. If it gets jail broke can I then put in new os, thanks.
New question since no one answered previous one. If I got the bootloader unlocked and loaded a new android 12 version on it, would it then resume normal updates or just stay on stuck on 12 like it is now on 10. Would it make it a non tactical version or remain same.

How did you get this device? These are generally government/military only, and are destroyed when retired. If you happen to be government and/or military, modifying your device without explicit approval is forbidden and could result in severe legal consequences.

Jailbreaking applies only to Apple devices. Android phones by default allow installing apps from sources other than the Google Store; rooting depends on the device. Have you enabled Developer Options? If so, do you see an OEM Unlocking toggle?

Per my first answer, if there were an official update for your device, then you should be able to update without unlocking the bootloader. If not, then no - installing a different Android version will not be able to use normal updates, outside of GSIs such as LineageOS.

This is unnecessary. You have a device that simply isn't very popular, so there isn't very much support for it. Further, you posted in the wrong section - as a Galaxy S20, you should have posted this in the Galaxy S20 Questions and Answers section. Posting in the right area gives you better chances of getting help with your issue.

I thought SURE THAT I posted in the right place but if not I apologize and I thought I answered the questions about how I got it and if it has updates available. I know the TE mdl has been updated to A 11 os but don't know if any further. Also what I was asking is if it was flashed with A 13 os would it get updates like a normal S20 mdl would. This was not issued to me but rather purchased online from a seller who sold around 20 of them and the box does not indicate its a Tactical Edition; when I tried to get money back he closed his/her account, so stuck with it.
sorry but i have not find any firmware for your special device
Thanks, that must be why odin won't write to stock firmware. I'm thinking that u must have to have the stock bl firmware to get it to write the rest of the os, not sure of anything. except won't update on it's own.
