hi i have an xda original broken but the lcd screen works fine and an xda 2s with a broken screen i was going to fix it with htc but the price is quiet steep 120 pounds, i can fix the phone myself if i can get a screen but ofcourse i would loose my warrenty
so my question is would the xda original screen work in an xda 2s? are they the same? is their a way to change the screens without voiding the warrent (except htc)
any response will be appreciated
thanks
AC
as far as i know, as soon as u open the device the warrenty as void. they can tell as the screws will loose the paint as soon as u touch them with a screwdriver.
The xda screen is different hardware.
hi, i was wondering is the xda2 screen exactly the same as the xda2s screen, can i replace the xda2 screen with a broken xda2s screen.
thanks

i just replaced my screen with one ebay 30$ screen(hong kong) - works nicely.
Just be sure that it includes touch screen as well - most of the case they come together.
Did this take long to do?
Any problems in the process of changing screens over?

Some ebay screen offers include the T6 screwdriver so you can change the screen DIY way.
I ordered screen without the T6 and choose the easy way out - local gsm and phone shop did the job ( cost in estonia $30 dollars ) .
edit: one thing that bothers me - in direct sunlight it impossible to see the screen..even when the brightness is at its full potential. I dont remember was that the case also with the old screen.
Its really hard to read anything from the screen outside. Other wise the screen is crisp and looks the same as the old one.
I change my Screen a couple of days ago both screen and digitzer (touchscreenpart) i hear that it was hard and ivolved soldering to change only the digitizer so i bougt the screen with digitizer and i followed a guid to take my artemis apart i useed the green plastic tool the torx tool that was included but after a while i relized i neede a smal "cross + " screwdriver (is that called philips) and had to turn my house over to find one but when i found a working one it took about 20 minutes to get the new screen in place. works fine except that i need to use alot more pressure in the top right corner to activate the ok or close tap than i need in the rest of the screen don't know if that is becouse of the screen it self or my instalation or a software issue but it work and i rather push a little harder using my artemis then having it laying around at home with a broken screen.
I have the same bad in sunlight thinngy with my new screen but i will live with it.

i ordered another screen from ebay ( a little more expensive - promised to be ORIGINAL HTC screen?! = ). Will let you know how this works in direct sunlight.
Users with original screen - can you read your HTC screen without problems in direct sunlight if the brightness is at full level?

just try ebay with 'display p3300', I got mine for about 40 us dollar shipping included. it works fine and there are a lot of manuals for dissassembling the artemis. just google: 'disassemble htc p3300'.
watch for the following: the artemis doesn't have torx 6, but torx 5!!! trox 6 won't work.
I was on service with my Artemis and is not the display with problems, the motherboard is broken. Where can I find such part?
You can find the LCD screen with touch screen at http://www.RepairsUniverse.com. It includes fitting guide and ships direct from the US, not from HK.

It doesn't involve any soldering to change only the touchscreen as far as I can see. You can plug the touchscreen cable in the display, just like you plug the display cable in the mainboard.

Hi Folks
THis is my first post on the forum.
I have an I-Mate Jamin, and the touch screen is broken, i bought a replacement part and have taken the phone apart, but i've hit a stumbling block, i now have the touch screen/lcd out of the machine.
However im not sure what do do from here, how does the unit come apart so you can change the touch screen. It all seems molded togehter
Or is there a trick to it?
Okay... Not exactly Prophet Mobile 6 so I'll move it...
I'd take a look here for dissasembly. I also think there may be an HTC service manual floating about the FTP so I'll look for that for you...
If you're trying to separate the digitizer and the LCD, I would advise against it as it may go very wrong... I'd personally try and get hold of the LCD+Digitizer module...
Hello,
I've just broken the display of my P3300
Now I want to replace this because the screen still works...
The screen works everywhere (even where the crack is), the touchscreen doesn't work anymore (nowhere).
Is my touchscreen broken or the whole display? And can I easy replace it?
tx
I've had to replace the touchscreen on my brothers 02 orbit twice , the screen costs around £18.50 of ebay, and is quite easy to replace you'll
find some guides using google,
He's now got hold of an aluminium case to protect from any more breakages
You have to replace the whole screen
i have a problem were i can use my stylus as normal on my screen and it works fine but in my not pad or games there is a problem were it looks like its not working proper as it should ill drew something and the lines are not strait and go very jaged and arnt were i drawed them this is on the xda orbit dose this do it on all of them and if not what is the best fix for this problem thanks for your help in advance hope some one can shead some lite on this
Hi,
Unfortunately for me i dropped my phone and cracked my tempered glass in several places. gladly the screen underneath was perfectly fine after drop however, it has developed a fault as the screen won't turn on at all. I tried turning it off and restarting and although i can hear the boot up logo sound i see no picture at all. i can receive calls but cannot answer due to screen not displaying.
The screen had four main pressure cracks.... one is top left, one on the ear speaker, one bottom middle and one bottom left of phone. hopefully you can see it in picture.
Can you give advice on what to try or do to resolve this? will i need a new screen or disassemble to see what the issue is?
I've only had the phone for 2/3 months at most
Thanks in advance
looks like i will answer my own question....
i bought a replacement lcd & digitiser, one complete unit and swapped the necessary components over to new screen. all is working and good. not sure if the screen is repairable but there are other parts inside this screen worth selling on. it still has a non cracked immaculate screen along with the charging port and other stuff inside old screen.
at a cost of £70, i consider this an expensive fix
Thanks for the input kakawak
cheers
