Hello together,
because I want to work with Voice-Dial controlled from a BT-Headset, I try to find a solution for upgrading the BT-stack.
Also would this allow to use BT-Headset for music and video....(Mediaplayer,etc.)
Did anyone have an idea in which way we can integrate a headset-profil??
May be, anyone can post the related files and registry-entries from a other device, that uses Widcomm/Broadcom-Stack.
Thanx

Handsfree - would be nice for the BMW Car BT as well
Yes, the handsfree Profile in the MDA III is missing and it hurts badly. I can't make it work with my BMW BT Carkit.
Does anyone know how to integrate Handsfree into the MDA III?
I alos would like to see this get fixed.
Just before this site had technical difficulties and lost several weeks worth of posts, there was a thread on this very topic.
It seem to me that progress was being made, but the current BT Profile only allows for Phone audio, not audio from device.
Even the not so good iPAQ 6315 had audion from device support.
I suppose first that I-Mate should fix the BT Profile all together, which is unstable on my PDA2K.
Just to clear this up....
The PDA2K does have handsfree profile. The profile only supports handsfree for phone.
What everyone is asking about is the ability to transfer audio from device to a bluetooth device (headset etc.). Is this profile called handsfree or something else, have read posts where someone mentioned it was called a different profile name?

...Hmmmm....
In a recent online conversation with a "club i-mate" tech rep- I asked about the so-called "Hands Free" profile they advertise the PDA2K as being compliant with....
ME: "My other bluetooth phone would allow me to simply speak the contacts name via my wireless headset and the phone would dial.....With my PDA2K I have to actually use the phone to dial out.......This is not a 'TRUE Handsfree OPeration'....."
Club i-mate: "True."
ME: "So the PDA2K doesn't really support 'Hands Free' profile as advertised, but rather ONLY 'Headset' profile?"
Club i-mate: "Yes."
I have been VERY pleased with all of my PDA2K EXCEPT for the Bluetooth functions. They totally dropped the ball with the Bluetooth on this device....
Interesting news.
Have you tried with voice software on the PDA2K?
Tomorrow (Saturday night now) I will break out the car kit and headset and see what I can learn. The car kit (nothing special, just Supertooth) allows both headset and handsfree, different button combo to activate.

Yes, I have Microsoft Voice Command on my PDA2K.
However, It requires activation by pressing a button on the PDA2K- and will only accept voice commands directly- via its own microphone- It will not activate/accept speech via a wireless headset, like ALL my previous bluetooth phones....
Again, this is not a true hands free mode- and it is entirely a limitation of the firmware/bluetooth radio stack Carrier Devices is using in the PDA2K at this time....
...for instance, with my SE T610, I could leave my phone in my jacket pocket or briefcase- in the trunk of my car, and still activate/voice dial anyone in my contact list simply by pressing one button on my wireless headset....
...as well, I could accept incoming calls just the same, as a tone would be heard in the headset, and a single press would accept the call. The PDA2K will not allow this. My PDA2K will not automatically find/activate my headset when an incoming call is made- it wont even let me use the headset 'unless' I have an active link to it- but when you keep an active link to ANY bluetooth headset and turn the unit off, it will repeatedly turn itself back on and run the battery nearly dead in a couple hours. I discovered this the hard way.
ABSOLUTELY USELESS bluetooth software in the PDA2K.....
I'm using SE HBH60 headset with Qtek 9090, if i receive a call and bt headset is off, i can just simply turn it on and press the button on the headset and the call is answered...If it's on already, i hear a ring in the headset and can answer the call by just pressing the button in the headset.

"...simply turn it on AND press a button on the headset and call is answered..."
Would you care to exaggerate here?
When I recieve calls, if I do not have an active link to my bluetooth headsets, I cannot answer with them... I must first go inot bluetooth manager and click on headset and click on 'connect'- which can take more than a few seconds each time I do....
I have tried this woth my Motorola, several Bluespoon's and my in-car handsfree system.... None will work unless the connection was made 'live' before the call, and then the PDA2K will not stay shut off, thus draining the battery...........

I think part of problem is the required button press, which isn't required on your other phones.

When you have your bluetooth headset connected and the PDA enters the standby mode (for example, you don't use it for few minutes), if you receive a call does the headset automatically reconnect?
I'm using 9090 with Nokia HDW-3 BT headset, and I'm in trouble when I put my PDA in stand by leaving BT activated and the headset connected. It seems that after few minutes of standby the headset disconnects, but PDA's BT led is still flashing... Maybe is there any power saving feature in PDA's bluetooth stack so when in standby it disconnects the headset?
BMW bt car kit
The Xda IIs works fine with handsfree profile BT devices (such as car kits), I have personally tried it with a BMW built in jobby (X5) & a Nokia ck 7w. It also works fine with BT headsets.
I can only assume that the other providers/networks have made the same mistake that O2 did with the XdaII, i.e. use the Microsoft BT stuff which does NOT support hands-free, only headset profiles.
Perhaps one of the clever folk on here can suggest a way to get the O2 version on your phones?

Also microsoft voice command does not support activation by bluetooth headsets, its not a fault of the imate, just no software to accept the voice dial command from the bluetooth headset
BMW BT with XDAII?
Would you please irblinx be more specific about how have you been able to made ANY kind of call through your XDAII?
My BMW series 5 built in BT hands free simply fails to Connect to the XDAII. I'm carrying a SE T68 just to use my car hands free system. Stupid way of using an 1000+ $ BMW extra.
Any help is wellcome!
:?
some confusion here (at least partly due to O2 giving the new model a confusing name!), the xda II does NOT work with car kits.
Only the new IIs works
Headset profile for PDA2K/9090
Sorry for my poor English
I need "HEADSET profile" for my PDA2K
Now all headset work with headset and hands free, but i nead "force" the headset mode with PDA2K
In headset mode (no hands free) I can use one headset for more devices, like PDA2K, notebbok, cellular phone.
In hands free mode the headset work with a device at time.

Hello,
Just purchased a SX66 and wondering if its possible to transfer sounds from one BT handsfree device to another or back to the phone itself. For instance, pick up the call from my headset, transfer sound to my in-car or back to the SX66's speakerphone... This is something I utilized on my previous T616 quite often due to conditions or simply comfort (no speakerphone, but back to the phone itself). The SX66 user guide doesn't mention this sort of switching process.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Ken
Tap the headset icon in the top, transfer the call to the phone and then press the gree phone button for 2 seconds.

Thank you.
I saw that while playing with the phone this afternoon. Also figured out the answer to my second scenario of switching from BT to BT device. Tap and hold the BT device in BT Manager and choose "Connect".

Please help me out I'm incredibly frustrated with this thing. I recently got the PDA2k and installed WM05 on it. It looks very nice and it runs speedy with no problems. My problem is the bluetooth which is huge thing to me. Either my headset (Tekkeon Eztalker Mini) is not compatible which I doubt or I'm making a stupid mistake.
This is what I did step by step: I click on the bluetooth icon and turn on the bluetooth, I then put my headset in pairing mode and the imate is able to recognize it and I enter the Pw and I put Set as handsfree. That's it, I would think I would be done at this point yet nothing happens, the headset doesn't do anything and I know its not Tekkeons fault because I was able to hook it up easily with my HP 6315.
So what's going what am I missing?
Also theres a tab at the bottom called "Com Ports" but I only see under this option "Incoming Port", and the description at the top says there should be another option called "New outgoing port". Does this have anything to do with it?
What Am i doing wrong? It's driving me crazy I can't really use the phone without the headset.
help me out pls
Bluetooth
I know the feeling, i have gone back to 2003 cause of that but now i am back on wm5. The bluetooth issue is not fixed yet, it is not stable, it keeps going off. There is a suspend cab file, but it does not work for me yet, also try pokect zen beta. You might get a longer period of bluetooth
thanks for responding, but the problem is not that it suspends or stops working. It doesn't start working at all even though the imate detects it. It's like it's not connected at all, not that it disconnects. I'm doing something wrong I just don't know what.
The bluetooth piece is not faulty and the unit is practically brand new. whats going on?
I used "Display Switch" binded button (From Wisbar Advance 2) or "Toggle Screen" (From SPB Pocket Plus) to turn off the backlight instead of using power button .
This work around will keep bt connection alive.
Note:
1. If you suspend your BA using psShutXP your bt connection .
2. You have to disable auto turn off device under Start -> Setting -> Power
Note:
1. If you suspend your BA using psShutXP your bt connection will be disconnected.
I'm sorry I'm not sure I'm explaining myself correctly. I understand that if the power goes off I will lose the BT connection but the problem is not KEEPING the connection alive, the problem is MAKING the connection. I follow all the steps , the imate recognized the headset but I'm not able to use it..also shouldn't a headset picture show up at the top of the screen when the bt headset is connected (cuz mine doesnt). what am i doing wrong?
thanks.
still need help please.. if someone can walk me through how to setup a bluetooth connection that would be great cuz I apparently haven't done it right.
The headset icon only shows in Phone app
The headset icon only shows up in the Phone application. It no longer is displayed in the notification area (top row).
If your device is paired up, when you make a call, you will see the headset icon in the top right corner.
You may also need to clear any old pairings that you headset has. I have a Jabra 250 and it happens all the time.
there we go you have solved my problem!. I didnt' have to open up the phone application on my hp 6315 to use the bt. So wait can I listen to music with windows media player through the bt headset or does it only work when making phone calls? I was able to listen to music on the HP 6315, is it different with the Imate or is it the NEW 05 os? Please enlighten me
thank you thank you
also one other thing does this mean that if i want to use the headset with the phone that I have to press the answer button on the imate rather than the headset..cuz that would suck big time.
what about when people call me can i answer with the answer button of the bt headset or no?
It works fine with the headset button for answering or hanging up.

I think I read all of the VoiceCommand 1.6 & Bluetooth threads and tried any of the solutions (0.9f , manual regedit, BTVoiceCommand.exe ... )
But probably I missed something.
First question I could not find an answer for:
How is VoiceCommand supposed to be started after the fix:
a) Does it only work starting VoiceCommand with a Button on the Bluetooth device
b) Should it also work using a Button on the Hermes ?
If the answer is a): My Cars Device has a Button to start calls. If you do not dial a number, then this button redials the last called Number. Is this the right "command" that VoiceCommand listenes for to start ?
If not: Is there a possibility to change VoiceCommand to react to this "command" ?
Is there kind of a Bluetooth- Sniffer to find out, which commands are exchanged between the car and the phone to probably fix this ?
Am I totally wrong and all I need is another Version of WM6 ?
Can anyone help me ?
Thanx
Tode
P.S.: It did not work using the original WM5- OS from T-Mobile Germany, and (Radio 1.1x ) and it still does not work with Schaps WM6 3.30a in german, that I actually use (Radio 1.41.00.10)
Voice command can be activated from your hermes and indeed needs to be mapped to button five on the hermes which is the button on the left hand side below the ok button.
In all my many installations on the hermes it seems to map to button 1 (internet explorer) by default and needs to be changed in start>settings>personal>buttons.
My understanding - and I'm no expert - is that the button push on your bluetooth headset merely activates voice command. in order to do a 'redial' you need to activate VC and say 'redial'.
I would say VC overides the usual behaviour of headset and phone functions.
The 'button' you push on your car stereo would need to activate VC.
Never heard of such a sniffer but I assume that if it is set up correctly then the activation from the car stereo should replicate the button push from a headset and fire up VC.
Have you tried pairing a bluetooth headset first just to make sure VC and the fix has installed properly? It's very temperamental and I generally have to install it quite a few times before the combination of reg edits and power off/resets get it stable.
Oh and I forgot to say that if you have any evidence of Cyberon Voice Commander on the device it almost certainly wont work - seems to be a clash. I chose the cleanest rom I could find (LSVW) and had to remove all the voice commander cabs and fixes from the ext rom the hard reset. This seemed to work once I had added the reg edit to make sure the button was firing up BTVoiceCommand and not BTVCBasic.
found an old B-Speech Headset...
at the moment I am trying a Hard reset and Remove of all Cyberon- Registry Entries etc. Probably it will work with a "clean" new Install.
Thanx for your Tipps, I will tell if it worked.

ok... With my Bluetooth Headset I finally got it to work: I press the Button on the headset, and VoiceCommand starts correctly over the Headset.
BUT: The Button 5 still uses the Hermes' speaker / microphone.
AND: The button in my Car does NOT work the same: It does NOT start VoiceCommand but still recalls the last dialled Number.
So there are two possibilities for me to solve the Problem:
if I could make the Button 5 start Voicecommand over the Headset and NOT over the Handset, then my Problem would be solved. Does this work somehow ?
if I could make VoiceCommand react on the command comming from my Car, instead of redialling the last Number, then it would be ok as well.
Any suggestions ?
Thanx

Hello Everyone,
i am a proud owner of the S9 bluetooth headset and it worked very well at the beginning (1 day). Than i deletes 2 registry settings as mentioned in a forum somewhere (max bit pool stuff) to get better sound quality.
I dont know if it is the cause of the problem i got now but next day the S9 was gone in the bluetooth device list of my touch dual and cant be found anymore. the strange thing about it is that if i press the telephone button on the S9 the ms voice command icon appears and i can talk to it. also the touch dual seems to use the s9 as headset as the ring tone volume is switched to zero and the headset icon appears in the calling screen (after pressing the send button)
anyway i am not able to conect the s9 for music transfer and that is the problem if got..
any chance to delete the touch dual in the s9 settings so it allows a repairing? or somehow recovering the appearance of the s9 in the device list of the ppc?
any suggestions are welcome.. nice sunday everone
Edit:
Problem solved.. dont know how but the pocket pc found the headset finally again..
Glad that it works again for you.
I have a Blueangle with WM 6.1 and the S9.
Can you get yours to play music and have the display off (not dimmed but off). I have found a device lock that works fine while BT is off however when BT is on and connected to the S9 it always wakes up the screen.
What Version of WM are you running ??
Oops, sounds like my yet-to-be-solved case.
What I have: Qtek 9100 and Jabra BT250v. Some time ago I also deleted this partnership (don`t ask why) and when tried to re-establish it again, the device kept declining the connection with the headset. The device finds the headset, asks for a password and whatever combination of digits I enter it rejects to establish a new partnership.
I guess, the problem is in registry. Anyone could help with this one? What should I fix in a registry to re-pair the headset and device? Thanks in advance.
Ok in case anyone else got that problem i guess i know what it caused: i paired the bluetooth headset with my laptop after pairing it with the pocket pc. and although no service could be used (ms bluetooth stack) the S9 didnt use the PPC as standard music device but the laptop. after deleting the pairing from the laptop the S9 i could pair it to the ppc again.
about MDAIIIUser's problem: dont know any way of listening to music with the device turned off. i use AE Button to switch display off by double cklicking the green button or starting S2U2 by double clicking the red one. anyway, if display is switched off and i press a button on the bluetooth headset the display turns on again thats why i just lock the device and dont care if the display is on for some minutes in my pocket..
