Has anyone else noticed:
1) when you use a profile with o2 plus, it erases the settings for photocontacts (caller id). More specifically, the user ringtones don't work, and the default ringtone for the ppc is reset back to default (cingular in my case)
2) when you select a profile, and go back to teh today screen, the plugin (o2 plus) is not drawn to the screen. The space is left there (where it should be) and there are other things above and below it, just it is not there. a soft reset fixes this, until the next visit to select the profile.
any ideas on how to remedy this? any one else have more issues?
thanks in advance

Here's a list of all the cabs that are installed on an MDA Pro. I am trying to find out what they do. Most of the ones I have filled in are thanks to 'Dingo' who has done this for the XDA Exec extended rom.
Signed_UNI_TMO_WiFi_SSID.sa.CAB
Adds a load of hotspot SSID's to 'Configure Wireless Networks' in settings
Signed_SSD_Shortcut_WWE.sa.CAB
Links for sim card manager and enroller
Signed_Service_Icon_Order.sa.CAB
Unsure - perhaps defines the preference order of networks when roaming? Could not see any changes after installing.
Signed_UNI_TMO_Connection_112100.CAB
Adds connection 'T-Mobile Internet' and 'T-Mobile Internet CS' to settings-->Connections. CS=Circuit Switched Data, ie 9600bps
Signed_Disable_GPRS_Autoattach.sa.CAB
I believe this causes that horrible 'are you sure' dialogue every time you try and go online.
Signed_LongDTMF.sa.CAB
Under settings, personal, phone, keypad, sets the keypad option to 'long tines'
Signed_UNI_TMO_UAProf.sa.CAB
See link at end (XDA Exec thread on same subject)
Signed_USIM.sa.CAB
Unknown. Did not notice any changes
UNI_BrowserPerformance.sa.CAB
I assume this speeds up browsing! Perhaps setting cache settings, I dont know.
Signed_Version.sa.CAB
Sets the version no for the extended from in the device information
Signed_UNI_TMO_Setting_111100.CAB
Pah, dunno!
CAB-Customization-TMUK-Universal-01-03-04Aug05.CAB
Adds T-Mobile MMS Settings
CAB-DATEmail-Universal-TMOUK-22Ju105-DataBase.CAB
Localisation settings, I believe (makes clock 24hr)
CAB-Shorcut-TMOENU-08Aug05.CAB
It also sets up outlook to have an MMS account. If you want MMS, then you'll need this (pitty you get other ****e dragged along with it tho!)
It also sticks a link for the elatepushservice (what the heck is this?) in /windows/startup. This link will fail to load anything since the files are installed as a part of the cab: TMO_UK_UI_0727_signed.CAB just remove the shortcut!!
While you're at it, kill the sddeamon file in startup also. This is the thing that mythers you as to whether you want to view the pics on an SD card when you insert it.
Dont kill the pocket outlook shortcut tho - doing so will mean that pocket outlook has no MMS folders.
This also installs the links 'clearvue PDF' and 'EmailWiz' Again, the targets of these links are installed as part of TMO_UK_UI_0727_signed.CAB so trash the links if you are not interested in these features.
Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB
Registry changes and XML settings see XDA Exec thread, link @ end. Read elsewhere that this adds/enables the video call functionality.
TMO_UK_UI_0727_signed.CAB
Files For T-Mobile plugin & Other stuff 'elate push service' etc
TMO_UK_UIShortcut_Plugin_signed.CAB
Shortcut for t-mobile today screen plugin (so it appears in 'items' on today screen)
TMO_MMSNotifySound_0805_Signed.CAB
Sets the sound for a received MMS ;-)
TMO_UK_pIE_0807_Signed.CAB
I assumed that this set Pocket IE home page, but it does not appear to do a thing!
TMO_pIE_HardKey_0810_Signed.CAB
Makes the (t) button on the keyboard point at PIE with tmobile home page
TMO_Streaming_0729_Signed.CAB
I had assumed that this added the Streaming icon to programs, but it seems not!

I'll install the cabs manually when I get time and see what they do.
Note: I installed the imate rom (soft resetting before the imate ext rom got installed!) and then went through the Tmobile ext rom clicking each in turn in the install order from the config file, reporting the results above.
The t-mobile theme comes from the file \windows\t-mobile-tsk, this is loaded as the default theme. Its the first thing the t-mob ext rom does when it installs. I did not install this (dont have the files) I dont know whether some of the later cabs rely on this being present or not (as you'll see above, some of em did not appear to do anything...!)
If someone could post the file /Windows/T-Mobile.tsk I would be most grateful!
I also noticed that in the email app, no MMS account has appeared. But I do have the MMS server defined!
I'm gonna reset again and see whats in the imate ext rom!
Nigel
TMO_UK_UI_0727_signed.CAB
Files For T-Mobile plugin & Other stuff 'elate push service' etc
push service is what is used by tmob for their instant email - blackberry service, i've checked into this and found that service not avail with mda pro yet, but when mda 3 came out not avail with that at start and now with further rom update does
TMO_UK_pIE_0807_Signed.CAB
Looking at the contents for this it appears to set up PIE favorites, also seems to be some sort of PIE plugin for t-zones added to the registry too. If you remove it from the Extended_ROM and hardreset are the shortcuts to t-zones etc. set up in PIE favorites? Don't get my MDA pro until next week so can't try myself.
VELETRON YOU are the BEST!
How bout examining 1.30.77_1.76_1.09.00?
A couple of weeks ago I upgraded my 8525 to WM6 with the official AT&T ROM. During this process I remember setting up the Today screen to show three days of appointments and also what the format should be (I set it up for each appointment to say Today, Tomorrow, etc. I think the other option(s) was to display the date in various ways). My phone
now shows appointments for the following three days and says Today, Tomorrow, Sunday, etc. for the day.
I wanted to play with these settings but I can't seem to find any menu that will let me change what is set up. I'm pretty sure I did this during the initil setup right after loading the new AT&T WM6 ROM. Does anyone know where these settings can be changed? I don't want to do a hard reset and lose everything else I have loaded on the phone. I'm wiilling to hack the registry if needed.
Are you using TodayAgenda plugin? The configurator is in \Program Files\TodayAgenda\TAOptions.exe, or alternatively tap and hold anywhere on the today plugin until the options menu comes up, and then goto options.
Thanks for the pointer, but I am using the stock AT&T ROM, no extra plug-ins. If I click on an appointment and go into the Calendar, Tools -> Options doesn't have any settings for appearance or how many days to display. Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items doesn't provide many options for Calendar either.
I looked at the registry under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Calendar" and just ...Microsoft\Calendar but I didn't find anything obvious that I could change. Maybe some of the other flags there determine how this works but I didn't want to risk ruining my setup so that's why I'm asking here.
Thanks!
go to Settings > Today > Items, click on the calendar plugin, then click on the options button. Can you adjust it from here?
Alternatively, you can try Calendar+, its a free today plugin with more display options than the default calendar plugin
http://www.mohairsofa.com/Default.aspx/document/10
The settings for the Calendar item under the Today Plug-In don't include anything to change the number of days displayed.
I'm trying to keep the number of add-ins to a minimum. I had Calendar+ with WM5, but it didn't seem to work right with WM6. I can't remember exactly what issue I had, but I ended up doing a hard reset. The last update to this software was over a year ago.
I know the functionality is there in the stock software. If only I could figure out how to control it!
RE: T-Mobile myFaves removal.
Hello everyone,
I have a Touch Pro 2 coming in the mail I'm very excited. A big letdown that I noticed in comparison to the EU version of the device is that my home screen has to be the myFaves tab. I was really attached to the flip card style clock home screen. My questions are:
Is there a way to get around this? If so:
Is it necessary that you will need a completely new ROM to do?
Couldn't I just get a copy of the EU edition's ROM, upload that?
Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
I have a TP2 and I will say I do NOT have the MyFaves icon as the home icon. I think that it only affects people with MyFaves, but I don't know. I got mine on launch day too.
If the account has no MyFaves, the Myfave screen will not show up at all.
If you account has MyFaves, it will Default to the MyFaves screen, no Flip clock.
Do get the Clock back.. go to Settings tab, select MyFaves.
Select 1. Display, then select Off.

As I suspected. Thanks for confirming it!
A little trick
In most HTC devices, one can go to settings/system and then click the clear storage icon which asks you to type 1,2,3,4 and then hit yes. This hard resets most HTC devices.
As the device is booting and you get past the alignment screen, the device will start loading the carrier specific garbage that's stored in Extended ROM. As it starts loading those programs, one can use the stylus to reset.
The reset on other devices will cause the device to boot without loading the carrier specific stuff. It would be neat to try that out and see if all the TMO stuff is kept off the device. Then you can load only the cabs (programs) you want.
This way the device acts like you've loaded a very clean ROM, usually increases speed etc.
To reload what was on the device originally, one can just go back to the settings/system and hard reset again and let it do so without resetting during the loading of the carrier specific software.
I'd like to know if anyone has done this with the TP2 from TMO yet?
Tmo TP2 setup isnt all that bad. Not as bad as other carriers.
Only unuseful apps in the program list are, Handango Inhand, Getting Started, and Telenav.
3 games that are NOT trials.
aside from the Tmo Myfave app in TF3D, it is a Usable feature for those who has MyFaves, it can easily be turned off.
The rest of the Apps are the ones usually included in a custom rom.

Hello!
Just an FYI if you do have an account with MyFaves and do not want to do a hard reset, you can simply turn off the MyFaves tab in TF3D. What you need to do is in TF3D fo to settings/MyFaves/Option #1. This will allow you to hide, show or turn off the Myfaves home screen display. Note: even if you turn it off, your MyFaves will still work as normal. Hope this helps!
I keep having to reset my phone preferences (such as my ring- I only want it to ring once) but it keeps resetting the settings to the default for the phone.
Is anyone else having this happen on their Sprint TP2?
***bump***
are you changing your ring settings through the touch flo 3d shell (settings>sound) or going through the traditional windows mobile settings (settings>sounds & notifications)?
My ring settings stick for both methods (or my phone says). I don't get calls enough for me to notice if settings stick.
maybe your ringtone is very long, so it sounds like it's ringing more then once?
I do experience a setting that I want to stick but doesn't. when you open phone, you choose menu > view. Default is "calls and contacts" but I only want "all calls". I can choose it and it'll filter, but when I close phone and reopen, it'll reset to "calls and contacts". =/
Thanks, Tone.
The ring is not long- it's an old fashioned phone ringer. The actual setting changes fron "Ring once" to "Ring."
I am setting it under the options on the dialer screen. I haave also gone through "Settings"; makes no difference.
So I recently hard reset my phone due to some other issues, but I tested if your problem again, and the settings are still fine on my end.
Out of curiosity, do you know what Manila version you have (along with what phone version)?
Mine is Sprint, Manila version 2.1.38416.1.
You can find the manila version with Reg Edit and go to "
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila"
String Value "Version" tells you the Manila version.
If you don't have reg edit, or don't know how to do it, that's ok, just phone version should be enough. I've been discovering from customizing my phone and researching on XDA, that Manila may have different bugs depending on what Manila version you have (and most likely a different Manila version is attached with different carriers).
Same Manila version.
Has been hard reset twice, but the problem persists...
oh boo, that sucks. if you have a phone replacement/repair plan with sprint, I say go to them and tell them the issue. I always ***** at sprint with whatever problem that can't be solved. it's a defect in the software/hardware and if you have the replacement/repair plan, they won't charge anything for repairs. and if they can't repair it themselves, they'll send out a request for a 'new' phone replacement. sometimes its brand new, sometimes its refurbished. depends what they have in stock.
I can not get my phone to filter contacts by just device contacts it always defaults back to all contacts making me have dupes. Anyone else have this or know how to make the setting stick?

this is what I do (if you have contacts on your sim).
enter phone app (call button).
press "contacts" (left soft key) to open contacts (manila shell).
press "menu" (right soft key).
choose "view".
listed is "all", "contacts" and "sim". choose "contacts" to list only device stored contacts.
settings stick for me. but I don't have contacts on my sim card to verify. however, the setting itself doesn't change back.
if you go to contacts (windows app version), I believe you can't do this, because there is no option for it.
this is one reason why I think manila is kind of retarded. it just covers up windows mobile, but there are still multiple front ends / GUI for the same things.
no real help, but i set my phone to ring and vibrate, and every now and then it reverts to just ring!!!
I was having the same problem until I noticed
the Single Volume control. It is above the Phone
controls on the settings panel. I turned it off
and now the phone ring settings stay the way I
set them.
it's a known issue for Sprint TP2's. it will be fixed with ROM update to WM6.5. in the meantime, check out this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=83378&highlight=jfrancisny&page=4. Post #36 fixed it for me.
Hello all! I"m hoping someone can help me out here. Recently, I was given a free upgrade from the Sprint TP (Raphael) to the TP2 (Rhodium). While reloading my new phone with my previous roms, emus and cabs... I destroyed my dialer. KDialer skins is obviously not compatible with the TP2 and now my dialer is cut off... and not alligned (I have to hit 123 for 456 for example). I found Juggalo's TP2 skin and loaded that, but now I am missing the talk/end buttons, and slider for incoming calls (can still see my start page where that is supposed to be). How can I fix this with out doing a hard reset?
move the slider over to settings, then select all settings. Select system and then in there select "Clear Storage". This will erase the phone and take it back to the OS you got with the phone.
It' may not be the only way but it's probably the best way to get your phone dialer and all controls back.
Thanks, but after searching for a couple hours I found the resource file names for the dialar .bpm's and deleted them. Installed a Rhodium Black Dialar and I'm all set.... (BTW, the point of me posting this question was to do this W/O a hard reset, thanks for trying... )
