Hello people ..
I updated my T-mobile MDAIII from windows 2003 to "WM5"
it worked ok & looks cool but I can't connect to the network
& it work just as a PDA not a phone
also when I open "SIM manager" nothing happen & it doesn't open
even when I opend phone & dialed "*#06#" to retrive IMEI it hanged & I had to reset it & didn't show the IMEI#
I noticed also that it doesn't retrive the call duration & read "unknown" in both Incoming & Outgoing
also my phone has 128MB RAM, now it reads 96MB, is that normal with the new version ??
when I reset or hard reset it writes:
"No GSM
D 5.35.04. WWE"
1- if I updated to WM6, will it correct the problem?
2- is "No GSM" means it's not able to connect to a network
3- how I can reactivate the GSM service or connect to the network
Thank you for your help
Not an expert here but with the help from a member here (m a j u) both me and my brother in-law have successful upgrade our SX66 to WM5.
Try a soft reset (use the stylus to activate reset button) on your device everytime after you remove the battery, it work for both of us and should work for you.
Reset till the radio versions show.
Also some dialpad themes seem to cause issues with the phone (I had a problem with iphone theme for dialpad).
reflash radio rom
I'll try the re-flash method too. I've been having problems with a scheduled profile starting up the phone radio in the morning automatically. At night I turn it off but it doesnt come on in the morning, even though I know the profile comes on at the selected time.

Hi, Make sure you have Radio Rom 1.15.00 and none of your profile turns the 'Phone' off automatically.
Newbie loses always the active sync connection just before updating its hermes from WM5 (OS 5.1.195 Build 14955.2.3.0) to the new WM6 (ENG Vers.). It's a MDA Vario II from T Mobile Germany (SIM unlocked!) and I have no clue what I am doing wrong - As soon as the progress bar starts to indicate the update my active sync connection goes down and of course I get the error message "failure connection".
Thx for any help! GeHu
I had the same exact problem. I can't pinpoint what exactly is going wrong (i just got my 8525 a few days ago, and decided to mess with it, so I'm a complete noob at this) but what I did was just use one of the repackaged versions. That did the trick for me D:
I am confused. If you mean you run a rom upgrade and then plug the phone in, then it is doing what it is supposed to do. You should fully sync your phone then run the rom upgrade. The upgrade will disconnect activesync and then put the phone into bootloader and run the upgrade.

It's an activesync problem. Either delete activesync and re-install it and then, try it again and it should work or try it on another computer

Also make sure you have installed HardSPL first.

ok people notice how gehu0003 states "SIM unlocked!"......thus he most probably has a different bootloader.......1.40.olipro im willing to bet.
gehu0003...please do the following:
update to HardSPL v7 : This will make sure your SPL is up to date.
then
go to THIS THREAD....and download the DOPOD WM6 ROM. Use this repackaged ROM since it has CustomRUU which will recognise your updated SPL version. Enjoy.
thank u guys. i am fine now with the new HardSPL.
hey guys,
i'm having problems with this too, it disconnects me while i try to update to the hardspl.
any ideas?
thanks
how it worked for me
i had the same problem, while flashing rom, just before entering bootloader mode with some rom's it would disconnect and drop the usb conection. to fix it, now i enter the bootloader manually : press and hold (on) and (ok) buttons and reset with the pen. it should enter bootloader mode and in my case it doesn't drop usb conection to PC and allow me to reflash
cheers
Hi everyone!
I have already posted this thread on the Modaco forum but I'm still getting no answer. I'm posting it here. I know there are a few threads about ActiveSync problems but none of them solves my problem!
I'm using an Orange SPV M650 (French branded HTC P3300) for a few monthes now, and I've been successfully syncing it with ActiveSync over Bluetooth from the beginning. At this time, I had created a BT COM port with the Windows Bluetooth stack, configured ActiveSync v4.5 to authorize connections through that port ; then paired my PDAPhone to the computer and checked the "ActiveSync" option that was available in the services listing. I was then able to sync using the ActiveSync application on my PPC.
A few days ago I deleted the USB Bluetooth dongle on my laptop from the "Device manager", it's been installed back successfully on the next reboot BUT now I can't synchronize. The "ActiveSync" service no longer appears in the services list of my computer from the device's BT configuration tool. I only have "Serial port" showing.
Reinstalled ActiveSync twice, didn't changed anything.
What should I do?
Thank you!
(here are a few screenshots, French language used)
Up! Nobody's an idea?
i can only suggest something i do when i have similar problems:
1. uninstall everything involved
2. manually clean up all involved registry keys
sometimes, the remainders of not completely uninstalled programs can cause problems if you install them again.
i never ran into your specific problem, but trying this will at least make you forget your synch problem for the 60mins you are busy.
...and sometimes, above procedure even helps!
I had to reinstall from scratch Windows XP for other reasons and the thing is still not working! I really don't understand, I'm wondering if I'm not doing something wrong... How should I do?
Hey..
Hey found this manual for you..
http://www.htcwiki.com/page/activesync+via+bluetooth?t=anon
Thank you. It's exactly that way that I'm trying! The problem is at step 12, the only service available on my paired computer is a "Serial port", not ActiveSync. I double checked that ActiveSync was properly configured on the correct serial port and it is...
i had this problem with XP, i sorted it out, but cant remembe quite how i did it, i have a feeling it was to do with the COM ports that you use for blueooth. upgraded to Vista and no problems, my suggestion is to go to vista, its much better then XP and everything works.
I have hardware unsupported under Vista (pro-soundcard) and my computer is a little bit too old (512 MB of RAM are fine with XP, won't be with Vista). Anyway I'm okay with XP, I won't change my OS just for an ActiveSync problem.
Anyway I updated my Artemis with the B&B 3.7 WM6 ROM and now it works... Was a problem on the phone I guess.
Thank you for your help
I've searched but can't find the answer to this one - sorry if I've missed it somewhere. I have an unmolested T-Mobile UK MDA Vario 2 and I'm trying to install the official TM UK WM6 upgrade ROM.
On my desktop PC (which is properly paired to the phone through ActiveSync to sync with Outlook etc) running the exe results in a grey box with red text saying "Checking files on your PC" forever unless I unplug the phone. Then it will eventually launch the wizard. If I plug the phone in again and wait until it's synced and "Connected", the wizard will go all the way through to checking the existing version and starting the upgrade. However, when the upgrade starts the progress bar stays at 0% and the phone turns off!! Eventually it times out with a 260 error, and no changes have been made to the phone. The PC is running XP, but the only fixes I've seen for the 260 error are if you're running Vista?
I've also tried on my XP laptop - this isn't paired, so the connection through Activesync is just as Guest. The update still does the strange thing with the "Checking files on your PC" box if the phone's plugged in, but unlike the desktop PC the RUU won't talk to the phone at all - connection error before it can even verify the existing ROM version.
Can anyone help? I've been waiting for months to get WM6!
Cheers,
Tim
Phone just turns off?
OK, so now I've done a hard reset on the phone, paired it up to my XP laptop and told it not to sync anything. Now I get to the same stage as I do on the desktop - i.e. the phone switches itself off when the upgrade begins (at 0%), then the RUU times out with an error 260!
One odd thing I noticed is that if I plug the phone in with "Advanced network functionality" enabled (which it is by default) the PC tries to connect it as a new 10mb network card!? However, the RUU does the same thing whether this is enabled or not.
Getting desparate for help now - I've tried 2 different machines and even cleared the phone completely, what more can I do?
Cheers,
Tim
Try flashing from an sdcard. There are quite a post on it here, if you do a quick search you should be able to find the information and hopefully get your device upgraded.
It might be worth installig spl V7 from here before hand just in case anything goes wrong.

Working!
Thanks for the reply. Finally got it flashed using the instructions from here:
http://forums.cingular.com/cng/boar...thread.id=42389&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
Basically, you have to:
- Connect using Activesync and let it finish syncing.
- Start RUU.
- Activesync will close - ignore it and carry on.
- Eventually the phone will go into debug mode.
- Continue through the wizard - it won't be able to identify the existing rom version but this seems to be normal.
- Let it finish!
I was fiddling when Activesync closed - strangely, by disconnecting, restarting AS and reconnecting the wizard carried on and even identified the existing rom properly! It seems that it needs AS to connect to the phone initially, then it closes AS but keeps the USB connection open for the update.
Hope that helps anyone else with the same problem.
Cheers,
Tim
Just got my rhodium today (t-mobile branded unfortunately), it's a great device. Just one weird problem i am having with activesync, maybe someone knows what the problem is.
After installing activesync it works fine, untill I turn off (restart) my computer, then as soon as a connect my rhodium it tries to intialize the connection but gets an error. On the device it says, error with rapiclnt and asks me to send the error log to Microsoft. When i run the active sync troubleshooter it says that connection with the device cannot be established and over some suggestions (stop firewall, enable usb connection).
So far the only thing that fixes it, is uninstalling and reinstalling activesync. It then works fine untill i restart.
Things i have tried that have not worked are:
1. Hard reset the device
2. Soft reset the device
3. Deleted partnerships on both computer and device
4. Removed firewall
5. Unchecked advanced network functionality
The only other thing I can think of is to formate my pc and do a complete fresh install of windows xp. If nothing else this should rule out the problem is on the pc end I think.
Any suggestions are appreciated, thnx in advance.
