is there a program that just does the one function of closing/minimising program windows on the ppc the same way that battery pack (omega) does it???
there is an app called magic button that do the trick...
i think that's what you are looking for....

Anybody knows if exist some programs able to kill the internal process of PDA? For example to kill the BlueTooth driver.
Thanx, M.
Memaid can be used to close hidden tasks. Not sure if it will close drivers tho?

Check out dexplor, I think it's like $15 bucks or something, but it comes with a task manager and a registry editor, as well as a sweet file explorer... I think it's worth the investment.
If you can find a copy, try Pocket Hack Master 2.45
Hey guys,
I have an Ipaq h6315 and it doesnt look like they will be releasing a WM5 upgrade for my system; therefore, I'd like to find out if anyone know of a program, tool, registry key or anything that will allow a Windows mobile 2k3 system to change the display into Landscape?
If you know of anything that might work and could share the info with me i would really appreciate it!
Will V.

Thanks for the reply Vijay. Is that the name of the application i have to look for?
PHM tools?
Thanks again!

Is the 6315 running 2k3 or 2k3se? The original 2k3 didn't include screen rotate, but some people on this forum found a way of copying the Screen Rotation Service from a SE device to a 2k3 device. It was quite a while ago, but there will be something on this forum.
The original topic can be found here...

Findus,
I have regular Windows Mobile 2003 (non-SE)
thank you for giving me that thread info, i'll look and se if it'll work with my device!
Once again, thank you!
I installed the tool posted on the thread you gave me but unfortunately for me it didnt work. Maybe because mine is an Ipaq and those dlls are patched for a himalaya (maybe)
Just wanted to thank you anyways!
I have no specific idea about WM2003 vs WM2003se, but you want to try PHM key tools or something like that. It includes a lot of useful shortcuts, including screenrotation.

Thanks again Vijay!
Would you happen to know if PHM Tools is the same as PHM power toys? I've been looking for it and so far all i've found from PHM is the Registry editor and Power toys.
Thanks for the help!
By the way i tried "Virtual Display" from http://www.nyditot.com/Home.asp and it rotates the screen pretty nice and it has other useful options; however, when accessing the mobile phone application in landscape mode only numbers 1 thru 6 show on the dialpad screen
I'd like to try PHM tools and see if its able to display the dialpad correctly.
I have it
I have a copy of Nyditot and when I used wm2003 I thought is was very good.
Yes, Nydiot is great.
PHM - not sure what it's called now, I've taken my installation apart, but basically I have PHM Keys. Might be part of Powertoys. They're used with voice command etc as well, but contain a bunch of shortcuts. Try them all, they're all useful IMHO!
V
Vijay: Cool! I'm going to download the PHM Power toys since that's the only thing i've found so far (too bad i cant do it now since i dont have the usb cable at work LOL)
Littld: Were you able to see all numbers in the keypad when you used Nyditot in landscape mode?
I still have the tool installed in my PPC but when i try to use the phone in Landscape mode the numbers (dialpad) does not display all the buttons (i'll try to get a screen shot wheni get home)
???
So far I am always having to go into taskman to shut all the apps down. That is a major pain in the bum!!!!!!!
Is there something im missing or is there a app where I can just hit the end key and it will shut it down???
oxios close tasks is free and closes everything with one click.
i think you can set up celetask with a hotkey to close an app you are in but then you have to leave celetask running. i just go in and close apps every once in awhile.
Task Manager
Start > Task Manager
Press "2"
There should be an application to stop services like My5Service and SMSCReceiver and other services from starting that are not required.
Anyone know of such an app or can anyone make one?
JAmerican
try searching the registry for them and remove them
I use AE Buttons plus to map keys to certain things, it works on the Q so it should work on excalibur. I have one key that I press and hold (my email key) and that closes the active application.. kills it that is.
Hey everybody, thanks for all the feedback. Im very new to the ppc and smartphone world so Im still learning, Are smartphones like symbian where if ya leave the app open they stay running and drain the battery and slow everything down?
Isn't the CloseAll app a crossover app fromthe PPC. I thought it worked on the smart phones ?

Hello,
I'm interested in finding out if there's a registry key that controls the feature of Windows Mobile that closes programs to conserve RAM? I'd rather manage my own.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Matt
I think there is not that a key existed. but lots of softwares can do it. like htc x button, spb pocket plus......
Anyone got a link to one that runs on XP?
Thanks.

Thanks. I should have specified I would prefer a free one. I used one a couple of years back, but I forget what it was called, and couldn't turn it up with Google.
Workaround
I use PHM Regedit on the PPC and MyMobiler on XP http://www.mtux.com/ . MyMobiler is kind of a scaled-back (and freeware) version of (overpriced)SOTI PocketController, but has a lot of cool features that SOTI doesn't. For example, you can drag-and-drop cabs from the PC to the mobile screen and it will auto-install them.

Looks nice. Just installed it. However, the one I used before let you view/search/edit the PocketPC registry using a PC-based GUI rather than just remote controlling the PPC in a window.
Sorry for the confusion.
I also use PHM Regedit on my PDA but I use Mobile Registry Editor to access my PDA's registry from my laptop.
Not perfect but badass none the less.
Cheers Doc. I use PHM too but Mobile Registry Editor by Breaksoft is the one I was looking for.
Thx.
Hi guys, I found MRE thx to you guys but when I use it on my Trinity and try to delete some keys it always gives me access denied...

See if changing HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 1 (RAPI) and
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 40 (Cert) help
The MRE FAQ has more info regarding this.
PS (Sept 23, 2007) I had to setup a WM5 Samsung i830 the other day and created this security settings cab... enjoy!
If you download CorePro or UltimateCore they have some great remote regedit software included - saves hunting about.
There's a tool to run a complete dump (to .txt file) of your PPCs registry and one to edit it as if you were using PHM, Resco or even Regedit on your desktop - but in WinXP.
Just found this one. It is quick and looks to have more options than Mobile Registry Editor
