Bluetooth dial up QTek 9090 - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

On the new Q Tek 9090 machine it seems impossible to make a connection with a Nokia 6310 Bluetooth mobile phone for the purpose of using it as a dial up to collect e mails onto the 9090.
In Bluetooth Manager Shortcuts, tap New.. Tap Connect to a network. Use show all devices and it shows the icon for the Nokia phone. Tap the icon. The comment: Service discovery was unsuccessful each time appears. With another comment: the requested service is not running on this device.
The Bluetooth is activated on the phone but it makes no difference.
On the 2020 machines it was no problem to set this up, then in connectivity settings you could choose to use a Bluetooth dial up or the internal SIM line.
Please let me know if there is a fix for this.

Bluetooth Dial-up modem and Bluetooth Handfree
I tried to use the my new XDA IIs to connect to NEC c616 3G phone but fails. Afterwards, I tried to use Nokia k700i that still have same problems. I used my notebook bluetooth and make a connection sucessfully in NEC c616 3G phone.
The bluetooth hand-free are also not stable. I am used to SE HBH-65.
I guess that this is a bluetooth software bugs.

How many Bluetooth devices concurrently?

Hi,
I have an O2 Blue Angel, and I'm keen to use it with:
- a BT headset for phone calls
- a BT GPS mouse for satnav
- a BT link to another mobile for GPRS intenet access (not available on the sim I need to use in the XDA)
Is it possible and realistic to have all three BT links working at the same time?
Cheers

Hi Peter,
I have used multiple bluetooth connections with no problems (after initial problems on 1st release of XDA II). You could however have a problem with trying to connect to gprs and using your headset to make a call, BT GPS & Jabra BT200 work fine simultaneously (when XDA II & TomTom are in the mood to play together!) but mine always disconnects gprs when I receive or make a call.
Thanks, Chop. That's good news.
I may not have a problem with the GPRS disconnecting as I'll mainly be using it for small and infrequent GPS tracking and traffic updates. It might be a pain to have to reconnect though, if my GPS solution (currently CoPilot) doesn't automatically do so...
Cheers
I can not dial up using a bluetooth phone. Does any one esle have that same problem?

Can't use tomtom with telephone switched off.

Hello, I have installed TomTom Navigator 5 in my Qtek s200, but I can't connect it with the bluetooth GPS if the telephone is switched off.
Tomtom runs ok, but doesn't find GPS device.
If I switch on the telephone there isn't any problem, tomtom runs ok and find the GPS device.
I have used tomtom, and dell GPS bluetooth GPS reveivers.
Someone knows if is there a solution to use the GPS with the telephone utility switched off?
Thanks!
ive got this problem too with my xda 1 which i only use as a satnav unit
I use the xda with a wired gps but tomtom complains there is no gps device because the unit is in flight mode, even tho im not trying to use any wireless signals.
anyone help ?
thanks.
I don't know if I understand you right, but I might have an explanation for this. On my Qtek 9100, I can't use a bluetooth GPS-receiver when the device is in flight-mode. Flightmode disables all radiosignals...and since bluetooth is sort of a radio signal, it's disabled as well
A solution might be to turn off and on your device and "cancel" when you're asked to enter your SIMs PIN-code. This way, the device is not in flight mode (so bluetooth works) but the telephone-reception is disabled.
I hope this helps, if not: let me know!

yes that works but the phone device is still switched on so uses battery
the gps in question in my situation is a wired unit going directly to my old xda 1's com port so shouldnt matter if the phone or bluetooth are on or not. Even if the pda was in flight mode it shouldnt affect use of my wired gps as there are no radio signals.
seems like a 'bug' in the tomtom software that if the pda is in any kind of flight mode including the phone being off, it decides it cant communicate with any gps, no matter how its connected, as if they expect everyone to be using bluetooth gps' and just include the wired configuration as a legacy function.

Darn...sorry, I misunderstood. I'm using a bluetooth GPS-receiver myself, so I just took for granted that you also used a bluetooth device And indeed, looks like a bug...not very convenient.

Concerning bluetooth devices:
This seems not to work with Windows Mobile 5.0.
With Pocket PC 2003 devices it is possible to use with TomTom bluetooth while in flight mode.
Here's a work around for Win 5.0:
1) Enable the phone and bluetooth in the Comm. manager.
2) Make the link to thte bluetooth gps in TomTom.
3) Disable the phone in the Comm. manager.
4) Return to TomTom.
The bluetooth link will be maintained until you exit Tomtom or try to link again.
This might also be the case with a wired gps.

Bluetooth pairing issue

Hi all,
i am runing my trinity with WM6 and AX3l's rom. my issue is that i cant connect to my car stereo which is a pioneer DEH-P55. My trinity see's the stereo and gives the option for hands free but the stereo cant detect the trinity. my device is visible to others but the stereo wont pick it up. Any suggestions for a fix on this would be appreciated.
thanks
corm
maybe you have to push a button on your radio to activate first time pairing, that was the solution for my bluetooth headset.
(pairing from both sides)
just a suggestion, maybe it helps.
Try the Jetware bluetooth extension it has a 30 day trial and worked for my Alpine headunit its at http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
Thanks for the replies, but still no luck. I can pair other phones to the stereo but not this. Are there any settings that i may need to activate on the device that i am missing? its abit infuriating as i need to get this up and running as soon as.

activated "receive all incoming beams" ? its in settings/connections/beam
its already activated stormyb but thanks again for helping.
I always had problems using bt and irda...
I never succeed send/receive any file using my pc (my pc irda always worked fine with others devices). Beam enabled on commManager and on settings "receive all incoming beams".
When I try to connect (pair) using (htc) BT I get this error: the connection failed or the passcode is incorrect...
---
One time I tried to send a file to a nokia phone and I needed 30 min to succeed: restart phone, restart BT, restart beam, restart phone, restart nokia, restart BT, restart, restart, ....
Now I'm using the radio 1.46.00.11, rom eLiAs2.11wwe (before I was radio 1.38 and udk rom) and when I pair from htc, on pc I don't receive the pin request. If I pair from pc, I see the request for pin no htc but when I type it: "the connection failed or the passcode is incorrect".
Only one time I was succeed pair (and saved on device list), I typed 3 times the pin code, but after I can't transfer files...
From pc, I see the htc on the device list, if I try the ftp service, htc ask me: "xxx wants to connect with your device using bluetooth. Do you want to add XXX to your device list?" I answer yes but when I insert the pin, the pc give to me this error: "error establishing the connection"
If i try the voice gateway, after type the pin on htc I get this error on pc:
"the remote device closed the connection"
Using this last rom, when I try beam a file, I can't see my pc irda (using the udk rom I can to see but without success), I only see my pc BT but always "failed" the connection.
Nobody has the same problem?!
What bluetooth comms are you using, windows or Widcomm's?
I installed widcomm onto my laptop as I was suffering the same problems as you mention and I couild not get a bluetooth serial port setup either, once installed and restarted the pc then I just powered up both BT's and set the phone to visable and the laptop found it straight away with all the services and could setup the serial port.
I seem to recall there are numerous problems with most BT's when using the default windows drivers etc..
HTH's
hi, I'm using widcomm...
I didn't test again a bt headphone, but I have problems trying to connect to a nokia phone for example (n95, n73).
The irda never works... I tried too with a nokia phone and a remote control software for wm6... nothing...
All ok using headset BT...
I installed blueSoleil BT driver and now it is ok.
same ppc, same rom, same problem with my bt bury in the car and with other ppl's triyng to bt connect to my ppc. i can "see" them they can "see" me but there is no transmission TO me. I can send.
i am using the bt phone (bury) but onlt when I initiate the connection. i think it's a rom bug.

sap bluetooth with VW passat

Hi there!
My friend has an Artemis and a VW Passat with a bluetooth radio (VW).
The radio requires sap, which was not supported with the old windows version that was installed on the phone.
We updated it with the newest T-mobile version (it is a t-mobile device) and now he has the sap-settings.
Unfortunately we still have some problems.
The car now finds the phone, the phone connects and both are connected.
Just to disconnect one second later.
We restared the device, we restarted the car, we changed the settings for the file-sharing.
We deleted the connection and connected again.
We still have the problem that the connection is lost one second after connecting.
Does anyone know the probelm and a solution??
Thanks in advance!
Cholera
noone having hte same problem?
I've got a Seat Leon (effectively same company) & i have had no problems connecting to the bluetooth within my car. I do however, have Meschles latest Rom installed & its based on Windows Mobile 6.1 professional - not sure what your T Mobile device is based on ?
I have had this trouble too. I can connect to the car OK but if I disconnect the phone will not restart, then if I try to connect to the passat again it connects and disconnects. Seems to be 6.1 is my problem. When I roll back to origanal HTC WM6 all is OK again. Maybe it is the new SAP becuae the HTC SAP icon is not the same (oldversion?)
I have a passat too. I've tried it with meschles and with mossis rom. There were
no problems with the bluetooth device.
My passat only can connect with bluetooth over the handy holder from nokia which has to plug in the UHV.
No SAP is possible.
So what system is in your passat?
My Passat is 2008 with premium bluetooth factory fitted (with the pop out keypad). I have to talk with my main dealer because they can change the module for a HFP instead of SAP?

Read Blackstone Phonebook while connected with bluetooth Audi MMI

I'm looking to have access to the Blackstone phonebook when I connect it in rSAP mode to my Audi MMI.
Because I dont have the very brand new MMI with harddisk navigation and new integrated phone) I can only select numbers from SIM card.
Any comments/suggestions?
I've got an Audi A6 and I use software from jetwaremobile.com to sync my HTC with the MMI.
First try to install the demo version and then look for a config file that lets you SWITCH PHONEBOOKS (between SIM and Outlook).
In my Audi I've got to sync the Outlook Phonebook, Incoming/ Missed/ Outgoing calls and signal strenght.
NOTE: Do not try the AUDI MMI configuration that appears on the web page. It's not necessary and doesn't work.
Mode Handsfree vs. rSAP
thx for your answer.
It sounds to me you are connected in "handsfree mode" - could you check the small sign at the MMI display?
Should show 2 x symbols (1 bluetooth-symbol and 1 signal bar symbol) - right?
I have got the same issue with my VW Passat. It worked fine with Nokia phones, but I also cannot get the phone book over SAP with Win Mob. Tried all version patches etc. But have not been able to find a solution.
The work-around: Copy the needed contacts to your SIM, hide SIM contacts in the phone and let the car sync with the SIM card. It is not the best solution but at least it works.
Grtz Remko
Teh reason why...
The reason is the use of a proprietary use of a Nokia phone unit in the car of VAG in the past.
All new cars are able to communicate in the right way of bluetooth..
(I tried it successfuly with my HTC Touch HD and a brand new A6 - all worked perfect!)
Did you use the "Handsfree" profile in the Audi, cause I know this works fine? I've tried this with a few rentals.
The problem arises as soon as you want to connect using the Bluetooth SAP profile. In my Passat I have no other option as SAP and I actually like this function, just this phone book issue...
Handsfree
I dont like "Handsfree" because I have to use my inbuilt phoneunit of my Audi - and so I need the SIM access- Biggest advantage is the us of an external antenna with very strong signal.
Nobody else with a hint?

Sorry for the delayed answer.
Yes I've got two symbols, the bluetooth and the signal bar.
I realized that symbols on MMI depends on the implementation of the bluetooth protocol of the phone. For instance, with sony-ericsson I used to have bluetooth, signal bar, SIM entrys (not phone contacs), incoming, outgoing, missed calls, etc.
But with Motorola the only thing I used to get was the bluetooth symbol (no contacts, calls, etc.)
This is exactly what happend when I first connected my HTC, so I searched for a solution. Since I have JetweareMobile I've got the same features than with sony-ericsson, and even more, because I can sync both SIM and PHONE contacts.
It's nicely resolve because when you toggle to PHONE CONTACTS, you get your contact's names in the MMI with a /W, /H and /M for work, home and mobile numbers (you may have several numbers per contact)
If you have the bluetooth car kit and you're having problems, give it a try.
Same result without jetwaremobile.com
ok pitaXDA - thx for your answer.
So I was right - your are using the HTC in "Handsfree" mode - this works fine with the standard Bluetooth Software installed on the HTC - you will not need this extra peace of software.
I don't like the handsfree-mode, because it only uses the Bluetooth connection for the phonebook.
I'm using the rSAP mode - because I want to use the external phone antenna of my A6 and also the phone funtion at the HTC is disabled (like Airplane mode) to save power. The disadvantage for me is the use of phonenumbers stored on SIM only (there is no synch of the "normal" phonbook in that mode)
