Hi all
I Realise lots of this has been asked before but
I've read through the forums and there seems to be lots of it works with this and not with this!!!! help!!! Does anyone have an exact answer?
I've had and XDA1, leadtek 9532 mouse, Arkon powered mount(crap interference from the phone ), TOMTOM2 and the stereo hands free and its been a rocking system ....apart from the fact it looks like the cable monster has puked all over my dash. So I'm now about to invest in an XDA2.....fantastic apart from I now know nothing about Bluetooth.....what reciever do I want???.....what handsfree system do I want??? :?: ....and what cradle do I want???? Can the XDA2 deal with talking to the bluetooth handsfree and the gps at the same time????
Recomendations for something neat would be most appreciated. Whats the situation with charging the bluetooth GPS?, it currently takes 4 and half hours to put the cradle on the dash, plug in the xda, plug in the headset, clip on the mic, plug in the radar detector, put the face off stereo in and pick my nose. something easy would be good!!! Thx 4 ure time. M
Hi Mattw
i use an xda 2 and ttnav 2.24 with bt fortuna recieiver and a bt cellink headset. they all work fine together. the nav instructions are given from the XDA and when the phone rings the bt headset cuts in. sometimes after a phonecall i have to start ttnav agian but is still remembers the route so its no real problem.
i also have the Arkon powered mount its horrible isnt it? as soon as there is a decent powered XDA2 mount available ill get it. ( im waiting for Seido to release their looooooooooong awaited unit)

Thanks for you help.....Shall let you know how I get on. :?
Hey u all PDA/smartphone dudes.......hehe
I've got a Qtek 7070, also known as the Tanager, from HTC.
Question is about the connector at the bottom of the phone. Is it compatible with other pda's or phones by HTC ???? if so, I can use those connec.-cable for my phone to connect to a carkit...

no read the Modifying iPaq accessories part

thnx Rudegar,
last Q:
Can I use the "The connector pinout" scheme/layout for my Qtek 7070??
If so, then I 'm able to connect it to a carkit through the pinout to the carkit using a wire with two jacks (1 mic, other ear) which go into the carkit!!

XDAIIi silenced only in broadit car cradle. Not in O2 USB or expansys generic USB. Wife has exactly same XDAIIi and both from hard reset only mine is silenced when on car charge. Can anyone enlighten me?
I have just started having exactly the same problem after installing the latest O2 rom update.
Is there a registry hack or something to send the Tom Tom thru the unit speaker and not try to look for a car mount kit speaker or whatever it's doing?
Thanks

I hope there is but still waiting for the miracle to appear, I don't care if i have to pay someone to sort it for me, I just want audio to come outta my car kit all the time!
I have just applied the 10 K resistor to my car kit and after energizing the relay sound came through the car kit speaker, great i though then the sound faded to nothing after several seconds ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHH
Anyone know of a fix for this
Just tried again and it seems to work flawlessly!
We shall see, i'll get it installed and try it on a run!
I dont have a carkit for the relay to come out of ... I just want the sound of my TomTom to come from the PDA's own speaker. Is there something I have missed in the setup.
It seems that when the Brodit conects to recharge the PDA , the PDA seems to think it has to use an external speaker
Also, I am sure this has only started happening since the last O2 rom update.
I have a Parrot BT car kit (With GPS CK3300 I think?) that works great, but I'd love to find a holder that has the ability to poer/charge the XDA.... and suggestions guys?
Cheers

Hi, I have recently bought a O2 exec with wm5 and a brand new JASJAR car cradle with a built in GPS receiver. I was told the cradle would work with the exec when i bought it
I have installed TT 5.21. When the exec is in the cradle and i run TT5.21 i am unable to detect the wired gps despite trying the various options. TT5 works when i connect to the BT gps receiver.
The cradle has power and recharges the exec when its cradled.
I have also installed a new rom thinking that it might solve the problem, but it hasnt.
Any help/advise would be appreciated on getting the wired gps receiver to work.
Are you sure it has a GPS built in? Can you give us the details on the cradle and where you bought it?

Yes I am sure it has gps built in. I bought it from GPSforless...details below
PDA Holder - XDA Exec - T-Mobile MDA Pro - I-MATE JASJAR - Orange SPV M5000 - QTEK 9000 Car kit with inbuilt 20 channel Sirf III GPS receiver. This cradle has high frequency microphone allowing handsfree functionality. The high volume speaker makes it easy to hear your caller while driving.
The rom i installed was the one that you created
Thanks for your help on this
Am not familiar with that cradle and to be honest have always used my trusty Holux Bluetooth gps with the exec.
I am assuming it connects via the USB socket, therefore may require a driver on the exec. What does the documentation say?
If all else fails give the vendor a call tomorrow.
Sorry I cannot be a bit more specific.

Hi Psi, I have spoken with the vendor and they informed me that the powered gps is bluetooth. It took me less than 5 mins to get the exec working.
Having now used the cradle and gps, I am very impressed with it.
Thanks for your assistance and help.
