Qtek and Ipaq compatilility - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hey u all PDA/smartphone dudes.......hehe
I've got a Qtek 7070, also known as the Tanager, from HTC.
Question is about the connector at the bottom of the phone. Is it compatible with other pda's or phones by HTC ???? if so, I can use those connec.-cable for my phone to connect to a carkit...

thnx Rudegar,
last Q:
Can I use the "The connector pinout" scheme/layout for my Qtek 7070??
If so, then I 'm able to connect it to a carkit through the pinout to the carkit using a wire with two jacks (1 mic, other ear) which go into the carkit!!

22pin connector on the Blue Angel same as Himalaya?

Hi,
I'm pretty much new to this, but I recently bought a Qtek 9090.
I want to make a DIY carkit for it and found this very usefull info.
The thing is: is the 22pin connector at the bottom on my device (Blue Angel) the same (and same pin-setup) as the Himalaya?
Thanks!
Grtz,
DUTCH
Anyone know?

What is that port/hole next to the USB port?

Just want to ask a simple question. What is that port/hole next to the USB port? I'm considering the Excalibur/T-Mobile Dash and learning about it before buying.
Thanks,
lie_ui
It is the port for the Headset
The port is for Headset with Mic.
Thanks. I thought the Excalibur uses the same USB-port for the headset as well (just like the TyTn). Or it can use both type of headset then as i noticed the USB port is the HTC custom one just like one in the TyTn?
I think they both are for headsets -- in a perfect world there'd be a standard headphone jack on the dash somewhere...

From the internal photos on the FCC OET web site, it doesn't look like the second hole is electrically connected. I think it may just be for connecting a lanyard or charm.
by my device(dopod c720w asia model) it is nothing ,just a hole.
joychui, did you get the game Another World of your dopod c720w ?? I saw that it comes on the phone from asian reviews. I tried getting it but wont run correctly on the usa Dash?
thank you

What do they charge for this?

FM radio?
3 in 1 USB Adapter HTC TyTn P3300 etc...
Nice tool, will be useful for my mobil
If connect it with HTC and 3,5 jack headset will FM radio work?
Well if you have a Hermes, no amount of adapters will make the FM radio work... Doesn't have an FM radio chip onboard.
Artemis has radio but if you plug in the headphones via an addapter like the one shown above it doesn't work, neither does it work if you use the mini USB to 3,5MM socket version, great for normal headphones but forget using the radio with these - Mike
Yes, I have Artemis with FM on board.
Thanks for an answer,
I thought that adater includes piece of wire that can be uses as FM antenna.
The addapter does not contain the correct conections to enable the Artemis to use it as an aerial so you get no reception when doing this. The only other way I know of is to cut your plug off the supplied headset and solder up a 3,5MM socket to it (there are some wiring diagrams of how to do this in the Artemis section of this forum) - Mike

safe2talk lead for orbit

Just replaced my XDA2i with an orbit and am trying to find a lead that will allow the orbit to work with the O2 speaker kit thingy. Looks like it's made by Ora / safe2talk and that they are standard things but you then buy an end cable to suit your phone. I have the Brodit mount, and the mic is wired behind the upholstery, so this seems the best solution, but if there is a better one I'd be grateful to know
Thanks
Mike

help: exec and GPS cradle

Hi, I have recently bought a O2 exec with wm5 and a brand new JASJAR car cradle with a built in GPS receiver. I was told the cradle would work with the exec when i bought it
I have installed TT 5.21. When the exec is in the cradle and i run TT5.21 i am unable to detect the wired gps despite trying the various options. TT5 works when i connect to the BT gps receiver.
The cradle has power and recharges the exec when its cradled.
I have also installed a new rom thinking that it might solve the problem, but it hasnt.
Any help/advise would be appreciated on getting the wired gps receiver to work.
Are you sure it has a GPS built in? Can you give us the details on the cradle and where you bought it?

Yes I am sure it has gps built in. I bought it from GPSforless...details below
PDA Holder - XDA Exec - T-Mobile MDA Pro - I-MATE JASJAR - Orange SPV M5000 - QTEK 9000 Car kit with inbuilt 20 channel Sirf III GPS receiver. This cradle has high frequency microphone allowing handsfree functionality. The high volume speaker makes it easy to hear your caller while driving.
The rom i installed was the one that you created
Thanks for your help on this
Am not familiar with that cradle and to be honest have always used my trusty Holux Bluetooth gps with the exec.
I am assuming it connects via the USB socket, therefore may require a driver on the exec. What does the documentation say?
If all else fails give the vendor a call tomorrow.
Sorry I cannot be a bit more specific.

Psi

Hi Psi, I have spoken with the vendor and they informed me that the powered gps is bluetooth. It took me less than 5 mins to get the exec working.
Having now used the cradle and gps, I am very impressed with it.
Thanks for your assistance and help.
