why is so hard to get the sx56 to get connected to do an activesync.
i have changed usb ports, etc and usually the only thing that works is a reboot of the workstation.
Have you upgraded to ActiveSync 3.7.1?

Help why my activesync cant connect with my PPC?
Thanks
Did you use xp sp2 and activesync 4?
I used to have ActiveSync 4.0 problems too... Device manager detected the device but failed to install driver.
In my case it started working once I swaped the cradle's USB connector to another USB jack with the PDA in the cradle.
Windows XP found the "new" device and installed properly this time... Now I can Synch fine through USB.
Also some say that you need to change something on you PPC, so go to Start/Settings/Conenctions/Network Cards and select "Remote-NDIS Host" and change it to "Server-assigned IP address" and then Ok, Ok, Ok...
I hope this helps you...

Hi everyone.
I'm having a trouble with my Blue Angel Activesync. After installing and uninstalling Norton Antivirus (I only think this could be the source of the problem), the pocket PC doesn't connect to my PC anymore.
When I put it on the cradle it tries to connect as guest and then quickly disconnect (impossible to establish a relation).
I tried to uninstall and reinstall activesync, with no result. I also tried to use it with another Pc and it worked fine, so I'm convinced that I have a software problem with my PC.
Another interesting thing: if I leave the Blue angle while rebooting the PC Activesync mekes me connect and set the connection properties, but fails to syncronize...then disconnect...
I really don't know what to do.
Thank You in advance.

When I try to apply the WM 6 ROM I lose my connection when it displays the "Updateing the ROM image on your PDA Phone..." - the activesync connection closes and the screen on the pda goes black. After about a minute I get ERROR [260]: CONNECTION
Cingular 8525
Windows 2000 PRO
ActiveSync 4.5
Try using another usb port in your computer.
Disable ActiveSync's use of the USB port (under Connections I think). Reboot.
Worked for me after I bricked my unit because of the same problem.
Recovered, of course
Just use the sd-card flash. Works always and fast!!!
Had the same problem I found out that if i change my USB port it works fine. I've also changed my usb cable - and now it works on every USB port in my pc
Hi - I updated to the official HTC rom a while ago and can't sync via usb any more. I've tried on vista (64 and 32 bit) using wmdc6 and 6.1 and xp using active sync 4.5. On a new install it see device tries to active sync and dissapears almost instantly then never connects again. no matter how many times i reboot, hard reset, etc... i can not get the computers to see the diamond or active sync it, nothing. I want to try another rom but can't because the usb won't do anything. I can sync and see the device via blutetooth without an issue, it seems just the usb. Any ideas how to fix this or u;pdate the rom with usb? thanks in advance...
Try putting it into bootloader mode.
Then connect via usb, and try a flash
I'm trying to set up a sync with my work PC, using a standard mini-USB cable (i.e. not the one supplied with the TP2). My home PC syncs fine using a standard cable, but my work PC is saying "USB Device not recognised" when I connect the TP2.
Does anyone have any ideas for how I can fix this?
TIA
Does your works pc have activesync 4.5 installed on it?
Mine gave a similar error until I put it on. You will need administrator priveledges to install
Yes ActiveSync 4.5 is installed - I was previously syncing with my old phone (Eten Glofish M700)
I just managed to resolve it:
- killed the Activesync tasks in task manager (anything beginning with wce*)
- restarted ActiveSync
- deleted the sync settings from my last phone
- plugged the TP2 in again.
hey presto....
