[SOLVED] XT1792 Custom Roms Problems - Moto G5S Questions & Answers

All custom roms are either slow charging which freezes at 90% or sim card not working.
1- Roms with normal flash = slow charge.
2 - Deep flash roms (vendor patch) = no LTE/4G
Solved with downgrade stock 7.1.1 NPPS26.102-49-8 6 release-keysM8937_34.10.03.48R and upgrade with the latest RETBR.
I was using only RETAIL before and apparently it was giving a bug for that.

Upgrade from AEX 4.6 to RR 6.0 (kinda lost) ?

Hello everyone,
It has been a while since I toyed with my Zuk Z2 and I totally missed the Oreo train.
I would like to update my custom ROM with the newest Resurrection Remix OS but some things are still quite unclear.
I saw a lot of talk around updating the baseband version to enable offline charging. And some users also recommend to flash a stock ZUI Oreo ROM before flashing any custom Oreo.
My question is : can I update only my baseband using (fastboot or TWRP) and then directly flash RR 6.0 using the standard full wipe ?
Does that make sense or do I have to take the extra step with the stock ROM ? If so : which version should I install ? 1.9 and then let the OTA do their job ? Will it lock my bootloader again ?
Finally, what step should I take to make this upgrade as easy as possible ?
I am sorry if those questions have been asked lots of time before but I can't figure a clear answer about all of this,
Cheers,

Since you are currently on AEX 4.6, I believe that the offline charging is not working. Even I am on 4.6 and I have tried few Oreo ROMs. I think if you are on 1.76 or 1.70 baseband, you are good to go, flash RR.
Question is do you really want offline charging to work? Personally I'm not going to go through all this hassle for just making the offline charging work. I have been using AEX 4.6 without offline charging for a long time and I don't care if my future ROM has it or not.
Yeah, you can flash baseband using fastboot or TWRP

Thank you for clearing my doubts.
I flashed RR, went smoothly, everything seems to work as planned except for the camera : I do not have the HDR option, and I think a lot of options are missing. Do you have any ideas about that?
As you said offline charging is still not working, and I do not really care neither.
EDIT: Alright, I installed "Arnova's Pixel2Mod v6" and I now have a working camera. Do not mind my question. I also noticed that you posted the link (on another thread) where I found the Camera mod, so thanks again for your help!

Using GCam? HDR option should be working, try the recommended one's from here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
Slow motion is not working. If you have dark video issue, use OnePlus 5T Cam.
Thanks again for that link, seems like I edited my last post while you answered !
Here is a little feedback after ten days of usage :
My camera started acting up : usually when going through the camera's gallery the application will crash. I will try another Gcam.
I also noticed that my calls are not working. I can dial someone but when they pick up the call we cannot hear each-other. Does anyone have experienced this kind of situation ?
Everything else is working smoothly, better than under AEX 4.6, sadly with those two main problems I may have to try something else.

Volte loosing issue in oreo roms

i have tried each and every oreo rom available for lenovo p2 and using jio roaming
i am facing volte loosing issue after certain reboots in every rom,
i tried swapping sim cards, flashing stock rom using fastboot and did all the ota updates, tried adding ims to apn type, adding some build prop lines and also tried vreating new apn ! still no success
not facing same issue in los by code elixir but dont want to use it as it has less customizations.
any other solution available for this problem ?
i know most of the developers dont use volte so dont care much about volte but most of the indians are using Jio som cards for calling and internet accessing purpose
So devs i humbly request you to find solution for this issue...
Ya its a big issue in using Oreo rom. I am back to Lineage os 14.1 .
Flash the modem of the stock ROM when you lose the connectivity. It worked for me.

VoLTE is a PIA for developer's. not just because the code is proprietary (meaning no access to the source code).
the Dev's so far have not focused to fix VoLTE for Oreo hence the issues. they focus on other major more important fixes first.
Oreo is a major re-write to C++ compared to Nougat.
VoLTE on 14.1 is stable because the Dev's have figured out a proper way to make it work. Which is not yet the case with Oreo. so if you want stable VoLTE stick with Official LOS 14.1.

How to flash stock modem .
I am on AEX.
---------- Post added at 07:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:46 AM ----------
I think AOSP roms have volte problems.
When I am on AOKP os volte working fine..
Yesterday I flashed AEX which is based on AOSP.
Volte gone.
One way to get back the volte is by changing the sim card from 1 to 2 or vice versa. This will get you volte. And then if you want to change the sim cards back to original then do so. The volte will stick.
Other one is, flash the stock ROM modem or an LOS modem. It worked for me with stock and RR modem.

miui 10 oreo ota

Just got the ota for the global stable oreo update, is it any good? does it have any bugs?
I got a message "updater process ended with error :7" can't in stall OTA.
That means that ROM is not for your phone for whatever reason. Your only option is to flash the firmware with mi flash tool.

I've done update to lastest 10.1.10.OAGMIFI ROM after flash new recovery (TWRP 3.2.3). But I don't recommend it.
8.0 ROM is worst then 7.0., XPOSED made bootloops, TWRP BACKUP is not working properly and stopped working completly so I had to FLASH ZCX-TWR again, do FACTORY RESET (because partition was ENCRYPTED) and flash stable 10.1.1.0 NAGMIFI 7.0 again with Magisk 18 and Xposed 89.
I have been uısing 8.0 for a while now. Performance wise its quite good, no havent encountred any bugs (except for fingerprint when I lock my screen while playing games. Most likely because of ram). The main issue is battary life is quite bad compared to 7.0 due to disabled throttling. Yes the cpu does not throttle like the previous miui roms so it can reach 2.15 GHZ and there are no overheating issues. If you are not playing a lot of games like me you would feel happy about this rom I think. If you play games, depending on your priority (battary vs performance) you could again love this rom.
The phone still throttles, as expected. You can easily test this with the app "CPU Throttling Test".
I'm happy with 8.0, because I can now (finally) use AptX with my Bluetooth headphones with vastly improved audio quality.
In my case the battery time remained the same, compared to MIUI9 roms.
My phone is not rooted or anything.

Best custom rom for Mi A2 lite

1.Which is the fastest, smoothie, bettery saving custom rom for Mi A2 lite?
2.Which is the fastest, smoothie, well optimised(ram management aslo) custom rom for Mi A2 lite?
Please help me and thanks in advance.
I went through several custom ROMs and ended at Android 10 crDroid. Even though most custom ROM devs now switched to Android 11 (R) development, from my experience the R ROMs are still too new and too buggy for daily use. A custom ROM probably won't help you save much battery, but for RAM management, you'll see massive improvements given how terrible it is on stock.

What's the situation now? I realised that the phone is no longer getting security updates which is not great. I haven't flashed custom in years, but I remember it was a bother to get banking apps working. Is it still a problem? What's the most reliable and secure custom out there?

Almost all of the custom ROM available for Mi A2 lite is very stable and bugless. Ram management was never a problem in custom ROMs and battery life provided by customs is very near to stock ROM ( keep in mind the battery is very old).
Banking apps should work fine. But it also depends upon the app itself. You can pass safety net and app requiring only safety net should work fine.

There isn't a "best", your experience will determine which is the best for you. I have tried POSP, arrow, crDroid 7 and all of them are very stable and up-to-date. They differ only in customizations and such. Search what do you want and see the specific features of each ROM.
Battery life and stability cannot be compared across users and different ROMs. You can choose any one of the ROMs, all of then are very good for daily usage.

Random screen flickering
Phone gets hotter
mh ihave non of this bugs
What version of realme GT ME do you have?
3363 Have now tested it for a few days and found no bugs. since the update my battery life has also improved. Before the update I had to load every 2 days. Now after 2 days I am at 60% if I do not use the device often.

My friend , you say that those are confirmed bugs on realme forum , most likely the indian region phone model on an indian forum . I don't confirm any of those bugs , had a dirty install (without cache wipe/reset) with no issues and also made a clean install for testing purpose . No heating , no batery drains , no screen flickering and no 5g connectivity issues at all . Phone in discussion is rmx3363 (EU model) on Rui4 with more than an month of usage on the beta software. You should take the phone to a service or at least test-it with another sim installed (for me vodafone 5g is great) i've got the same feedback for both 6/128 and 8/256 mainboards
