POCO F3
Suddenly, The mobile data connection started to fail.
It suddenly disconnects, and I have to turn airplane mode on and off to get it to connect again, but it doesn't take long, it varies, and the connection is lost again.
And when it's connected, it's very slow, but a lot, it went from a 15mbps connection (before the problem), to a .3mbps connection. I have installed several ROM'S, and nothing fixes it. Another thing I've noticed is that suddenly he also started using Roaming when he didn't have it before.
Update: Testing with another mobile, with the same SIMCARD, i can connect to my red 4G, but in this POCO F3, when i tried connect to 4g cant, I get a notification that the selected network cannot be connected, The only one that accepts me is the one with 4G R (I think it's roaming).
UPDATE: Also I think that is a problem of crash of the Band 28 LTE
My modem often crashes too, since I bought the phone last year. Standard ROM, no unlock/root, updates when FW goes out.
I mostly see modem crash when the phone switch from wifi to LTE to wifi to LTE etc when I go outside. At one point I notice I have no data connection, sometimes it displays the "no SIM card" icon, the modem program loops and crash and the phone becomes warm because of this and lose its battery real fast.
Only cure is to reboot the phone.
Hi, my phone just started having a very similar issue after working fine for almost two years. I am on T-mobile in US, where are you? Did you find out any more info on this?

The truth is that I never found out, what I did find out is that my IMEI of my cell phone had a report of theft (I bought it second-hand) and only 2 networks (from my country) grabbed me: "telcel and altán", of which altán only got roaming and only telcel got the original 4g, on the other hand "at&t and movistar", nothing, only the company detected me, but they didn't get a signal... No way, I gave up, I switched to the only one that if he caught me it was Telcel (even if he didn't want to).

A lot of people complain about modem crash since the beginning, Xiaomi never fixed it. It seems the problem is happening when switching cell towers/wifi. At one point you notice you have no data or the "no sim" icon, you have to reboot.
I was experiencing that a lot when I was on a MVNO for the major networks (Mint Mobile, Google Fi, etc.). Upon switching to AT&T Prepaid, I am experiencing far, far fewer disconnects. Some particular locations will give me the exclamation point, but by and large it's much better.
It seems everyone is torn in half, between this glitch being software related, or hardware related.
I have tried everything to blocking out certain bands with network guru, to taking my phone apart and looking for some kind of issue. Been through countless roms, and firmwares, and kernels. I've gotten a new Sim card too. Have tried Compressed air. with nothing seeming to solve this issue permidently.

For what it's worth, I'm also using a custom ROM (Arrow OS 13). I recall a while back there being kernels people developed that attempted to address the phone restarting issue.

Phone does not restart. It's just that at one point, you notice your data are not working, you cannot enable them, nor make phone calls, you may have the "no sim" account, your phone may go warm because the modem is constantly restarting.
In the end, you have to reboot your phone and everything is normal again.
As it about always happens while outside, I cannot connect a usb cable to dump logcat or others.

Try to put some pressure on the phone screen, not too much, push down slightly or press it together in your hands while holding volume up volume down and power button. Let me know if this helps

Were you listening to something on Bluetooth via mobile data?
were you driving?
What was the ambient temperature in the room or outside when this occured?
Just trying to narrow down hardware or software.
My poco f3 likes to reboot with the no Sim error, when I'm driving around on mobile data, listening to Spotify via Bluetooth.
I'm curious what circumstances other users have encountered this error in, or what they were doing at the time when it occurred
As it happens about only when I'm outside, I can be driving (phone connected in BT) or walking.
But my phone never reboots, never.

So I'm having an issue that is starting to drive me nuts. I have 2 Defys. One is my work phone, one is personal. My work one has been fine for 2.5 months. This prompted me to get one for personal use. However within the last week I have started having issues with both of them randomly rebooting. Always within 10-15 seconds of each other. Work one is original rom, factory reset, unrooted. Personal one is rooted, .360 update, and a bunch of apps. On my to work and back home I can always get them to do this. I get a beep, no service notification, and then approx 2 minutes later they reboot. during this time they are extremely unresponsive. Already called TMobile thinking it was a tower issue, but all checks out well on their end. It's driving me nuts. Has anybody had this issue, or know how to solve it. I don't think its the phones. On wifi they run fine all day long.
Have you tried the newer uicc SIM? Was told by the pda team I should switch over. I told them I was experiencing a reception issue. Since both your phones have gone nuts at about the same time it's either service or aliens. You might try one sim swap and see if it helps.
Both of them are brand new sims right from the box. From what I've gathered they already are the newer sims.
Let me share my experience about random reboots. I had also put it up in here but didnt get much response.
I narrowed down after a lot of experimenting that the reboot happens because of one issue - "The phone tries to reconnect to data network while there is very low signal and suddenly goes into a boot"
It somehow boggled me for months on how this could happen only to me when none of the users in this forum had anything like that. I changed the phone too. But the reboot continues. I got an app called Shutupbattery which can automatically switch off data network when network strength is below a certain limit (i set it at -102dbm). This seems to have slightly impacted the rebooting process. I see some improvement but also not satisfied with this app. It still does not completely shut off the data network on the cut off value and hence the phone does manage to reboot again.
I am trying a few combinations of values and seeing if I can arrive at a conclusion. Let me know if this was useful. For me this is something like a deal breaker and I am feeling of giving up the phone or changing the service provider.
I can tell you for a fact that it has to do with signal strength and data. However 4 days after I discussed this with TMobile Tier 2 support, they dispatched techs to the tower and since then...no more issues. The few other towers I have had issues with I've done the same thing and all of a sudden the problem disappears. I've been very happy with the support. Better than ATT ever did. I suspect it has to do with their implementation of 4G. I've noticed when it does this I get a momentary connection to HSPA before the phone drops back to UMTS then GPRS. You can get to this menu bu going to *#*#4636#*#* . Otherwise call Tmobile.
I've been seeing this problem for a few weeks now, with several different ROMs, including the original rooted stock ROM now. In nearly all of my recent calls, I get disconnected one or more times with the message "Call disconnected" and a "Dismiss" button. I'm thinking that this is because of my EVO and not the other side, since usually if they accidentally hang up or something the call just ends without a message box. As far as I can tell, I have good reception (at least according to the bars), and this is happening at home, where I've not had the problem before.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? My wife's EVO is not rooted, and she does not seem to be having this problem. But then again, I've not had the problem until fairly recently either. I've tried updating my profile and PRL with each new ROM, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to stop this from happening?
Go into the settings menu andbupdate both your PRL and your profile. That *should* help with reception related issues.

Unfortunately, I've tried both of those things. I just did some testing today, and it seems that my phone is unable to stay connected during a phone call for more than five minutes before disconnecting, even if I don't touch the phone and just leave it sitting on a table.
Any other ideas? As far as I know, I haven't ever flashed my radio away from its default (2.15.00.11.19), and I'm currently using the leaked stock gingerbread ROM (build number 4.12.651.1 CL41771 release-keys and kernel 2.6.35.10-gaa602b7 [email protected] #1).
Maybe it's time to unroot and contact Sprint?
You can try downgrading from 2.15.00.11.19 to 2.15.00.09.01. You can download it from http://www.mediafire.com/file/jyedjkp1bm5amwm/EVO_Radio_2.15.00.09.01.zip
Afterwards, go into recovery, wipe cache & dalvik cache then flash the zip. You will be taken to the radio update screen and appear to hang. don't worry or get impatient. After it is finished, you will reboot into recovery and see the words "clearing cache" at the top of the screen. Simply select reboot and then you will boot to your homescreen. The initial boot will take a tad longer since it will be rebuilding the dalvik.
Hmm... I'm hesitant to downgrade my radio because my wife has an EVO with the same radio version number and hers doesn't have this problem. Granted, she is not rooted...
I understand. I've downgraded and upgraded everything several times for testing purposes and troubleshooting purposes and have never had a problem. The only hing about flashing radios is patience and not to pull the battery. Anyway, you can always call Sprint and see if they can troubleshoot it for you from their end.

I would contact sprint @ 877-809-6696 (advanced tech supp). Ask them to push a full reprovision to your device. See if that helps any. I was having issues when when on the airave, I was unable to receive incoming calls. This corrected it. I did try all the other steps listed above without any success.
This is interesting. I unrooted to test things out before calling Sprint, and the problem went away. I was able to stay connected for an hour (where before I couldn't last longer than 10-15 minutes). Yay, fixed, right? So, I rooted again and didn't install any ROMs or anything, just rooted, and the problem came back.
So, I have a solution, but I don't like it very much because it means I need to stay unrooted. Anyone have any idea why simply rooting the phone with Unrevoked 3 (and doing nothing else) could cause calls to disconnect? I'd love to be able to root again, but I can't deal with a phone that randomly disconnects all the time.
I am interested in this as well as I am rooted using unrevoked and get disconnected as well. I do find that it mainly happens though talking to people who have service on AT&T.. Quite wierd. All I hear is a beep then disconnected. This happens when I first place a call and it rings once or twice then beep, disconnected...
This may not be related to rooting. I'm still communicating with Sprint about this issue, and along they way they replaced my phone entirely, and the problem is still happening. Very frustrating, but it makes it very clear that the problem actually has nothing to do with the hardware. I'm pretty sure there is some network configuration problem on their end now. I'm waiting to root my new phone until this issue has been resolved. It is killing me!

So whats the final call on this ..?
Is it Rooting , Is it network .. i am too getting psyche with this .
I'm pretty sure it is not rooting. But I don't yet know for certain what it is. Sprint thought there might be something wrong with the antenna on my phone, but they had already replaced the phone, so I think that is unlikely. They gave me a femtocell range extender to use in my house. Basically, I plug it into my broadband connection, and it is like having a mini cell tower in my house, giving me a very strong connection. Sure enough, when connected to that, I haven't had any calls drop. However, my phone still sometimes doesn't connect to the femtocell and instead connects to some other tower for some reason. My wife's phone doesn't do this, so I still think there is something wrong with my phone. I may contact Sprint again about this. ...sigh...
What is your area some area evo don't work properly like on rahim yar khan in this time connection don't work properly some signal drop and some time up i sure after few day signal work properly then problems will be solve.

I am having the same issue, out of the blue. No problems up until a few days ago. I'm wondering if it is maybe an issue with a certain version of the Evo. I have a version 002. Thoughts?
Greg_99 any progress on what might be causing this issue?
I don't really know to describe this problem better. I'm running CM10 (lately AOKP's latest build) with default kernels. I've flashed all the radios and tried a bunch of them in solid LTE coverage, I seem to have the same problem every time, which is the data seems to "stall."
It will show full signal, and then if i click a link, it will sort of just sit there, not really doing anything. Eventually it may load, or i give up in patience. Any one have any ideas?

I am using at&t stock rom and not yet rooted. Even I have the same problem. Tried to disable and enable data from the notification but did not help. But, when I turn on the wifi, and turn off the wifi again, it works fine. When wifi is turned on phone disables the data and try's to connect to wifi or shows the available networks, but I don't connect and I turn off the wifi, phone reconnects to the at&t data again and then it works fine. Not sure why.

May be a good time to contact your cell phone provider for a replacement.
I was on a cross country road trip running CM9 on my GS3 and I kept running into the same thing. A temporary fix was to reboot the phone. Since I got back, I flashed SlimBean and I haven't seen the issue again.
In my case, I think its the SIM card. I used Google Maps/Navagation on my HTC G2 (using a micro SIM adapter) and my phone got HOT, I mean burn your fingers hot (upwards of 57 degC to 60 degC).
If it happens again I'm going to bring my SIM card back to ATT and have them replace it. I did some googleing and it seems like this is common with the Verizon variants of the GS3.

That's the next step... it means reflashing, and waiting for samsung to fix it though, which sucks a lot.
ive had this same problem and it would piss me off! i found out that busybox was the culprit. i uninstalled busybox and cleard my cache in recovery and all was well once again. if any of yall have busybox installed you may look into my solution.
I recently been having this issue also. But mine is a little bit different. Like my phone will say I am connected to "H" for data but when I load a Page it slightly lags switches to H+ and boom Internet works. When I stall for more then 5 minutes it switches back. I'm not sure if it's some battery conserving feature or what but I have no problem against at.

Has anyone been looking into the bug (dinosaur imo) where the phone (OP3 here but seen reports of same with the 3T) just freezes the screen goes black/off and the LEAD lights up white? I've had this happen with EVERY ROM I've flashed (in recent months anyway) whether it be Lineage, AOSP/Caf or Oxygen based rom. I never had this issue until recently (i.e. few weeks ago) although I remember reading complaints about this a while ago. I've tried grabbing logs, but as I can't duplicate the issue it's difficult and requires a hard reboot which wipes stuff outta memory. i did manage to grab a kernel/dmesg log which survives the reboot.actually I grabbed it by booting straight to recovery and pulling it from there. but as I'm kinda a noob I have no idea what I'm looking at. Lol I hope this log helps. The freeze culprit (if it's there) should be towards the end of the log. I'm assuming it might be associated with OOS firmwares as there the only constant between the Roms (barring it's not a hardware problem) I've tried every combination of Roms FW's kernels superSU magisk unrooted SElinux permissive/enforcing. yet it continues and seems to be becoming more frequent.thanks for any help as it will help the community as a whole

I have the same issue, does the white LED light up in oxygenOS ROMs as well? And you said that you only faced this issue a few weeks ago, had you updated the firmware of OOS?
I remember this on a few testbuilds of VertexOS. Back then it had to do with SDcardfs that where a little buggy. Perhaps that's the case now? If it is not much you can do.
When I go back to marshmallow, this issue magically disappears. Should be something related to the nougat firmware that screws up a few devices

I am myslef facing the same problem since last month. I too tried hard to find what was the problem but never got close. I had this issue on every custom rom. I switched to open beta and the problem followed. I asked oneplus team to flash my device remotely to go complete stock and i had the same problem.
Then i had a function at my hometown. So stayed there for 2 weeks. I encountered the same thing again the day i reached there but only once. The phone acted normally for the rest of the 13 days. I did not faced any issue.
Back from the function, i encountered this twice within the time span of 12 hours. My alarm did not rang as well. Wokeup 2 hours later.
So what i think is that this is somewhat network realted as that is the only thing that had changed in the two scenarios. Will try to use with single sim at a time to find if either of the carrier is creating the problem.

I have found out that I don't experience this issue on marshmallow ROMs. Currently I am on sultan's lineage ROM, and it works well. It is underclocked, I think that helps. Maybe our phones are unstable on max frequencies.
I am using 2 sims as well.
Clock speed isn't the culprit imo as i have mostly faced the issue when my phone was idling, like when i was sleeping. Though it might be a case as well as your point makes sense. Anyways am going to service centre day after tomorrow. Hope they find something before my warranty gets old.

Service centre guys were not able to find any problem with the phone. Although i had noticed something the phone went black this time. I was using my 1st sim's data
Actually that just clicked me. I was not sure though that this could be the problem. Switched back to 2nd sim for couple of days and tge phone stayed good all long. I then starting using the 1st sim's data again and i had those 'phone dead' scenes coming up very frequently. Thought it might be a sim module issue. Swaped the sims cards (1st in 2nd slot now and vice versa) and kept using the data from 2nd sim(it was in 1st slot before) and the problem followed. Switched the data back to 1st sim and the phone played well again. No issues
One sim is BSNL which only has upto 3G network and the other sim is Reliance Jio which only has 4g coverage. Initially the BSNL was in 1st slot and Jio in 2nd. I mostly use my data from jio. But when i want to use BSNL's data, it jumps to 3g network and there are no signals left in jio as there is no network range other than 4g and hence the sim remains deactivated when am using BSNL's data.
Am totally confused now as to what is this happening

Hmm, I see that your problem is completely different to mine. Something with the nougat firmware just doesn't work well with my phone (I would guess something in the nougat firmware/blobs) and the phone randomly freezes and force shuts down when using it (mostly when using it intensively). Maybe taking my phone to a service centre is the right choice. I am pretty sure they will say that there is no problem with my phone.

You are supposed to use Jio sim only in the first slot. They specifically advise that. Now I understand why they advise like that.

But using the jio in the 1st slot also gives the same problem. And apart from that they advise to use jio sim in first slot because some phone have the network changeability (switch between 2g,3g or 4g) only on the first sim while the second sim always stays on 2g while that is not the case with the oneplus 3
Hello all!
Got a weird problem, that at first wasn't much of an issue. But now keeps getting worse and worse.
I'm on ATT btw
I've noticed that when I'm on my home wifi, I will randomly have the following issues:
I can't send or receive phone calls
I can't send or receive text messages
Anything network related just doesn't work
It's very random, but happens frequently, and if I turn on airplane mode then turn it back off, the issue is resolved.
I've tried:
resetting network settings on phone
resetting my home network
soft restart and hard restarting phone
I've tried connecting a router to the stock ATT router and using that as my connection
Everything I can think of, short of reformatting the phone completely which I will probably try later this week
I'm on the latest firmware
When the issue happens, I can turn off wifi and it will show 2-3 bars of network but no lte/5g/5g+ or anything. And sometimes it shows the circle with a line through it.
Thanks!

Are you using an e-sim?
I have t-mobile with an e-sim and i've had this happen before. Ended up just restarting the phone.

Nope, using a normal sim card from ATT.
Lucky a simple restart fixed it, I'm at wits end how to fix this issue....making work very difficult lol
Going to run phone without wifi today and see if the issue comes up off wifi.
Okay, so tested today without using wifi. And while not as frequent, it still did lose connection just now. And I had to toggle wifi off/on for it to regain connection....
Guess my last step is to reformat the phone
Just got the fold4 on T-Mobile and had the same issue over the weekend.
Randomly stops getting service, have bars but no data, sim says unknown. Disable then reenable sim and it works until next time.
Cleared cache, cleared network settings, remove and reinserted sim.
Today is my first day without losing network.

Interesting, going to try some stuff tomorrow to see what I can figure out.
I was away from my house and had no issues, so starting to think maybe it's my location....but not sure.
Interesting, I've been getting this occasionally on my fold 4 with tmobile. I'll have apps that wont update data with a 'you're not connected to the internet' error. I recently added duck duck go browser and enabled the app tracking blocker. I've been wondering if the duck go vpn is the cause. Do you use any sort of vpn?

Yeah I use ProtonVPN, used to use alwayson but ended up turning it off as it was interfering with my Tesla Key function. But whether it's on or off, I still get the issue.
I haven't reformatted my phone just yet, but the issue has reduced a bit the last few days. I'm not sold on it being my phone as this literally only happens while at home.....really bizarre honestly.
Also got an issue now with android 13 that it won't work with my Tesla half the time. It just doesn't recognize my phone as my key .-. really tilting xD

Thanks for the info. It's so intermittent it's very hard to pin down. I still haven't gotten the update to 13 so hopefully that helps you narrow your search some.

I've noticed it less with Android 13, but android 13 broke my Tesla Key functionality....so not sure that was worth the trade off xD
Yeah, I haven't been able to pin point any specific cause which is super annoying....
Well it lasted a day or 2 then happened a few times again.
As this was a new device for me, I noticed it wasn't "activated" on T-Mobiles site. I went through the activation process and that seems to have fixed it for me now (wifi calling too).
Likely unrelated to what you're experiencing but thought I'd mention it.

That's interesting though, maybe I just need to go talk to ATT as much of a pain in the ass as it is -_-*
