It seems that the P6P has issues wirelessly charging and sending audio out the USB-c port at the same time. Does anyone have a workaround? I have dealt with this since I bounght the p6p new in Aug 2022. Steps to reproduce:
1. Place on wireless charger
2. Insert audio device into usb-c port
3. Play audio. Audio will play from the P6P speakers and not the output device.
If I plug the usb-c audio device in first and then put the p6p on the wireless charger, the audio will play on the usb-c audio device as normal. That said, the audio drops out randomly and the p6p begins to charge and stop charging randomly. When observing the issue, it seems that while charging, the p6p thinks that the usb-c device is a charger rather than an audio device. This happens on both my qualcomm quickcharge wireless charger in the car as well as my Pixel Stand gen 2 in my home.
To get around the wireless charging, I have tried 3 different usb-c mini hubs that can allow for charging and audio simultaneously. The p6p will not recognize and work with any of them. My old Samsung S20FE had no problems working with all of these adapters and can wirelessly charge on this charger while playing music through the usb-c port just fine.
I am stumped. I did a factory reset yesterday and the problem still persists. I am on stock OS and the p6p is updated to the newest March 2023 release. Does anyone else have this issue? Any solutions?
I kinda gave up on the issue for months but decided to come back around to it with this newest March 2023 update. Along with having to disable hapatics to stop the double/triple clicks, terrible signal reception, and having to turn off the 5G to stop the mad battery drain, I am really losing my patience. just want to confirm if other have this problem and if a workaround exists. If the issue is due to a defective p6p, ill do an RMA as it is still in warranty. If not, and there is no workaround, I will just have to go with the Sony Xperia or something similar.
Before posting this thread, I went through this section of XDA forums and I found one thread from a while ago with a similar issue. The final reply in that thread seems to have the exact same issue as me.
3.5 mm adapter not detected on A13
After upgrading to A13, my phone will not detect a wired headset that uses the Google 3.5mm to USB-c adapter. Is anyone else seeing this problem?

A few notes:
My car audio system does not support bluetooth, so i would like the usb-c port to put audio through wired as it should be able to do
p6p bluetooth latency is terrible and ruins gameplay using bluetooth speakers/headphones

Hi, I have an official MHL to HDMI adapter, a high quality HDMI cable, using an official charger to power the adapter, all plugged in to my Samsung 40" 1080p tv. I'm running Hypernote 0.2.5.
The problem is that it keeps losing signal and therefore cutting out the display. I at first thought it may be the charger cable, despite it being the original it is very loose inside and so I tried another (a nokia one) which although fits perfectly inside the adapter to power it, i am still experiencing cut outs. My phone network signal is low too, it's low in my house anyway but is lower when plugged in to the adapter. Also although my wife does work it seems to be affected too when connected to the adapter.
I've read that disabling data and 3G may help, but I've not seen any improvement. This is really annoying asbim using all official Samsung products and a high quality HDMI cable to avoid problems and unfortunately have ran into problems!
What I may try is perhaps a different kernel, as it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.
Any suggestions?
tried unplugging the charger?
even if the adapter needed power, it should be able to get enough from your tv and phone.
Thanks for the reply. The charger is required. I first thought that the problem lies with the charger given that with the original charging cable, which doesn't stay firmly in the adapter, upon falling out even slightly it would cut the signal out. Nowbthatcicusee a firmly fitting one the problem still persists. I will be flashing the latest Omega rom, perhaps with Hypernote some essential files have been removed causing instability,. I'll also try Omegas kernel, and then try alternatives as perhaps it's a power issue?
Just seems strange that with all official products I'm experiencing problems, so it must be a rom/kernel issue
I have a similar problem on my galaxy s3. I found that it happened when my treadmill was running. do you have anything like that to cause interference?
I woke up yesterday to find the micro USB end of my charger cable had melted while plugged into my phone.
I have used this cable for months, it was plugged into my macbook pro overnight. Not sure what happened, but there was a popup on my mac that said "USB port disabled...device drawing too much power..." (paraphrase)
Anyway, my phone, cosmetically, is fine (save for the burnt plastic smell), BUT the headphone jack doesn't work, and I can only use speakerphone to make calls or the caller doesn't hear me. (also tested the mic w/ voice recorder app and it doesn't work) And now no matter what cable/brick combination i use, i always get the "slow charge" message.
So I am pretty sure it fried at least the mic. the headphone jack, and messed up the charging port.
Any idea if this is worth fixing? Or even possible to fix?
The charging daughter board is around 15 bucks on eBay. It's fairly easy to install.
I wore out my charger port so I replaced it and everything works now except the mic. I've since research and it seems there are two mics once is the speaker phone mic on the charging board and another on the secondary board but can't confirm this. I'd recommend buying from Amazon as that may be a more reputable dealer. I'm forced to use a headset now to talk
Thanks for the info.
I reflashed the stock kernel and this somehow fixed everything but the Mic.
Now that the headphone jack works, I can use the headset to talk.
Still having issues with the charger port... Always get the "slow charge" message, and the phone will intermittently stop charging unless I unplugged and plug back in.
Might buy the replacement port as per your suggestion. But, I had an upgrade and was able to get the LG G3 for free so I will tinker with the M8 and see if I can't fix it for fun.
This includes the official headset adapter included with the phone, and all of my other usb-c cables I previously used with this phone (before the update) and my old Nexus 6P, including all charging cables connected to various a/c adapters and usb-c car charger in my vehicle. Since the update a few weeks ago, literally the only usb-c anything that is recognized by the phone is the phone charger adapter/cable that came with the phone. All other charging adapters/cables will be recognized by the phone as charging the device, but the device will not actually charge, even slowly. This seems like a pretty serious problem.
I have not attempted to perform any form of modification to the software or firmware or anything like that.
This is also probably unrelated, but the phone now crashes every time I load up Netflix on the phone within about 60 seconds of playing a video. It reboots, then I can open Netflix and run it fine for hours. But if he close it and open it again, crash. Super minor issue though compared to the usb-c problem above...
Any help/tips would be appreciated!

This Netflix issue is something that I'm experiencing as well.
But I'm sure Razer Support will put the blame on the Netflix app..at least that's what they did when I told them about a Skype call issue that I'm experiencing.
I wonder if you have encountered that problem as well...for details on that issue, click here
Hey,
it would be cool if you could perform the following steps to generate
a bug report zip containing useful information:
1. Reboot the device
2. After reaching homescreen, plug in one of the usb devices that worked before the update
3. Go to developer settings -> Generate bug report
4. Upload the generated zip here
Thanks!
Alex
Recently my phone had been having an issue with the usb-c plug. It won't connect to my Jeep through the USB plug or an auxiliary speaker when using the adaptor and an aux cord. Had anyone else experienced this? I've tried different cords for both, powering off and on the phone and clearing cache for Android Auto. Nothing seams to help. I can still charge it through the cord so I don't think the port is bad. My next step might be a factory reset to see if that helps if I can't figure it anything else.
Did it ever work?
No it didn't. I contacted Google about it but I have not heard back yet.
Are you positive that your USBC/AUX converter has DAC?
Yes. It worked without any problem from when I bought the Jeep in October until this past Monday. It's a 2019 Latitude. Jeep said their is no reason it shouldn't work from their end. If I connect my wife's iPhone their version of Android auto, whatever it is, comes up. So it's not the USB port. On the Android forums it looks like allot of people are having the same problem. It seams to be an Android issue.
I had the same issue about 6 months ago. I tried everything and ended up warranty returning it.
Update: getting a replacement. From what I've read on other forums wireless charging is creating issues for some phones. All the problems I'm having match the problems others are having because of the chargers. Just something to keep in mind.
My phone does that when using a USB hub with HDMI, it does work with my friends S20+
What can it be?

Dex needs a Knox-App called "KnoxDesktopLauncher" in /system/priv-app/. Make sure its on your device. Maybe you have deleted it.
Not sure if related, but today I noticed similar issue on my regular S20 with USB-C earphones, they kept connecting and disconnected, which resulted in media pausing, and audio playing through loudspeakers. Wiggling USB plug gently, and phone recognized earphones, only to lose connection shortly against.
Gently Wiggling USB connector in all directions, including pushing it deeper, and pulling it towards yourself, reproduced the problem everytime, which leads me to believe the USB-C port is broken.
This is strange. My phone is just around 4 moths old, I very rarely use USB-C earphones, and last time I checked (around a month ago), everything worked fine. The only thing I plug on a daily is a charger, never in a car, or in any place where port might be stressed.
The reason why I noticed this issue only today, is because I wanted to listen to some music, and had AKG USB-C earphones laying close to me.
USB-C charging cable managed to break the port, in such a short time, just wow.
By the way, charging works fine, USB is acting up only when data transfer is involved.
So check with other USB-C devices, maybe your port is also broken. Plug bundled AKGs, play some music, and wiggle plug gently, music will pause if connection lost. Also you'll see headphone symbol flashing in and out.
I think people might not notice this issue, because pretty much everyone I know switched to wireless, so this can remain unnoticed for months, or longer.
And what's the case with root? I've rooted mine with magisk and since then Dex only connects/disconnects... Is there any option to get it working on a rooted device?
Same problem here, not Dex (i don't use it) but with charging.
It keeps connecting/disconnecting while charging if I move the cable. Really annoying.
It sometimes also charges slowly or not at all while it does say it is connected...

I think our phones have broken USB-C ports, and also, after reading many reports, starting to believe that S20 series phones have a weak port design. I'm very gentle with my tech, so at least in my case, it's either manufacturing problem, or a bad port design.
From what I gathered online, first symptoms of a failing port are problems with anything data related, like in my case, USB-C earphones connecting/disconnecting causing media to pause, then problem becomes more severe, when it's not just media pausing, but phone losing data connection entirely, resulting in complete connection loss to a peripheral, when you have to wiggle plug to reconnect, only to lose connection again shortly after, and finally, these data issues lead to charging issues, like ones you describing, connection loss to a charger, appearance of charging.
I still have around 20 months of warranty left, but sadly right now need my phone badly and have so much data that I need to back up, so warranty is not an option, at least for now, I have to buy wireless charger, in case USB-C port fails entirely. S20 keeps disappointing me.. Sigh.
