Both should work with the Note 2014 edition.
it may not be an issue especially if you put the samsung note into a case, but since the note comes with the S-pen and a slot for it, where would you store that bamboo stylus...

Um, actually that card will not work, as it only has a microsd slot, not a full SD card slot.

I personally own the SanDisk one you listed and can attest it works in my note 8, and don't see any reason it shouldn't work if the note 10.1 2014 (and I'll be very sad if not, since as you can see they aren't cheap to replace, lol). The Samsung one should be fine too, i just don't have personal experience with them, though I've heard great things in reviews.

I am ordering a case solution for the new 10.1 that has a stylus holder as part of the case. That allows me to use the S Pen when I want it because it will be in the 10.1 but also have a different stylus available on the case if I want to do that. Is there a such thing as a full size nicely weighted stylus that feels more like a regular desk pen that will work with the Note? I'm not looking for one of those things with a foam blob at the end. I want the defined tip like on the S Pen.

sounds like you're looking for a stylus from the BAMBOO family. they make a lot of those defined tip styluses. I'm unsure if it'll work with the note 10.1 but they work for other devices and ipads so i assume it should..
I didn't realize that Bamboo was made by Wacom. Turns out they do have a version of this called the Feel that works on the Note devices and according to Amazon reviews it is a pretty decent device and appears to be exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.

I have the Note 10.1 and use a stylus made by Samsung that works great. Im counting on it working just as well on the 2014 Note. Here's the link.

would it be a given that the eraser works? I would expect that the individual apps would have to implement that. S-Note, for example, is probably taylored to the pen that comes with the tablet, which doesn't have an eraser, so I'd be surprised if it worked.
Does anybody have experience with erasers?

i think so, the pen is made by samsung so i'd assume all the features would work on a samsung tablet right off the bat. theres an eraser button you can click on screen so i see no problems as to why it shouldnt work
I have a bamboo feel and it is a little more responsive than the spen or the Samsung pen with the eraser ( which I also have).Worth the price in my eyes unless you just have to have the eraser built in.

I just recently purchased the bamboo feel for someone since im giving my original note 10.1 to.my gfs daughter. I currently use the thick BT s-pen. I LOVE IT, very expensive but I dont use the bt features often. I took felcro tape and wrapped around pen then I took removeable 3m tape and out in back of tablet case, no issues.for 2nd pen. ..bamboo feel seems a little stiffer on pen end then the others. They all work. Just have to consider your budget and what you prefer.

Everyone in my house recently switched over to the Galaxy Note 2. We love the phones, but for some reason, I got stuck with a defective s-pen.
My stylus doesn't do the same basic functions as the others, such as screen capture, quick commands, etc. On the other hand, it can do things the other pens can't, such as swipe between screens while hovering an inch above the glass and open apps, links, etc. by clicking the pen button while hovering an inch above the glass.
I love the bonus features, but the lack of basic features makes it unusable. After some research, I found all the guides to adjusting the potentiometer. I popped the button off the s-pen to adjust the little screw...and it's not there!
Here's a pic comparing everything: http://imgur.com/a/pm7EE
So...any help? Has anyone run into this before? Is there any way to fix this? I bought the phones used, so maybe this stylus is 3rd party?
I'm guessing that I can't swap this out via warranty now that I popped it open, so any help fixing is much appreciated!
The pens arent locked to a specific device. Try one of the others and see if it gets normal functionality. Otherwise you can buy a new one for 20-30$

I've actually tried all the pens on all the devices. Two of them do all the expected functions, while the one is okay for clicking links and such, but it won't do screen shots, quick command, etc. The thing where I can use it to swipe between screens or click links without even touching the screen is cool, though, so I was hoping I'd be able to get it to work and have the best of both worlds.

Come to think of it it sounds like the tip button is stuck in. Try pushing the tip in on one of the regular ones with a piece of tape or something and ill bet you get the same functionality as the messed up one. So maybe try putting the tip in rubbing alcohol or something to get it unstuck

The tip seems to work fine, and taping in the tips on the others doesn't replicate the issues. For example, taping up the tip on a normal one doesn't make it so that I can swipe pages and open links without even touching the screen. Plus, this still wouldn't explain why the inside components are different.

Here's a link to a OEM part from Amazon. If you choose to order from somewhere else. Then just make sure you're receiving original Samsung retail packaging! That way you know it's real

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. I haven't seen 3rd party units that are branded as Samsung before, so I was hoping I could figure out a way to keep the extra features and restore the basic functions. Oh well!
Hi,
Just wondering if anybody any recommendations for note taking apps which have implemented a software algorithm for palm rejection?
Thanks

Try inkredible. Not 100% guaranteed but with their optimizations they say it is
FYI our tabs don't have a wacom digitizer so I guess palm rejection is out of the question via hardware it all comes to software which would be difficult
Ah cool, thanks!
I will try that out.
Yup i knew the S Tab doesn't have a pen digitize like Wacom or N-Trig which is a shame especially for the premium price you pay.
Damn evernote doesn't have software palm rejection. haha
Yeah well that's life you can't have em all.
Well at least they got Palm acceptance
can anybody tell if there is another pen working with The Zenpad 3S 10
the zpen is garbage
is the Bamboo ink working?
what digitizer is build in?

Been wondering the same thing. I haven't tried the Z Pen, but it's a bit pricey to take a chance with, even if I plan on trying to get a few years out of this tablet. Did you ever find anything?

That's too bad, but thanks for the quick reply.
Crud...Came hoping to find an answer to this question, too. The z-pen bites completely.
Offset is ridiculous, pressure sensitivity is really shoddy, and actual note taking and or drawing is as bad as if I was using one of those rubber-nubbed capacitive stylii that come bundled free with pretty much everything.
I love the tablet itself, but this stylus is a joke. I just can't afford to throw money at replacements unless I know they work. Almost makes me wish I still had my Note Pro 12.2...

Ya, I paid the high price for the Asus Pen and it broke..
Anyone find an alternative? The pen six for many reasons, including the holding clip is cheap and breaks easily.
I've got a Lenovo Pen for my convertible laptop but I've not tried it on my tablet. To be honest I didn't even think of it until I saw this thread. I'll give it a try because the Lenovo pen is really nice. Should I try and special apps etc? I'm on stock ROM and don't think I'll be rooting this device for a while.

Hi everyone. I use my tablet with the stylus to take notes at college. It's been great, with some minor but notable inconveiences about palm rejection being a bit wobbly. Is there any good app to make the tablet stylus only when I decide it? TIA

thanks for the answers. for taking notes I use Nebo, and it's great, but what I am looking for is not a note taking app, but an app to turn the tablet into an "stylus input only" device, to prevent palm rejection with the stylus being wobbly. Something like that. It's confusing, I know. But thanks anyway
Hey, I tested many apps and I can tell that the best ones are xodo and notewise.
I think that xodo is the best on Android but is damn expensive with their monthly subscription ; fortunately, the free version is more than enough. Notewise is cheap with a one time small payment and has an amazing UI but has less features than xodo. And the free version of notewise is limited to 3 notes so if you're planning to using this one you'll have to pay it.
The one that works best for me was Flexcil, although the free version kinda sucks, the paid version is a beast like no other

try also "MyScript Nebo" it has pencil support
Of course you can go for touchnotes or jnotes, they both have all features you imagine but till now, touchnotes is more stable with stylus pen, and cheap if you want to pay one time.

I don't think is possible what you want,. The pen touch part is the same digitizer for hand touch, yet different parts of the same driver, even you can inhibit the hand touch in the driver by adding a routine to disable at will the hand touch, your hand will still touch the digitizer/screen inducing touch events over the pen input, maybe you should ask Xiaomi MIUI developers to fix their drivers instead of finding a way to workaround that.
