Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB variant compares with Mi Max 3 6GB variant

Hi guys,
How Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB variant compares with Mi Max 3?
I feel Mi Max 3 will be on positive side for
1. bigger battery (5500 mAh vs 5000 mAh)
2. quick charge 3
3. IR blaster
Whereas Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB variant will be on positive side for
1. Near stock android (vs MIUI)
I use Nexus 6. I do a lot reading on it. Many times I read in split screen mode in two apps (say two instances of Microsoft Word, one through ES Parallel Space). Nexus 6 has broader screen (16:9 ratio). It was launched in 2014, but still have higher resolution and pixel density than both Max 3 and Zenfone!!! This makes it best to read in split screen mode in two apps. So I feel bigger screen of Mi Max 3 will be suitable for this purpose.
Also its stock android is great. Split screen functionality of Stock Naugat is better than that of MIUI.
I also feel MIUI provides better control over backgound apps and hence battery. I live with my four year old Nexus 6 in always on battery saver mode. This helps to extend battery life to at least 1 day. If I dont use battery saver mode, it will barely last for 15 hours. Also my Nexus 6 lags quite a lot now. Opening some 40 page word docs takes at least 5 sec. Will all this be gone with both Max 3 or Zenfone?
Also Nexus 6 had great camera with OIS. Mi Max 3 have AI camera while Asus Zenfone have 16MP phone. Dont know which one will have better camera at least better than Nexus 6?
So was guessing what will be best choice for me.
Hi there. I think you are comparing apples with oranges. MM3 is 6.9, Max Pro M1 is 5.99. It is a perfect hardware match for redmi note 5 - so there you should compare. Regards!

yeah I know there is 0.9" difference.
But I am not trying to compare them with each other, but with my usage scenario. Thats why I explained how I usually use it.
Usage scenario 1: Two Microsoft Word documents in split screen mode each 40+ page.
Usage scenario 2: Satisfying camera (at least better than Nexus 6)
I believe broader screen like Nexus 6 serves better when it comes to my usage scenario 1. Zenfone seems a bit narrower. In fact, in todays market, most 6" phone is narrower than 6" Nexus 6 due to their 18:9 ratio (Nexus 6 is 16:9). Also two instances of Word should work smoothly in split screen. My 4 year old Nexus 6 lags considerably at this. I dont know what is culprit: old processor (but its 2.6GHz quad core)? slower / smaller RAM? or battery?
On paper, M1 is good but users report M1 has some problem included multitouch problem, not so good on battery/matterial quality
Ho boy.. I have Nexus 6 too. Was my daily driver until I ditched it for good with my Max 2. The worst thing about Nexus 6 was the camera, it's barely useable. Also fingerprint, the battery and SoC efficiency, I would trade AMOLED 1440p and front firing speakers for those any time of the day. Once you are in 10+ hours SOT territory you don't ever want to go back.
Also MIUI is not that bad at all, it's not as intrusive and forceful as Huawei EMUI. It looks clean and still have material design language.

Hi. I didn't come from OP3, I have used Mi 5 which also has SD820 like Op3 So I can't tell about OS optimization as OP3 has Oxygen OS. Battery life is definately better than mi 5. I usually got 5.30to 6.00hr sot with Mi 5 whereas now with Redmi note 5 ai I get 9-11hour sot but remember Redmi note 5 ai/pro comes with 4000mah battery whereas Mi 5 or OP3 has 3000mah battery. Gaming sot is different. Gaming is more less same but Graphics is slightly lower than Mi 5. I didn't notice any performance issue with RN5 as I use less apps. Multi tasking is fine. Sound quality relatively same. If you want Full view display and battery life then go for Redmi note 5 pro or ai with higher rams. Otherwise stick with your OP3. Hope it helps.
Cheers.
comming from op3T -> way better battery life, videos are crap, camera is slow and slightly worse, occasional stutter and this phone may require a little bit more patience than the OP3.

General (Info) Oppo Reno Pro 5G

See:
https://www.xda-developers.com/oppo-reno-5-pro-mediateks-dimensity-1000-plus-launches-india-2-weeks/
Oppo Reno 5 Pro has been really successful in India with all its 5G features and the Mediatek 5G chipset was the highlight of the show.
Overall, the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G is a decent value for money. It boasts a luxury design, a brilliant display, a long battery life, extremely rapid charging, and cameras that are rather decent. However, video quality could be enhanced, particularly in low light, and I would want to see stabilisation at 4K. It also wouldn't have hurt to have stereo speakers.
Highlights :
Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G has a large 6.5-inch display with a refresh rate of 90Hz.
The Dimensity 1000+ processor supports 5G and performs well.
The Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G offers 65W rapid charging, which allows the battery to be fully charged in less than 40 minutes.

It depends on what you want in a phone. I have had the ultra 20,the 21, and currently the red magic 6. The 21 is worse than the 20 by alot, so I won't go over that. The ultra 20 has a better camera, samsung dex, and is water proof.
The red magic 6 has a better battery, a fan which is 100 percent needed for snap dragon 888, or it underclocks it self slower that the 865. The red magic 6 can maintain 5300 on the stress test wild life indefinitely, the s20 will lower it self down to under 3000. In terms of a game I tested, RuneScape that means the red magic can keep 40 plus fps on max settings, while the s20 will go under 10 fps after 30 mins. The s21 goes to 10 in like 5 mins, and a S7 plus tablet goes to 10 in about 45 mins.
The side button is super nice, it turns on the fan and gives you full control over the phone cpu and gpu, with a bunch of other gaming features.
I use it also for a daily phone, the included charger can charge the phone full in about 15 to 20 mins.
So if you play games on your phone the red magic is by far superior to any Samsung phone. If you want a water proof camera, and more generic phone the s20 is better. The only other thing better on a Samsung is Samsung dex if you intend to hook it up to a monitor or tv, red magic can hook to a tv through usb c to HDMI, but it is no where comparable to Samsung dex.
The screen is way better than any Samsung phone also, with complete control over colors and 60 to 165 hz, vs Samsung generic controls. The s21 is even worse where u can't control anything it just does it for you.
For 600 dollars it can't be beat, if you ask me.

That's exactly what I was wanting to know. I play COD mobile daily for a few hours at least. I play on the highest settings allowable. The S20 Ultra handles it perfectly with what seems to me to be buttery smooth graphics. I guess what I want to know as well is if the f/ps on my Galaxy was as good as thr Red Magic would be. I never tried using a monitor or whatever to check performance. I have run benchmarks and they aren't the best. I guess I use my experience in game to make a judgement call. I had no idea thr Red Magic smoked it that badly in performance. So I'll ask one last question. Would I have a more pleasant and more importantly, a noticeable difference graphically and responsiveLy with thr RM6?

Yeah I think that's what's stopping me. I play a lot on my 4k tv through Dex on my S20Ultra and it's as good as a console to me. Maybe not a ps5 but for a free mobile game it's pretty amazing. So playing on the RM6 through USB c to HDMI wouldn't be as clear or smooth as the Galaxy S20Ultra with Dex through hdmi to TV?

Question Google Pixel 6 (Pro) an "flagship" phone...

So, I have some Nexus and Pixels phones in the past, and went to OnePlus, 3, 5, 6 and 7 (Pro).
I still have the 7 Pro with 12GB RAM and 256 GB memory, I bought this due the pop up camera (privacy) and stock ROM experience.
Fine, now I'm consedering buying the 6 or 6 Pro, but what I find weird is, why is this nice Tensor chipped phone named a "Flagship"?
Like, some competitors have 65W, 100W, 125W battery charge possibilities and this phone is still stuck on 30W, what even isn't maybe 100 true.
Still try to find a reason, because all the rest is nice...

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has 25 W "fast" charging. Yeah, the charging may not be the fastest (it takes about hour and half to two hours) to fully charge the phone. Or you can get used to charging overnight with Adaptive Charging feature.
It's called Flagship, because it has flagship cameras, performace can be called flaghsip-y still, it has flagship 4K 120 Hz OLED (Pro version), flagship sounding stereo speakers, flagship haptcis and so on. The software support is the best, but be careful and test everything out - you may get a lemon in terms of display or connectivity (December update should fix it). Mine P6P is flawless.
