Question ADB not seeing the 9 Pro - OnePlus 9 Pro

Okay, this is getting kind of ridiculous. I cannot get any computer to see the 9 pro via ADB devices.
This is my 4th Oneplus phone I currently own. So I know what I'm doing. All my other phones have bootloaders unlocked and rooted. No issues, until now. I just bought this one. Been waiting for the unlock bin file because it's the T-Mobile variant, but found out that I don't need the bin file to unlock the bootloader, but need ADB to see it !
Fastboot devices will see the phone but not ADB. I even just reformatted my laptop and started from scratch. Followed all of the guides I could find, and I STILL cannot get ADB to see this phone. Why is this phone different ?
Anyways. Anyone have any ideas cause I'm out of them.

Install all the proper drivers. How are you connecting the OnePlus 9 pro to your PC?
Are you using windows or linux?
If you are using linux, I can't help you out.
Enable USB debugging via developer options and go to USB configuration:
Select usb debugging as the default.
When you want to transfer files, select file transfer.

Also, do you have access to another usb cable?

Hi and thanks for the link. I have tried all of that except the universal drivers which I just installed. No difference. When the phone is booted it shows up as USB composite device. And when I try to update the driver, even after disabling driver verification, it will accept the driver but will show a small yellow icon over the newly installed driver.
In bootloader mode ADB does not see the phone but fastboot does. It looks like this could be a driver issue but the only Oneplus drivers I've found are from 2012.

Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in windows - google this
then reinstall oneplus 9 drivers from manufacturer
OnePlus messed up the signature of their drivers for the Oneplus 9 pro and windows doesn't install it properly.

Yes I did that. It's currently in that state of driver verification is currently disabled. I can change the driver right now with no problem. But it's still the same result. Are there newer drivers than from what I found ?
Thanks

Can you show me a picture of your device manager? Also how is your device connected to pc - Direct usb-c to usb-c slot or adapter? If so, I recommend using a pci-slot based usb-c connector port.

It's connected with a USB A - C cable. In device manager it says kedacom USB device. After installing the drivers from the link @TheGhost1951 sent me. It now set itself up as a Universal Serial Bus Device - ADB interface.
In bootloader mode it shows up in device manager with whatever driver I had chosen from before. ADB still can't see the device on either my desktop or newly formatted laptop.
So a pic of the device manager will show basically that. Whatever driver I have chosen. But any driver I chose, ADB still won't find the phone. Regardless what I do on either computer.

Can you tell me what should be the proper name of the driver that should be installed ?
And do you think that this might be a hardware issue ?
Also, I've noticed that debugging is randomly getting turned off.

If driver is correct, your device should show up in device manager on PC as a port with description as 9008.....ex:Qualcomm USB hub 9008 or something similar. Google latest Qualcomm USB drivers... Make sure driver signing is turned off on PC, there should be a watermark in bottom right hand corner stating test mode. One the correct drivers are installed, reboot PC and then you are ready to start the MSM tool process.

Okay thanks for that info. But I have yet to see that qualcomm port yet on either of my computers. No matter what I do it doesn't seem to change anything. Certainly nothing near having a qualcomm port in device manager.
I would be willing to completely reformat my laptop and install the recommended drivers from this post if I knew it would definitely work.
But I'm starting to think at this point that this might be a hardware issue.

Windows Phone Driver Error

I'm suddenly having a problem with my Nokia Lumia 800. For some reason my PC is failing to install the Windows Phone 7 portable device driver. I get an "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)" error.
I've tried un-installing the drivers and reinstalling them but I still get the same problem? Any ideas? Thanks

Make sure that you have the automatic driver downloading from Windows Update turned on. You can turn it on in the "Installing device drivers" screen when you plug in a USB device.

No luck with that.
Uninstall the drivers for Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone USB.
Restart the PC and then attach the phone.
Try to use a different USB port.
If that don't work then i'd suggest a new USB cable
I've tried a different USB cable that's working with another Nokia Lumia 800 in the office and still the same problem. I've tried different USB ports and I've also tried this USB Cable and Lumia on a different PC and it installed the drivers correctly and worked fine.
Is there any settings that I may have changed that could have casued the error code 31. The phone charges up fine from the USB port, what ever is causing the 31 error is the problem?

10. Click Browse, locate on the C drive the Program Files/Zune/Drivers folder, and then click OK.
11. Click Next and if you're prompted, click Install. You may only be given a Close option.
12. After the driver installation is complete, Close the open windows until you exit the Device Manager. If you're prompted to restart your computer, do so when you can.
(13. (In case of syncing problems) Go to Program Files/Zune and find Zune.exe, right click, select properties, then Compability, check run as administrator and hit ok. Run Zune a gain, and an admin prompt will appear)

Instal ADB 1.43. It contains drivers for windows. When ask install them too.
I had similar issue about 2 years, when I had Oneplus One. Eventually it turned out it was coz windows 7s driver recognition went kaput, because some local usb device messed up windows 7s driver recognition
I am also having this same issue.., I am 100% sure it's not driver issue. I've tried in Linux PC., Even QCom Diag mode (to use unbrick tool) doesn't work... Only I'm able to charge phone at USB speed. Dash charge as will as OTG doesn't work. I even got a USB-C port replacement and still am having the issue. Last week gave my OP3 to OP service centre they also confirmed some issue in board and can't be fixed without replacing entire motherboard (Stupid folks!!).., I'm rooted and on Oreo.
Any leads/advice on this issue is much welcome...

Hi Guys,
Update on this thread:
Since I got no response, I was somehow managing with my OP3 but now this issue has grown like blocker for me. Now despite connecting with PC, Charging line is also not working properly.
So, I connected to charger last night. It charged only till ~70% and phone was fully heated up. I tried reconnecting charger and phone doesn't show its charging. Then assumed some cable/charger issue and continued using. Evening when I connected back, it was charging but dead slowly. Like from 20% to 50% in 3-4hours! So, this deems phones as almost dead, forcing me not to use it any longer. Pls help with any suggestions to resolve this...
I am having the same issue if anyone found any fix please let me know
I'm having weird problems with the PC to USB connection on a oneplus 3. Im trying to get it to recognise so that I can flash it back to stock, but my PC always gives the "the last device malfunctioned" error and it always shows up as "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)"...
This happens in MSM bulk mode, fastboot mode and even in recovery mode. Tried it on a windows 7 and 10 pc, no dice, can't even install the driver. Tried a different cable too. It works completely fine on another op3...
Replacing the USB c port didn't work either. Has anyone had a similar issue? Charging works fine...
I'm hoping it's somehow a software issue because otherwise it's looking like a mainboard issue and these seem quite expensive to replace... so any tips or advice are very welcome
Thanks already

Try a different usb cable. I was using an anker usb c which finally worked. Got an original dash charge and it craps out. The usb c port on our phones is just weak compared to modern phones. Mine is giving out slowly and gradually after more than 2.5 years and I have to angle the connector at times for the charging to start. Guess it's slowly dying

It's not the cable. It works fine on another phone and I tried a samsung and anker cable....
My particular issue was similar to ROKLAF here in this thread
thread
my phone entered Qualcoomm crash dump mode after flashing pixel experience. When connected to USB it would show up as "USB Device Not Recognized".
MSM downaloder tool also does not recognize my phone
After updating
Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 Drivers - FOR THE 64-BIT ARCHITECTURE : https://www.mediafire.com/file/5wc5nk5adevatrj/QDLoader_HS-USB_Driver_64bit_Setup.exe/file
Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 Drivers - FOR THE 32-BIT ARCHITECTURE : https://www.mediafire.com/file/q1uynnim8arbim9/QDLoader_HS-USB_Driver_32bit_Setup.exe/file
OnePlus Drivers - https://oneplususbdrivers.com/#choose-device
I pressed the volume up and volume down and power button for about ten seconds, oneplus fastboot logo shows up, then it boots into Qualcomm crash dump again.
After this step, turn off the device using volume up and power button for ten seconds
and immediately pressing volume up and volume down button I was able to sucessfully register my device on MSMDownloader tool and unbrick my device via a fresh install.

Oh i see
Try developer options, if i remember it right, i believe there is a setting about USB access in OOS.
Other than that i don't know except factory reset, re-install the PC, or bad usb port (in either of phone/pc).
I have this issue once, but it because my bad usb port on my PC motherboard.

Go through and remove the drivers for all the one plus device then connect the 3. The drivers for the two are corrupting each other. It is a known issue with the drivers for this device. I have to reinstall the drivers on every connect and disconnect from USB.

I only have drivers for the 3. For th OneplusX with the usb, no problem.
Drivers removed but it doesn't works. I think I'll try a reset of my device in a few days to see...
I try on 3 windows computers with differents cables (also the Oneplus one), drivers, no drivers... don't know....

With the one plus devices you can never tell. It could be anything from software to hardware. Next time you connect pull a log cat this might help.
So I try a factory reset: don't work
I downgrade to oxygen 5.0.3 and 5.0.1: don't work
I try on an other laptop where I never plug my oneplus or install drivers/adb: don't work
I also try with different cables (original from oneplus include): don' work
With otg option on, usb debugging on, ... or without, don't work!
And best is I can't install LineageOS as I have no access on my PC

Yes, I think it's hardware. USB-C don't work with OTG adapter (USB-C to USB and USB key).
Log cat? How to?
I just bought an used 3T and have the same problem. I have tried every possible software solution I guess I have to try to replace USB port but if it doesn't help I don't know what I'll do...
I had the same issue but a fix I found to work was when my Oneplus 3 was plugged into my computer, the dropdown notification that says "Android System" - USB charging this device can be changed to transfer files and after that option is picked, my phone is detected by my computer. Maybe this will help some of you

I'm waiting for a response of the oneplus support. My smartphone is still under warranty so I asked for a RMA.
I had to make a video of me connecting the phone to my computer to show the issue.
I also made a video with an other usbc smartphone to show that all is working.

Moto G5 does not connect to the PC in any way!

So, after upgrading to Android 8.1 OPP28-85-13 . somehow I could not upgrade to version OPP28-85-16 (OFFICIAL VERSION) and so I tried to update the computer, but the same did not recognizes the cell phone.
I already installed the drivers of the motorola 5x, I changed PC, cable, I activated USB debugging, I already changed that MTP option and nothing! The cell phone does not live on the PC, the only thing that happens is that it carries, nothing else! Does anyone have a solution to this? I'm stuck in a version that still has bugs and I can not update anymore ... I've tried everything!
Excuse my English, I'm from Brazil and I can not find anyone here to solve this.
Assuming you did find the correct OTA to go from OPP28-85-13 to OPP28-85-16, you'd have to go to fastboot, and I doubt those options matter then. Also if you didn't sign up for soak test you wouldn't be able to go from a soak to official version through OTA. Check if your PC recognizes your phone in fastboot.

Kinda dumb but you're using fastboot command right? Last time that happened to me I was using adb devices and it never showed up

to recognize in fastboot mode, the cell phone does not need to be recognized on the pc first? I connect the USB cable and it's the same as nothing, besides that, debugging usb also does not work to proceed in fastboot
Nope. If it's in fastboot, it won't get recognized as an actual device, you'll just hear the plugging sound and be able to interact with it via commands

@kolple
Hey I know you said you installed drivers and all.. But maybe you should uninstall them and try again. This really sounds like a driver problem honestly.
You could try looking up for UsbDeview on google. It's a pc app which lets you see installed devices.. You could uninstall everything related to your Moto g5.. Then reinstall official Motorola drivers.

I already tested it on other computers, and the same thing happens, does not install anything, nor does the device manager appear. It is as if the cell phone was no longer receiving data through the cable ... I do not know, it could be an android bug or the faulty usb port, some solution to that?

I would say update your adb/fastboot
I never use minimal adb/fastboot but always the package that comes with the full android sdk
Also try a different USB cable
And you can try cmd as admin instead of the windows power shell not that it should make a difference

Have you tried in device manager to scan for hardware changes when the phone is connected? And of course you selected mtp right? Have you selected mtp in developer options? You should try to revoke USB debugging authorizations ( right under USB debugging) this will reset the adb permission you first allowed. You should get prompt for permission again when you type adb devices under cmd ( if phone is seen by pc)
When you check your installed programs on pc do you have other USB drivers installed at the same time as the Motorola ones? If so that might cause some issues.

Question Pixel 6 Pro isnt shown in Windows Explorer

Hey everyone,
I cant get my phone to be shown in Windows File Explorer.
Yes I already switched to Datatransfer via the notification.
I tried different cables, rebooted both devices, turned on USB-Debugging, but its just not showing up.
When attaching my OnePlus 7 Pro it works perfectly fine.
Any Ideas?

It's usually either the cable or the port, maybe try out another USB slot on your PC.

Mine wouldn't either and to get it to open I had to have developer options turned on. That was the first thing I did when I received the phone, turn developer options on and when it's off the computer won't recognize the phone so I just leave it on all the time.

I've had the exact same issue ever since first getting the 6 Pro. Tried different cables, different ports, developer options is on, tried every single different USB driver I could find etc etc.
The only way I can get my PC to see the phone is to choose "PTP" as the connection method and then it will just show me the photo folders on the phone. Highly frustrating!

Have you tried with this driver installed?
Get the Google USB Driver | Android Studio | Android Developers
The Google USB Driver is required to perform adb debugging on Windows with Google devices.
developer.android.com
Make sure your device's DEFAULT USB CONFIGURATION under Developer Options (half way down) is set to "file transfer/android auto". Mine was set to "no data transfer" by default
Type C to Type C works just fine.

This is what mine shows. You know, now that I think about it, I saw in Windows there were "optional" updates (second screenshot), two of which say "LeMobile". If yours says LeMobile, try uninstalling those drivers from Device Manager and installing the official Google ones as @Lughnasadh
suggested https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb. You can also do as @Az Biker suggested, or each and every time you connect your phone to your computer, you'll have to toggle the notification to set it to USB file transfer mode (third screenshot).

When you click on your notification, you don't see the option I have chosen below "Use USB for" "File transfer / Android Auto" (first screenshot)?. Also, as I believe has also been suggested, you can go into Developer Options and choose "Default USB configuration", and then choose "File transfer / Android Auto" from there (second and third screenshots).
If you don't see the same options as I show in these screenshots, can you post some of what you do see?
The Pixel 6 seems to be somewhat sensitive to some cables. A few things: if you have ADB Debugging on, then the driver will show as an ADB interface under Android Device. so if you are just wanting to transfer files, turn it off. it should work with developer options disabled. Also, sometimes if your usb drivers aren't updated or installed properly, then it won't show up properly. a lot of computers don't have usb-c ports so just make sure all your drivers are up to date (using the official manufacturer's method, not third party driver apps). And on a PC, try using the ports on the back of the computer. Different cables and last but not least try a different computer. this will resolve 99% of issues. last tip is to try connecting the phone when its in safe mode.
Brand new Pixel 6 and Windows 10 with latest updates. I've tried everything from various cables to uninstalling and reinstalling drivers with no joy. In PTP, the pixel shows up in device manager under portable devices and also in file explorer, but only with ADB debugging enabled. Switch to USB File Transfer and it disappears. My workaround is to create a folder in DCIM, copy with PTP to the new folder, and then using the Android Files app, move the files to where I want them. Very frustrating. Almost making me wish I had stuck with my Huawei.
Under Android devices in Device Manager, it read Google Nexus ADB Driver. I uninstalled and then deleted the driver, Android Composite Interface self-installed, and now File Transfer works. Go Figure.
Forget about adb drivers, that has nothing to do with UMS, so don't waste your time.
I'd suggest *trying* with a linux liveusb to see if it works there. If it does, it rules out a hardware problem and demonstrates that there is nothing wrong on the phone side, and confirms that the problem is, as with most problems, the fault of that windows trash.
Right click the ADB-device in device manager (somehow it says ACER @ mine), choose properties > manual driver update and choose the standard usb-mtp driver. After that you will see your pixel and its contents (when u choose file transfer).

^100%.
adb/fastboot are completely different drivers and have nothing to do the Mass Storage drivers that are built into windows since WinME. There is no driver to download. Make sure USB debugging is off on the pixel (and better yet entire developer options just to get this working). Make sure there are no "unknown devices" in Device Manager when the phone isn't plugged in because that could be a usb driver issue.
Then connect a known working cable that you've used before. Use the back usb ports of its an older computer. These drivers are built into windows (For Mac you will need to download the File Transfer drivers from Android's website).
If that still doesn't work, try another computer. You'll be going in circles until you've verified that the computer and cable are working. Process of elimination.
You can try the free nirsoft.com app called USBDeview to see if it's shows up, but 99% sure its a cable or windows issue.

With all due respect, I beg to differ. I neglected to mention previously that it only works with ADB debugging on. With debugging off, no joy. I must have something to do with ADB. I have gone around in the circles described by Alekos and what I posted above is the only thing that has worked. With ADB debugging on and with Android Composite ADB Interface installed on device manager under Android Device, it works. With ADB debugging off, it doesn't work. By the way, I have used a good cable on multiple computers without success.
