Question TCP Server Quick Setting tile - Samsung Galaxy S22

EDIT: Mea Culpa! This tile is an addition belonging to the File manager app MiXplorer. Sorry!
I recently noticed on my S22 a "TCP Server" quick settings tile; it may have been introduced with Android 13. I take it it's probably a way of setting up a TCP server on the phone itself, such that another device can have access to the phone's files (and vice versa) through the use of a web browser with the proper login credentials. I know there are certain apps available for Android that enable this functionality.
However, when I activated the TCP server, the connection from another device was always reset (refused). Am I misunderstanding how this service is used?

Help with Internet Settings

Hi,
I would like some help with the internet settings.
I am with the 'Hutchison 3;' network in Australia and the GPRS connection is set up to aututoma3 Home site.
I also have a 3Netaccess account which i want to be able to automatically switch across when accessing non '3' pages. And then back if i want to access 'My 3 Home' etc which generally uses the url http://www.three.net.au prefix.
How do i set this up automatically?
Thanks
I don't think you can automate it in Windows Mobile.
There may be an app that will do it for you somewhere....

VPN Software for Android

Hello, I apologize if this thread has been created, but I cannot find anything searching "vpn" in this forum since its only 3 chars long.
I would like to connect my G2 to my work's intranet via VPN. I can successfully do so via the built in options under Wireless & Networks option. However I have slight inconveniences with that option.
#1 DNS does not work. I cannot resolve any internal IPs once connected to the VPN which makes the VPN connection useless unless I memorize all the IPs. I manually set the DNS Search Domains option in the VPS settings, but I am still connected to some other DNS server according to IPDroid app.
#2 No password remembering. I dislike having to open up the keyboard to type the password.
Is there a market app that will satisfy my above 2 requirements while doing everything the stock option will allow?
Not out there yet...

VPN Connection Troubles

I have the following phone & setup:
Verizon Stock DINC - Android 2.2 - No Root
For the life of me I can't get my VPN Service to work on my phone. I use vpn.ipredator.se as my VPN provider. I can set everything up & connect to the VPN server. But when I try to browse regular internet pages it takes forever & doesn't work. I've tried adding a few different DNS servers, but nothing.
Do I need root permissions or a certain program to actually get VPN to work? Is there an alternative VPN service that you have successfully used on an unrooted DINC?
android vpn 2.2
Please note that these instructions are for the "HTC Desire" other Smartphone models may vary slightly.
From the Home screen, press the menu button
Select the options in the record again
Select Wireless and Networking
Select the VPN configuration
Select Add VPN
Select Add to PPTP VPN
Click on the name of VPN and describe it as "VPN" and click OK.
Click "Set the VPN server" enter the server name or IP address of the VPN server, for example, vpn.server.com
Make sure the "Enable encryption" is checked.
Then press the Back button to return to the display settings "VPN"
Find you’re VPN, you just created in the list, then press and hold, a new menu appears
The new menu will be an option "Connect to the network to" use this.
If you have not set up a VPN before you will be asked to create a passphrase of storing credentials. If you have a memory set credentials before just enter your password and then click OK.
Now a new screen will display the Connect "to <network name here> "Enter username and password for your VPN connection, then click" Connect”
You are now back in "VPN Settings" screen, you will notice that under his name will be displayed VPN "connection" after a few seconds this should change to "Connected"
I can enter all my details & even connect to my VPN. When I connect it doesn't let me browse sites. It's connected, but not working.
On another note I was researching VPN's. Seems that some work with Mobile Phones & others don't. Tonight I'm going to try HideMyAss and see if it allows me to browse the web on my phone.
Verizon Stock DINC - Android 2.2
Eken M001 Tablet - Android 2.0
Seems I fixed it by using HideMyAss as my vpn provider. Nice! Especially since the new ISP sleuthing rules have been approved.

Weird iptables issue with lollipop

Update: This is resolvable by setting the firewall to blacklist mode and inverting the selection. While I prefer whitelist mode, this will work until I can find a better solution.
Note, when inverting, make sure that "All Applications" isn't checked. It isn't obvious, because it should also be left unchecked in whitelist mode, but this will block everything in blacklist mode.
First off, this is on the Dev Edition (Sense) Lollipop release. Phone is S-off/bootloader unlocked, but I doubt that matters. I am using AFWall+ to manipulate the firewall (iptables) configuration.
The problem is USB tethering. DNS requests aren't getting through to the tethered device no matter what I do if iptables is configured. I checked the logs and they showed that process -11 (kernel) was blocked from sending UDP (DNS) to the tethered IP address. However, I specifically enabled the kernel, -12 (tethering DHCP & DNS), and root apps for good measure. Nothing.
However, it is JUST DNS. If I use an onboard terminal to nslookup the name, I can use the IP address from the tethered machine just fine. It appears that TCP isn't being blocked, just UDP. Further, local apps have no problem access the network in any way - it's just the USB tethered PC that is having trouble. I have not tried WiFi tethering yet.
I have tried my usual app, DroidWall, and now AFWall+, but neither can get it done. Something seems to have changed in Lollipop, because this used to work in KitKat.
Any ideas?

[Guideline] Change DNS for Lumia 950 vs Lumia 950 XL

Hello everybody,
After im using lumia 950, and this device can't change DNS (Static IP not enable).
But i have anotherto enable it.
Step 1: Enable "Developer mode"
- "Device Portal": Turn on Remote diagnostics
- Get IP below Wi-Fi (ex: 192.158.1.25)
Step 2: Open Microsoft EDGE
- Enter IP you get on step 1 to dress bar
- Go to "Networking"
Now you can see all information of wifi you connect
Step 3:
- In the Right of page, you can see: List button "IPv4 Configuration", click to the first button of list
- Board setting "Internet Protocol Version 4" will be Expland.
Now you can config DNS server like PC :good:
finally, cellular data under control, now it would be nice if the settings for wifi werent applied on a ssid by ssid basis, as in, if they could stick until changed again by the user just like on w10 proper, instead it just sticks to the current connection profile

Click to collapse
I wonder if it should be possible to write a batch script to do this...or once we are able to jailbreak to change it in a custom rom? I have never wanted to change the dns on wifi though.
@nvcuong1312,
This might be a useful post for me. Thanks.
Grande!
Thank you, I solved a big problem!
