Dam that is such a disappointing changelog... There's so many basic issues with MIUI and they chose to "FIX" 5 "Problems" that really doesn't matter... Such a shame..

Probably not, Google doesn't allow call recording since Android 9.
It's not Xiaomi's decision I believe, on China ROM it's still present.
You can switch to xiaomi.eu as it's on Chinese base, or root and install call recording app.

So what's your explanation, Xiaomi is only annoying it's non Chinese ROM customers?
There's even an online petition to bring it back: https://www.change.org/p/google-inc-google-bring-call-recording-back-to-android-9
Google the subject and you'll find many articles about this subject.
It's the only logic explanation why Xiaomi stopped call recording on global ROM, except for Indonesian ROM, so it's probably something legal or Xiaomi was instructed by Google.

China, India, Indonesia ROM all have Mi Apps with Call recording and call waiting
EU, MI , RU are using Google Apps

There's a magisk module compiled by a guy called "Ko-hi" that you can use to install the Xiaomi dialer/contacts and messaging. This way you can get call recording back.

Xiaomi has nothing to do with the removal of dialler and the messaging app. Since June 2019 the EU has forbidden call recording apps/diallers for privacy reasons so they are just obeying the law. It's annoying since we all got used to MIUI dialler but the only solution I know is unlocking bootloader and custom ROM/ Xiaomi.eu . I don't even care about call recording, I just hate Google dialler and messaging app.

I also had this issue. I found out that this because I was using a custom launcher. Try changing back to the default launcher.

Yes you are right using a 3 rd party launcher is the issue here, are there any chance of any update from the company side to solve this what I feel is that this is done on purpose currently...

How to install Xiaomi.eu ROM for Redmi Note 9 Pro Global [joyeuse]
We will release fastboot ROM versions until TWRP for joyeuse is released
TWRP is released now:
- Download ROM zip
- Install in TWRP
- Reboot
Steps to install our ROM for FIRST TIME from China ROM (All your data and files on internal storage will be deleted!)
- Unlock your bootloader by Mi Unlock tool https://en.miui.com/unlock/
- Download our ROM zip file xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote9ProEU_V12.0.1.0.QJZMIXM_v12-10.zip
- Unpack downloaded zip file in the PC
- Reboot your device to fastboot mode (press volume down + power)
- Connect to PC via USB cable
- Run fastboot installation script from unpacked zip according your PC operating system:
For Windows OS ./windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat
For Linux ./linux_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.sh
For MacOS ./macos_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.sh
- After reboot its done (first boot may take up to 10min)

Sorry, but you are factually incorrect!
The Redmi Note 9 Pro EU is NOT the same as the Curtana models! It is much closer the the Note 9 Pro MAX (Excaliber).

Don't worry.. flashing script has device check before flashing process.. also, users who doesn't know their device codename, should not be on XDA..

Glad it has a device check and yes I agree with you but the point is it's the equivalent of posting say for an example an exynos rom in a snapdragon thread for the same phone. There's already alot of confusion with this phone due to the many variations almost identically named and sellers incorrectly labelling the device they sell so this will likely confuse people more. Just a thought

Is the problem with file explorers and root still exists? ( Stock in fastboot )
Are apps like adaway,adfree, Titanium Backup,Lucky patcher will trigger the same problem?
Does safety net check passes in magisk?

Problem in Miui 12.5 in My Redmi Note 8 Pro - Miui Optimization Disabled!

Hello everybody.
I am having a super boring problem in my note 8 pro, where, when disabling Miui optimization, it simply prevents from sending .pdf files into chat applications such as whatsapp, and also images from time to time. I do not want to activate this option again. Does anyone know a patch, module magisk, anything so I solve this problem, please?
Root and bootloader unblocked device.

You have no way of bypassing Android 11's new storage policies without MIUI Optimization or third-party apps.
I just downgraded to Android 10 as it was the easiest solution for me.
Android 11 sucks.
