Question Samsung Pre-Order $200 Credit - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

I received my $200 Credit from the Pre-Order.
When I attempt to use it, all I get is a message “Sorry, you are not eligible for the coupon”. Does not work on Samsung.com, or the Samsung Shop app.
Has anyone who received the pre-order credit actually able to use to to buy anything?

I see - the credit is just for accessories...
Your Samsung Credit can be used towards the purchase of curated bundles, select products like Samsung TVs, SmartThings products, accessories, chargers and more in the Shop Samsung app or Samsung.com.

I used it to buy a Galaxy Watch5.

I mad this way back in October and kept it as a backup in case Handtec didn't come through but seeing as they did get it, already have my money, and are cheaper I'm canceling this one and going with them.
For anyone in the US who still wants to order one despite the SAV issue and doesn't want to deal with making an international order they're another viable option.
Don't know if 750 is viable.. what a mark up.

They're just passing the import fees along to the consumer and trying to make a $30-$40 profit like Negri did. Personally I have no problem going through a UK retailer but a lot of folks were hesitant.
I just received the same email too.
They were actually expecting stocks due next Monday. It looks like it arrived earlier.
For the price, I think it is OK. There is a $20 coupon which brings the total down to 729, plus they do not charge tax outside IL.
I just placed an order through expanys usa, only because my bank was blocking transactions though Handtec due to "fraud", which is rubbish because they are a legit company. Anyway Expansys charged me for shipping, while advertising free shipping, also none of the coupon codes worked (10OFFLC nor 20OFFLC).
I believe it is free shipping for 3-5 day.

I just placed an order with them clicking through Mr. Rebates to get 2% back and $20 off. The email acknowledgement shows -$20 for a total of $729.99.
I'll check my CC to see if they did only charge $729.99 or added to that.

I tried 20OFFLC and it did apply it. It shows it at the bottom. For warranty is expansys USA a authorized Samsung reseller?
oh man, soo tempting. I could probably have one in my hands this Friday

Anything sold outside its intended country of sale is considered grey market by Samsung and has no warranty. However, during the life of the two-year warranty Expansys-USA will send the phone to their UK affiliate for service on behalf of their customers. Anyone buying from Negri, Amazon, or eBay has no warranty. No one in the U.S. is authorized to sell the phone by Samsung and it's not a U.S. product. Should the phone need service, Samsung UK will ask for a receipt and/or credit card statement. The purchase had to be made in the UK in GBP and from an authorized reseller for the warranty to be valid. They also keep a database of which phone serial numbers were sent to specific dealers/distributors. Many i9100 repairs were rejected because they didn't meet the requirements I described. All us i9100 owners went through this when the phone first came out so what I'm sharing is fact.
I got the same email. My total was 729.99 and I was more comfortable buying from a company with a US presence.
$750 + $29 for 1 day shipping. = $777.94
is it worth it?

Thank you for the clarification. Any idea as to how is their customer service in case something goes wrong with the phone?
Buying from EXPANSYS USA does not void a warranty by any means. I sent my GS2 back for a repair with no problem at all. In fact, I called EXPANSYS and spoke with a rep there that offered to take care of everything for me. I shipped it back to EXPANSYS and they forwarded it on to France for me, got it repaired, and shipped my phone back to me when it was finished. They also gave me all the information I would have needed if I wanted to do it myself. I just went through them to alleviate any huge shipping fees and any unforeseen obstacles. It looks like they do have the Galaxy Nexus in stock now.... It's hard not to buy one!!!

Agreed. It baffles me that they didn't put any expandable memory slots on this device.

Is the $200 trade in at Best Buy only effective beginning on October 17

I just came back from Best Buy and the sale representative told me to come back on 10/17 to trade in any working smart phone to get a$200 Best Buy gift card. Is this true? Do I have to wait another 10 days to do this?

Yes it is only effective up till the day of the release. So what i would recommend doing is pre-ordering it since this is required to get the $200 gift card. Then when you pick up the pre-order you will get a $200 gift card.
I plan to get the Verizon model. So if I come in on October 18, I would not be able to get that $200 deal of trading in an old smart phone?

From Samsung rebate program:
"Smart Samsung Phone.
Brilliant Friends and Family Deal.
Get a Guaranteed Total Trade-In of $200* on Any Working Smartphone.
Preorder the Samsung Galaxy Note® 4 from any carrier or retailer in the U.S. now through 10/16 (Verizon customers through 10/22)."
Im interested in this promotion as well, but not if it is only for a $200 Best Buy gc. The promo made it sound like Samsung cuts you a check for $200.
I wanted to use Best Buy since they will give me $10 for my Thunderbolt (the minimum required to qualify). Is there a way to do this and get cash instead of the gc? Thanks!

The phone is going to cost you $299. You use the gift card toward the phone. You still have to pay the difference. You'll walk away with $99 less cash either way.
There is no "minimum" value on the smart phone you are trading in to qualify with using the Best Buy trade in promotion when you preorder the note 4. Preorders must be done by october16th. They will take ANY working smartphone that does not have a cracked screen, water damage and must be able to turn on.
The samsung promotion does require that you trade in a smart phone that is worth $10+ to a authorized retailer (amazon, verizon store, att store etc).
Hope this helps
My apologies if this has been answered already, but if we have already preordered from best buy can i still go in and trade in a phone for the $200 rebate?

Yes, you just have to wait until the phones are in stock(released) before you can to the "special" trade-in.

Can we trade in a rooted phone with a custom ROM? I really don't feel like figuring out how to restore a 4 or 5 year old phone.
I don't see any language in the promotion that it can't be modified or anything. My guess, is they care less if it is rooted or has a custom ROM.
I wouldn't worry about it.
So does this deal mean you have to sign a new contract? I'm with Verizon on grandfather plan with a note 3 so would I be able to get the note 4 without a new contract

Pre-order On Amazon?

Does anybody know if Amazon is going to put up a page to pre-order the Note 7?
I'd rather pre-order from Amazon than the carriers directly.

+1 on that. Everyone's saying you can preorder on Amazon but it's not listed there. Also, Target doesn't have an ATT option yet on their website. When I choose ATT it says sorry we don't have any available at that store.

I have Sprint and target said the same. It's a shame I would have liked the $100 target gift card. At least by buying it via Sprint.com the waved the $36 activation fee and gave free shipping.

For those with Sam's Club nearby, they are offering preorder, with either fit 2 or the 256 gb card. The are also giving a $150 Sam's Club Gift Card. I think they have ATT, Verizon, and Sprint, no tmobile. I believe that is the best preorder deal so far assuming you have a Sam's Club in your area.
Reply from Amazon
I understand your concern regarding per-ordering Galaxy Note 7 on our website. I'll be glad to assist you further.
I've checked the product detail page on Amazon.com, and it looks like "Galaxy Note 7" is not currently eligible for Release-Date Delivery.
We only offer the Release-Date Delivery option when we know we can get the item from our suppliers in time to meet our delivery promise to you. It's possible that this item will become eligible as the release date gets closer and we've confirmed our inventory.
Whenever an item becomes eligible for Release-Date Delivery, that information is posted on its product detail page. Eligibility for Release-Date Delivery is also indicated when you're placing your order or at checkout. If the option doesn't appear, either the item or the shipping address is not eligible.
You can find more information about Release-Date Delivery on our Help pages:

Pre-order includes Samsung Buds+?

There have been some discussions during the last week of Jan regarding a bundle of S20 + buds+ for free if you Pre-order.
I'm on Tmobile US and did not see any mentioning of that, nothing was mentioned also during the announcement.
Does anyone have any details on that?
Thanks.

It does and it doesn't! Pre-order on Samsung.com and you get a $200 samsung shop credit, which you can use for the buds+.
I'm on the tmobile Jump program so I was planning to upgrade through them.
Last year I did the same for my S10+. They ran similar promotion and I got my Buds..
Just hoping that tmobile will do the same though no info from there on that.
amazon rulz
hi everyone,
pre-ordered my S20 Ultra Silver Grey on Amazon and l got the confirnation that after i will receive them, i will also get the Buds+ from Samsung. super!
Pre-ordered a S20 Ultra 5G yesterday on Italian Samsung website and, yes, there is the free buds+ promotion. Yeah!!!!
For the S10 you bought the phone then submitted a receipt to Samsung. They give you a credit for the price of the buds, but you could spend it on other things if you wanted.

I think there was a form I had to fill up with Samsung... But whatever that is, I hope I will eventually get the Buds+ for free if I get my phone through Tmobile.
I get the buds plus for free as well , just as well with the 1500 spent on the 512gb version , only a pain not getting mine until march 12 ( holland) and not on the 6th like everyone else.went for the grey version as i have not yet had a grey phone before. The option for the free buds was in the ordering options on samsungs website.
pre ordered from UK Vodafone not sure how you submit proof of purchase for the buds+ offer when you buy through their call centre?
anyone have experience in this with previous deals with UK Vodafone?
So in the US, we get a $200 credit, no free buds. I was hoping for the free bauds, and the credit. Oh well.
Doesn't the freebie depend on if you buy from the carrier or from samsung? I know it has differed in the past. Hoping for the credit though so I can get the buds and a case

In the us, only the $200 credit is available.
It comes with a $200 credit, and have the option to spend or use it during the pre order. I used it to buy the Galaxy Watch 2, added $49 only.
It depends on the region. US and Korea get a credit and for example Europe gets the Buds+.
T-Mobile just reminded me you get the credit when you sign in and register with your new phone on Shop Samsung. It'll be the $200 credit.
Just preordered the Ultra. Used $200 credit for the free AKG Noise Canceling cans instead (I already have way too many true wireless earbuds, but didn't have any NC anything, so that made up my mind).
You have to go on the Samsung shop app once you get your phone if you ordered outside of Samsung.com or Samsung shop and enter your imei and upload your receipt from your carrier. Then you will get $200 in like 2-6 weeks. I actually got $235 because I registered when they first sent emails out about pre-orders.
I got an email this morning saying pre orders were ready. When I clicked the link within the email, I followed through with the order and was able to get the $235 instant credit since the email was tied to my reservation. Was able to order myself the new Galaxy Buds+, the 45 watt fast wall charger, and black silicon case. Not a bad deal at all especially with me getting $600 off for my S10+. Said delivery by March 4th, less then 2 weeks away ???

TMO giving $500 trade in for Samsung 9 series

I had actually ordered yesterday direct from Samsung which was giving $350 trade in for the same phone plus $70 for accessories. I just checked my Tmo app and saw this new Promo so I cancelled the Samsung order and put the order in with TMO which is giving the trade in values for purchase of a variety of the new Samsung phones. They charged $88 for taxes and upgrade fee, then give me a $125 credit when the old phone is returned and $375 in monthly bill credits. The bottom line is that I make $37 up from TMO and then have to pay $15 a month for 24 months.
You may or may not be able to use Insider code type 3 from TMO. $200 rebate.

UPDATE: I MAY be getting the price match after all, but its not worth the drama.
A second person on chat told me they were 110% sure they were doing price matching, but you have to order first, then get the match. I went ahead and ordered and called yesterday to get the match, but they said they couldn't see it in their system yet, try later.
Called again today and was told I had to wait until the order was shipped to get the match. Spent about 20 min on the phone with them with nonsense.
After the call I decided to just cancel and buy from Amazon. Samsung's website then offered me 10% off to keep the order, so I said ok (credit applied after shipping). Theoretically I can still call when it ships and get the full price match.
Suggestions to avoid the drama:
1) buy from Samsung for $700, get 3% back from Rakuten, plus $70 instant credit on samsung.com, then cancel the order and accept the 10% rebate, OR
2) buy from Amazon for $600.

I'd rather buy from Samsung that's just me... I did the cancel thing after order on my fold 2 and got $100 back credited when they charged me for order once it shipped...if going that way you would usually get email telling you of the credit you will get at shipping... I would still chat them for the full $100 match... Don't know why they giving you such hard time... Ughhh sorry to hear it..
When I cancelled my order with Samsung it just cancelled and I was not offered any discount to continue with the purchase. Samsung was offering $350 trade in for the S9 plus $70 for accessories, which I generally find to be quite expensive at Samsung. So the $500 trade in from TMO gave me $80 more than I would have received from Samsung. Although I also like to buy direct from Samsung, I felt a little burned by them when they dropped the price of the Note 20 Ultra by $200 just three weeks after it was delivered.
When I ordered mine, Samsung told me I had to wait until it shipped. I traded in an iPhone 11 Pro, which took the phone down to $55.00 US. After it shipped I messaged them back, and they told me they couldn't refund more than I paid, so they gave me a $110.00 Samsung Credit code within about 2 hours.

SECOND UPDATE: I ended up getting both the 10% ($70) rebate for not cancelling AND the $100 price match, so yay me, I guess. So my final out the door price from Samsung was $530 USD (plus tax). That included the $70 credit at the Samsung store, which I used to buy a case and their little discount fitbit. I also got a 2% rebate from Rakuten and 1.5% from my credit card (Capitol One).
Traded in my OnePlus 6t for $500 trade in discount at T-mobile. Will pay about $9/mth for 2yrs
Once you realize that this device gets left out of their beta program, and their monthly updates. It doesn't looks as nice as it seems. October security patch was launched for all S20 devices, except the S20 FE. Beta program is the same, all S20 family devices except S20 FE. Not so appealing now.
