Hello, two days ago I notice that occasionally my front screen touch screen stopped working. It starts to work for a while but then stopped for good. I restart the phone and start to work again for a few hours and now stopped again. I hard reset it but no luck. The screen works, but the touch function is not available. I have had it for almost 9 months and it was perfect till this moment. I have the August update from Samsung and I think this causes the problem-software problem maybe?

Try running diagnostics in settings->device care to test it
I can only do diagnostic when the phone is open. There is no problem with the touch screen there, but when I close it the touch screen does not work
Not trying to scare you, but exactly the same happened to me like 2 weeks ago. Screen was still showing everything crystal clear, but touch functionality was not given anymore.
Went to Samsung Repair Shop (Germany) and they told me would need to drop it off there for repair. They ordered front screen, in the end repair person found out that some electric-mechanical components had to be fixed. In addition to front screen they even replaced the inner screen and both batteries!
Fortunately everything within warranty, otherwise would have cost me more than 700€.
Best thing would be, go to Repair Shop near you and let them check the device. Crossed fingers that it maybe is not as bad as with my Fold 3.

Thank you for your answer. I spoke with my friend who has a repair shop and we thinks that the front screen is bad. Lucky that I have 12 months warranty left. Tomorrow I'm sending it back on warranty and to see what the retailer will tell
Hi there,
I had already faced this problem, then I sent my in Fold 3 service center.

I received my o2 XDAiis 2 weeks ago and have been plagued with what appears to be screen alighment problems. It is almost as if the program was designed for a bigger screen.
when I touch any of the items on the right hand side of the screen the correct function is selected but as I select itmes moving towards the left of the screen they move progressively out of synch.
For example: on the phone if i touch 'talk' the phone will correctly dial however if i touch 4, i notice that 6 depresses. when the pda does this it becomes impossible to operate. To receive a call , i have to touch an imaginary area half a cm to the left of the 'receive' button.
as you can imagine i have real fun trying to get my 'start' menu. when i touch it i sometimes get the connectivity or even the volume popup display.
Hard reboot does work but not always first time. besides why should i have to reboot 3-4 time a day?
at this stage i know why there is the slide out keyboard, it is a feature so that you can use your phone, without it i would have an expensive paperweight.
Any ideas on what it might be will be gratefully accepted.
i have the same problem. and i got mine around three weeks ago.
the fix is i re-align the screen like three - four times a day. if that does not work (because sometimes the misalignment is so bad, i can't access the menu) i do soft reset.
i am starting to believe that XDA IIs is the crappiest electronic device ever built. Makes me regret that i chose it over Ericsson 910i.
Ring up the people you bought it from, tell them it's faulty and get them to send you a replacement.
I did that and then read the last post. It seems that in early feb, a batch of defective screens was used resulting in about 4k defective units sold with the problem, mine was one. Just as well I did not trash my siemens s55.piece of plastic cr*p
thanks for the comments etc. I was thinking it was something I was doing
exact same thing happening with me as well plus that the touch screen stops responding for hours at least once in a day thats why i have to allign the screen several times a day.
BLoddy gadgets all this money and still no service.
Okay so there are faulty screens that got sold, 4k of them, and I suspect I have one. But has o2 announced how they plan to deal with this?
i went back to the store and got a full cash refund. i suggest that you all do the same. helps to make a point that if companies sell defective products, they will lose money in the end. now i am using SE P910i, 300$ cheaper. bye-bye o2
Hi ALL.
I had the same problem with mine (XDAIIs from HongKong - bought 1 week ago)
It really got me SICKKK .. Then I upgraded my device with the newest upgrade from the O2 UK page, due to another BIG PROBLEM ... and finally this problem DISAPPEARED!!!

Touch Screen not responding
I'm having the very same problem.
Started off as a drifting problem, but now the touch screen is like dead ...no longer responding...!!
Hopefully there is the keyboard and the various buttons, but it's far from being practical!!
By the way this is my second one, the first one has been returned immediately, it didn't even pass the initialization test!!!
This one is 2 weeks old!!!
Hardware or software???
HELP!!
My Asus Zenforne 2 suddenly started behaving unexpectedly.
Even if the screen is locked and closed, phone automatically tries to open but as it is locked, it will show wrong password.
But its keep on trying to open the screen, its like a continuous screen touch happens every time.
After I open using my password, it is accessing the phone automatically like opening application what ever is present and keep on doing something.
So basically phone behaves as some one keeps on clicking the phone continuously.
I thought it might be happening only during charging, but it proved me wrong.
I did restart many times, after every restart for few minutes, it works fine but after sometime, the same story.
I did clear the cache partition, but still same issue.
I did factory reset, it took around 3 hours.
Post that it is working as expected. Dont know what was the issue exactly. I had many apps installed.
But again after few minutes, the same issue appeared. System keeps on clicking randomly throughout the screen.
I am not able to do anything.
i have the same problem to...the screen die...change the screen all will work fine again
mine warranty passed...have to paid hopes yours is still under warranty

Your problem appears consistent with "Ghost touch". It is a well known problem for zenfone 2. You can search about that with the keyword Ghost touch in here or in the google and read about it if you want.
If your phone is under warranty, contact the service center and schedule for the repair. They usually change the digitizer.
If your phone is out of warranty, you can order the digitizer for around US$ 30-50 and change it yourself. There are a couple of instructional video on youtube showing how to replace the digitizer for asus zenfone 2.
Thank you sway8966.
I observed few things
1. When the phone is in charging and little bit heated up, this happens very frequently.
2. After long usage, when the phone is warming up, this issue happens.
3. Sometimes, even it is there lying on the desk, still happens. Wiping up the screen cleanly helps sometimes.
4. Most of the times, the clicks or touches happening on one single row.
5. When the phone is locked as pattern, all the clicks happens on the first row of the pattern lock only.
So not able to conclude, what is the issue exactly. Whether it is screen problem, or due to heating up or due to insulation issue.
I have read multiple posts in many platforms but not able to conclude the root cause of the issue.

My warranty also expired just a month back.
So no idea, how much it will cost and whether it is worth spending the money or go for a new device.

It cost around $40 in indonesia, maybe u should consider to change the screen.
Oh yeah, dont take ur phone to asus service center when ur guarantee is alrd expired, it will cost around $120 to replace the screen :crying:
I also had this issue, but it was due to a cheap glass protector I had got from Aliexpress. I suspected it could be that, since the issue appeared just the day after I put the protector on my phone, about one week ago. This morning it suddenly began happening again and it stopped just after removing the glass protector, and it hasn't happened again yet, so I guess I was right. If any of you also used a cheap protector, that could be the source of the problem. I have now ordered a Nilkin protector, which is supposed to be of superior quality (and is indeed way more expensive) and hope I can use it without any ghost touches.

I had exactly the same problem yesterday but the "ghost touch" problem had happened 3 days after I've put the protector. So I've removed it and the phone works fine again. It was this glass protector : https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B01GTE6TUA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 so avoid it
Hi guys,
I'll try to keep this short : recently I fell on/with my z1 compact in my pocket, result a broken screen and touchscreen not responding anymore.
Took it to the phone repair shop, 120€ and hours later, they gave me a new screen and all seemed OK.
Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The touchscreen still randomly freezes up when I get a call and I have to do a hard reset to get things back to 'normal'.
This issue ONLY happens with phonecalls, incoming and outgoing...sometimes I can't pick up and sometimes I can not end the call.
The rest seems to be working fine.
I tried returning it (3 times now) but the guys at the shop seem not able to repair it, as the issue stills exists to this day.
I tried installing another dialer-app, no solution. Yesterday I tried a factory reset and all seemed good for a moment, until today. Same story, different day.
Are there any other options out there for me to try or is it goodbye z1 compact?
Thanks in advance.
This hapened to me yesterday, all by itself, no falls or physical damage whatsoever. I was getting a lot of phanthom touches in the last few weeks in that exact area and now its unresponsive to the touch.
I went to a few phone service shops today and got the same response from all of them: no guarantee that the screen would work even after replacement.
For me one thing is sure, sony - never again
Anyone know if its possible to replace or even remove the factory dialer app?
Ive tried installing a couple of others (playstore) but they always seem to still use the factory dialer app for the actual calling..? (Which is useless of course)
I think this is probably the last thing I can do to try and 'fix' my issue?

Even I had the same problem as mentioned here. Why won't screen work after replacement? Won't the part be new?

I have no idea, those were the words of the repair shop owner. It's hard for me to spend 30-40 euros on a part that has no guarantee of working.
To make things worse, 2 days ago my power button also stoped working. I'm so done with sony
Hey all. I have a problem here with my HTC 10. I purchased it as soon as it came out through Verizon. It's rooted, unlocked bootloader and running ViperROM. Besides the terrible WIFI range, the phone has been flawless.
Here's the problem: as of a couple days ago, when I tap the screen near the top, theres no response...unless I zoom in. For example, Craigslist. I buy/sell stuff on there. When I tap in the search bar at top of screen, nothing happens unless i pinch zoom, then it responds just fine. It's not just Craigslist, it's other sites too. Is there a calibration app that fixes the issue? I tried an app called Touchscreen Calibration by RedPi apps. My phone passed all the tests!?
Is there a different app you'd recommend?
Would a faulty digitizer be the most likely culprit if it is indeed a hardware problem?
The other side of my delimma is the battery life is horrid now. There's a local repair shop near my house, they claim they can replace my battery for $65.00. They said it would take a couple days to special order the battery, I pay 1/2 up front and tge other half when part comes in and they install it.
They claim it takes about a 1/2 hour to install it while you wait. I made it clear that this is an HTC 10, which from what I've read, is a NIGHTMARE to work on. I was assured that they have worked on this model and have no problem doing it. I've researched the company and it has a ton of good reviews. The few negative reviews seem to be regarding longer times than quoted to get parts.
The following input would be great:
#1 Any thoughts on my screen issue?
#2 A decent Calibration app?
#3 Thoughts on a pro shop working on this phone/Price quoted.
#4 Maybe have them install a new digitizer since the phone will be open already?
Sorry for the long post!
Thanks for any input.
Just an update if anyone is interested. I had the repair place order me a new battery earlier this week. They called this morning to say the battery came in. Went up there this afternoon and waited for repair. Took 1.5 hours. The guy installed new battery but damaged the LCD. It's not destroyed, but has a couple bad spots. It still functions so it's not a huge deal. The guy owned the damage, apologized and is ordering me a new LCD at no cost. He said it happened when seperating the screen. He said HTC's are a ***** and it sometimes happens.
I'm glad I didnt attempt it, even the professional had a tough time!
Does anybody know what could be the problem? Mi Mi6 was working fine till one day it fall on the back side from my pocket(it has a leather case - scratch marks). The touch was not working so I did reset it and it was working fine for another half hour then it stopped. I opened the phone because I tought it was a problem with some cable but everything was OK. I tried by squezing the touch and suddenly it worked again till today. I have tried everything but nothing works. Any suggestion? No water dmg etc.

Sounds like the touch sensor had separated from the LCD....
Honestly a permanent fix would be to replace the whole screen panel.
A temporary fix would still almost certainly ruin the screen and that would be to disassemble the whole phone and then try and repair the panel that's broken.
I'm not a hardware expert and I've never done more than battery replacements on phones so I can't say more.
Someone might give you a better idea here but I would personally have it repaired by Xiaomi with an official display replacement because that way you get an official replacement.
Such a shame for the drop
Jerry Rig everything does a tear down on YouTube of the Mi 6 so you should check that out for a basic idea of disassembly and repairs etc.
There's lots of good guides
Thx. Ordered new lcd and now works.
