Hi, I'd like to start with ranting about my journey with Xiaomi, just skip to my question pls if you don't want to read lol, so it has all started when I bought two Xiaomi Pad 5 when I was travelling from another country, one of them as a gift.
Turns out the gift Pad had problem with camera, I tried everything and had to ship it back to where I bought it which in turn shipped it to another country to get it fixed, took a month but now problem solved.
So, I have always had some interest in sketching on the tab and bought a xiaomi pen, had it shipped to my country with the fixed other tab.
Now my problem, my tab's bluetooth isn't recognizing the pen in any way!
I've tried everything, really! Putting the pen in all positions possible. Resetting the bluetooth settings. Turning on the location. Changing the region. There is nothing, it's dead.
Is there any solution I can try? I'm just tired of these problems and having to ship things around, it's not a cheap stylus for it to have a low quality.
I know its my problem I bought something after the tab camera problem, but are they doing this on purpose?!!

I received my o2 XDAiis 2 weeks ago and have been plagued with what appears to be screen alighment problems. It is almost as if the program was designed for a bigger screen.
when I touch any of the items on the right hand side of the screen the correct function is selected but as I select itmes moving towards the left of the screen they move progressively out of synch.
For example: on the phone if i touch 'talk' the phone will correctly dial however if i touch 4, i notice that 6 depresses. when the pda does this it becomes impossible to operate. To receive a call , i have to touch an imaginary area half a cm to the left of the 'receive' button.
as you can imagine i have real fun trying to get my 'start' menu. when i touch it i sometimes get the connectivity or even the volume popup display.
Hard reboot does work but not always first time. besides why should i have to reboot 3-4 time a day?
at this stage i know why there is the slide out keyboard, it is a feature so that you can use your phone, without it i would have an expensive paperweight.
Any ideas on what it might be will be gratefully accepted.
i have the same problem. and i got mine around three weeks ago.
the fix is i re-align the screen like three - four times a day. if that does not work (because sometimes the misalignment is so bad, i can't access the menu) i do soft reset.
i am starting to believe that XDA IIs is the crappiest electronic device ever built. Makes me regret that i chose it over Ericsson 910i.
Ring up the people you bought it from, tell them it's faulty and get them to send you a replacement.
I did that and then read the last post. It seems that in early feb, a batch of defective screens was used resulting in about 4k defective units sold with the problem, mine was one. Just as well I did not trash my siemens s55.piece of plastic cr*p
thanks for the comments etc. I was thinking it was something I was doing
exact same thing happening with me as well plus that the touch screen stops responding for hours at least once in a day thats why i have to allign the screen several times a day.
BLoddy gadgets all this money and still no service.
Okay so there are faulty screens that got sold, 4k of them, and I suspect I have one. But has o2 announced how they plan to deal with this?
i went back to the store and got a full cash refund. i suggest that you all do the same. helps to make a point that if companies sell defective products, they will lose money in the end. now i am using SE P910i, 300$ cheaper. bye-bye o2

HELP!!
Hi,
I purchased a HT820 headphone from ebay (Hong Kong) and I am sure it is not a knock off as it came with real box and warranty (if it is a knock off, they went to a lot of trouble to make it convincing).
My problem is, that in November last year I went away for 3 weeks and when I got back the headphones would not charge. This is the strange part, before I went away they worked fantastically.
The symptoms are:
I can put it on charge and both the blue lights come on strongly and turn off after about 2 hours.
I disconnect the unit from the power and hold the MFB down for anywhere between 5 seconds to an minute and nothing happens.
I can't take them back as this was an ebay purchase and the headband no longer has the serial numbers Does anybody know how I can either (a) get it working again (if this is a common problem) I have seen many threads on other forums, but not one has been able to solve the problem. or (b) tell me what I need to do to diagnose the problem by dismantling the unit.
I really appreciate any help as I really love this headset and was disappointed by the failure.
TIA

I cant offer much help on this, but my knockoffs came with a warranty card and numbers on the headband that wore off after a few uses...
I have got the same problem, it charge but not turn on. I bought it from ebay also.
Hi guys,
I had my Gnex for more than a year and thought I was one of the lucky ones without USB wake problems. That is, the USB port thinks it's being plugged in or unplugged causing the screen to turn on and subsequently kill your battery. Unfortunately, I started noticing the phone turn on occasionally. Then, it progressively got worse over the course of about 6 weeks to the point where it had to be plugged in several times a day.
One of the tricks that helped in the short-term was to move nudge/coax the contacts in the port in an upward direction. So, with your phone facing up insert something very thin (ideally plastic or paper-based) between the bottom of the port housing and the nipple thing that sticks out that has all the copper contacts on it. There is almost zero room, so you'll need to search for a suitable tool. Once you put a bit of pressure in an upward direction for a few moments you'll find your phone doesn't wake up at all, or as much. Unfortunately, that only helped for a while.
I'm not sure what the cause of problem is. I hypothesize that corrosion occurred when I left my phone in the washroom while I had a steamy shower every day for a few months, but who knows.
I found no suitable software workarounds.
I didn't want to junk the phone, so I ordered a replacement part for only $5.99 + shipping. You can find the part here: Witrigs. Given the price, I suggest you order two. I don't recall the shipping, but it wasn't expensive. Delivery was around 7 days to Canada (from Hong Kong). Website is definitely legit. Maybe add some other parts to your order, if you feel so inclined.
The install wasn't too bad. I'm a dummy and thought I would skip steps that I didn't think were necessary, like removing my sim card. Don't skip steps! The iFixit instructions I followed don't seem to be around anymore. There are guides on YouTube etc that are helpful but they make it look way too easy. Expect to struggle with removal of the screen from the casing. Be careful when you're jamming around into the edges because there are many delicate sensors and buttons which can be broken. Credit cards work well. Overall it's safe, just use your common sense.
Overall, the replacement wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, the replacement part was IDENTICAL to the outgoing port. I was hoping there was a revision, but no dice. I'm glad I bought the second replacement port, just in case I have the same problem in the future.
Anyways, I did this a few months ago and am trying to remember the best I can. I hope this might help somebody.

Thanks for sharing your experience,MO and advices; I can remember several that had the issue and some fix it by just working around the usb port with a suitable tool, others tried to replace the part without sucess, and others with sucess;
Offtopic: I think this thread belongs in General, no question here. Reported.
Replaced my charging port + flex board yesterday. Ordered the replacement from Aliexpress for $3.something and free shipping! Took around 2 weeks to reach me, but the part works perfectly and you can get faster delivery by paying for express delivery.
The iFixit guide is still there:
1. http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Galaxy+Nexus+Teardown/7182/1
2. http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairi...+LTE)+Micro+USB+Charge+Port+&+Main+Mic/9641/1
Also looked at various youtube videos before I finally undertook the replacement.
Cheers to everyone who fixed their own phones!!
Well I'm disappointed!
phone arrived Yesterday. Worked perfectly whilst I added all my personal details then I decided to install asphalt 8, just to see how it performs (I don't actually intend to play it - can't stand the pay to win crap), and the phone made a nasty crackling sound and froze on the menu screen.
Powered down with power button, and on restart the screen is messed up with multi coloured lines running across it in various places. Then freezes, and reboots to repeat the process, the lines appear in different places. Sometimes makes it into the os, sometimes show the android error broken robot icon.
I'm guessing some fault with the graphic chip.
Luckily I bought direct from amazon so they are sending a replacement, but I have lost money on next day delivery, plus however much it costs to send back the phone (I'm in the UK but bought from mainland Europe) also not pleased my personal details are still on the device. At least I didn't import it from China.
Hopefully my phone was just a rare dud, and the replacement will be fine, as I can't find any similar reports online.
Anyone else had similar problems?
Yeah I would say that's a faulty unit. Sending it back is the right thing to do. Hope you get your money back
Sent from my ZE550ML
Well the replacement is great so far.
I noticed before the 1st one died that it was getting pretty hot on the back at the top, whilst simply going through the setup process.
The new one has been cool throughout setup, charging and about 3 straight hours of webbrowsing, so maybe the heat issue some are reporting is related to the hardware issue that killed my 1st one.
It does seem that quality control could be lacking, but as long as you buy from somewhere that offers returns, then i think its well worth buying.
I have just been using it as a mini tablet at home until i get a case and screen protector, so i dont know what the call quality etc is like, but battery on wifi has been pretty good.
Also, i charged it fully 3 days ago, and then left it on standby with wifi turned on and didnt use it. This moring it had over 80% battery, so standby time is much better than my s4 mini.
Hey there, this is my second post on here. I'm amazed that it's my second time having bad experiences with the Zenfone 2 when I see everyone so happy with it. Ok, here I go.
A month ago, my (one month old) phone died, you can check the issue and answers here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/zenfone-2-charging-dead-t3149072
I asked for a replacement and was denied, sent the phone for RMA instead (spent around $90 to send it and another $10 to get it back, cause I live in South America and had to pay for any costs sorrounding mailing).
I was pretty frustrated already, because I had chosen to spend $200 for a phone for the first time in my life and I ended up spending $300. I expected it to return at least in better shape than how I sent it. When it got back, it had a deep scratch on the case cover that barely missed the camera lens by a milimeter (apparently someone used an xacto knife to cut the foam wrap open and did it so well it even cut through the phone, real classy RMA service indeed).
I emailed Asus about the problem and wrote a review on Amazon posting the before/after pictures and whatnot. Asus replied they'd send me a new case cover at no cost, which I was really satisfied with. The phone worked fine for 10 days.
Yesterday when I woke up and turned off the phone's alarm clock, it went dead and then it started turning on and off repeatedly on its own. I got scared so when it turned on finally, I turned it off and left it like that the whole morning cause I had to go to work. At 12:30 in the afternoon I decided maybe it was a good time to check on it and when I grabbed it I realized it was really, REALLY hot, like 'about to burst into flames' hot. I freaked out and pried the case cover open and took out the sim and memory card, left the phone on the floor so that it would cool down. An hour later it was still hot. Two hours later it cooled down but it kept turning on and off on its own.
I only use Asus accesories and I've never dropped the phone, I've never rooted it nor customized it in any way (haven't even had time to do much with it, actually) so what's happened just eludes me. I'm really mad about this and I want to ask you what I should do.
I sent an email to Asus asking for a refund, but even IF they do agree to that I'll have to send the phone back, and by the time this is over I'll have spent the price of two Zenfone 2 in, like, 3 months.
I don't even have money left to buy another phone, I'm not sure what I should do and want to ask if anyone here has experienced similar issues or knows how to solve this.
Is ASUS Customer Service and RMA always like this? Is it because I live very far away and can't sue the reason they might not be taking my case seriously?
Sorry if it's too long or rant-ish, I'm just over my head with this phone x_x
thanks!
Hello there,
Yes I had the same turning on and off problem so I sent it for repair through RMA.
You can check my post I made on Zentalk here : http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=26940
I experienced the same issue when experimenting with smart lock. Turning on smart voice and smart location sent my phone into a series of reboots . Once I turned them of things returned to normal.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
Smart lock wasn't on, as far as I know (nor smart voice or smart location).
I sent my complaint to ASUS last week, it's been five days now and it should've been answered within 48hs. I'm fuming now. Phone still doesn't work.

Dear Blasterkat101,
In regards to the power issue, is the phone charging showing any LED indicator light when power is connected?
Have you tried a different USB cable?
Please visually inspect USB cable and connector port on the phone to see if there is any obstruction or damage.
Have you tried connecting to a PC to see if it can be recognized?
Sincerely,
Frank

I feel your pain. I purchase my ZF2 in July, it failed in September with the cover sensor constantly thinking I was opening and closing the phone. I paid $25 for the advanced RMA, then sent me a replacement phone that was well used and stained.
The stained phone worked good for about a week, then the power button failed. I paid the $25 for another advanced RMA, they sent me a brand new phone (looked new in box) and this one was also a dud. Would not power on at all, and wouldn't respond to being connected to the charger.
Now I have to RMA this 3rd phone, wait for it to be processed (can't have 2 RMA's at the same time) and try to open a new standard RMA after Thanksgiving.
In the mean time, I'm using my Nokia 1520 with Windows 10 (another converstation)
I know that ASUS is not a top tier provider, but this has been an unbelievable process.
Had one do that
I love my zenfone 2 so much that when my son needed a new phone I got him one. His did the same thing after 2 days. After fussing with it for 20 minutes I was able to get it into the factory recovery. A factory reset later and his phone was fine.
I had purchased 2 ZenFone 2, 1 for me and my wife on 5/11/2015.
Well my wife's Zen2 wouldn't turn on and it had a full charge 3 days ago.
I've tired a hard reset connected to a different usb cable and also charger, messed with it for 2 days and NADA it was DEAD......
She doesn't use the phone much maybe 1 gb of data for the month and under 100 mins and she hates to text..
But I did get the extended warranty from Newegg for $25 per phone and they will email you a gift card for the same price of what I paid for the phone.
As soon as the Tracking info hit UPS the gift card came in my email within 36 hours and I ordered her The ZenFone 2 Laser which should be here Tomorrow hopefully she will be happy with it.

My support experience with ASUS has been truly awful. Has anyone else seen this happen? It's almost like ASUS knows the phone is a dud, and they're just going through the motions.
