Question Customize app aspect ratio option removed? - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

Fold 3 have customize aspect ration for individual app like 16:9 etc but i cant find the same option in labs on fold 4
Anyone have a work around for this issue?

It's in the normal settings now. It should say that in Labs

If I may ask, what apps do you have the aspect ratio set for? And to what?
I pretty much have all app set to fullscreen. Except instagram which i think is a 4:3 native

[Q] Best resolution for wallpapers

what is the ideal resolution that we should use for the G2, so that the image will be displayed as best as possible? i have a lot of wallpapers on my desktop that i'd like to use that are 1280x____ or higher, so obviously those won't work. thanks

960x800 works best for me and is probably the standard.

There's an app called Wallpaper Set & Save free on the Market. It does a much better job than the native option. Highly recommend it. I usually use very high resolution images. 1200x____.

I'm gonna have to disagree with the previous posters here - the best resolution for any display, whether phone, computer, or whatever is always the native resolution of the display, and in your case that would be 800x480 pixels.
just take any wallpaper you like that is larger than that and crop it until it is some multiple of that, i.e. the aspect ratio is 5x3 and then resize from there to the 800x480 size.
so, for example, a wallpaper that is say 1200x720 is already the correct aspect ratio and ready to be resized by any imaging program such as irfanview, takes about 5 seconds, and if it's a jpg, then convert to png file first so you don't lose resolution during the resize.
or you could just look in google images for "800x480 wallpaper" and you might get lucky and find one that is already the correct size that you like, and then you are ready to go.

I was just stating my experience. I always use photographs that are very high resolution. I apply them with the application I mentioned previously, and they look sharp. I know nothing more about how or why it works, but it works. Images of lower resolution, for instance 480X800, the native resolution of our device, always appear somewhat blurry. Perhaps you can elaborate on this...

Actually this is correct, because the vast majority of launchers support scrolling wallpapers the wallpaper needs to be larger than the native resolution of the phone.
But if you have wallpaper scrolling disabled or are running a sense 3 rom the best of bet is to use a wallpaper that matches your screens resolution

Camera App which has face smoothing feature?

The camera on this mobile is awesome! But at the same time, it makes things so sharp that even a small pimple will be very clearly seen.
Is there a app which can imitate the Beauty mode of Samsung Phones, and at the same time keep the Pixel's amazing camera algorithm working?

I just post edit with Facetune. Keeps it realistic looking and can edit little spots as needed.

Portrait mode has face smoothing option, you have to press the round face icon at the top, this will automatically apply them filter. However, you can't adjust it.
Snapseed is an amazing photo editor from Google and it's free. It has more advanced face editing features, including face smoothing.

That option is extremely light and almost barely noticeable. I use that plus still touch-up.
@sacthegreat Oh and another plus for Facetune is it can get closer than any other editing app I've seen, like pixel level zoom. Keeps the edits precise and minimal.
I remember getting the app on sale or with Google Play Store credit. It's worth it.

S9 default aperture

Hello
I just noticed that camera aperture is set default to f/1.5.
Wonder if there's a way to change it. Believe it leads to impaired photos in 3rd party apps.
Change it in Pro mode under the shutter setting

Any way to make screen scaling smaller?

I saw the phone in a store today and wanted to buy it. But got annoyed that the smallest screen scaling option is still bigger than my p20 pro and feels like a waste of screen real estate.
Does anyone know of a way to make things on screen look smaller without rooting?
connect to adb and use wm size option. whatever size you set make sure aspect ratio is same as original device. it works better than wm density.
It’s even simpler than that. There are adjustments in display as well the option in developer options to adjust dpi.

You can change the minimum width setting to a higher number in developer options but it will mess up the SystemUI a little. Certain apps will become too large. It also resets every time you restart the phone. Huawei needs to fix this. It's one of the worst things about EMUI.
try using wm size. it works perfectly.
apart from some apps, like camera. use tasker to reset back when using camera
Thank you so much Guys! Is there any difference at all between using minimum with in developer options, and using vm size in adb? Cheers

It really doesn't work any better than using the Minimum Width setting in developer options and like you said it even screws up the camera app.
I'm using 600 DPI and I have no problems. I wouldn't recommend going higher than 640 as you might get glitches.
Does anyone have a link on how to use that wm size setting?

Can you tell me the exact setting you use for this?
I have the dpi set to 611 through developer settings and use nova to have icons etc ridiculously small

Question Looking for an overlay(?) app/module for the camera that shows me the 16:9 crop while on 4:3 full image settings

I'd love to take full pictures but also keep in mind how the 16:19 (centered?) crop would fit should I post it using 16:9. I mean I could take 2 pictures, but not all moments last long enough for you to switch between 4:3 full then 16:9 wide, and sometimes, taking 4:3 full photos becomes either too wide or too tall when cropping later to 16:9 to be used on a different platform/situation. The current 3x3 and 4x4 grid rulers in the app still needs some eyeballing to gauge the 16:9 crop
extra customizability could be setting it to have just the horizontal guides, vertical guides, or both guides centered on the viewfinder.
if anyone can point me to said app/module, that would be lovely
Maybe in the developer settings of gcam?

I didn't expect the developer settings to be this long haha. I'm seeing preview frames settings, but not sure if there were ruler/grid-related ones

Yeah I gave up looking last night when my vision got blurry scanning all of it. My eyes were tired before I started. It's quite a detailed mod.
