The Stock gallery app for s10e autoplays every video on preview, while you're browsing the gallery. Incredibly annoying. Any alternative gallery apps that are simple, good and have no ads?

The gallery app in sense is faster then the 3g gallery app in aosp froyo(never thought I would say sense is faster). It's slow in loading images(even worse with large images), doesn't like to refresh the folders when I add new images, hates to load large folders.
Is there a replacement app I can use and get rid of the 3d gallery?
I -hate- the 3D Gallery. The Eclair 2D gallery was much better.
The only alternative I've found is bread and butter gallery (B&B Gallery) but its a bit iffy too. Why isn't there a fast lightweight gallery that works well anywhere? Ugh
I have the CM 6.1 RC4 Rom flashed and I cannot stand the 3D gallery. It's horrendous and some apps that I install, have their pictures (yahoo fantasy app comes with LOTS of subway pictures). It's a headache and I just wish I had the HTC stock gallery which lets you "hide" folders in the media.
Is there another gallery app that I can use or can the HTC gallery be used without its ROM?
I know people might suggest doing the .media file/folder naming, but doesn't that effect the app that requires some of these images that im hiding from the gallery?
I know instagram crops photos, but the quality is also pretty shocking - Uploading without filters or any touchups within instagram itself.
I'm trying to play around with either taking the photo with the One X camera app first and then uploading, or ticking advanced camera options in instagram and doing it within the app - Does anyone know if this makes a difference?
Besides that any other tips or is it simply going to suck always?
Since 4.3, my gallery app is absurdly slow to open, and I'm looking for a replacement. Something similar happened with the camera app, and installing the Note2 camera port fixed the lag problems.
So the only restrictions for the gallery are that it must open as the default picture viewing app from within the camera (that's why I suppose only official Samsung galleries will work - S4/Note), and preferably have an editor.
If there's a way to make QuickPic open up the camera pictures from the camera app, I'll take it. But if not, are there any working ports I can test?
Thanks!

Hi.
I don't have root. I need to set it up after taking a photo or video, clicking on a photo or video in the camera app to open the photo or video in my own gallery. I use my own application for photos and I use potplayer for videos.
Thanks.

Which camera app are you refering to, miui stock or other? Can you not go into settings/app defaults and alter/clear them from there so that you are prompted next time you click on a photo within the camera app...
I have a stock camera. I don't know where in the settings to do this.

The stock camera app opens recently taken photos in itself (the photos are opened in the Camera app, not the stock Gallery app or something else), and it doesn't provide an option to open them in neither the stock Gallery app, nor your own gallery app of your choice.
If you'd like the Camera app to open those photos in the stock Gallery or an app of your choice, post a suggestion to Xiaomi to add this feature to the stock Camera app.
(And just to clear any confusion, this has nothing to do with app defaults, like the ones that ask you whether to open YouTube links in the browser, or the YouTube app)
