So i`ve been running back and forth with the issue of not having signal to use for calls and that stuff in my Samsung a225m.And now i ran into a problem with a message popping up everytime i start my phone that states as follow "simcard mode has changed, it changed from single sim to dual sim.To apply this setting restart your phone..." and i restart several times but the message doesnt dissapear and i cant use the cellphone.
I bought this cellphone used and rooted with magisk to a android 11 custom rom, and around the time i bought it, cellphone`s signal lasted a few days before not working.
Now the main issue is the fact that i cant use the phone, but further into it i dont have internet signal.
Note: the last thing i applied to my phone before this error message started to appear, was flashing via Odin (only method used by me) a file to fix efs corrupted taken from @regalstreak.

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Plus here which is almost brand new and has only been used for some phone/texts/emails so far.
I connected it to a PC running Samsung Kies and it told me there was a firmware update available for this phone, so i clicked ok and had it install.
During the installation, at 22%, everything freezes and locks up, it remained at 22% for 45 minutes until (after some googling) i was recommended to just turn it off / reboot it.
After rebooting, i constantly get this icon on the screen :
Copy & paste the following in a web browser (as I'm not allowed to place a link or picture apparently)... : img267.imageshack.us/img267/930/fotofg.jpg
I tried removing the battery for 10 seconds and then boot it up again - same screen.
And it doesn't matter if its connected to the PC or not, its always that screen.
And when it IS connected to the pc, samsung Kies shows the 'connecting' screen but it never actually connects.
What do I do ?
How is it possible that someone's phone gets locked/frozen for simply trying to update ?!

Hello,
It's a big problem, but maybe can you blame samsung? However, I don't know if you have CMW, but try to boot that and than install custom rom (a zip rom). After that you can install original firmware.
If that doesn't work find a rom that works with odin, boot in download mode and install that rom, after that install original firmware.
Similar thing append to me but wile using odin i got the same screen.
What i did was connect it gain to the pc, odin detected it and was able to flash the rom.
It was pretty scary i assure you.
My advise is if the phone is brand new take it to your dealer a let them sort this out as it was not your fault at all.
If it's a brand new phone I'd use Samsung's warranty or maybe even return it.
I have an old AT&T Samsung Eternity, off contract, and they sent me the unlock code as well. However, I managed to brick it before I realized it was asking for the unlock code not my PIN. So it was stuck at "Phone Freeze, Sim Unavailable, Please contact service provider".
1) I searched the web, got a ROM called A867UCHJ3 and Multiloader 5.67.
2) Put the phone in "download mode" and it showed ROM version MSM6290 on it. Initially had issues with download button on Multiloader not being available.
3) Installed "Samsung_USB_driver_for_mobile_phones.exe" which led to the PC recognizing the phone, modem etc. but does not show USB mass storage.
4) Multiloader recognized the phone and I selected the option MSM6275/MSM6280/MSM6290 on it. Then I checked Boot, Amss, Rsrc1, Rsrc2, FactoryFS and gave their locations to it as per the instructions. Screenshot is attached.
5) Had issues with "Serial port open" while downloading but was able to get around it.
6) The phone rebooted, asked me to re-calibrate the screen and all the past data was gone (background etc). It looked like fresh ROM.
7) However, when I put a new SIM and reboot, it gives the same "Phone freeze... message".
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
still no go
Its been a month, I am still looking for a solution. Of all the smart people here, someone must have some pointers?
Hello! I used to own an SGH-T989, it was rooted and I messed around with some core files it seems, via deleting "unwanted" applications. Anyway, I reset it to factory defaults, it soft bricks. I use the tutorial to unbrick, and phone starts up. It can be used to call, and it mostly works (though I no longer possess it, so there's probably more errors around), but a core feature my uncle needed was the ability to give internet to a pc via usb. We get an error when we attempt to enable this, it reads:
"Mobile data is not available, or invalid SIM".
Neither of these are true, since we've tried it on other phones. After that, I've attempted to install mods to see if the problem is fixed. Cyanogenmod installs ok, but can't even make calls now.
What should I do? Thank you for your time.
Hi
I've got a Firephone which was randomly rebooting itself and then refusing to acknowledge the sim card or wireless network.
I decided to re-flash stock ROM via ADB and downloaded update-fire-phone-35.4.6.1_user_461013820.bin from the amazon web site.
I have managed to side load the .bin file OK and rebooted the phone. However, when I am trying to complete the set up, after choosing which language I want, the phone does not recognize my sim card so I just skip that stage and move on (tried with and without sim card and the following issue is the same). I choose the correct time zone but I'm unable to register the phone at this stage as the phone doesn't see any WiFi network. I try Register Later and the next stage is either enable or dont enable location services. It doesn't matter which one I chose as the phone then freezes and then after a while, it reboots and the whole process starts again.
I have carefully removed the back cover (out of warranty) and double checked the antenna connections are being made but this hasn't helped. I've even tried different stock ROM all the way up to update-fire-phone-32.4.6.5_user_465000520.bin but again get no further on each boot up.
Any ideas guys (girls) as its driving me mad now I cant even get a crappy working phone back. TIA
Paul
Update: Fixed the issue with Setup detecting WiFi. Removed back cover and took out antenna cable and refitted it. Must have been a loose connection. Still refusing to see my sim card (which is OK in another phone BTW).
Hello guys,
I bought a new S20 Ultra, 2 days ago, it was on Android 10, when I tried to update it via OTA, it showed a toast saying "registration failed".
So not knowing this is a problem, I simply downloaded Odin and Frija, used Frija to get the same exact ROM with the same CSC (XXV: Vietnam), and flashed it, so far all good, after starting, the sim card was showing "emergency calls only", I tried literally everything: Network reset, restart, re-flash another ROM, another CSC (no matter what I did, CSC didn't change on the phone).
I noticed that I can't change the network provider (stuck on Automatic, and shows a toast saying: "Error while searching for networks").
*#06# shows the IMEI code written on the back of the phone.
About Phone also shows the same IMEI code on the back of the phone.
*#0011# shows: IMEI Status: NG
I have searched a lot in this forum and others, and found that I should have backed up my EFS folder, following the instructions in this comment, I rooted the phone, and used Root Explorer, inside the EFS folder, there's no "nv_data.bin" file, I wanted to delete the IMEI folder, but had to do a backup first, then things went south flashing TWRP, so I stopped and re-flashed a stock ROM (removing root and everything).
I went out to a local repair shop, the person said that the phone isn't reading the sim, and it should be unlocked using a box (hardware unlocking). But I think that Chimera would do the job, but I don't understand why they only have a yearly sub, while some people need to use it just for 1 day :/
If anyone went through this problem, or has any idea, please let me know.
Thank you!
UPDATE: Apparently on the back of the device, it says: LIVE DEMO UNIT NOT FOR SALE.
