I know but my question is pixels is on not off
I'm not the correct person to explain to you how leds work in a matrix on a screen, but I can tell you that it is 100% because your screen suffered damage. Who cares if they are on or off, that's physical damage.

Oh my god, I just noticed that my "new" (~ a month old) desire has a bunch of dead pixels . I counted 6 spots on the display wherer there is at least one dead pixel. One is clear to see, must be more than one pixel dead there. I can clearly tell that they are dead pixels, because if i tilt the phone they change color.
I tried PixelFix App but it did not help. (btw: having SLCD screen)
If nothing helps I will have to make use of the warranty. Will they repair/chang the display?
Anyone with the same problem / a solution? Or should i just go to my providers shop?
Should I remove the screen protector first? If they think I am stupid they might tell my its my own fault, because I am using the screen protector with glue (or whatever).
Well, dead pixels don't change color... remove the screen protector first and wipe the display with a clean, soft cloth the screen, see if they still show.
The warranty should cover this fault when a certain number of dead pixels is reached.
Otherwise, a whole new screen goes for around 130-140 $.
With monitors you need 2 dead pixells so I would say the same about screens.

First of all thanks for your quick replies.

On a black screen they clearly shine bright white or cyan (can't really tell because they are so tiny). If I change the view angle it changes to some kind of red.
Do such apps like PixelFixer help at all?
If I remember correctly, the colored stuck pixels that have other color than black are called sub-pixels and are the components of a "full-fledged" pixel, so a stuck sub-pixel could be your problem. In any case, neither should change color when tilting the screen.
I never heard of a single case of "healing" a dead pixel problem using a software, although in theory they all say could do it...
Did you remove the screen protector?
Just talk to HTC or your insurance or your carrier and see what they can do. Your still in warranty so best to take the safe route.
Hi all.
I returned my black HOX last week because of the screen ripple thing (when you run your finger down the sides of the screen) also the screen seemed to be a tad loose just like so many people have reported on here. So phones4U sent me a white one, I have received it and its worse than the black one now I don't even have to apply any pressure to get the screen ripple. What should I do? should I just put up with the fault or should I change to another phone s3 etc.
Cheers eze

Return it and tell them its a known issue (they should know)
ask for a tested device or enforce a newer batch
SH248 on awards are good
latest SH25 and HT25 seems good
loose screen is a known defect, slight screen ripple on outer edges pressure is normal unless its acting badly

This one is serial SH24, I have literally just had the screen flicker now to, so this phones is defo a faulty one. So the slight screen ripple is normal, I would say my old black one was normal because you had to apply a bit of pressure for the ripple to appear but this white one aint normal. Anyway I have just got of the phone with phones4u and I have managed to arrange to do an exchange in store.

SH23SW, no ripple.
normal is under bit if pressure
I've had two SH25's.
First one had no screen ripple at all but the screen was loose in left bottom corner. I could feel it moving, clicking etc. The backlight was also bleeding from that corner. I returned it and the second one has screen ripple everywhere with light pressure, has a dead pixel and the screen is loose on both sides.
I'm waiting for this one to be replaced. Beginning to wish I wasn't so fussy with the 1st one.
Every HOX will do it under pressure but it shouldn't do it if pressed lightly mines does it but I don't really care as I ain't going to rub sides with a dark screen??

you second hox was defected due to the extra ripple and the first hox was defected due to screen loose
you should expect a defectless hox where the screen is rock rigid and fit on all sides and only slight ripple under pressure to the outside edges
I know, going to hold out for a perfect one now.
On this one you can see a small red light in the top left behind the screen when you are on a call, is this normal? I didn't notice it on the last one.

I dont think he means that, I had that on my original one its the notification led bleeding through the side of the screen and the case, caused by the screen not being glued correctly.
HT25 here and ripples do occur in the middle of the screen with very light pressure. when i press "send" button on SMS app i get a ripple in the middle of the screen. WTF????
I am rooted at this point and not sure if I should screw around with it. What do you guys think?

@Op, there are many threads about screen issues already.
Why you don't take a little time to search instead of opening a new thread.

ok so recently i dropped my phone on some concrete floor it has a case on. when i looked at the phone and no scratches and scuffs were found but when i tuned on the screen it was glitching badly the lock screen was moving up and down a lot . i then took out the battery and put it back in. when the screen turned on the lg looked weird the color was white , you can still use touch screen etc and see the lock and home screen but instead of the normal colors the screen was red and white any one can help me?? i dont think this phone has warranty please help me im very scared ... to fix the screen i dropped the phone on the concrete phone multiple times and it fixed it but any light pushing or light drops makes the phone go back to the screen again so i have to drop it some more times to fix. please help me before i break the screen digitizer or lcd :crying: ]
Unfortunately, even if you had a warranty it wouldn't cover damage caused by a drop.
I think your only option is to take or send the phone to be repaired. It might need a new screen assembly.

k thx bro
Alright guys, I need help. I purchased my device right at the launch day. After a month, I accidentally dropped it badly, and even after it had tempered glass at the time (didn't have bumper) the screen got cracked along with tampered glass. Device was new at the time and I didn't want to spend another 100 bucks for display. And it wasn't that much badly damaged either, so I could live with it.
Fast forwarding to this date, after 2-3 months, the device was lying on the bed. A minute before it was working completely fine, but now it's display is dead! It was just lying there and there was no damage done whatsoever.
LEDs, charging, everything works just as fine, but the display shows some random greenish strips at random places when I press power key to turn it on.
Now, earlier accident was not covered under warranty, but this is definitely not my fault. If I take it to care center, how can I convince them that the screen did not die because of accident and that the accident was 2 months before.
Kind regards
try to heat down and the bottom of the screen. sometimes helps for amoled display if there isn't any visual damage to actual screen under glass.

Like I said, there are 2-3 cracks on screen as well when it was dropped earlier.
Recently while i was browsing onto my reddit ( which has white background) I noticed a strange yellow spot at top left of my display, I never dropped my phone ever neither changed my display? What could have caused it?Does it mean I have defective display ? How do I replace it?
TIA
Can you provide some pictures of the issue? More than likely the yellow spots are going to be a stain from undried glue between the digitizer and glass. Sometimes it can be fixed by using a UV lamp, but more than likely the screen will need to be replaced. Is your phone under a warranty?

How long have you had the device? See if you can exchange it wherever you bought it from, if not you'll have to go to Honor's customer support and call them for an RMA.

It's been 6 months.
Can you tell if it's on the display, or if it is part of the screen, like inside the device? Does turning the device off make the yellow spot go away? Does it only happen in Reddit? Too many big holes.
