Hi, i lost l2tp/pptp vpn type on vpn profiles after update POCO F3, i'm currently using 13.0.4.0 (SKHMIXM).
Due to work policies I can't use another type of VPN, does anyone know if in the European or Chinese version the PPTP and L2TP option appear? Or another one that works.

In Android 12 support for l2tp and pptp was removed (not just MIUI but all Android).
Hello,
Thanks for the info, didn't know they had removed support in Android 12.
Another point is that even connecting a Windows 10 computer through the Poco F3 Hotspot I still can't connect to the VPN.
On my old phone, Le Max 2, I was able to connect, I believe that Poco or Android is blocking packets originating from PPTP and L2TP Windows 10 machine.
I checked for you and I also don't have it. MIUI 13.0.7 Europe
Hi, exactly I also lost the l2tp/pptp vpn type in vpn profiles after updating my POCO M3, I'm currently using 13.0.2.0 SKSEUXM.
I also can't exactly use another type of VPN due to work policies, does anyone know if the PPTP and L2TP option appears in the European or Chinese version? Or another one that works? please help .
Please help me for add l2tp in miui13
I use Evolution X Custom ROM and I have it. ^^

having same issue trying to connect to L2TP server from my laptop via wifi hotspot on my Xiaomi 12X running Android 12 - no luck. Thanks google
As I didn't want to use a Custom Rom, I set up a vpn using OpenVPN on the Mikrotik of the company I work for and it is serving me perfectly.
yes i also freaking need pptp option
anyone has any solution?
Isn't there any 3rd party android app to have a L2TP/Ipsec VPN client on Android? I'm not migrating to a custom rom yet just because I need this VPN.
Me too... Just upgraded to Android 13 and lost PPTP and L2tp options in embedded vpn client.
Real problem...
Is it possible to turn it back ON? Using ADB to allow?
Third party PPTP client?

I recently purchased an AR Drone from Parrot, and am trying to connect it to my EVO (rooted, running MikFroyo 4.5). It seems that the EVO cannot recognize the ad-hoc network that the Drone broadcasts. Is there a ROM or kernel that I could use to allow it to detect an ad hoc wifi network?
I'd rather not apply an infrastructure patch to my brand new drone, instead just messing with the phone I mess with all the time. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Answered my own question
Well, I just answered my own question, and figured I'd share with everyone else. I just tested this at my local Brookstone store (I'm friends with the store manager) and was able to fly theirs as well as my own.
From what I've done, the process to make any ROM Ad-Hoc compatible is pretty simple, although you do need adb.
First step, go into a command window, and with your phone connected to your computer run "adb shell wpa_supplicant -v".
This will spit out some information regarding the wpa security measures in place on your particular ROM. What we are looking for is the set of numbers it shows.

See where it says 0.5.11? That's what we want. It could also show 0.6.xx. Either way, that determines which of these zip files you should flash onto your phone. After it is flashed, your phone will be able to recognize and connect to Ad-Hoc networks, they will be displayed in the WiFi setting menu as (*)NETWORK_NAME.
If you are showing a 0.5.xx number download the file "wpa_adhoc-signed.zip"
If you are showing a 0.6.xx number download the file "wpa6_adhoc-signed.zip"
Last second notes: This works on ALL phones and ALL ROMs, you do need to check the wpa_supplicant data on each phone and ROM, it is usually different per unique setup. Also, the app I used to fly the Parrot AR.Drone is free, it is called AR.Pro Lite and is on the Android Market for any phones that are already Ad-Hoc capable or enabled.
That should be it, go out and see the (more) complete world of WiFi, and enjoy your new toy if you so wish!

Ad-Hoc Network Detection
After Installation my WiFi did not working... :/
WIFI turninng on .... ERROR
Hello!
I have rooted my Archos G9 (thanks to all who made this possible). I want to try to make the adhoc wifi work. Unfortunately, It would not work, although I've tried several instructions.
My question is therefore: Does anyone know of a way to make the adhoc wifi work on the Arcos G9?
Thanks in advance Peppi
Have you rooted?
If yes, try an app that does it from the market

Hello!
Thank you for the answers. In the marker I found this:
ZT-180 Adhoc switcher; When I launch the application, asks me the "Super User" if I want to give her root-right, when I said yes, says the Superuser you are given su-right, but the application says: the tablet is not Rooted.
and this: WiFi Ad Hoc enabler;
This application aborts with an error message.
The tablet is Rooted and set rw, I can copy system files in the terminal, move, rename, what I want, and also runs the Rootexplorer.
Maybe I can just not use the programs will not. If someone can help me I would be very grateful.
Thank you Peppi
I can not try these programs that I lent the tablet to my brother. but in the past I have tried a couple of programs (rooted firmaware). at most I could see the ad-hoc wifi, but there was no way to connect. maybe it depends on the wifi chip. for the moment I can not use "connectify" on winzoz :-( ciao

I have the same problem, I know I'm rooted, so I'm not sure why it thinks I'm not
Yesterday I tried WiFi Ad Hoc enabler 1.8. it broke the wifi completely! Luckily, it makes a system's files backup before, then one can restore the original files. ciao
I have the same problem over here...

Is there any possibility to access to adhoc wifi (in my case its via joikuspot on symbian)?
I had the same issue connecting my tablet to my phone. I ended up using 'pdanet tablet' on my g9 and foxfi on my android phone to get on the internet. It uses a Bluetooth or WiFi connection and is not adhoc but it does the job. I know it's not what was asked but it is a workaround. Hope this info helps.

I got it working perfectly.
When I first enable Internet pass-through, my PC installed the HTC Remote NDIS base Device driver.
You should see this driver under Network adapters in Device Manager

Hi all,
I found that VMOS also works on GSI Roms [A10] , [A11], maybe it will be interesting for someone...
VMOS is an APP software based on Virtual Machine (VM). VMOS can be installed in the form of a normal APP to Linux or Android system through VM technology. That is to run another complete Android system through an application Moreover, VMOS is not controlled by the host system. (Android on the phone).
VMOS Features:
- Create a Fake Phone Environment: Use VMOS to create a full virtual Android environment with a working Play store and network connectivity. This virtual Android machine will run Android 7.1 and appears as a native OS with full touch control just like you would use on your primary Android system. The Android VM is complete with an app drawer, Google services, and some standard apps like a file manager and internet browser. You can sign in with your gmail account and access the full Play store and download new apps as well.
- Root Support: The virtual machine that you create in VMOS can be rooted without affecting the primary system. This is a good solution for anyone looking to run root apps but don’t have the ability to root their actual phone. This is also an essential feature for developers testing apps. Root access is often required for specific functions of different applications. Now developers can run them without risking corrupting the primary system.
- Multiple Accounts and Apps: With the ability to run two Android systems on one phone, you can use the virtual space to run duplicated apps with different accounts. The VM is a good way to keep your personal apps and accounts separate from your work. Sign in with your personal email, snapchat, twitter ect. on your main system, then put all of your work related accounts on the VM. You can run VMOS in a floating window, making it easy to switch between systems quickly, giving you faster access to duplicated apps.

Anyone know if a workaround to get vmos running on A12?

I have been trying to enable ADB debugging over WiFi on my Pixel Watch, although the option to debug over WiFi seems to be missing from the developer settings on my device. I have tried connecting to two different networks, restarting my watch, and verifying that my watch is running the latest software, yet the result is the same. I have also tried enabling "wireless debugging" on its own. When I run adb connect <ip_address> or adb connect <ip_address:port>, the message "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" always shows. I would appreciate any help that I could get with this issue, as I would like to run faces that I create with Watch Face Studio on my Pixel Watch, and I do not believe that I have any other way to do so.

I assume that you are referring to the instructions given in the section "Clarification on the new pairing procedure in Pixel Watch," but please correct me if I am wrong. Once I obtain a pairing code, IP address, and port number, how do I enter this information on another device without first enabling debugging over WiFi? I am using a laptop running the latest version of Windows 11 and a Pixel 7 running the latest version of Android 13. Alternatively, is there another way that I can use the tool to pair my watch without having debugging over WiFi enabled?
Actually, I was able to connect my watch properly by running the tool, entering the IP address and port and following the instructions from there. Thank you for sharing!
