Hi i am OnePlus 7t rooted user..
....and
when ever i play high graphics game in 90fps ....my phone is heat as hell and automatic all apps are close. please help me to deactivate or disable that auto app close system.....
is that anything i can do....
any application to help me.....
plz find me the solution
i read all articles on this site but....not finding the solution for over heating auto close app problem.......
Also I trying to delete thermal related files...in root folder. But they are not deletable
please,,,,
You can fry the chipset, battery even the display like that. Disabling thermal shutdown will likely have dire consequences eventually...
You're burning up the battery; once the battery temp hits 102F, give it a rest.
Use a damp microfiber cloth to cool, you can cradle it in the cloth while using or wrap when fast charging to keep the temperature down.

Can you please give me a solution.....how can I delete that automatic close system....
Please..... suggest anything. App , bypass code anything
Don't know. If you're rooted you can edit them I suspect, once you find them.
However this is exactly how you can destroy a rooted phone... when it now auto shuts down you're already in the danger zone.

Probably similar to this.
Thank you for your reply.....
That's not you give me a solution
I already know about the thermal-less CPU disadvantages......I have...coolling fans ...too...but that consum more battery...
That's why I need to delete or edit the thermal files.....
I can try to .....print 3D case for my OnePlus 7t so I can fit CPU fan on SD855+ chip
Can you please give me a solution

I went to my technician already twice but the blue screen keeps coming back. I need to go back every week as the technician heats the soc with some paste I suppose. After one day of usage it goes back to blue screen then the phones becomes dead. Is there any fix for this? :crying:
Thank you for the help guys.
Replace the motherboard or heat it up with a iron
Motherboard is quite expensive. Do I need to put thermal pads as this heating method seems to fix the error temporarily.

Yes definitely try putting thermal pads or plastic. Heating the motherboard is only a final temporary solution, most useful for just backing up data off the device.

I don't know.
It might work for a long period of time, it might not.
If it works you can hope for the best and if you want to prolong the life of the phone, make sure you are not stressing the phone and using it while overheated.

One thing I noticed also when I did the paper trick by putting a piece of paper on the left side of the camera the phone works for awhile too. Any reason for this why it works?

The problem is caused by bad quality solder and a phone that tends to go very hot. If you use your phone often while hot, the bad quality solder with the chip mess up after a while and causes you to lose connection.
The pressure you're putting with the paper clip or plastic helps restore the connection by pressing on the chip.
Thermal pad is best since it helps with the cooling also. Avoid metal since they conduct electricity and might interfere with the radio signals.
My M9 runs idle at about 120 degrees F, 132+ when actually browsing reddit. It's bad.
I've tried thermal configurations, from daily (relaxed) to the most laid back one. I've tried leedroid, maximus HD, resurrection remix, viper... All terrible. Battery dies after an hour of youtube and is too hot to hold most of the time. I'm thinking about taking it apart and applying thermal paste like I saw in another post. I've seen there is some kind of liquid cooling for phones but it's tech that they will put inside the phone rather than something you can buy.
Is it possible that there's a phone case that has fans or heat fins or... hell, something to help with the overheating issues? I'll try anything at this point even if it means taking it apart, drilling holes in the case, sticking some kind of improvised heat fins inside of it myself... I mean, can you think of anything? Thank you in advance for your ideas.
Seems to something majorly wrong with your M9, there is no way it should EVER be Idling at 48 degrees Celcius/120F ...
thats crazy, even under heavy load it rarely reaches that sort of temp,
Flash stock Nougat firmware and check your tempretaures, if it still idles at 48 degrees C/120 Degrees F, then there is a serious hardware issue,
Did u tried an elemental kernel?
do the factory reset and do the formatting of your external storage. hope it helps.
The back plate is a heat sink lol....now you could try to add the thermal paste which should help a little as long as you don't over do it with the paste...a fan case would be cool but where would it get power from?
I've seen low prices on this phone and I'm wondering if it's possible to prevent this issue. I know on my G3, i used a thermal pad on the SoC to help with heat dissipation. I'm wondering if doing the same would prevent bootloop. maybe the excessive heat from the SoC is causing the solder to fail?
Thanks!
Don't play games leave or it on your bed charging
If it gets hot pop battery out
I have a second hand ONEPLUS 3 that has water damage. It works completely except it won't charge. To charge the battery, I have to remove it and charge it in another ONEPLUS 3. I have replaced the battery and have tried another charging port and daughter board.
When switched on, the phone shows 50% battery regardless of how much charge it has.
I have tried various roms, and it has the latest stock Oreo update atm.
I want to know is there any mod to disable this warning that would allow me to charge it? I understand the risks, but would like to try. I saw a fix for a Samsung S3 by disabling a system app, but do not see the equivalent here. Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks

Well, you said it was water damage. Then I replied that you got your answer. Battery Temp to low is there for a reason you can't and shouldn't remove it. See if you can open up the phone perhaps there is some corrosion... Nothing else you can do.

Don't know if you actually read the post properly, but I listed the things I tried and parts I had replaced. I'm looking for a work around to be able to charge it. I wrote that I understand the risks to disable this warning.
I had soaked the board in isopropyl alcohol and scrubbed it a bit. No corrosion.
It sounds like you can't help, but thanks for your input.

If the temp sensor in either the battery or BMS is broken, then you should NOT charge it at all. There's severe risks charging a battery that does not know it's temperature.
Go buy a replacement. Anyone that helps you with this is retarded, as helping you 'fix' something that is broken and can potentially cause damage/explode while charging is dumb.

Hey, did you find a solution? I have got the same problem and could only think of the lower logic board to be damaged. I think that is what you refer to as daughter board. Would be very nice if there is a solution to that problem, even if i have to replace several things. Does anybody know for sure where the battery temperature sensor is in a OP3?
Because on my research I have found that the sensor is in the battery itself in some phones. That would make sense but if you say the battery is charging in another phone that is weird....
Had similar problem a few months ago.
The only thing that appeared on the screen when i turned it on was a warning saying "Device Temperature is too low".
Send it to Oneplus an received it working but on the rma service note they said there was nothing wrong with it.
Funny thing is that it came with OOS 3.2.1 when on that time the last version was Nougat 4.x.x.
Try to flash one of the first versions of OOS and see if it works.
Mine Oneplus 3T won't charge as well, "Device Temperature Is Too Low, Cannot Charge" and battery level is always 50%.
The problem is in malfunctioning on-battery temperature sensor, which doesn't report the data and OS handles that as the minimum possible temperature -40°C. OS won't allow charging if the temperature is less than -3°C, so it won't work.
If you use LineageOS and urgently need to use the phone, you can flash patched kernel with temperature protection disabled and charge it.
WARNING: This kernel is not suitable for every day use, you still should fix malfunctioning hardware. Do not leave unattended device on charger, always control it.
Unpack the image and flash it via recovery in image flash mode.
Hi ValdikSS,
Is there a patch like this for the One Plus 6 as well ?
I've been stuck with this issue for a week now and i replaced the battery tried different chargers and leaving it off for days an try again but nothing worked
Thanks,
Same problem in OnePlus 3t I flashed lot of custom os like pie ROM successfully used perfect ,last time havoc os 2.0 official ROM I flashed, one mistake I do,
I didn't see the battery level that time 13% I flashed ROM so battery sensor shows temperature is too low then I charged then I flashed same ROM is done, but another ROM I again flash, that shows battery 50% stuck an I encrypted again OnePlus 3t oxygen os I flashed same problem, finally I used nitrogen an havoc only charge100% but no longer time battery stand quickly battery used without any useage ,so battery sensor where we find only solve this problem
It would indeed be a lot risky to charge a battery which has a damaged temperature check mechanism. It does not warrant trying unstable kernels and allowing batteries to be charged without temperature checks. It is risky enough to burn a house down and it is advisable to just buy a new battery if the phone seems to have a decent life left in it.
Possible Solutions
There are 3 possible solutions for this issue.
1: replace battery.
2: change the ROM for one that changes the Kernel for a version without this temperature protection.
3: fix or replace the main board.
To fix the main board you need to check 2 things on it.
On the left side of the battery conector (under a double sided glue tape foam), there are some SMD.
The lowest two are related with this problem.
I fix my board resoldering the one on the right (nearest to the conector).
Be aware that the SMD is small and when are desoldered, it gets sticked on the double sided glue tape foam.
I don't know how to insert a image, Sorry.

Please stop this copying and pasting the same thing in all the threads you can find regarding battery not charging. A post in one or two may be alright, not on everyone.

Man, I'm really sorry for that.
I thought that I should give one reply for each question, so the person who requested would receive my answer.
I'm new on Forums and still getting the hang of it.
Hello folks,
My phone is A505F/DS
It got very little water / chlorhexidine? (COVID-19 fact ) inside the charging port.
After that it just shutdown by itself. I tried to charge . It got "overheated" sign and it won't even start.
So, dug abit over youtube and decided to wash off the type c port with IPA(isopropyl alcohol) , but it is literally impossible to find it now-a-days (again COVID-19 fact) . Also i am in complete lockdown on my side of the country.
So, having no other options in my hand, i brushed the port with plain water and my toothbrush !!!!lol!!!!!!!! and to my utter surprise, it started and working 95% ok. But, now i am having one issue. Randomly, when i charge or do nothing but surf internet or YouTube , it can rarely notify " device overheating.. bla ... bla..bla" .
So i installed couple of temp monitoring apps and observed, this phone has only one temperature sensor? Called "battery temp ". Whenever it reaches 50°c it stops battery charging (obviously lipo safe operating temp range's upper limit is around 50°c). And when it goes around 59°c level it stops all phone functions apart from emergency call .
Now, what i need help about, is it possible to change the threshold level of cutting of the charging of the battery to 53°c around? Coz i have seen that even if the device is like of room temperature the "battery temp" hangs around 50-52°c and suddenly goes back to normal.
Plz help. In this lockdown, this little digital entertainment device is what i am passing my most time with And trying to get a living in this tough times.
Turn off fast charging if you updated to Android 10 (it's new feature in OneUI 2.0), also try to not use phone when it's charging.
Ok. But i am still on android 9
Ok . Not using while charging is helping i guess.
I will report back if anything happens
You cant fix this peoblem just by ignoring the high temperatures, its obviously a hardware issue and you made it worse by using water to clean the charging port. Water is very corrosive to electronics and may create shorts. You phone probably need to be desassembled and properly cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. Some components may need to be replaced(i hope no). Its imo dangerous to continu using it as it is

[Update] today i was just surfing the internet, and the temperature suddenly shoot up to 62°c but the device on hand was cool enough to consider the temperature reading false . And suddenly it went back to 44. Again up to 55.... etc etc. I kept the phone @ Refrigerator for a min . And for last 8 hrs its fine... weird lol

Yeah . Right?
Again today it randomly shot upto 63°c. Like from 45°c . It was jumping around like crazy for about 15 minutes.... now again normal.
I don't know what to do
Quick update.
Almost a month no problem faced
What i did..
1. Turned off fast charging (i think this is the most important thing to do)
2. Not using the phone while charging
3. Keep the phone @floor while charging( keeps it cool i guess?)
I kept it away for 2 days wrapped i tissue paper untouched and it seemed to be back to normal.(so far its been 3 2 days since the problem stopped happening)
My phone like your phone break and say over hearting error
Just gooing to your guaranty service this error for hardware problem
Any update on your phone temperature? Is it going back to normal?
I just had this same exact problem with my a50. I asked Google before I bought it if the A50 was water resistant and found 4 sites that said yes. Turns out it isn't and I cleaned the phone after shopping in lockdown and it started malfunctioning. I just successfully fixed it last night by watching a YouTube video that shows disassembly and then removing very small units from the charging port sub board. You only need a 00 Phillips screwdriver, a piece of plastic water bottle and tweezers or xacto blade. It shows how to remove the malfunctioning thermistor
Replace the charging PCB to fix the issue
In most cases, you need to replace the charging board to fix the issue. There is no other way to get rid of that problem:
Could you share the link to the video clip? Thanks
https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View...ge+or+turn+on+-+Overheating+icon#answer649037
This is what I did to fix mine. Removed those 3 components that @Gspain2020 was talking about. I used a soldering iron and a needle, but tweezers or an exacto knife will probably be better. Or you could get a new charging daughterboard which should also fix the problem.
If you remove those components, the phone will be unable to detect the temperature, which can be dangerous if you allow it to overheat. Instead of the phone managing the temperature, you must stop using it if it gets too hot.
