Hi all,
I have a Google pixel 6 pro. It's rooted.
I'm using Telekom as provider in Germany.
With my phone before vowifi worked, so my contract allows it. I also contacted the provider and from their side everything should work.
I already changed the XML in the phone app to be able to select, that wlan call is prefered.
But wlan call doesn't work. Also if I activate airplane mode and use wlan only, I can't call. I only get the message "turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless lan"... But I'm connected to wlan (tried 3 different wlans)
With *#*#4636#*#* I can see wifi calling is provisioned.
Any idea?
I'm using the newest update.
Thanks
The same thing here in denmark.
Works if i use, the magisk volte script. I use it because celluar network are poor where i live.
If i use it without root "stock" no ims register, and get not sim error and no s ervice very fast, but pixel are not sold in denmark, so we are pretty much getting the finger from google, they dont care!!
it is a great phone, but have never had this kind of celluar problems before, consider of leaving the pixel for an S22 instead.
And yes just root it, but i dont need root, it gives some other problems.
after the new july update it's working for me

Great that it is working Germany is also one on the contries they are sold, bourgth my in Media Markt then i was working in Berlin.
But i does not work at all in Denmark, have tried the EMEA and Global release, im not sure if it is my provider there are unknown in the carrier db, it is a sub provider to Telia, it does not even find the APN settings or anytning.. I love anything else about my Pixel 6 Pro, but this kills my love for the pixel.. And cannot belive the stupidness of google for doing this kind of things for the users.. i have had samsung, sony, oneplus and so on with same subscription for years and have always worked out of box with all phones until pixel 6. and yes the do not sell pixel in denmark, but come on, it is proven technology for years and standard, there shuld be expeced to work no matter what..
But great you have it working now

Yesterday I updated the device to July release, at least I thought it. I got in a boot loop after installing it and the system reverted to the old version itself. So now I'm on the last month patch but voice over Wi-Fi is working. I don't have a clue why it is working now

Curious: Which build are you using then? Global or EMEA?
I am in the same boat as you. Bought in Germany (unlocked at Media Markt) but live in Austria with provider from Austria.

Im on Golobal build to see if it changes anything, but is the same as on EMEA build, but the version of carrier settings are the same as for many android builds (default34000000048 2021-09-30) it is pretty clear that google are showing unsupported countries the finger.
But put it for sale yesterday, give up on this device, if i use it rooted, it give problems with apps for personal identification, personal health apps and misc witch are running aggressive root detection, so it not worth it.
Got rid of the device today for, an OnePlus 10 Pro and alle tings are working now
Pixel.. Never again..

Dear xda
First off, I absolutely love the concept of this phone: strong, big battery, great hardware,... and I dont really mind touchzwiz (the way it is now).
I'm wondering if it interesting to import the s7 active to Europe or not. As far as my research goes, this is what i found out:
at&t has an unlock service via their website
íll have to pay import duty and VAT (is this also the case if I purchase a "used" phone?)
at&t's s7 active supports all bands, so no problem there
at&t has some bloatware which shouldn't be to much of a problem to remove
updates will suck big time, unless we get root and we update the rom ourselves.
If anyone has info about Samsung introducing the s7 active to Europe, please let me know.
Wondering this myself
Yes it will work. Relatives just went to Europe with 3 S7 Actives we got att to unlock as they were bought outright. Work fine on Wind and Cosmote carriers, and will be sold to friends before they return.
Package Disabler Pro works to disable samsung and att updates and bloatware without root.
Those 3 Actives will pay for mine; sometimes carrier exclusivity is a great thing.
Wondering about the import duty and VAT if I import a used phone.
Anybody know?
There's plenty of post on what to disable manually so no need to pay for an app as it does the same thing. If it's convenience you want then the app will help but there's plenty of post for all provider variants of Samsung phones on xda and reddit.
Import duty and taxes will always have to be paid. If you buy second hand make sure a proof of purchase is included otherwise they will charge the tax of a new phone. You can get a friend to take one home with him/her and they will not pay.
I've bought the S7 Active this week in Switzerland. The phone was unlocked already. Inserted the SIM card from my local provider Swisscom and it works perfect.
Only what I do miss: no BT SAP support.
Hiow did you manage that? Where/who did you buy it from?

No option to do software update with s7 active.
Hi anyone know how to get ota updates on the s7 active in the UK?
You don't. Updates need to be flashed from the sd card or with a computer via odin.
Hello
I've about the same questions for an use in France : how difficult is it, once received (supposively an ATT one unlocked), to update up to last android version oreo and is there a loss of functionnalities if not used in USA..?
Thanks in advance
Julien
I use it regulate in Italy (un-lock of course) Oreo 8.0 G891AUCS4CRG3, I'm looking for a way to improve reception, perhaps replacing the modem software with another modem software
Hello
Thanks @Matad1974 for your reply, so it's possible to use it in Europe without too much difficulties and loss of functions..? Which method did you used (OTA/KiES/Odin) ?
About reception isn't it because there are bands missing..? I've read somewhere using code #*#*4636*#*# you can choose bands, have you try ?
Thanks in advance
Julien
Hello, I bought it directly from the United States already unlocked, it works well, but the reception is a bit poor sometimes, where before with the same card took good, and when I talk to someone my voice sometimes is not very understandable .. because of this maybe changing the modem maybe it gets better.
With this code #*#*4636*#*# it does not do anything to me
I took a ride on the internet and I found this code, I try various settings code *#2263#
I can recommend it for european users as well. You lose some of the newest features I think, like Wifi calling.
Updating is pretty simple but a little inconvenient since the update does wipe all your data. There is a thread in this forum that can help you.
Also you should only buy from a thrustworthy seller, but that's just common sense.
(Changing bands can also be done with an app, for example "Network Switch")
Hi All,
I just got my Razer phone and I'm loving it so far. I have gotten the 3 branded version and have noticed that the System alone is taking up 10.1 GB of storage space and just wondered what the size of the unbranded version was? Also, I rely on Wifi Calling as my signal sucks and wondered if anyone could confirm if wifi calling works on the unbranded version or if I need to stay with the 3 branded version for this feature?
Cheers
Currently if i was you i would stick the the ThreeUK branded version if you are using the network, Razer published an unstable build of Oreo (believe its code name is MR4) but stick to the ThreeUK branded image until the 3/4G data issue has been fixed. At least wait until threeuk have published their Oreo version of the build for their phones/customers before switching over to Razers OEM build (which currently has majour connection issues over data)

This was a question i raised a while back and from the reseach i did back then the only service that three provide me with is WIFI calling and that London Underground wifi thing, which i barely use as i dont live in london and when visiting its not the end of the word if i go into a black spot for and hour or so while traveling around. Maybe worth just contacting ThreeUK as i had this feature on my previous iPhone which i think is tied into that ThreeUK appm and is still enable on a Sim Card in that iPhone which was a contract phone bought from Apple store but Sim only contract taken out in the ThreeUK store so not linked in away. This was done as it was just cheaper to buy the phone out right as ThreeUK didnt have stock of the bigger storage size and colour at the time i wanted to upgrade so is now pay as you go now with no credit kept my old number setup as a 2nd phone sat on its dock in the office at home and handy for any missed 2 step auth stuff i may have missed when i got the new number.
based on the info found here it seems to be something that the app enabled within the OS, however i know people dont like carrier apps but ive always found the Three app useful enough to have installed on my phone for bills and querries.
http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Three_inTouch
When looking at EE they have that 3 months free BT sports sales gimmick/offer but i believe this is just activated by a code they send you and you put into the BT website so not really app related.
Speaking to EE about this to see if this is something within the Carrier build of a google phone or an app thing so maybe check with ThreeUK and EE. as from my experince apple devices use one build so no carrier related stuff in their os and fearures work or dont work however on google phones this is sometimes part of the carrier build. Long winded but your best to either check with someone on EE using the build or contact Three and ask them for the list of features that their build of the OS provide over Razer. Sorry for the long post but hard to say without raising the queston directly to them but the wifi calling is the only thing that stands out.
Its a pain to look into as if you look at the wifi calling supported phones they have google pixel 2 - has a set os with no carrier build then various other iphones and google phones that support it but when looking at non pixel devices your in the crazy world of carrier builds
Hi all.
I am Completely reliant on WiFi calling at home as I have 0 reception. However, three have told me that the razer phone doesn't have WiFi calling. Would you be able to confirm whether native WiFi calling works (not the stupid three in touch app which is awful)?
Thanks
Wifi calling on FreedomPop works.
Thanks. I have ordered the phone on Three, so fingers crossed it works (despite them saying it doesn't). I've had multiple sources confirm it works, so only time will tell!
Hi, does anyone have the XT2013-2 and can you confirm if it has VoLTE and VoWiFi?
YES!
Yup, it supports both.... Although do check with your Carrier once as well..... If you are an Indian user, then currently Jio and Airtel supports it.

Thanks for the confirmation. I typed in an IMEI from a XT2013-1 model and T-Mobile (United States) stated that VoLTE was not supported. I guess I would need to get the IMEI of a XT2013-2 in order to fully confirm.

XT2013-2 is the international version, if I'm not mistaken...? Getting a device from another region will most likely not work, since support is added on the OS level. Since the OS is slightly different, the support is also different. So there's a pretty high chance that it will not work, since that particular carrier has not been added to that particular version of the OS.
With that being said, VoLTE and VoWIFI (aka WiFi Calling) are generally supported on the XT2013. And I can personally confirm they are supported on the XT2013-2.
BUT:
1. support for each carrier is software dependent. So the fact that it works for my carrier doesn't mean it will automatically work for yours, especially if we're not living in the same region (EU for example)
2. the phone won't enable VoLTE and VoWIFI if the carrier doesn't support these services to begin with (which I think is quite obvious).
3. I'm pretty new to this VoLTE and VoWIFI thing, too, but, assuming the carrier does support those services on their side, they also need to enable them on your account. This is usually done by activating it on the SIM card. Once that's done, and if the OS supports those services for that particular carrier, the options should be activated automatically (usually VoLTE is turned ON by default) or at least made available in Setting (in the case of Wifi Calling). So you can turn them on for yourself.
So, support for VoLTE and VoWIFI is a combination of carrier and manufacturer collaboration. Can't work one without the other.

Thanks for the info. Would either of you be able to enter your IMEI into the T-Mobile checker to see what it displays in terms of functionality? Just looking for results of what is supported/what isn't.

Also, how do you like the One Action? The only reason I want to get the global version is because I want the Android One program. The XT2013-4 from the United States is not the Android One version, and I know how slow Motorola is for regular updates.
Where did you get that model# from? The only place I can find the phone is on Amazon and the "manufacture reference" is pagl0001us.
Also where did you read the XT2013-4 is not part of the Android One program? Everything I've read has said all models were part of the program and fully compatible with T-Mobile, including Motorola's own website.
The variant is on the box. The XT2013-4 in the United States is the single SIM version that also supports CDMA networks. It is not Android One.

It doesn't show anything in my case. Either there's a bug with their site, or...I don't know. It just spins the loading animation for a fraction of a second and that's it. No info provided.
Also, if you can, try to Edit your posts rather than always creating new ones. It's easier to read and follow, in my opinion. Just a suggestion.
So far so good. I like my One Action. The updates are really not that fast. That would probably be my only "complaint". But other than that, I'm pretty happy with it. Of course, your milage may vary. ) Since it depends on your expectation and your specific use case.
I don't expect it to make me french fries in the morning. It's a mid-range phone and the software definitely helps. Battery life it's been pretty good for me, too. I usually get 2 days out of it with moderate use. And three days with low usage. Anyway, if you're a heavy user, you should get at least a full day out of it.

Except for the Camera quality, everything is quite decent. However, if you're more into flashing recoveries and custom ROMs then you'll be left disappointed, considering it has Exynos chipset. And for the same reason, it quite difficult to get hold of a working GCam, with even basic functionalities.
Moreover, Android One is the major factor why I went ahead with this device. However, half of Feb has passed, and we are still stuck on December Security Patch! All in all, nothing's going right for Moto One Action at this moment
EDIT: @diggyphil Sorry for the late reply.. I tried entering the IMIE on the t-mobile site, but it doesn't show anything whatsoever..just load and refresh and it repeats the process.

Nah, I was thinking of just having this one as a backup. I have a OnePlus 7 Pro that is my daily driver, which will be a very difficult breaking up period when it happens (it's an amazing phone)! I had the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite as my backup phone, and it seemed to get updates every 1.5-2 months. I think they advertise Android One as monthly updates, but in actuality it is more like every 2 months.
Any chance you could validate your IMEI on the T-Mobile website and see what information it displays about the service? https://www.t-mobile.com/resources/bring-your-own-phone
Is there a secret code to turn on or off VoWifi on Motorola One?
There might be. And even if there isn't there are apps and ways to get access to that specific setting.
BUT, short answer is: if your carrier supports it, and if it's baked into the OS, you'll see the option anyway. If it's not there for you, it means you can't turn it on. And even if you try to force it, it would still not work, since it needs support from both the carrier and the manufacturer.

The strange thing for me was that VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling do not work on XT2013-2 with Telekom.de (Germany) on reteu firmware. I have checked on my mother's phone, which is the same model and it also does not show the options.
After flashing mine to RETAIL 10.0 firmware instead of reteu, both work out of the box.

Does it have carrier aggregation in jio and airtel?
So, I recently moved to a new home out in the country, and where I live, I have no cell reception. I do have Starlink\, so I have WiFi. I have service through Good2Go Mobile, which is an AT&T MVNO, and I have confirmed that they do offer VoWiFi support for the 7T. However, the option to turn it on does not even appear in the system menu. It is not that it does not work, it is that the option to even turn it on is found nowhere in the menu system. My phone is fully updated to all the latest of all software. I have contacted OnePlus support and talked to the trained monkeys there, but the stupid responses I get from them just makes me want to try to jump to another place in the multiverse. It is basically a game of "Pass the buck" now. Good2Go says it is OnePlus's issue to fix, and OnePluse says it is Good2Go's issue to fix.
I tried posting on the OnePlus community support forums, but it appears that OePlus has done away with those since I last posted there. Par for the course for a company that has stopped caring about user feedback.
Anyway, does anyone know what I can do here? As of now, I have my friends and family contacting me via WhatsApp, but last week I missed a very important freight delivery because they could not call me to confirm delivery. American companies are so far behind in the technology district. I can call and book flights, hotels, and do other forms of business in most 3rd world countries on Whatsapp, but not in America, they do not even know what it is. Stick in the mud "Telephone call ONLY" in America. God forbid you should ask them to TEXT you. LOL!

Your 7T can be converted to global. Go here and find the thread that fits
https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/oneplus-7t-guides-news-discussion.9252/
it is time consuming, but not difficult. Search /ask in that forum if you run into a problem. Just be aware that this is a fairly old phone and the fora aren't as active as they used to be
But you still might not get vowifi to enable. It really does depend on the carrier. For example VZW WILL NOT authorize a phone to use vowifi on their network unless it was bought through them.

I am Good2Go Mobile, and they don't sell their own phones. all phones are BYO. They have authorized the phone for VoWIFI. My phone is getting more and more unstable. I got four Crashdumps today. So, at this point, either it is software or hardware. If it is software, maybe converting it to global will fix it and get me VoWIFI. If it is hardware, then converting to global will not fix the problem, and I will have to upgrade anyway.
I bought the 7T just for the camera, which has lived up to my greatest expectations. It really is a great camera. If I am going to upgrade, what would be a phone you would suggest that has a great camera that is a least two years old. Yes, I know the lastest and greatest phones have great cameras, but I am not that rich. I am content with using phones a couple gens back and saving a thousand dollars of the sticker price.

5G stopped working AS SOON AS THE UPDATE COMPLETED and restarted because unknown to me, the carrier network settings were not set for "NR" networks and did not get set properly through the update.
Mint Moile tehncal support connected me directly to Motorola Technicians who had absolutely no idea what to do, it was not in their scripts. They wanted to "repair" my Razr 5G for $966 USD when the current new retail is around $500 USD. After a full factory reset as recommended by Motorola tech support, and having no apps loaded, still no 5G., leaving me to then restore everything back on my phone from various backups, because Motorola's RSA is garbage.
Anyway, a guy on the Motorola / Lenovo forum queued me into the Phone Test menu command sequence, I enabled the NR networks and 5G started instantly and I have not had an issue since.

ABSOLUTELY!!
Since the Motorola Tech Forum decided that fixes sharing the keystroke codes to their products are not ALLOWED on their forum.
Make sure you are in a 5G signal area.
Enter *#*#4636#*#* in the phone dialer which should immediately display the "Testing" screen,. That initial sequence is one of many standard Andriod code sequences for accessing just about everything in Android.
Touch "Phone Information".
Touch the "Set Preferred Network Type"
A list of all the network types available should then display.
First note the network that is currently selected in case setting back is needed for operations.
For me it was recommended I then select "NR Only". The phone immediately went into 5G mode, then automatically selected the network with the NR features combination as shown for all my other signal compatibility.
Try it WITH caution, NO GUARANTEES you won't brick your device. If it works, great.
I am not sure why this is not in the standard troubleshooting scripts from the Agents or the Motorola Tech Support, but I'll bet it has something top do with getting a $1000 repair order than actually providing good customer service.
I think you just got super lucky. Most carriers have that lock out where you can't make any changes. It took me two months of reaching out to Cricket to get 5g working on the razr. An actually carrier settings provision update had to be created and sent out to all Razr on Cricket network to enable the feature.

No, that was all deliberate planning.
The primary reason I left, no RAN AWAY from Verizon, and any other "carrier restricted" phone: far too much restriction on what I could run on my smartphone.
The final Verizon straw was when they told me my new phone, the Verizon 2019 Razr at that time, was 5G compatible with their Verizon 5G networks, which they knew did not work at a corporate level, that was the last straw after digging into the technical specifications and discovering the Verison branded phone radio did not support the correct Verizon 5G Verizon frequency installations. I had been with Verizon since it was known as Airtouch in the late 1980's when I had an analog bag phone.
I returned that 2019 Razr phone for a full refund and quit the can-you-hear-me-now network.
No more carrier locked/ carrier frequency restricted phones for me ever again.
I started the search for only all band, fully unlocked phone models so I and my other family members would have full flexibility of my settings and carriers and had coverage where I needed it using other networks towers.
I will never buy anything other than an all band retail unlocked phone again, nor will I use a service that does not support an unlocked retail version of my preferred phone.
All I would have gotten from Verizon would have been "we are sorry your phone does not work as expected, would you like to buy another one for three times the price and we can give you a $50 trade-in as a loyal customer because that phone does not work - er- is not supported on our network !?"
As consumers we can take our business elsewhere.
So, Yes, I got my moto razr 5g XT2071-3 directly from the Motorola website, unlock. But each carriers, and each mvno have the ability to lock or enable certain settings on the phone through the carriers settings version. If you go to Settings, Network, Mobile Network you will see a carrier setting version number. Each provider will have a different number. This is to enable features like 5g, wifi calling, hotspot, hd-calling. ect.
