Hi everybody;
I've reading some threats about camera issues but seems no one has post something like this...
My camera do not crash when taking picts at high resolution but the problem is that pictures are not saved...
I mean, when I choose to save pictures to SD Card (SD Card/My Documents/ My pictures) they are not saved... the picture counter on the cam (the one that shows the pics you can save) decrese by one after taking the pict, the preview pict shows fine on screen, the name of the pict change (pict1, pict 2, etc) but when I go to the folder the picts should be, it shows nothing on it!
If I change to save on main memory then the picture is saved and I can see it, if I rename the My Documents folder on the SD in order to force camera to create a new My Documents folder the picture is saved, if rename the My picts folder the pic is also saved...but if I return to the old folder the picture does not save againg...
Does anyone could have an answer about this extrage issue??
I'm afraid I've lost the pictures I've taken...
thanks in advance
PS.- Im ussing XDA v1 but everything was working fine, this apeared after instaling cool cam, I've removed the program but the problem still exist...
That is exactly what happened to me
That is exactly what happened to me..cool cam and all
There might be a better way of doing this, but i just hard reset my phone and never installed cool cam again, its not worth it to try to isolate some wierd problem when you could just back up your stuff with a good backup program and then hard reset and restore and be back up in under 10 min.
also look at this thread, maybe if you install the latest camera app it will be fixed:

exact problem here, exact solution to solve this issue - backup, HR and restore. I hate that moment, when camera do not save pictures in High resolution. but I still doesnt know, what is the root cause of this problem. when I switch not to maximum quality, image is saved each time perfectly...

I have just flashed Bagux Rom v1.4 to my SGW (from stock ROM 2.3.6 using CWM 6.0.1.2) and am loving it overall, but I have been struggling trying to re-enable the battery alerts. I followed the instuctions in the FAQ section of the thread:
How can i get sound back?
Just add a folder named "battery_SOUND_ON" in /sdcard/Mods/ and u get back sound and vibration notifications for full/low battery
but it hasn't worked and I still have no battery warnings.
There was no 'Mods' folder in /sdcard/ so I made one, and then the 'battery_SOUND_ON' folder inside it, but it didn't work. Even deleting and then remaking the folders followed by a reboot hasn't helped.
Can anyone please help me get the low batt warning in particular back, even using a 3rd party app would do, but the ones that i've tried so far refuse to play the alert sound I select in their settings.
Many thanks,
hundred_miles_high.
(I can't post this in the Bagux Project ROM thread in the dev section as my post count is too low )

I think you may also need to put the sound file inside instead of just creating a blank folder

Thanks for your suggestion, i tried doing that with both .ogg and mp3 file types but no success
At the moment I am using a kinda make shift set up which seems to work ok but uses more RAM than I'd like.
I have got Battery Mix installed which I only use the alarm on. This lets me generate 3 separate notifications at my chosen battery levels (full charge, 15% left and 5% left) and then I use Notifier Pro Plus to monitor the notifications from Battery Mix and play my chosen alert tone and display a notification message which stays on screen until I dismiss it ( I have it set to light the screen up for 5 seconds and vibrate too)
Overall it's workable, and notifier pro plus is great as you can set a 'quiet time' where the notifications dont make any sound, so if I am charging my phone overnight the full battery sound doesn't wake me up, but i'd still like to have the 'proper' alerts back and not have to give up 6 - 10mb of ram ro achieve the same result.
I've had my E4GT since launch and finally decided to come to the dark side. I was running ICS, I made a Nandroid backup and flashed CM9 B1. So first off thanks to all the hard-working devs for getting that NASCAR crap off my phone, good riddance. But I have a few noob questions that I actually really did search for believe it or not!
1. Can I get rid of the retardedly long and pedo/homoerotic splash screen? I know you can change the splash screen but can you just get rid of it? Will that make it boot faster or save an eentsy teensy bit of battery?
2. I am epileptic and every time I lock my screen where it looks like an old CRT turning off, it's a bit of a gamble can I get rid of that too?
3. Most importantly, how do I get CyanogenMod to "see" my phone storage? I have never needed to use an SD card because the built-in storage is plenty. I tried restoring my apps and settings using MyBackup Pro. The apps were re-installed successfully but all the files related to them, notepad files, music, ringtones, etc are on the inbuilt storage but I can't select them with the OS in any way. They're definitely there, I can see them in ASTRO and when I plug in my phone, but it's like Cyanogen isn't looking the right place. The Gallery doesn't load any of my pictures, and when I open the camera it says "insert an SD card before using the camera". which brings me to...
4. Camera UI. It's awful. The camera I'm used to - is that AOSP or is it Touchwiz? Either way, can I swap it somehow? Or get the one from the GS3?
Flame/Answer away and thanks in advance dudes. let me know if you need more info.
1. search "pimp my rom" and with that you can turn off the boot animation...there's probably other ways u can do this too though
4. camera apps in the play store

#1, #3 and #4 depends on the ROM and so suggest ask on the respective ROM discussion thread in General. I'll go on a limb here and suggest you might find your answers already in chris41g's CM9 thread in the General forum.
#2 I believe is by design and will probably be fixed in the ROM. Again, double check on the respective ROM discussion thread (Not the release thread unless the dev specifies to ask there).

I didn't really use CM9 but all of the other roms I've used have been about the same. If CM9 doesn't have an option or mod to disable the boot animation or if you can't find an app that's compatible, there's something else you can try. Using a root explorer, go to /system/media/bootanimation.zip and delete that file. Create a new blank file and name it bootanimation.zip in the same directory. When your phone starts, it will try to run the splash, but there won't be anything there and it skips it.
I think that the CRT OFF animation is modded into the framework. You would need an unmodded framework to shut it off. Check CM9's forum to see if they have one or ask there.
From the way I understood it, your third problem sounds like your media scanner isn't running on boot. Download an app called Development Tools from the market and run the media scanner to see if that helps. If not, check/ask on the CM9 forums for help.
There are a lot of good camera apps on the market. Some of them provide cool effects such as Vignette, Paper Camera, and HDR cameras.
If you go to settings and apps you can uninstall stuff like the NASCAR app, on stock, just so you know.

Got this phone just recently as a replacement deal from Virgin/Bell (in Canada), LG-D852 running on stock 5.0.1 fresh rooted.
Couple days ago SU and TitaniumBackup, cleaned some vendor’s (Bell, Virgin) garbage also I like the XCam LG features and wanted to install no matter what.
So I finished the cleanup with TitaniumBackup then ran into a problem the XCam won’t save the image files to SD….
Spent some time reading on the net and came across the NextUp SDfix
Also bought the XCam Settings and grab the QuickPic for the album, ES FileExplorer to brows all the way to the root….
Finally somehow managed the rear facing camera clicks (sound) and saves the picture (and I can watch it in QuickPic), but the front facing camera clicks (sound) only and can’t find any track of pictures.
Q:
What is a XCam default install location, maybe the front camera saves somewhere else then the rear, or is it a not finished project?
Do you know for any other known issues with this XCam, I spent a decent time with my basic level of understanding to get to this stage and this app still not fully cooperating with me, I may go back to stock camera if this not moving further.
I have the vs985 with xcam installed. Under settings (gear wheel on main screen in xcam) you can choose storage location, mine is set to sd card. My front facing camera saves pictures to :
/storage/external_SD/DCIM/Camera/
Hope this helps

THX, this what you saying is a default.
I believe something to do with android.
Something to do with interaction between OS and XCam

The XCam was working fine then I installed 2-3-4 other apps (preparing my entertainment for a several weeks road trip), only then the XCam started behaving different.
I have now uninstalled this program (w/TitaniumBackup) and installed a fresh copy and the same but new copy of XCam is all working fine. But, this is important, it is now a latest installed app.
I don't want to troubleshoot in the last moment but I believe some of the apps altering the system variables in some way that the XCam looses an important link and certain features start miss-behaving.
I am not a programmer by any means only a tinkering leads me to this standpoint. I may be wrong but the OS is too much modular so some apps connecting one way some the other and some the third....this android OS shall be a single engine with predefined open ports where-only the apps can connect to....
Is anyone else having problems with faces turning grey with the GCam mod on the Pixel 6 Pro? Sometimes the whole face is desaturated; sometimes just parts of it. Whole faces turning grey is mostly an issue in the background. When the face is central in the foreground, the problem is more often that I get grey bits at the edge; it's as if the software has determined that parts of the face are something other than a face?
And sometimes colors bleed across edges: adjacent colors find their way into the object next door. If a face, for instance, is on a bright green background, the green will appear as a splotch bleeding into the edge of the face itself. This happens with other objects as well, but it seems to be more of an issue when dealing with human skin.
I haven't checked to see whether this is a problem with the stock app (which I never use), but perhaps it is.
I've been using the MWP mod: 8.3.253_V1d (although I've just upgraded to V2.0 — perhaps this will help?)
Not on my side !! On stock or MWP version.
Do you've an example ?
Okay, here's a close crop of a random street shot. Pretty scary example. Look at the grey patch on the woman's nose in the foreground. And the zombie-grey faces of the woman and man on the left and right in the background.
You can see a bit of the color bleeding going on behind the woman's orangish coat. See how you get some of that light orange on the sculpture behind her? If you look at her shoulder, it's especially obvious. This is ISO 49!
It only seems to happen outdoors, and mostly with human skin. I'm sure the skin-color algorithm is doing something wacky.
Btw, how do I uninstall this Mod completely, so that I can download it again with everything reset to default? When I uninstall it, my old Lib settings pop up when I reinstall. (Something tells me I asked this question a decade ago about the 3XL, but I can't remember the routine.)
Bumping this. Can anyone help me with a complete uninstall of GCam?

Hi. Just tried that; didn't work. Seems pretty difficult to remove these settings. I just did a normal "uninstall" with SD Maid — is there maybe a more rigorous command?
Oh, and a couple of questions for those who've installed this: I've changed a lot of parameters, and I'd like to set it back to default and try again (and, as I say, I can't seem to remove the settings). So:
1) Under Mod Settings, what is the default setting for Custom Libs: do you have MWP_xHDR, or Default Google?
2) When you engage the Lib Patcher, before altering anything, are parameters set to Default, or to Default as Lib? The latter would seem obvious, but I just want to check.

Do you have everything selected in the settings?
Try installing the "bad gcam" again, then going into the app settings and clearing the app data and cache then uninstalling it again. On the O+6T I would have to clear user data in the app or the settings would stay for the next version of gcam and break everything.
Try it! Good luck famski!
@Gytole I deleted app data and cache — no luck. All my settings are checked (although my device isn't rooted, so some of them are greyed out). This apk is tenacious. Any other ideas?
