How to enable battery alerts in Bagux Project ROM v1.4 ? - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

I have just flashed Bagux Rom v1.4 to my SGW (from stock ROM 2.3.6 using CWM 6.0.1.2) and am loving it overall, but I have been struggling trying to re-enable the battery alerts. I followed the instuctions in the FAQ section of the thread:
How can i get sound back?
Just add a folder named "battery_SOUND_ON" in /sdcard/Mods/ and u get back sound and vibration notifications for full/low battery
but it hasn't worked and I still have no battery warnings.
There was no 'Mods' folder in /sdcard/ so I made one, and then the 'battery_SOUND_ON' folder inside it, but it didn't work. Even deleting and then remaking the folders followed by a reboot hasn't helped.
Can anyone please help me get the low batt warning in particular back, even using a 3rd party app would do, but the ones that i've tried so far refuse to play the alert sound I select in their settings.
Many thanks,
hundred_miles_high.
(I can't post this in the Bagux Project ROM thread in the dev section as my post count is too low )

I think you may also need to put the sound file inside instead of just creating a blank folder

Thanks for your suggestion, i tried doing that with both .ogg and mp3 file types but no success
At the moment I am using a kinda make shift set up which seems to work ok but uses more RAM than I'd like.
I have got Battery Mix installed which I only use the alarm on. This lets me generate 3 separate notifications at my chosen battery levels (full charge, 15% left and 5% left) and then I use Notifier Pro Plus to monitor the notifications from Battery Mix and play my chosen alert tone and display a notification message which stays on screen until I dismiss it ( I have it set to light the screen up for 5 seconds and vibrate too)
Overall it's workable, and notifier pro plus is great as you can set a 'quiet time' where the notifications dont make any sound, so if I am charging my phone overnight the full battery sound doesn't wake me up, but i'd still like to have the 'proper' alerts back and not have to give up 6 - 10mb of ram ro achieve the same result.

[APP] AudioBoost 2.4 - support and feedback

CREDITS:
My work is ONLY the application, it was intended for my personal use, but I figured that it could be useful to someone else, until supercurio doesn't come out with something better (and I hope he will).
So the HARD PART of the work, like finding out how to tweak the volume limit using alsa, etc. was done by supercurio and we should all thank him a lot for all his work!
Thanks also to RyanZA for creating the z4root application, very very useful!
PREREQUISITES:
1. Your phone must be ROOTED!
ATTENTION FOR FROYO!!:
With froyo official updates, it is NO LONGER possible to flash custom update.zip!! If you want to leave your phone unrooted, however, there is a simple way to achive this:
1. Download from the market the free application "z4root" from our beloved RyanZA! (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953)
2. Use the z4root application to get root privileges
3. Now open audioboost and choose "NORMAL INSTALL"
4. Now or whenever you feel like it, if you want, you can just open z4root again and *unroot* your device. After that, you can even erase z4root and continue using audioboost without problems until next firmware upgrade...the app won't leave any trace and it won't be noticeable that your phone has been rooted.
If you liked this approach, you can also donate to RyanZA for the wonderful app he's created!
INSTALLATION:
If you had previously a beta version installed, please uninstall it before trying the release 1.0.
If you don't have already installed alsa, the app will check your installation when you launch it, and eventually it will ask you to install alsa. Please do so.
FEATURES:
- Headphones, speaker and microphone tweaking!
- I optimized the code a lot, so now it is very low on resource usage, even with a 1-second refresh rate!
- You can leave it in background all day without noticing any lag or anything!
- Now with some sort of icon.
- Signed.
UPDATED 1.1:
- When clicking exit button it will clean up better.
- Cleaned up a bit the Settings activity, and added preview of next feature (statusbar notifications).
- Changed Info activity a bit.
UPDATED 1.2:
- Fixed a bug that prevented the app to work properly!
UPDATED 1.3:
- GLOBAL REFRESH! Now the refresh time and enabling/disabling is under Settings and works for ALL controls (headphones, speaker and mic).
- Fixed (hopefully) problems with ALSA INSTALLATION, plus now a progress dialog is displayed (just for you to know that is working and for me when posting problems - I hope not - you can say "stuck at x%"...)
- Fixed QUIT bug. Now when you click the exit button it should really exit and not show up in background even with task killer. PLEASE DO NOT KILL THE APP, use the exit button!!!
- Now menu has icons!
- Plus a lot of things that you may not notice, but are very useful for overall speed and low system resource impact! The code has been changed A LOT, let me tell ya!
...Well hope everything works just fine! Please post feedback on mic functioning with these new features!
UPDATED 1.4.1:
- Just fixed a little thing which prevented the correct alsa installation, nothing definitive as I'm looking to manage every single possible error scenario...
UPDATED 2.0:
- Works even on unrooted phones
- Alsa installation takes now a split second! You MUST do that even if you used version 1.x (permissions changed...)
- Audio-boosting feature is a service that can be backgrounded
- Statusbar notification
- Start on phone boot
- Refresh rate in milliseconds...you can have values lower than 1 second, default is 500ms...obviously greater values = worst experience = better performance....your call!
- New app logo...hope you like it!
- A lot of other improvements that I'm not remembering right now!
UPDATED 2.1:
- Fixed lagging issues (OMG java Timer class implementation on android sucks badly!!!)
- Dropped "always active" option in settings (not very user-friendly/intuitive)
- Added little dialog when hitting menu/Quit that asks if you want to background the app or close it for good (more user-friendly for my taste)
Regarding *lagging* issues: of course, if you keep like 2-3 milliseconds refresh it WILL lag indeed! That depends on use-cases:
- I, for instance, use my app when listening to music while driving. In that circumstance, I have no problem occupying resources because I'm not actually using my phone apart from playing music. If an email comes in though, I'd *hate* to have to wait 10 seconds to boost volume again, so I keep 100-200ms. When I exit the car, I click "disable" and close audioboost.
- Someone who is listening to music while using the phone intensively should use a higher refresh.
I think that with 2000ms refresh, version 2.1 shouldn't lag even all-day long. Even with lower values it should be fine...you should find your preferred setting by yourselves!
UPDATE 2.2 - 2.3 - 2.4:
- Fixed some bugs.
- Improved froyo compatibility.
- Mounts /system as rw during install.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RATE/COMMENT THE APP IN THE MARKET, THANK YOU EVERYBODY
- OLD:
Ok...let's explain a bit. Yesterday evening I wanted to know if it existed a tweak to boost the audio volume coming from the headphones. I think that there is some sort of European law or something like that which limits the volume that headphones can produce. This is probably a good thing to avoid hearing problems with *headphones*, but in my situation it sucks badly! Yes, because I use my phone as a music source in my car, and my car hifi is not powerful enough to let me hear my music at the level I like...
However...I was addressed at this thread, from post #300 on...
Well, I read the thread (and I STRONGLY ADVISE you do the same before downloading anything from my post), but I didn't like very much the limitations of that tweak. It works alright, but it seems to me that an sh script is not the more comfortable way to go on a mobile phone. If you think differently from me, feel free to keep using the script method, without posting useless comments.
So I created a tiny little (horrible I must say) application which kinda does basically the same thing as the script, but in a (from my point of view) much cooler way! It is very ugly, but it's my first android application and I bought the phone just 2 weeks ago...
How does this work? Very simple: there is a textbox in which you can enter the desired amp level, an enable button and a disable one. You should enter the value you prefer (default is 62), then click enable button. You should now leave the app RUNNING in background. When you are finished using the tweak you can tap the disable button to return to the default (of the firmware) settings.
Basically what the application does is it creates a 2-seconds timer which calls everytime the alsamixer (a little better than using an infinite loop as in the script...) with the desired settings. It doesn't seem to impact the battery life too much from my little testing, but please post any feedback on this point.
Thank you! This is useful
what is the default and what are the ranges it supports thanks
The default is 56 (and that's the value it puts when you click the disable button). The range varies from 0 to 63, but from 0 to 35 it's the same low level. It's all written on the supercurio's post I mentioned!
thanks works ok.. you dont have to keep it running the setting does not go back to default unless you unplug and replug in the headphone.. also this is only for headphone boost not for speaker..
finally 2 secs seems like overkill every 10-30 sec would be ok to0.. maybe you could make that user seteable.. also an exit button would be nice since i start it set the level higher and kill it..as long as i dont unplug headphones it stays so i would like to exit without going to task killer..
thanks agian.

I'll look into those suggestions after dinner, thanks! However, I don't see why you should kill it...I mean, it's like 20kb of app...I don't think it occupies that much ram...
The point of the app is that when you unplug the headphone and replug it after 2sec it bumps volume again...if you kill it becomes useless...

it is not the memory footprint i dont like anything running starting up every so often and checking status.. not sure what it does to battery or cpu usage.. especially in not necessary... maybe a widget added to the app with a picture that changes showing boost when on and when you click toggles on or off.. and you only need to open the actuall app for settings..
if you can bundle this with the other app so you dont have to manually install and untar on you card. you could probably charge a couple of bucks for it in the store... but more most people the manual install and untar of the other app is slightly complicated.

Well that of the widget is a GREAT idea! I'll look into it, but I can't promise anything, because as I said it's the first time I develop anything for a mobile phone, I just read two or three tutorials on android developing this morning and the actual coding part was like a couple of hours of work. Add to that the fact that it's been 4 years since last time I wrote software (let alone java, which was the first language I learned, but I never used it for real developing) and now I'm doing with very different things in my life! Of course I will try to upgrade and make a better app, as this one is horrible...if people are interested I'll do it, but it'll take some time!

I'm sure your work will make a lot of people happy.
Thanks for your time Carlo.
Grande Carlo!
Great idea Carlo!
I'd suggest to modify a few things in your app:
1)Try to insert a third button for closing the service without resetting the volume to the normal one, also because it is enough to unplug the headphones to change it.
2)Can you modify save the latest used volume? This way the next time you open the app you do not have to change it again.
Buona fortuna! Grande idea!
OK...if you look in the first post I updated the app a bit, implementing some of the requests...
It's very important that you uninstall the old one before installing the new one.
It's still early alpha version however, I have in mind a couple of interesting things if I'm able to implement them...
Stay tuned!
2. The refresh rate is in *seconds* and the default is 2. Feel free to experiment with other values, but remember that it's not only the unplugging of headphones cable which causes the volume value to reset. This happens also when you receive a notification (such as an incoming call, message or email), or when there is a 2 seconds or longer pause (such as you just pause the player for a moment). So...imho it's not useful to keep the refresh rate higher then 10 seconds or so...but as always, try various combinations and let me know! The most important thing should be to watch the impact of this setting on battery life...
Also...if you put 0 here as a value, the timer won't start at all. Basically this means that it's just like invoking the shell command...so any notification and the volume won't come back up!

strange i didnt experience this in my tests pausing both audible player and ambling book player for more than 2 secs.. the volume didnt reset...
will have to experiement more
ok more info you are correct pausing does setting values back to default..
also one bug.. quite does not seem to totaly quit the app.. it does exist but if you run adavance task killer a process is still showing up as running in the task list.. but anyway i have set it to 10 secs . and it seems to work fine.. no lag while using other apps.

as long as you have root and busybox you can download the terminal emulator from the market and run the tar command in the first post.
i did it this way on the bus this morning

Yes some busybox versions don't have tar with gzip support. If u installed the busy box fix from titanium backup u can just run the command thru tar instead.

Download Busybox by Stericson from the market and that app will let you install the latest Busybox - then that command will work.

[Q] noob questions

I've had my E4GT since launch and finally decided to come to the dark side. I was running ICS, I made a Nandroid backup and flashed CM9 B1. So first off thanks to all the hard-working devs for getting that NASCAR crap off my phone, good riddance. But I have a few noob questions that I actually really did search for believe it or not!
1. Can I get rid of the retardedly long and pedo/homoerotic splash screen? I know you can change the splash screen but can you just get rid of it? Will that make it boot faster or save an eentsy teensy bit of battery?
2. I am epileptic and every time I lock my screen where it looks like an old CRT turning off, it's a bit of a gamble can I get rid of that too?
3. Most importantly, how do I get CyanogenMod to "see" my phone storage? I have never needed to use an SD card because the built-in storage is plenty. I tried restoring my apps and settings using MyBackup Pro. The apps were re-installed successfully but all the files related to them, notepad files, music, ringtones, etc are on the inbuilt storage but I can't select them with the OS in any way. They're definitely there, I can see them in ASTRO and when I plug in my phone, but it's like Cyanogen isn't looking the right place. The Gallery doesn't load any of my pictures, and when I open the camera it says "insert an SD card before using the camera". which brings me to...
4. Camera UI. It's awful. The camera I'm used to - is that AOSP or is it Touchwiz? Either way, can I swap it somehow? Or get the one from the GS3?
Flame/Answer away and thanks in advance dudes. let me know if you need more info.
1. search "pimp my rom" and with that you can turn off the boot animation...there's probably other ways u can do this too though
4. camera apps in the play store

#1, #3 and #4 depends on the ROM and so suggest ask on the respective ROM discussion thread in General. I'll go on a limb here and suggest you might find your answers already in chris41g's CM9 thread in the General forum.
#2 I believe is by design and will probably be fixed in the ROM. Again, double check on the respective ROM discussion thread (Not the release thread unless the dev specifies to ask there).

I didn't really use CM9 but all of the other roms I've used have been about the same. If CM9 doesn't have an option or mod to disable the boot animation or if you can't find an app that's compatible, there's something else you can try. Using a root explorer, go to /system/media/bootanimation.zip and delete that file. Create a new blank file and name it bootanimation.zip in the same directory. When your phone starts, it will try to run the splash, but there won't be anything there and it skips it.
I think that the CRT OFF animation is modded into the framework. You would need an unmodded framework to shut it off. Check CM9's forum to see if they have one or ask there.
From the way I understood it, your third problem sounds like your media scanner isn't running on boot. Download an app called Development Tools from the market and run the media scanner to see if that helps. If not, check/ask on the CM9 forums for help.
There are a lot of good camera apps on the market. Some of them provide cool effects such as Vignette, Paper Camera, and HDR cameras.
If you go to settings and apps you can uninstall stuff like the NASCAR app, on stock, just so you know.

GWIZ uses the T-989 4.1.2 T-Mobile Jelly Bean final update as a base. The project's purpose is to offer extra functions and better looks over stock while maintaining maximum stability, while increasing speed and battery life.
Also Aesthetics have been considered and vastly improved over stock.
Summary: Going for it all here, aesthetics, speed, battery, extra functions, updated kernel and ROM provide an improved look and 'feel'. For this project I have used the GoogleGallery and camera as well as the GoogleLauncher and adding back the `clear` button on Notification panel return to the extra toggles features, flashlight, reboot menu etc etc. Features:
Google launcher
NO ADDS
VOL WAKE
FOURWAY REBOOT
23 TOGGLES
CUSTOMIZABLE BOOTANIMATION
NEXUS KITKAT UI SOUNDS
DEBLOATED
CSC TWEAKS
Theme work returned the clear button, =] that was fun and a ton of digging for days. now the blue bars are gone and full function returned...
Much more that I didn't forget.
Xtra Functions
BLN a.k.a. back lighting notification.
ScreenShot on statusbar
PowerButton on status bar. uses = tap to lock the device or hold it down to pull up the reboot menu
overclockable kernel to 2.3ghz... is that an extra function? close enough

I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD_Cards, thermonuclear war, and no one but yourself is responsible if you get fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me or anyone else for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Collectively, and at the same time. By downloading you agree that you alone are responsible for your actions and device(s).

Installation Instructions:
WIPES ==> wipe all except external sdcard and internal sdcard
1. Install TWRP recovery. WIPE the following partitions in TWRP recovery ====> /system /data/ /cache/ dalvik cache/ /preload/ everything but internal and external sdcards... unless you want to wipe those as well then go right ahead.. also wiping everything is a good way to start over if coming from builds of another source.
2. Install ROM from /sdcard/ aka internal /sdcard/
3. After flashing completes, reboot
4. LET IT SIT A FEW MINUTES
5. Sign in to WI-Fi if available, then sign into your Google account
6. Choose Google launcher when prompted pick "Always" then "OK"
7. open play store and allow Google search and keep to update...
8. reboot.. if Google store seems stuck it is updating... just hold tight or press menu and hold to kill PlayStore then enter it again a few moments later. Remember to Reboot.

FAQ:
Please see the Q and A thread before posting Questions in development threads.
BUGS:
1. FC While using GoogleCamera in video mode and tap screen.. Instead of taking a still shot it force closes. This is not my bug so to speak its well documented on the XDA threads
2. While its not a bug really, but mentionable, before the Google launcher is properly integrated with Google Search, a few apps need to update through the playstore...

nope I tried again just like I always do and nothing I can compute.
Its deodexed.. for this ROM you can just delete the odex files and theme away... I noticed that the md5 sums stayed the same for the .apk part after odexing.. meaning the original app didnt change a bit so just delete the odex part and theme.
just rebuilt the app triple checked it referenced with wanam's guide for Toggles and same result everything worked but after using the flashlight it lagged about 10 secs before becoming responsive.
I have taken logcats of the occurances and have presented them to wanam 's thread or guide to see if anyone can help. its beyond my knowledge at this point and no book to read that I have found,
anyone that wants to help the Flashlight project chime in and or give it a try.
I've noticed the flashlight toggle lag issue with other ROMs as well. The only one which did not have the issue was your JellyBean Odexed 3 ROM. What a mystery haha.
Oh really! I didnt realize that thanks ill look into why maybe that one works better.
I dont beleive I put toggles in that one at all.
Maybe I was thinking of the wrong one. I dl*d. Jellybeast odexed 3.zip
And no toggles but a flashlight app in that rom by tesla
Sent from my SGH-M919 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I think the only difference with that Jelly Odexed 3 ROM was that the toggles weren't customizable. Can't change the order, can't remove or add certain toggles. They were all there. So maybe it was from a different source?
I use the toggled flashlight daily.
anyway all is well I guess no complaints or bugs yet.. Bueno
Calender is not working and I'm getting sync errors. Any ideas

use google calendar delete stock ..thanks for the feedback I will delete calendar and rebuild
So far the ROM seems great, fast and stable. I really like the customizations you've done to it. I know this has already been mentioned but my only gripe is the flashlight toggle lag, especially turning it off. That said, the original stock ROM didn't even have a flashlight toggle (thanks Samsung).

downloading now... is the calendar sync fixed? I like the stock calendar better than google... specially the monthly view... in google calendar it does not show the details. I will be flashing Gwiz shortly, I have been running shadow xtr3me until now and it is starting to slow down... thanks!!
Tried to download the Google calendar.. It won't find my calender just spins. Anyone else get the sync errors under the Google account in settings?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
One other problem I've found, the built in email client does not work with Hotmail. The stock Samsung one does automatically. Seems to be the stock client in this ROM but I can't get Hotmail working automatically or by manually configuring.
Just flashed and really love it so far! Thanks for your work! Couple questions/issues:
I chose google launcher and removed most of the autogenerated shortcuts on the home screens and now have just 2 screens. Id like to add another home screen for media, how do I do that? Forgive me if this is a silly question.
Also, I seem to be going back and forth from 3g to H+ waaayy more than before. Any idea why this is? Seems to actually prefer 3g but im in Chicago and have always used H+ without trouble.
I don't have a stock calendar so I downloaded Google calendar and it wont sync with my google account. When I click "calenders to sync" it says loading, but nothing happens. Ideas?
The stock email app doesn't work for my corporate account, it force closes. Should I remove it and try to add it again???
Every time I restart, its says "android is upgrading...." ideas??
What do all of the icons represent in the toggle section of notification pane.
Thanks so much for your time.....

To add another home screen simply drag an icon or widget to the right side, it will create another screen.
I seem to have the same problem switching way too much between 3G and H+, killing the battery quicker.
The stock e-mail app doesn't work properly for me either, hopefully this gets fixed.
I also get the "Android is upgrading" every time I reboot, any ideas dev?

I tried dragging the icon over and it just wouldn't work. I can add a widget to the other page but then when I take it away the page leaves as well.
I think I may have gotten a bad flash. It was the first time that I flashed a ROM on this phone. I suppose I will try again tomorrow. Thank you for your reply and keep in touch. I will update on any results that I have.

some of the posts are really old for this device, what is the best way to wipe the device clean and start fresh with a new install? I'm using twrp 2.4..... thanks in advance.

So i triple wiped everything and restore my backup through twrp. Triple wiped again and re-flashed gwiz... let it sit for 10 minutes. I have been auto signed in since ive been flashing so....Updated relevant apps through store and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rebooted. Let sit 10 minutes. Things i noticed:
1:
Still cant drag icon over to set up another homescreen.
2:
Corporate email now works!!???
3:
Data connectivity is still an issue. I can see it bouncing between 3g and H+. it takes longer to send sms. Also, i havent mentioned it yet but when i try to place a call, i get a recorded message from tmobile... something about cant be completed. Tried all the options in settings, no joy.....
4:
Google calendar still wont sync with my account.
Will update....

"1:

Yeah I noticed the same the actions.. Google is smart.
4:

What is it that you did to try and fix it??
Look fellas this is old alphabet soup, the same letters are floating around in the bowl. just pull from the bottom and give to the top... Meaning fix it with some new stuffs. I know its hard to figure out what it is that works and doesn't.. that is what i am doing right now so try some new stuff like getting root explorer and dropping some apps in to fill in the blanks... what I gotta spell it out? you gotta read between the lines. expect perfect a little ways down the way this was just the alpha build with no number. -=]
here is a fix for now well its a possible fix I think you all will like it.

[Manual Fix] v2.1.5i Notification auto clear, Apps not autostarting

I've chosen to post this fix that I have created here to bring more attention to XDA, instead of posting directly on OPPO Forums. This is because OPPO staff have clearly stated with their latest release of ColorOS v2.1.5i that it will be their last.
The mods also didn't reply when I offered to share with them this, so.. That's the situation there.
For those who still prefer ColorOS while Project Spectrum is being developed (released today but not all ColorOS features included), follow the steps below.
After 3 weeks if testing.. Here is the fix!!
Issue:
After some usage, you notice app notifications appear, then disappear immediately.
After reboot, this behavior persists. Additionally, your startup apps do not autostart anymore.
Apps in the background are automatically closed after switching to another app.
Manual Fix:
There is a problematic folder and file that needs to be removed. Use a file manager such as Solid Explorer to browse to the files and remove them.
/data/data_bpm - remove folder and files
/data/system/appops.xml - remove file
Reboot and all is fixed.
Persistent notifications hidden using notification centre reappears. Just enable and disable the notification through the notifications control and it will go away.
Tasker is recommended to create a reboot button. The task sequence for reboot would be to remove the problematic files and folder before reboot. It automates the process making your life easier.
If this helps you..
Please spread the word and link back to this thread on xda. ?
Thanks for the fix, dude, very much appreciated
Well done! Even though I am not using COS anymore, I really do appreciate your post!
Thank you for the fix! Cheers
Thanks for the share. Will try this. In the meantime, anyone still having notification problems, try greenify. The fix is in experimental features but you will need to pay for this feature. I've decided to settle on 2.1.5i. Will move to asop when it is more stable. Cheers.

Could you elaborate more? I'm also using greenify but issue still persists.
You need xposed framework for it to work. In settings, go to experimental features. Tick telephony wake up, don't remove notifications and gcm push. I have all notifications coming in on time. Gmail default app seems to be the only problem app so I use default email app instead. P.s. I tried deleting the first folder and files but it shows up again after reboot. The second file is gone. Is this correct? Thanks.

I had all the options selected. Guess it does not work for me.
And yes, files are recreated. I would suggest adding the deletion to a task sequence for reboot to automate the procedure.

Regarding notifications, I've also put every messaging app and email in white list and auto run management. Funny why it's not working out for you. I get reply notifications from youtube too, without adding it. Not sure about how to do the task sequence but everything seems to be fine now.

You can use Tasker to create a reboot button or profile.
But I suggest using other mm roms.. Coloros pales in comparison after I switched.
If you're rooted, removing Security Centre would stop a lot of issues....
These Chinese phones are over the top on built in security apps and I assume because China has a lot of aggressive adware.
Xposed and MinMinGaurd, plus AdBlock Browser fixes a lot of issues.
@RobboW Do you really remove the Security Centre?
I kept it but it is annoying at times. You have to go in and check so many settings if you install anything you want to run at boot or start up itself. I even had to move a couple of apps into system instead of user so they would run reliably.
Does Xposed trouble with Color OS?
Deleting the file and folder seems to do the job, but not 100%. Yesterday I noticed Waze was closing after switching to another app, so I checked and they were back in the data folder. Deleted them again, but they seem to reappear after every reboot? Anyway, now waze seems to work and does not close with the "new" fikes.
Another solution to the problem is to convert apps that have problems to system apps. It worked for me with Chrome (wasn't getting Facebook notifications at all in chrome), Google Calendar, and Titanium Backup (batch actions would not complete because the app would close when not in foreground).
Do you need to be rooted to locate/delete the two files? I can't seem to find it on my device.

Turn your phone's flash into a notification LED

Flash Notifications
This is an app which lets you use your phone's flash as a notification LED. As you might notice our phone doesn't have a notification LED but instead it has a flash light next to the selfie camera. Whenever you get a notification and your screen is turned off, the app will blink the flash light until you dismissed them all. For the sake of battery life the delay between the blinks is increased over time which means the longer you leave your phone alone the rarer a blink will occur.
WHAT IS WORKING NOW
As soon as you get a notification and your screen turns off the phone's selfie flash starts blinking
The blinking is paused when you turn your screen on
The blinking is stopped if you dismiss all of the notifications
KNOWN ISSUES/LIMITATIONS
Because of the way how AlarmManager is implemented no app can wake up the device when it is in dose mode more frequent than 15 minutes. This means as soon as the device enters into deep sleep my app will only be able to wake up the device and blink the flash light in every 15 minutes
Notifications posted by music player/radio also trigger a notification - expected to be resolved in the future
PLANS FOR FUTURE
Prevent specific apps to use flash notifications
Let the user select the which apps should use flash notifications
Let the user switch between front and back facing flash
Define blinking patterns for individual apps
Make the settings exportable into storage or cloud
Increase the list of supported devices
The current build is only expected to work on J510 running Android 6.0.1.
Download APK
I NEED YOUR HELP
Please report any app that should be excluded by default. One of those apps are music apps, if you pause the song a cleanable notification will be created and my app will start blinking the flash which of course is not desired.

This app comes freely WITHOUT ANY KIND OF WARRANTY! I don't take any responsibility for the damages it might cause (data loss/missed alarms because the battery died too fast/you being fired because you were late from work)! This is an alpha release!

How to request features
Feature requests are always welcome however because I'm doing the development of this app in my free time I can promise anything. Don't ask for an ETA!

How to install the app
Enable "Unknown sources" in the Settings > Lock screen and security
Install the APK
Enable the app in Settings > Lock screen and security > Other security settings > Notification access
The app needs to have access to all of your notifications in order to detect when do you get or dismiss one. It won't spy on them and it won't collect any sensible data regarding them.

As long as it doesn't have internet connection permission, everything is alright. Such app wouldn't need internet connection I guess

It is a background service. It doesn't have a launcher icon. Read the instructions before making accusations.
My phone freezes can't use after installed this app
I was forced to factory settings wipe all now everything starts over again
PS. I'm on android 5.1.1 SM-J5108, didn't notice the instructions at first :/
Nice app.
Stock rom has this option in Settings Accessibility Hearing. Can not get it to work though.
Edit: Stock flash notification is only for back flash lite and for certain apps. I tested your app/service and it works
great. Maybe some user settings like front/back flash and timers? Perhaps apps list with toggles?
Keep up the good work.
Stocm Rom Has It
No matter whether you're in 5.0 or 6.0, there is a setting under "Accessibility/Hearing" for the feature. Only helpful indoors and at night though.
Cool, but is there any way to dim the flash brightness?
It also flashes after notification of installed app. Not big deal.
Cool work full
Wish this would work on my Moto 4G Play, don't know why manufactures are removing visual (LED) notifications from their devices, even my cheap LG Volt has this feature and it's very helpful when you are away from you phone.
