I've chosen to post this fix that I have created here to bring more attention to XDA, instead of posting directly on OPPO Forums. This is because OPPO staff have clearly stated with their latest release of ColorOS v2.1.5i that it will be their last.
The mods also didn't reply when I offered to share with them this, so.. That's the situation there.
For those who still prefer ColorOS while Project Spectrum is being developed (released today but not all ColorOS features included), follow the steps below.
After 3 weeks if testing.. Here is the fix!!
Issue:
After some usage, you notice app notifications appear, then disappear immediately.
After reboot, this behavior persists. Additionally, your startup apps do not autostart anymore.
Apps in the background are automatically closed after switching to another app.
Manual Fix:
There is a problematic folder and file that needs to be removed. Use a file manager such as Solid Explorer to browse to the files and remove them.
/data/data_bpm - remove folder and files
/data/system/appops.xml - remove file
Reboot and all is fixed.
Persistent notifications hidden using notification centre reappears. Just enable and disable the notification through the notifications control and it will go away.
Tasker is recommended to create a reboot button. The task sequence for reboot would be to remove the problematic files and folder before reboot. It automates the process making your life easier.
If this helps you..
Please spread the word and link back to this thread on xda. ?
Thanks for the fix, dude, very much appreciated
Well done! Even though I am not using COS anymore, I really do appreciate your post!
Thank you for the fix! Cheers
Thanks for the share. Will try this. In the meantime, anyone still having notification problems, try greenify. The fix is in experimental features but you will need to pay for this feature. I've decided to settle on 2.1.5i. Will move to asop when it is more stable. Cheers.

Could you elaborate more? I'm also using greenify but issue still persists.
You need xposed framework for it to work. In settings, go to experimental features. Tick telephony wake up, don't remove notifications and gcm push. I have all notifications coming in on time. Gmail default app seems to be the only problem app so I use default email app instead. P.s. I tried deleting the first folder and files but it shows up again after reboot. The second file is gone. Is this correct? Thanks.

I had all the options selected. Guess it does not work for me.
And yes, files are recreated. I would suggest adding the deletion to a task sequence for reboot to automate the procedure.

Regarding notifications, I've also put every messaging app and email in white list and auto run management. Funny why it's not working out for you. I get reply notifications from youtube too, without adding it. Not sure about how to do the task sequence but everything seems to be fine now.

You can use Tasker to create a reboot button or profile.
But I suggest using other mm roms.. Coloros pales in comparison after I switched.
If you're rooted, removing Security Centre would stop a lot of issues....
These Chinese phones are over the top on built in security apps and I assume because China has a lot of aggressive adware.
Xposed and MinMinGaurd, plus AdBlock Browser fixes a lot of issues.
@RobboW Do you really remove the Security Centre?
I kept it but it is annoying at times. You have to go in and check so many settings if you install anything you want to run at boot or start up itself. I even had to move a couple of apps into system instead of user so they would run reliably.
Does Xposed trouble with Color OS?
Deleting the file and folder seems to do the job, but not 100%. Yesterday I noticed Waze was closing after switching to another app, so I checked and they were back in the data folder. Deleted them again, but they seem to reappear after every reboot? Anyway, now waze seems to work and does not close with the "new" fikes.
Another solution to the problem is to convert apps that have problems to system apps. It worked for me with Chrome (wasn't getting Facebook notifications at all in chrome), Google Calendar, and Titanium Backup (batch actions would not complete because the app would close when not in foreground).
Do you need to be rooted to locate/delete the two files? I can't seem to find it on my device.

Hi guys, could someone please have a look at our SwitchMe app and see if it works on the Nexus 7 - we dont have one of these at the office and are unlikely to get one any time soon
Basically, SM allows many people to use one device. But it has a lot of other uses. PR is after the break!
Thanks in advance!

SwitchMe - share your device!
SwitchMe is a unique application for root users that allows you to log in and out of multiple user spaces just as you would on a desktop computer, with each profile having its own separate system settings, apps and data.
Some of the benefits of this technology:
Privacy
Securely share one device among many users, protect your accounts with passwords and log out automatically.
Kids
Create a profile for the kids, with only the apps and access you feel comfortable with.
Gaming
Overclock your profile for maximum performance in intensive games
Speed
Imagine a buttery smooth profile, with no kids games, messengers or bloatware to slow things down.
Testing
Create a sandbox profile to easily test applications and themes - no more nandroid nightmares!
Battery
Switch to a profile which only contains the essentials to save power through brute force.
Critical usage warning:
Incorrect use of this application can potentially harm your device. Before proceeding with use we strongly recommend that you perform a full nandroid backup through the device recovery.
READ THE HELP FILE CAREFULLY TO AVOID ISSUES
Without the Key, this application allows a maximum of 2 profiles and no security features.
Only the standard Android implementation of Apps2SD is currently supported. Use all others at your own risk.
Most devices should be compatible as long as they have enough free internal memory to create secondary profiles. The application will warn users if available memory is low.
Stay tuned for new features, and please rate the application by pressing the star button on the main screen - good ratings help us improve and expand functionality!
Market link:

The free version only allows the creation of two profiles and has no security features.

I just installed it and went through creating different accounts, setting admin, switching users. I don't have time to test out everything, but it seems to work fine for me.
Working fine for me, been using it for a few weeks now.
I only use the basic settings. If you need anything testing, give me a shout.

Been looking at this app for quite some time but never actually tested it out... now I have a nexus 7 it might be a time to change that.
Firstly what I would want is to set a second profile for my girlfriend, hiding all root apps and giving her a kindle profile etc, the basic stuff. I take it that is what this app is designed to do?
secondly, how does uninstalling this app work?

It all seems to work perfectly for me. Great app. SwitchMe allows me to lend my N7 to family members whilst keeping my profile intact and hidden.
My only suggestion at the moment is to allow a different wallpaper choice for the switch screen. I could then set a background with graphic instructions/welcome messages on it.

1 - yes
2 - uninstalling the app will not remove the profiles. You must manually remove them, either through the app or by deleting its data. The app will warn you that you will lose access to all inactive profiles when deleting them (restricting you to the profile youre in at the moment).

Hello, I'm very interested in this app.
I want to be able to have my own profile and one for my children to play educational games.
I would like to be able to hide applications on that particular profile even if the data is not shared across profiles on the same app.
I would also be concern about the storage. Would they be able to view the files on my sdcard from other profiles? Is there a way to prevent that or allocated some storage space for different accounts?
Also another concern that I have is with Rom updates or even switching roms. In the case I want to just update the rom and at worst I have to do a cache/dalvik cache wipe, would that affect the profiles in any way?
Edit: I just tested and I can view everything on the storage area of the device and further. Also the gallery shows all the photos that stored on the device.
As I said above, the maintenance is up to you. Regarding different roms - you can only use one base from - if you want to use a new one, you will need to remove the app and delete your profiles.
Anything to report?
Hi guys. Heres an update with some critical fixes:
1.5.3.13
Added compatibility for Galaxy Note
Fixed switch screen issue on OTA updates and wipes
Reworked wipe profile behavior
I created a new profile and named it "default". Then I chose to switch to it and my player rebooted. After rebooting though it comes up with a login screen but whenever I put in my name "default" and try to log in it does nothing. I'm completely locked out. Also I did not set any password. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I suggest you use a the other switch screen theme if you want to switch and unlock faster.
I can't get into the device to change the settings because of the login screen.
I think I just answered you. The login is case sensitive. Or do you have some other problem?
I have already tested on the n7, it works fine...
Hello,
First off, I want to say thank you for creating this app. It has been working great for my family to share our N7.
I'm familiar with linux, but I am not familiar with Android. So I have a couple questions.
1. I installed an app(game) in the wrong user's profile. My son made alot of progress in it and I don't want to lose it. Is there a way to copy an app and all of its data from one profile to another?
2. If I download a new app in one profile is there a way to copy it to multiple profiles without having to redownload it again. Could this be done through ADB?
3. If I wanted to wipe the tablet and start over will doing a backup with TiBu copy all the data for every user or do I need to do a separate backup for each user?
Thanks for your help,
Chris
Been using it ever since I got my Nexus 7, works great for my wife and I.
I haven't tried the experimental fast-switch though, maybe I should.
My only recommendation is to set the priority on the notification to one of the new JellyBean ones, the lowest. That way it will stay in the notification tray, but won't show the icon on the top bar. That's something Lux and Battery Widget Reborn do really well. It still keeps the apps running, just doesn't crowd the bar with icons.

1 - titanium backup
2 - yes sure why not go for it
3 - no, unless you wipe the profiles through the app or manually delete them they will remain intact on the sd card

Fast switch will only affect things like multiple languages, multiple lcd densities and and other framework related stuff. Just try it, it wont make your device explode.
Regarding the notification. It is not there to keep the app in memory, its there for logging out. App doesnt need to be in memory, it will work just fine with no notification at all.
**English is not my first language and i haven't used it for a long time, knowing that you should consider to forgive me any mispelling and bad language.
I've had a extreamly ugly case of this phenamenon for the last 7-0 days. And tried almost every method that people here and on XDA have been posting about the subject, with absolute zero luck.
But, yesterday i decided to mix together methods that i had seen from other people, there were few that i tought was more logical than other so why not give it a try. And it worked
Please notice that this is not my work, this is completely other peoples knowledge that i simply put together.
I have LG G3 D855, but theoretically it should work on any kind.
you're device have to have root access and Xposed framework.
open App ops (you can find many apps on play to access it) scroll down to Google Play Services and disable the permissons "Wake" and "keep awake" Then repeat this on Android System and Google Search, you´ll find them on same list as play services.
Install 3C Toolbox (aka Android Tuner) and activate it in Xposed.
on the list on the left in 3C Toolbox, scroll down to Apps manager and select apps startup and events, there you find the same apps as before and when you click each one you´ll get a dropdown with endless processes, find and uncheck "WAKEUP"
On the list on the left navigate to app permissions and click "prevent phone from sleeping. Find those apps there and turn the switch to "block"
Now restart your device.
This should do the trick, or at least it worked for me. I went from 80% wake to sweet deep sleep most of the time that im not using the phone.
I Should add that i also installed Greenify and added those and few more apps to it.
I hope this will help at least someone

What app did you install for enabling App Ops access?
There are many on the GP and some apparently have some kind of problems (uninstalling, crashing, etc.).

Yes i am using AndroidNow, but first time i applied these settings i was on rooted stock rom , it works on both of them.
I noticed this morning that this seems to disable the location settings of Android Device Manager. so there are some functions that this will cost, but in my opinion i had so much batt draining, that device manager is pretty much useless if the battery is off. So untill google wipes their asses and update play services this is the best i can do.
I have used these two apps to access app ops, both have been successfull:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.findsdk.apppermission
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.schurich.android.tools.appopsstarter
the app ops starter has the opinion too check if your rom has app ops by default fefore trying to add it to the device. And i´ve found out that in LG G3 D855 international the app ops settings actually are availeble in android 4.4.2 so i haven't had to flash the settings yet. i just used the app to add a feature to access the setting.
I hope this was helpfull and answers your questions, and sorry how i´ve not been able to reply earlier, we're on different timezones and i usually just visit this site at nights, sometimes everyday, and sometimes everyother day.
Hi guys i just installed Crdroid pie rom, is a nice rom i really like the customization, the problem is that my notifications for Whatsapp are delayed, don't really know if it is the same for other apps. I got the doze for google play sevices module for magisk, i removed greenify because i thought this app was messing with this, i removed whatsapp from battery optimization, but nothing works. To clarify, i had all this configuration on Leedroid rom and never got this problem. Any idea on how to solve this?

Did you by any chance restore a whatsapp backup from Titanium Backup? I know when I did that, I would miss tons of notifications and had reinstall whatsapp and restore chats via the app's own backup and restore function.

No, i just installed from play store and didn't did the backup from the app. Now i did a hard reset but i think that the problem still there, this time i didn't install any mods or change any config.
Is so annoying, the messages are delayed to 5 or more minutes, and sometimes they doesn't show until i open whatsapp.
I've seen this app as optimized in the battery configs: com.google.android.gms.setup
Sorry guys but im such a noob

Sounds like maybe you don't have the app set to allow background data usage..?
I don't use the app myself, but that's what I would check.
Go to*Settings > (may be under network and internet)Tap Data Usage > Tap Mobile data usage > Select WhatsApp*> Tap Background data to enable if unchecked*(path may vary slightly depending on OS version and rom)

I've trying a lot of things, and i get to the conclution that is there's no problem with battery optimization because i disable Doze by adb and the messages still delayed. I think is ram managment, a very aggressive behavior of it, whatsapp just don't work in background, gets killed by system just a few minutes after being open don't know if it is caused by the rom or by pie. Gonna try another pie rom to see if that solves my problem, if not, i'm gonna have to back to oreo

I second this.
no special rom, just used adb/fastboot tools to uninstall - can't put links here for some reason, but just google it - its on github. Super simple, graphical interface. If you uninstall, it saves the .apk's so you can reinstall if necessary
The tool is called Saki tools
The tool that I always use is called saki tools, available on github. I'm sure he uses this also. It's great.
Just enable usb debugging on phone, open the application on pc and allow usb debugging, delete whatever you want.
Hopefully this clears up some confusion.

Not called Saki tools, its made by a developer names SZaki - its called Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tools. but yes, thats the link. (why can i not post links?)

For which version of miui?
Could you make as it.bat files for one click usage, yeah Miui also tend to change Apk names randomly each version update so you need to make different [.bat] for each miui versions. I did has my own personal list. Personally tested but outdated for already sold whyred.
You could make one click with options wizard
[remove extra Google app]
[total remove Google (Unsafe, for some one who want reinstall to microg/bitsGapps/picoGAPPs, make sure you already logout Google and has other keyboard installed) ]
[remove extra miui]
[total remove miui apps(make sure you got another launcher and logout miui account)]
[remove all non miui/Google bloats (Ie. Fb, preinstalled game)]
have you downloaded the program from github? Its a fully gui - click and delete. its for all current versions of miui as far as the developer has said. personally i'm on 10.4.4.0. The list that it gives you to delete are considered "safe to delete apps" - worst case i guess you soft brick.and need to do a factory reset. The app also leaves all the .apks for you to reinstall should something misbehave.

Yes, I already know for months already about it but her list is too simple and disabling function is buggy, disabled app still asking for update. Once we update it by mistake, or just changing region, they"ll back.

I'm not sure what you are talking about - i have uninstalled everything on the list here - get no errors/bugs/requests for updates. They are gone and the phone is faster/safer and the battery lasts longer.

I just debloated successfully and it's all working fine. But i'm still left with the same amount of free space as i had before i uninstalled any of the apps i did.... Makes me wonder if Szaki tools really uninstalls the apps or somehow disables them without removing it from the device... Kinda suspicious to be honest...
PS: Also, i want to uninstall this really unnecessary download handler that comes with this phone but i don't see an option to do so?

This Is why I said the list is not suitable for me. It's good for newbie but people with more experience need POWERUSER MODE to remove more bloats, like fully uninstall ALL MIUI related to make it as close as stock for example. Yes, I can use adb manually or use debloat module in magisk, but tools to make it easier will be very welcomed

I agree. Someone already mentioned that at git too but Szaki's reply was to use "Add Apps" from the "App Manager" menu and update the list with what you want to remove. Apparently all the tabs use the same list...

it leaves the apks on your phone so you can reinstall if necessary, so they are still going to take up some space.
There is ALSO a disable tab you can use, which does exactly that.
Are you 100% sure you didn't gain a small amount of space? I gained a bit after deleting the ones on my list.

he has stated multiple times that the list to intentionally small to avoid the huge amount of dependencies that miui bakes into their apps and OS. each phone has different dependencies, and sometimes what works on one phone, soft bricks another. SO... there is an option to add apps (at your discretion) but even the safe list is not promised to not soft brick a phone (some phones the list is fully safe, others, maybe it trips a dependency and breaks something
If you want, start adding apps from outside the list and respond with your findings That would be the POWERUSER thing to do, would it not?.

Thanks, please have a look at this excellent post about debloating.
Though this is for redmi note 2, the list of apps you can safely remove is still quite actual.
Even though my phone is rooted, I couldn't remove system apk's and folders.
I've done so manually through twrp after first safely freezing apps by titanium to observe.
Root folder space is now at 70 %, which used to be over 90 if I remember well. :fingers-crossed:
Yup, despite being enabled, in OS13, I do not get notifications of calendar reminders or events.
If you do get them, tell us how please.
Have you modified any settings (permissions or app specific) or installed any battery management type apps?

Nope, not at all. I've checked snd re-checked the calendar app's permissions and notification settings and they're fine.
Under the optimize app list, the calendar app doesn't even show up
Stock OOS 13? Some things you could try:
- Making sure your sync is on
- Making sure calendar is being synced within sync settings
- Updating your calendar app to a beta (apkmirror)
- Clearing cache and data from calendar app
- Allowing background data on calendar app

thank you koda
I did all of the above, but did not find a beta for the Google calendar. I am on the latest release of the app. This is really weird and frustration. I opened a ticket (whatever that means) within the oneplus community page.
No problem, sorry those didn't fix it and hope you get it working. If you do get it fixed, post how you got it fixed if you wouldn't mind!

will do
I even tried to delete the app using titanium backup with the hope of reinstalling it, but TB could not delete it because it couldn't find the apk. Is it because it's a system file and it resides somewhere else that TB is not looking?
Might be. I try not to use Titanium Backup as it's had issues with reliability, especially with the newest releases of Android. Did you back it up before uninstalling? If so, there should be some place on your phone it's stored. Maybe try looking at where Titanium Backup stores backups

I was not able to uninstall it since TB couldn't locate the apk. TB has a way to force-remove a system app using a built-in exploit, but I didn't want to experiment with that.
I wonder if I can navigate to a directory and simply remove the apk. I will search that option.
Oh, I understand what you're saying now. Yeah, not too sure about that, but hopefully OnePlus can help
An update. And a new year
OP tech support told me to factory reset the device, which makes me cringe, sort of. I'm rooted and this is my daily phone, so I don't want to mess with that.
I clarify that my calendar event reminders work fine. It is the REMINDERS subfuction within the calendar app that do not remind at all.
I have found that if you have past reminders that aren't marked "done", it can stop future ones from triggering

Thank you Sam and that's an excellent point. Reminders not marked as "done" continue to roll on in the calendar to present day.
I checked and went as far back as January of 2021, and all of mine are marked as done.
