Question My MI11x got bricked during charging - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hi Guys,
My Mi11x warranty expired on 29 April, 2022.
On 25 May while my phone was in charging (using company provided charger) it became dead so I tried turning it on using Fast boot mode but no it became physically dead. So I visited MI service centre they opened the device and told me the motherboard is dead (no reason given) they gave me cost estimation of 22000rs for motherboard replacement for a 30000rs device.
After searching online this seems to be a problem in Mi11 series specially in China (I'll attach the article) So when I contacted MI India service on twitter with this article and some other proof they admitted this is their fault and they can only pay 50% of cost so rest 11000rs I have to pay which I can't afford.
So I wanted to know has this thing happened to anyone from this group or elsewhere who owns this device and is there any practical and affordable solution to this. Please guide me.
Thanks.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Got Complaints About Overheating Motherboard – Research Snipers

bạn dùng mi11x nhưng bạn lại cho bài của mi11, đây là 2 thiết bị hoàn toàn khác nhau,

Some Mi service centres have the nasty habit of diagnosing phones not booting as a dead motherboard.
My advice will be to get the offer in writing from the service centre and try replacing the battery first at your own cost. Had a Mi3 (the first phone from Mi India) and they were asking for Rs 9k in 2019 for motherboard for a phone that cost 14k in 2013. I replaced the battery from a street vendor and worked well till I bricked it a while back.
Best case your phone comes back to life. Worst case you'll still be in current position ....

Swollen battery

Hello, I repost this since my morning post isn't up somehow.
My P6 has got big issues with the battery: swollen till it comes out from the back (static) cover. I tried to contact Huawei service here in Italy but no reply after more than 24h. Am I the firs with this problem? I'll post a pic of the P6 soon, but it just look like the old iphone 3gs with swollen fat battery popping out from the case.
->Here I uploaded some pics.<- Sad to see my beloved slim P6 in its new chubby state
Support service kindly invited me to look for a pick up point by this broken link.
Hi
It's the first time i see that .. on p6. I've got this problem with an Old Sony and when I sent it to the SAV They told me to change it. But on this device it's not supposed to be removed ..
It's not a big problem if it's not supposed to be removed, you can easily find a new battery for our device try aliexpress, taobao, or find a Huawei parts dealer and order one. It shouldn't cost much.
Replacing the battery is not the point. YouTube is full of how to deassembly the P6. The true point is that this should't happen and if it happens the service should send a navy seal by helicopter to pick up my phone and replace it before I make it pubblic. C'mon this is a late '90s battery issue (remember the nokia bl5?). By now all the Huawei service could do is forwarding my mail to some unofficial dealers, some of them reply me that they are on summer leave, some others with broken links...
P7 was my first choise after the P6 but now I think I'm coming back to Samsung...
In eu its clearly not your problem. Seller or manufacturer should replace the battery (and phone if damaged) free of charge.
In fact I'm waiting for some serius support from Huawei but they are missing
Sadly hawei didn't reply me anymore. Worst consumer service ever. Nor their pickup point partners reply my mail. Now I'm trying to contact TIM service (telecom italia brand). Soon I'll post a video with some detail and the hyperfast battery draining after 50%. Too bad for an almost new phone.

Dont they have a walk in service where you bought the phone from? You really shouldnt use that because faulty batterys can do some real damage in trouser pockets And even cause a fire in your house.

Yes I just read the last news about yet another S4 autoburning.
Now I'm in Capri (a small island in Napoli), far from the continent, the closet pickup point from here is 1h by ferry.

Just an update: a mail from mobile.it (wich should be the italian support) asked my IMEI. I reply. That's all. More than 2 weeks are passed.
Huawei service support have to be improved. A lot.
Ah, I feel you.
Such a shame because the P6 is a special phone.
When it's working well, nothing else comes close....even the P7 doesn't get proportion and design quite as perfect - I doubt they'll ever make another as good as this - design wise.
But to many things underwhelming. Stutter - though this is alot better with the new software. Heat again alot improved.
My battery did the same two weeks after I got the phone but my boyfriend fixed it. No problem since update.
A shame though.

Looking for new original battery or one made for Redmi 1s for a respected brand.

Hello, my Redmi 1s's battery has decayed over time and it's life now is only 30-40 mins max at a full charge now. I tried to look for the original battery online but Xiaomi doesn't sell them online, their customer support told me I can only get them from service centres, service centre told me it'll cost 700 rupees and will take a MONTH to ship. I am hoping someone knows where I can get the original xiaomi brand new online or one made for the Redmi 1s from a respected brand. Thanks for the help.

Bootloop probability

Hi all,
I just bought a LG Nexus 5X (32 Go H791) one month ago.
It is supposed to be a german model (DE on the label), and the date code is October 2015 (so more than one year of storage...).
I bought it on amazon.fr
From the time I got it everything works as expected. The only point I am a bit disappointed is the battery life (but I can deal with it).
I am in the process to root it, but the potential bootloop issue scares me a bit if I need to send it back to LG during the warranty period.
I read a lot of things on Internet to try to figure if my 5X had a potential issue, but didn't find something accurate.
Regarding the root cause of the issue (weak solder on CPU or eMMC), I wonder if only some particular lots of production are incriminated or is it random?
Moreover working in the field of electronic, I know that was reveals solders weaknesses are temperature variations (stabndard test called Rapid Temperature Cycling).
Knowing this I am wondering if stressing the phone a lot during warranty period by launching benchmarks or something else could raise the potential issue quickly?
I found lots of testimonies of people facing the issue but can find a number of the probability to be affected...
If someone has something to share about this feel free!
Regards.

Ne kenjam, pitam, tel se smrzne toliko da displej pocne zutiti od ove mazie
Off: I ordered mine 5X, tomorrow it's coming
I think if CM is installed that is not a problem about warranty, becuase if the solder mess up, they can't see that you have CM
(Hope i'm not wrong)
They will refund you, they don't try to fix the device, because there are no more motherboards.
The more important thing is the bootloader is unlocked.
The question is: can we relock if we get hw bootloop?
Asked some time, but no one could answer me. I think the most of people having bootloop is just a simple user with locked bootloader.
Another thing:
I read if you heat up the cpu with a hair dryer the phone will work for some hours maybe days. Then we can relock bl and flash stock rom.
And i read that we can off the 2 bigger core and the phone will work (laggy) then we can again relock bl and flash stock.
So there is some possibility to keep the warranty.

In that case, only display can suffer but I think it can't break down that easily. It can become unresponsive but it should be ok when temperature is back to normal. To be honest, since the first phone with display, i was very careful not to use it outside during the winter

If you didn't buy it from operator or in LG store, you are on your own. I bought it from Mladen from Ns(kupujemprodajem.com) and i still have 3 months guarantee but i don't expect anything if it breaks down. Trying not to think about that

Oneplus RMA horror story

So, i had my Oneplus 3 not booting so i opened an RMA ticket 26 days ago. After dozens of emails they accepted to have my device repaired. DHL picked up my device and after 3 days it was with Arvato for repair. The motherboard was found faulty and so they performed an in-warranty motherboard replacement. What happened though after that? My device shipped from Greece for repair and Oneplus after repairing it, sent it to the Netherlands to an unknown person there. It's been 2 weeks now since the incident and the only answer i get from Oneplus is that the issue has been escalated and that someone is working on it. What can i do? any similar experiences? It really feels like nothing is done and that my device was lost in the Bermuda triangle with oneplus staying idle...

Tried that, with no success unfortunately... Definitely my last oneplus phone. I prefer to pay a bit more and get some proper service support in case something happens to a future device.
RIP @Konskl 's OnePlus3

This can littery happen with all devices bro. Motorola is not even reachable for support/replacement. Samsung is insanely expensive... If you are in the EU I would claim the rights you have.

yep the thing is that other brands like Samsung or Apple, wouldn't keep their customers without a device during that time. They would offer a replacement or something. Oneplus did nothing in that regards, they just stayed idle saying a colleague is working on this. What should a customer do when it comes to that? Buy a new device and incur new costs? That's not proper customer support.

When I sended back my old S3 they said that volume buttons do not fall under warranty, I had to pay €50 to get the phone back.. We all have had good and bad experiences with support from different brands. I don't think it actually matters if you have an. Samsung, Huawei or Oneplus device.
Samsung would leave you stranded, just saying
Good luck getting ur op back
