Alternative to Sound Assistant to fix Bluetooth Audio Lag?? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Questions & Answers

Hi!
I thought that all of my problems were solved when it was announced that the Samsung Sound Assistant had a Bluetooth Metronome that allowed you to sync your audio and video. This would have been especially helpful in the car (I do not have Android Auto, nor a 3.5 mm Aux jack, sadly). The problem is that the version of Sound Assistant that is allowed to be installed on the Galaxy Tab S4 (T837A), is a version that doesn't have this Bluetooth Metronome capability.
So, i'm hoping someone on here has the answer, as I have looked everywhere. Is there an alternative to the Sound Assistant app that will fix the delay problem between audio and video (specifically YouTube)? Or, is there a way to force the latest Sound Assistant app onto my Galaxy Tab S4 so that I can fix this issue? Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated.

Bluetooth Streaming Issue

I am currently running the Purity 4.4 JB 4.2.1 version of Android on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I have tried several ROMS to no avail. I pair my phone to BT devices with no problem. The phone shows Media Connected in the Bluetooth settings however when I attempt to stream audio to my car or bluetooth speaker, the sound just plays on the phone. I have attempted to use several apps (including Google Music) to attempt to force the sound to the speaker with no luck. I've seen a bunch of issue threads where Bluetooth issues ranging from audio quality being poor to issues with streaming. I haven't found a single response thread that solves the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thank you!

[Q] Pick audio from bluetooth headset when recording video

Hi!
I have a GNex with 4.2.2 firmware and a Jabra Wave+ bt headset.
I tried to use BTMONO app to pick audio from BT when recording video.
Igcamcorder app let me choose to record the audio from the external mic instead of the terminal mic.
This configuration works very well with the Galaxy tab 2 10.1 and the same BT headset when activating BTMONO, but when using Galaxy Nexus its continue to use internal mic.
I really appreciate to use Galaxy Nexus with external BT mic. With this configuration i will be able to do professional video recording (Full HD and decent audio) with a very portable hardware.
Please let me know if there is a solution, even hacking firmware or using another app.
Thanks in advance,
Alessandro

Bluetooth microphone and OK Google

Having an issue where I can't get the microphone on any of my Bluetooth devices to work with OK Google.
I have a motorcycle Bluetooth (china brand) and also a set of Jabra headphones. Both work done playing music and using them on phone calls but for the life of me when I activate OK Google it defaults to the internal microphone only and won't use the Bluetooth microphone.
I've tried changing all the settings under voice in the ok Google settings and also the settings to do with Bluetooth headset and hands-free bit still can't get it to work.
Is it just me, is it my settings or has OK Google stopped working via Bluetooth (I've read others have no issue)
Running 8.0 but have also tried it on a 7.2.1 S8
Any help or ideas?
Hi!
I just have to ask, did you ever get this working, and if so, how?!
I'm having the exact same problem as you, with a Galaxy S6 on 7.0 and a BT-S2 chinese helmet intercom.
I'm going crazy and really considering going back to iphone just because of this.
Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. Did not get any notification about the reply.
Did not get it working. Turns out it needs to be included in the headset as a standard feature (which the china headset did not have) Now use Sena headsets and they work great.

Moto G6 Play Bluetooth Microphone Quality

I'm using a Moto G6 Play with a Beats X Bluetooth headset. If I connect it and leave everything as it is, the earpiece audio works but the microphone doesn't. I searched around and found something called BTMono which fixed the mic not working, however the mic quality is really, really bad. I found an app called SoundAbout but the app crashes every time I try to open it. I've tried messing with the developer settings, the codecs and things like that but still no luck. Does anyone know how to fix it so that the microphone works and with good quality? Thanks in advance

Hey, what bluetooth version is your headset using? maybe it is some kind of compatibility issue? I use a pair of JVC bluetooth headphones and haven't had any complaints so far.

Bluetooth audio quality question

Hello. I change phones alot and have noticed that some phones(all android) have better bluetooth playback than others.
I had a oneplus 7 pro before this phone and the bluetooth quality to my truck was great and had no issues but with this phone the highs sounds scratchy or like if the speaker is bad. But if i connect it with a wire connection it sounds great. Everything with the 2 phones is the same. On both i was using the galaxy watch and pretty much the same apps. On a previous phone the note 8 i had the same issue but it was a different car. Seems like its the way samsung handles bluetooth.
Has anyone had this issue? If so was there a fix?
Thanks

What do you mean?
The only two things I think about is the codec used that may be different across devices, and the Bluetooth settings that sync the phones volume with the headset (the differences are noticeable).
Since no DAC is used in Bluetooth, I don't think it can comes from them, for a same headset.
On Samsung phones you should run the adapt sound process. Try this.
I tried with the sync volume off too and no improvement.
I looked for the adapt sound and my phone doesn't have that setting. Or is it something different?
It's in Sounds and Vibration 》 Advanced Sound settings 》Sound Quality and effects 》 Adapt sound
You have to do this in a quiet place and ensure to answer honestly. If you can't hear the beeping press no.
After doing this the sound quality is night and day difference.
Ok found it. Ill play with it a bit. Thanks
I've had issues sometimes with audio being piped through the "Calls" Bluetooth channel versus the "Audio" channel so worth checking as the quality is obviously night and day.
I also like enabling Dolby Atmos on my Note 10+ for music so worth playing with too. Additionally, I recently found Samsung's Sound Assistant app which let's you customize a bunch of sound settings so worth checking out as well:

Is there an easy way to tell if the audio is going through the call channel?

Easiest is probably just uncheck calls in your phones BT settings for your truck (and make sure audio is enabled). If the sound is still not great then this isn't the issue.
Sorry to respond to an old thread, but I was wondering if any of this fixed the OP's problem. I followed all the recommendations here and on other threads but have not been able to solve my recent Bluetooth audio problem. The sound has been terrible lately.
Same issue here on my s10+. When playing any audio in my car via BT i hear the distortion/hissing noise especially when the song has a higher treble frequency.
I have just about tried all fixes i could find on Google, and no luck.
When connecting to my ear buds (Jabra Elite 65t) it disappears and checked in developer mode that it supports to AAC for BT Codecs.
But when connecting to the car it reverts to SBC.
The issue clearly lies on Samsungs side, as my brother has a Huawei p30 Pro, also has bluetooth 5 and plays amazingly well in all aspects (Bass-Mids-Treble).
I know I'm posting this almost a year later, but i am desperately looking for a fix.
SN. I have recently updated my phone to Android 10, despite all the complaints to Samsung from many users... Sadly this issue has not being fixed on my side.
From what i see online, people have given up on Samsung and opted for Rooting their Samsungs and installing Viper4Andriod.
Has any one done this and can confirm that it fixed the issue?
