I'm using a Moto G6 Play with a Beats X Bluetooth headset. If I connect it and leave everything as it is, the earpiece audio works but the microphone doesn't. I searched around and found something called BTMono which fixed the mic not working, however the mic quality is really, really bad. I found an app called SoundAbout but the app crashes every time I try to open it. I've tried messing with the developer settings, the codecs and things like that but still no luck. Does anyone know how to fix it so that the microphone works and with good quality? Thanks in advance

Hey, what bluetooth version is your headset using? maybe it is some kind of compatibility issue? I use a pair of JVC bluetooth headphones and haven't had any complaints so far.

Please help me before i go crazy on this!
I bought a new handsfree (Plantronics Voyager 520) hoping it was something wrong with my old one.
So my problem is that when I use my handsfree I hear alot of noises and sometimes I can´t even hear the other part because of that. But it seems to be only me that hear this, not the one I talk to.
I tried changing the Linespeed value in registry, but that didn´t help.
Maybe if I flash a new radio??
I have searched, but havn´t found any help. Dont know if this is a known problem?
Someone knows?
It seems to be something with the reception. All i hear is alot of cracking noise.
I have also tried with my Jabra BT3030 and the sound is good. But not when im using any of my headsets.
I, too, use a Plantronics 520 with my AT&T Tilt2. I hear lots of snap, crackle and pop but the other party does not hear it.
Anybody?
using a Plantronics Discovery 925 and it's pretty clear. No call quality complaints from both sides. Only complaint I have is it picks up too well sometimes the other party can hear some unwanted noises...
I havn´t found a solution to this problem. Someone else have a good idea??
Double post
I use a Jabra Dogtag with the touch pro2, i have clear sound in music and phone works also good.
Even the play, next and prev keys work perfect.
Try going to the bluetooth menu and activate stereo sound instead of headset (Maybe
Or turn off secure connection.
This might not help, but who knows

By Dogtag, you mean BT3030?? I have one of those also and it´s working for me. But when i connect to one of my hedsets it´s very bad sound.
I have an old SE and a new Plantronics, but same issue with both. But only when i connect those to my TP2. Both those are mono-headset you put on your ear.
Hello everyone,
I paired my LG Tone HBS-700 with the Nexus 7. Audio works flawlessly but when it comes to microphone ...
When making a call in Skype or Viber I can't get the mic on the bluetooth headset to work. I can only hear audio. The mic on the tablet works fine but hey I bought a bluetooth headset to get away from the tablet and relax on the bed.
Any solutions?
I think this is known. Corded headset with mic doesn't work either.

I've griped on end over this and searched so I'll save you some time. It seems no app except for grooveip works with bluetooth recording. I haven't tried grooveip myself but others say it definitely works. If it wasn't for grooveip, I would suspect the proper audio profile isn't there in the nexus 7. I wish a dev could confirm this. I wouldn't have thought bluetooth mics would be a big thing. In my ignorance I assumed it would become your 'sound device' when paired and any app that attempted to record/capture audio would be re-routed to the bluetooth device. If it is a matter of apps being properly coded, maybe we'll have I dunno, 4 or 5 apps that work properly with bluetooth in a couple of years.
Yeah I'm being a little cynical but I was surprised how poor bluetooth support is when it doesn't seem to be the case on the bb/ipad side. The other disappointment with bluetooth is audio sync with gaming. So travelling and I feel like gaming I have to switch to a wired headset. I read it's an issue with bluetooth itself, but confirmed with a couple of friends the sync issue doesn't happen on playback or ipad.
Just to add it's not just gaming. Basically you'll only have audio sync with movies that are hardware decoded (e.g. when using google's movie player or youtube app), but try and play an xvid etc. So I think you'll find audio playback isn't flawless either.
Hello everyone !
My M8 went mad today. It recognizes all headphones/earphones except the stock one that came with the device. The stock one works perfectly fine with all the devices except my M8. That sounds really strange, but it did happen.
I googled some forums and found that soundabout app on the play store could solve this issue by routing the audio to headphone jack. It worked.
I was tinkering with the settings of the app. I routed the audio to the earpiece(top speaker) only.
I'm somewhat skeptical that the top speaker now has less volume compared to the bottom one, when playing music/videos.
Does this mean that I have a partly damaged speaker ?
Also, can tinkering the settings damage the hardware(speakers) in any case ?
Thank you for reading.

I think that the earpiece speaker is actually less powerful than the bottom speaker. I use SoundAbout myself as I have an issue with one of my friends old stereo's. The phone doesn't recognize that I have plugged in the aux cable but it only happens with that stereo. So I have to use the SoundAbout app to change the setting to Wired Headphones.
I'm not sure if tinkering setting can damage the speakers, but I have damaged the bottom speaker myself by flashing one of the first CM12 nightly's that came out. The speaker is quite easy to replace yourself and same goes for the earpiece.
Hello,
I have nexus 5 with stock 5.1.1 not rooted.
I started to use soundabout because my phone didn’t recognize AUX-IN from my car audio.
Everything was ok for long time till yesterday.
Now, after I will use soundabout I can’t hear any call conversation. I need to restart nexus.
I am wonder If someone know some similar program that I can test.
Regards from Poland
Hi!
Today I installed my brand new car audio system (JVC KD-R871BT) which should enable me to make phone calls via bluetooth.
I have made some test-calls.
Unfortunately the conversational partner doesn't hear my voice (he says I he can't barely hear me).
The microphone volume over bluetooth seems much to low.
I played around with my car audios settings (noice canceling, mic boost, etc...). But nothing made it better.:crying:
Is anybody else experiencing this issue too?
Do you know how I can fix this?
Everything else works really fine. I can hear the conversational partner very clearly and loud enouch. Also the music-streaming via bluetooth works very smoothly... just the microphone volume seems to be buggy.
Please help!

Hi!
Update: this seems to be a problem with HTC One M8.
Today I tested it with another phone and it worked.
Anybody else with the described problem?

I am having a defective peice of headsets which have a malfunctioning mic ,when I call someone they can't hear me cause the audio is been taken from the headset microphone. I used to use soundabout to trick my device into thinking that the headsets are headphones and hence use the device mic during calls. But on the op5t the app's keep crashing. Is there an alternative or a fix for my problem?
Hellow i have the same problem did you find any solution i tried to buy the pro version but it doesnt work.. please keep me in touch if you found the solution
thank you
