Poco M3 does not turn on anymore ( Solution / Fix ) - POCO M3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Problem with this phone the new update xiaomi original rom / kernel discharge battery to 0.00 V ( i measured it with multimeter ) and you cant charge phone and thats why you cant turn on this phone anymore .
But i found the fix
Steps :
1 . Just dissasembly the phone
2 . Remove the battery from motherboard
3 . From backside of motherboard remove metal plates from the chips the CPU heat that side for 2-3 minutes with hair dryer when you dont have heating gun ( I was inspired using hair dryer in times of iPhone 4S wifi / signal problem )
4 . Put every parts back with battery plugged on motherboard
5 . Put the charger to your Poco M3 and turn it on
6 . You are done let phone charge to 100 % and remove that crappy Xiaomi ROM named MIUI and install any rom what you like .
I know its stupid fix but its working . I dont know its permamently damaged IC charge chip / CPU chip because of kernel / rom new update but its works for me fine for now .
Update : you need change PMI632 902-00 chip and it will fix you this problem

so after doing this you can reboot or have it shutdown lets say using a custom rom?

Hi. I encountered this problem with my phone but I don’t have the skills and the equipment to disassemble my phone so I tried other solutions.
I wait for days until the battery is completely discharged. When I plug it to charge, the screen turns on again and it begins charging again, initially showing an empty battery icon. Before unplugging, I check the battery percentage. If it’s at 10%, I wait for the screen to turn off again and then unplug the charger. The screen turns on again and I press the power button and my phone is alive again. These specific steps are important as well as timing. I had failed a few times so I had to wait for the battery to discharge again to retry. Hope this helps someone else.
But I have another question and I hope it’s ok to ask here. Is this a hardware problem? I was thinking it was a software problem so I was planning to root my phone hoping to not encounter this problem of my phone suddenly not turning on.

TP2 won't boot or charge either!!

Hey guys, I got a real big problem.
I've got a Rhodium100, but it won't charge nor it'll boot.
When connected to original charger or pc the phone starts. Then I can see the HTC logo and it dies again. The battery seems to be totally dead
What I've triend so far:
1. Pulled out the battery
2. Multiple cabels for the charger
3. Soft reset
4. Hard reset (won't complete because the battery is dead)
5. Checked the on/off button (on top)
What else can I do to fix this problem? I'd like to try anything before sending the phone to HTC (did that 2 times before, but with other problems).
This is what happens: MOVIE
Thanks in advance

Buy a new battery and see if that helps. There are some cheap ones on ebay.
I just found another cable and it seems to be he's charging again. But after 5 hours of charging it's still on 40%.
When the battery-level is around 45% it goes downwards to around 38% and then to 45 again..
This is circulating..
How can this be?
You shouldn't let the battery completely die in the first place. A deep discharge of any Lithium Ion battery is not recommended because of this. If you've tried to do a hard reset and it did not complete, you may have destroyed the ROM image. If it doesn't turn back on, flash a stock ROM.
Always try to charge the device before it gets to 5% remaining battery. 10% is recommended, but 5% is the lowest the battery should ever be. Having a second battery is always a good idea. I have two of them and an external battery charger. This way, I can always have a battery able to charge without needing the device just in case something goes awry.
Make sure you do not turn the device on. Leave the battery in the device overnight on the charger without turning it on. If it still does not function after this, you might try purchasing another battery and charger.
If you have time left on your warranty, this is covered by it. Simply call your carrier or HTC and they will fix it for you. It's generally faster to go through your carrier if you have the option to do so.
Thanks for the tips. I followed them and it seems to be my phone is fully working again!
Nothing helps with TP2 reanimation

I have the same problem since august 2010. I've do the same as you flashing some ROM's also restoring original one(T-Mobile), buying new akku ang external charger- but nothing helps When I place battery in phone it switches on by self(seems like power button abridget but I've checked it with testing device), starting showing T-Mobile logo "Stick together" then shows windows logo then backlight fading then device restarts, so it happen infinite till battery fully goes empty. Now on phone is installed original ROM and I can't install any other- in bootloader I can install only SPL's, but other ROM's not installs (flashing process freezes on 0%). I haven't any ideas, somebody can help me? Thank you all.

It's a dead battery. If it powers on by itself, then you'll either want to get a new battery or an external battery charger. Make sure you're charging from the wall, and not a USB port.

Yes, I do as you suggest - bought new battery and wall charger, but no result. I doubt that new battery or charger is destroyed, but anything is possible... What actually kind of problem if phone couldn't do hard reset, not upgding ROM, also switches on when battery is placed into? 100% fault (discharged) battery?

I mentioned that you may need to charge the battery externally if it is powering on when you insert the battery. You'll either need a friend's phone to charge it, or buy an external charger. With the external charger, let it sit on the charger overnight, pop it in the phone, and then try again. If using an external charger does not work, then you may want to send the device in for repairs/replacement.

hi there! first of all i want to apologize as my english is not perfect.
now the story, i have this problem for 3 months now. nothing helps to permanently fix this. it started one day, my battery runned out while i was surfing internet, phone switched off as it does normally. i did put in on charger (original) but no charging light came on, i checked it after few hours but no light where there, phone was dead! i didnt worry to much and just left it there over night to charge, but in the morning i found that red light is still not on, not charged and completely dead. i did every method metioned on any forum- holding buttons, pulling sim out combination nothing helped!!!! my HOX is rooted with custom rom and latest HBOOT version. i were so dissapointed that my warranty is void. then i decided to take phone apart, take battery out and measure its voltage with multimeter, so i did that and battery was 3.18v. so i cut USB lead and charged battery up to around 3.8v that was wery tricky to do as HOX's battery have odd connector, after that i did put every thing together and phone turned ON, i did charge it normally to 100% which measures 4.2v in APP. calibrated battery by deleting batterystats.bin file. next day battery went flat, and exactly same thing happened again. it must be something wrong happening when phone swithing off by it self, it does not switching off completely that causing it not reacting to butttons. SO i think if i put in freezer for 10-15min it will kill the battery and cut power to phones PCB (eq = battery pull) because any button combo is not = battery pool. so i wrapped it in cling film to prevent condinsation and kept phone in freezer for 15min. do not attack me with commets like "cold temp killing LI-ion battery for ever" i dont care i dont want to hear any of these stuff i did what knowing that, cuz there is no real solution to this problem! it is sounds like crazy! i know! im am russian so im used to do crazy stuff ) after i took it from freezer my HOX felt like ice.. hooked up charger and WOALIA!!! red light started to blink = battery to low to swith on. after half an hour red light came on persistant and my phone swithed ON without problems. after few weeks i replaced battery with other one but no joy! still same thing, i used to do this for months because sometimes i wasnt able monitor battery and turn phone off manually before it reaches 1% charge. I did not experienced any battery life shortening (at least i didnt spot any serious life drops) I SUSPECT THIS IS SOFTWARE RELATED PROBLEM, SO PLEASE IF ANY DEVELOPER OR ANY ONE WHO IS KNOWS WHAT EXACTLY CAN CAUSE THIS, PLEASE LOOK AT THIS CASE. IT MIGHT BE A SOLUTION OTHER THAN MINE!! cuz in the end it sux putting ur phone to freezer
NOW - solution! kind off..
when u did my methot if it worked for you of coure.. you need APP from Playstore - LLAMA location profiles. in LLAMA app you can create action based on event. se lets make event BATTERY under x% and create action for that - POWER OFF PHONE! set delay for 2min so u can stop ongoing event once u on charger and ur battery is less set %. I did set it for 5% and 2 min delay just to be on safe side. once battery reaches 5% charge action is created after 2 min, and phone turns off. dont try to power it ON!!! if u did by accident, just turn it off once it booted! dont ask me for help using LLAMA it is not complicated as it looks, play aroud with charged battery, experiment. u can add additional actions like play sound + screen on+ vibrate+ power off. if that helped u press thanks button as this text took me whole hour to type
AND PLEASE SOMEONE SORT THIS! AS HTC ONE X' PCB NEED TO BE CUT FROM POWER TO RESET AND START CHARGING. I DO THAT BY DEPLEATING BATTERY CHARGE WHRE PCB CUTS OFF POWER. SUB-ZERO TEMP DOES THAT TO BATTERY, BUT WE NEED REAL SOLUTION!!
there is no button combination which eq.= battery pool (pcb reset)
thank you if read this til end

could you please tell me how did you charge the battery?
My one X surfers from this, if it runs down to zero, it refuses to start, I've found leaving it on charge a few days and booting into the bootloader then doing a restart from there, boots the phone back up. Not great, but it works actually doing it now, it's been dead a few months, and I need a backup phone as I'm about to try cm10.2,4.3 on my note2,so the hox is getting charged.
I always suspected clockwork mod as I have a similar issue, with my note2, if my note runs to zero, the charger light doesn't show, but Does charge as once booted light returns and percent shows. Also my note won't boot with the power button alone, I have to bootloader then restart. That why I thought it was a clockwork issue, bit the above poster was on stock.
Anyhow is there any updates to this thread or anyone know of a solution?
i've sent the device to htc maintenance and they told me that i have to replace the board for 270$ !
POWER button and VOLUMES button all down at once did it for me!!!!!! It works
Hey Guys!!!!!!!! Freezer for 10-15mins? Not for me thanks. For days my phone won't charge or power on. So i went for the hard reset/reboot method ( POWER button and VOLUMES button all down at once) did it for me. When you reach the Reset/Reboot mode be very careful not to choose Factory Reset mode because you will erase everything out of your phone. Choose the reboot mode and the phone should restart. And when my phone started again it was 80% charged. Just can't work out why it went dead. But hey it's alive and kicking now. Remember ( POWER button and VOLUMES button all down at once) did it for me!!!!!! It works

Red led of death

Hi all, my Nexus 5x wont charge but Red led is blinking and then nothing happens, I broke the originale LG type c cable and I left the phone discharged for 5-6 days until the new cable come, and now It wont boot nor charge with no cable or Wall charger combination, searched on web and found people saying to let It in charger overnight then try booting and similar things but nothing is working.
anyone here got this problem?:crying:
Hi, I had the same issue... and charging overnight will not fix your problem....
it happened 5/6 times to my phone, the only way to make it works, was to pull out- pull in the original charger, and after 10/20 times you do this, it will work again.
I bring it to LG assistance and they told me that sometimes, all the updates and the full memory (mine was not full, but 17gb over 32) made this. I didn't believe that, BUT an hard reset of the phone and it never happened again in 3 months
Hope it will work for you too

Thanks, I will try, but how much time do I have to wait before pulling out and pull in again the charger?
Can anyone help me please?
I had the same. I forget about phone and left it with TWRP running. It drained all my battery and phone wont turn at all. I had this same red LED, so i plugged phone to charger and after maybe 2 hours it turned back on (charging screen), wnother hour and my nexus was fully restored with full charge.
Also i recommend you to get original charger and original usbc cable. Also before it you can hold power button for 30 sec. In some Xperia phones even a few days can do a trick.
Finally understanded the problem Thanks to "Dusan Milanovic"
In my case it was:
- 50% Battery problem
- 50% Qualcomm Power IC Chip
How I solved it:
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERY DAMAGE YOU MAKE TO YOUR PHONE, HOUSE, GRANDMA.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Alluminium foil (biscuit metallic paper) not plastic
- Hairdryer (It seems stupid ahah)
- Chronometer
- Attention!
- A bit of patience
BATTERY PHASE
- Open the Phone and remove Fingerprint board.
- Remove the Battery.
- Put the battery on an universal charger.
(do this only if you are sure that the battery is discharged and don't want to charge)
Let it charge for an hour more and less.
POWER IC CHIP. PHASE
- Remove the metallic protection between the camera and the battery slot.
- Look for a black chip surrounded by little grey chips. (POWER IC)
- Protect everything in the motherboard with the Alluminium foil except for the black chip.
BE VERY CAREFUL, PROTECT EVERY SINGLE GREY CHIP NEAR THE POWER IC CHIP.
-Prepare the Chronometer 1 minute.
(NOT MORE THAN 2 MINUTES OR YOU MAY SERIOUSLY DAMAGE THE MOTHERBOARD)
-Use the Hairdryer to heat the POWER IC CHIP
(DO NOT USE HEATGUN). The chip needs to reach around 100°C
-After you heated the chip let it cool down for a minute or two
-Remount the metallic protection.
LAST PHASE
- Put the battery on the phone
- close everything
- Try to boot it
ALL DONE?:highfive:
POSSIBLE PROBLEMS
- always shows 100% battery. → buy a new battery( this one is Dead)
-Doesn't boot.↓
→Are you sure your battery is charged?
No: charge it externally (BE VERY CAREFUL THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS)
Yes: then try to heat again the POWER IC CHIP (2 MINUTES MAX)
→Still nothing?
- Buy a new Battery, this is the best choice.
- If even after you use the new Battery the Phone doesn't boot , just heat again that pain in the ass of a ic CHIP.

HARD RESET instructions or link you followd that worked drop below
I just had the same thing happen. Using the original charger I kept on charging then trying again and again. I would leave it overnight unplugged from the charger. I think the battery was draining due to screen not coming on but phone booting over and over. Finally after about 6 times, I saw a battery symbol, then pressing power it came on as if everything was just fine.
I found another way, though be careful. Repeatedly unplugging/replugging did not help. Disassembled phone (lots of guides), unplugged battery. Measured 2.96v - too low for lipo. Used lipo charger (100mah) to boost charge to 3.2v. Reassembled, and it charged OK.
Cause is probably voltage dropped below the low charge threshold for lipo charging cct onboard. Lipos are very tricky to charge - lots of papers on this. In theory Nexus should have shut itself down before voltage dropped that low - but it didn't. Design flaw.
i had red blinking but battery was empty.
since in bootloop it will not charge, after i repaired reflow and patched the boot
to 4 core it worked perfect.
so if someone comes here and wonders, it might not be the charging chip
just the battery empty

Besides it vibrates continuously every few (2-3) minutes (even without doing anything.).
I tried the following.
1). Charged overnight and tried on....Didnt work.
2). Opened the back panel and removed battery to mother board connection few times and connected back......it just vibrates . that's it
Pls help! Its out of warranty.

Let me know hoe it goes, because Im having the exact issue. I tried the steps from sukhwant717, but getting stopped at the step when it goes to the OS. Will keep my phone to charge for a few hours. I observe, that there is no heating up (battery), but will keep it for charging anyways.
Cheers

Thanks man....I did actually fix the phone...your awesome.....
It went something like this...
First phone refused to turn on....no charging light notification..it keeps vibrating.
Even @sukhwant717 method stopped at "os" thing.
After exhausting all option taken to a local service person who did something and told phones dead.
After coming home I have checked He RIPPED /SNAPPED ANTENNA cable.
I didn't bother much as phone was prononced dead!
After 30 to 40 days was casually reading @sukhwant717 thread and thought of trying again. I coonected charger and SUDDENLY I SAW ASUS BOOT SCREEN and phone was showing BATTERY WITH QUESTION MARK. I let it charge for sometime suddenly bootloader screen appeared but was not entering into recovery.(perhaps damaged bootloader , recovery).
Then I followed sukhwant717 method flashed bootloader and RAW image using ADB.
and phone RESURRECTED but with very low siganl.
It's due to RIPPED antenna cable.
And was getting good reception on 2nd SIM (perhaps uses different antenna/cable)
So I decided to order new Antenna Flex Cable but it's not available in India. So I went to ASUS SERVICE CENTER (near Brandfactory) in Hyderabad
and asked them the cost of Flex Cable, they said they won't sell spares...I have to RMA.
So I did and after two days I have received a call from them that "ITS FAULTY MOTHERBOARD" and will cost 11000 INR (USD 170, seriously ASUS),I said I rather want my phone in previous condition. I even told them to fix antenna cable ...I will manage.
They said their "TESTING SOFTWARE " failing device test even after connecting antenna cable.so they can't sell a part for a TEST FAILED device.
I told them it's because I had unlocked bootloader..the test is failing.they didn't have a clue abt bootloader unlcoking.
So again went to local market for the cable found A cable (though lil longer) and got it fixed for about 300INR ($5).
and got back the reception and typing with LTE connection on ZF2.
Thanks again @sukhwant717 ...
My observations: the issue could be due to
1) it's battery related issue (completely drained bir failed battery)
2) damaged bootloader
The people who have similar problem should leave the phone uncharged for 30 to 40 days even more and connect the charger and see if u see battery with ? Mark.
Or if new battery is available change battery and check....

if you need antenna cable i can send you. but before that. send me pics of motherboard where antenna connector sits. don't ever believe local and service center guys. they are dumb enough to ruin things.

I had a similar problem, phone suddenly powered itself off and started vibrating. With the phone off and connecting the charger it started to charge, but after a while it started vibrating and overheating. I did a factory reset but the problem persisted. I flashed the raw firmware and it behaved properly for a while, but a few days ago the phone died. It does not turn on, does not charge, screen never turns on, no notification light, no vibration. But if connected to the charger it gets hot.
Left the mobile alone and tried to plug in after 35 days, IT WORKED. At first nothing happened but left it in charge for few hours. Later the mobile came back to life when I tried to turn it on..... 3 days in and still working just like it used to.... will have to take care not to let the battery drain below 20%
I am having same issue .. did you get it resolved ? Any luck ?
hello i'm having the same problem
will this method ensure that my data won't be lost?

can you tell me a bit more? i've got the same problem, you didn't download any drivers and just left the phone alone?

Do I need to transplant my G3 motherboard to extract data?

My G3 (D855) is now not powering up at all. When I turn it on there is no reaction at all. I luckily have another "test" G3 and I have tested the battery on that phone. So I have 2 batteries and they are both fine. The only reaction that I am getting from my broken phone is that it does charge the battery. I only know this because I can measure the battery level in the test phone.
I need to extract some information from the phone. My test phone has no value so I thought about following some youtube videos and moving the broken phone motherboard into the test phone. Another option is to heat the motherboard in the oven.
I don't know if the problem is the motherboard or elsewhere.
Before it died completely, there were some problems. Here are the last reactions that I had from it:
The battery was at 70%. When I try to restart it after taking the battery out for 5 minutes nothing happens. Completely dead. But if I take the battery out for, say, 5 hours it displays the startup screen for about 10 seconds and then dies. Then immediately trying to restart it does not do anything. All of these tests were done with the charger connected and then with the charger disconnected. The charger made no difference, and it is a working charger.
So I would like some suggestions that might save me from changing the motherboard.

Changing your motherboard won't help because if you move the dead motherboard into your test phone, your test phone will be dead. The motherboard is your phone with a case on it. Only thing that might work is putting it in an oven.

Does that mean that even if there is a problem with the peripheral units or the power supply but the motherboard is good then the phone will always show some signs of life?
