lock screen problem in lineageos 18.1 - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hello,
i recently installed lineageos18.1 on my oneplus 3 but when ever it locks the screen it goes black and stays that way.
Its practical impossible to go out of the lockscreen. Sometimes it works by pushing a lot of buttons, but thats rare and no combination seems to work twice.
Does anyone know the issue? In oxygenos i had no problems. For now i disabled lockscreen but thats not a real solution. By pushing the right hardware button i active lockscreen and then i have to reboot the phone to get back in.
In lockscreen all buttons seem to work, it still viberats and the 2 lights below go white if i push to unlock the screen.
i tried swiching on and off the system profiles but no luck so far.
Thanx in advance!

[Q] Press and hold home screen icon problem

Hi xda-developers,
I'm having problem relocating and removing my home screen icons.
When I press and hold any icon, it would vibrate and then back to normal. It seems like I released it - but I'm not. I would say my press and hold won't "stick".
FYI, my firmware version is 2.1 update 1, systems version 2.51.0.
Please help me.
Screen protector solved the problem.
But it is clearly stated in user manual not to use screen protector.
I'm confused.
you used a screen protector and the problem went away??

i have the exact same problem. my firmware is also the same. i tried a hard reset the first time it happened and everything seems normal for a few days. but it came back again. i tried switching launchers and it seemed to cure the problem. the problem seems to come from the launcher pro launcher, stock blur weather widget, and perfect system monitor widget combo, not really sure though but still trying to figure it out. i tried go launcher but the problem still crops up. im on adw now and crossing my fingers.
Yes. I just use screen protector during boot up. After boot up, I can remove the screen protector without having the problem.
There's something weird happening during boot up, something like calibrating the screen or something.
Is this defective hardware or software?

Status Bar not expanding + Volume Buttons not working + Shutdown menu glitchy

I've got some big problems:
Since a full initial recovery (like a hard reset) over Samsung Kies (also tested with stock rom and Odin) and after the problems were still there i wiped everything over a a custom recovery and tried that procedures again, I've got the following symptoms:
- i cant swype down the status bar in all rotated screen directions. The touch panel is working in that area in other applications
- rotation animation is disabled
- volume buttons not longer controlling the volume and the volume control menu doesn't appear (volume buttons without reaction)
- the shutdown menu is looking glitchy (see screenshot) and yes and no buttons are changed (yes = no; no = yes)
- screen is shutting down when i move the device. i deactivated all special controls like smart stay, but problem is still there
everything else is working!
i also tried some custom roms, but the problems are still there.
is that problem known? any fix for that?
it doesnt matter if the device is rooted or not, the problems are always there.
i found the reason why that problems appears:
i disabled all movement-, eye- or other specialcontrols and that didn't work like i said in the fist post.
thats why i wondered so much about that problem.
i am using a book-cover and i throw the frontcover always in the back of the device to hold it in my hands or lay it down on a table.
now i noticed there is a magnet inside and if i flip it backside, the display is shutting down and the volume-controls are blocked. also the powerbutton will only show that glitchy construction as shown in the picture, not to forget about that the status bar will not expand and that the display is turning off when you move the tablet.
if i open the book cover, so that the magnet doesn't reach the sensitive area of the tablet (where the camera is and a little bit more down to the middle), everything is working like on the first day.
also shutdown menu is looking normal!
weird. i thought i could deactivate all that crappy functions. now i am forced to use the cover wide opened or as a stand. no chance to use it comfortable in a slimmer war to use it with my hands.
i removed the magnet now and fixed this problem one and for all.
so if anyone is experiencing that problem, remove your tablet from the cover and test again

Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 Screen Backlight Issue??

Good afternoon all, I'm wondering if anyone can help.
My Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 developed an issue with the screen (after travel - where it may have been knocked around a little)...
The tablet boots up fine and the screen appears to work normally.
However once the screen times out and switches off, or the screen is switched off by the power button, it is not possible to get the screen back on.
It appears that it's just the backlight that is not coming back on?.... as the screen responds to touch (you can here the pin code buttons being clicked).... but can't see anything at all on the screen.
Rebooting the tablet from here makes the screen come back on as normal - so as it works like this and just does not come back on after being 'on staandby' I thought it might be a software issue... I did a full factory reset but unfortunately the problem is still exactly the same.
I've had the tablet to bits to see if I could see any cables loose or anything - but everything looks ok - I think (Although it's the first time I've had one apart and wasn't 100% sure which cables were for the screen)
There was nothing obviously disconnected or loose.
Has anyone come across this fault before or can anyone provide any more guidance? Maybe a particular cable to check or how to check it?
Many Thanks,
Tom Leitch
I have the same issue, but I was able to fix it entering the factory mode and pressing the sleep button. That was possible using the calculator and entering (+30012012732+ and then entering *#0*# to get to test mode.
The problem now is that I'm using lineageOS so I don't know how to get to that menu or trigger that sleep button. Anyone?

Black screen with time and weirdly large notification list.

My girlfriend was trying to turn my alarm off and somehow it got stuck on a screen I had never seen before, all black with white time at the top and a list of the notifications that was oversized, I could scroll through them but not interact with them or turn off the alarm and I could not reset the device by just holding the power button it would turn the flashlight on. I'm running lineage OS the latest build for the 10.
I eventually got it restarted after the alarm stopped by holding every button
Does anyone know what that was?
Extreme power saving mode ?
I am facing same problem. When I first switch to 14.1 Lineage OS ; It was doing it when a new OS update was available , to recover , I had to reboot using power off and volume down, back and home button would flash 15 times , phone would reboot, and all would work correctly. Right after reboot I would see the update suggestion LOS. Clear all and phone would behave ok until same pattern happen. I finally decided to update to latest nightly. Which was at the time 14.1-20170706-NIGHTLY-pme changed the update setting to manual. It still does the same random black screen , showing bold white clock , bold white weather banner , I can see text message notification but no swipe works in anyway shape or form. Simply need to reboot with Power and volume down. Seen details about similar problem on reddit about nexus4 doing similar behavior.
No , because there is no way out other than holding power and volume down to recover the phone. Sometimes it goes to normal restart , sometimes it goes to bootloader.
Have you just tried flashing a different ROM?

Touchscreen Occasionally not responding

Greeting,
I have a weird issue where occasionally after I unlock my phone, my screen doesn't respond to touches.
The phone works and responds to physical button presses but not touch.
Not sure exactly when it started happening but I've noticed this since last week.
Any idea what might be causing this?
I'm running Android Pie 52.0.A.3.202.

Got the same issue on 52.0.A.8.50. Usually opening the app drawer then hitting back solves it - otherwise none of the virtual buttons work.
Searching the web it seems touch screen issues are pretty common on this phone. I'm a bit surprised there isn't more being said here about it. Some experience delayed response, dead areas and no response at all. I have all those issues. Yes I am on the latest firmware. I bought the phone used with a cracked screen. I checked it out and everything seemed fine. I didn't use the phone, just set it aside til replacement screen came. I should have used the phone to thoroughly check it out but didn't want to go through the set up process as I was thinking of B/L unlock and root. New screen came, put it on and seemed to be working fine then screen would be unresponsive. I did factory reset, software update, software repair, went into settings and made sure sure everything was good there, nothing helped. The center of the screen (it's low and a bit off center) is pretty much dead. To open launcher I have to touch and hold near the top of the display. Touch and hold apps is tricky. Usually the app just opens. When I do get it to hold, I can't drag it anywhere. Also, icons in the drop down menu cannot be rearranged or edited. I can swipe up/down, side to no problem. Whenever touch goes dead completely, the home, back and minimize buttons go grey. Tapping the power button gets them back functioning again. . Function test fail. Free draw lets me make a few seconds of scribbles then freezes. The x and rectangle block draw does the same. Tapping power button does nothing to unfreeze either. The color test pass even the block one where you toggle on/off sections of the screen in blocks. It's really weird. First impression would lead me to the screen but it really acts like a software issue. From what I've read so far this phone uses two different display drivers. I not seen anything on how to change that and it would more than likely mean B/L unlock and root, which I'm not against doing. I would just like to know definitively if it's hardware or software. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Maybe the Screen Connector wasn't 100% clean.
Or not only the screen is damaged.
I heard that the touch problems are mostly fixed with PIE. The closed source clearpad touch driver is..... Hoping Q gives us an further updated driver.
You still get sometimes ghost touches on higher workload or if the keyboard app is slow, but if you have dead spots the hardware sounds damaged.
