hey there. ive had my p6p for only a few weeks. battery life has been poor since i got it, but worse since the march update. i noticed when i look in settings under battery and battery usage and then past 24 hours i see mobile network usage at 70%. i haven't left my house in over a week and ive been on wifi the whole time. isn't that weird that the mobile network would be in use so much? i looked under network and the sim and by default roaming was toggled on. i turned that off and switched my preferred network to lte instead of 5g. a day later, still not left the house and i see mobile network at 54%, still high. i haven't even made one call on this phone in days. im on t-mobile if that matters and seem to have good reception in my home. any ideas or settings i could look at? thanks for any replies.
Go to developer settings and disable "Mobile data always on" option, as well as you can disable the 2g always on for emergency calls from the wifi&network settings. That helped me.

You're welcome
Dont know whats wrong with my p6p. Was one of the users who had zero problems since december, switched then to 12.1 beta. Now im on QPR 1.1 and since QPR 1.0 my battery drains like crazy, and even with the slightest of usage while using 4G/wifi it gets way hotter then before and you can see the battery % falling like a waterfall. Checked ofc all the settings, nothing changed. All apps are the same, nothing new. With Dec Firmware i was at ~50% at the end of the day, now im below 10%.
Im a die hard android boy, but for me thats crazy how unstable the whole "system" is. You change nothing app/usage wise, and you just loose nearly 40% of battery capacity.

I personally hate the battery life on this phone. I charged it to 85% earlier and was texting a buddy of mine for a bit, and my phone was super warm for no reason and I lost like 20% just from that. It doesn't make much sense to me how the power is bad that if I do light tasks it just goes to crap. I hope the next phone is better.
Personally, forget the Mobile Network standby figure is just misleading.
On the original firmware mine said 3-7% and I would charge to 80% and then 24 hours later would have around 30% left. By the February release the standby figure was showing 40% but battery life exactly the same. With the March release it is ready 50%+ but again the battery life is still pretty much the same (couple of % more but that is because I moved to a dual sim setup).
Don't disagree that some are having battery issues, but don't go chasing the Mobile Standby number as it is likely a complete red herring and your issue is elsewhere.
yeah i noticed that too. Im no way focused on that % mobile standby. Im feeling the noticable higher temp on the device.

There are reports that the older 5G modem is at least part of the problem, so I would not dismiss it. The fact that so many disable 5G, 2G, or other mobile services and report better battery life is kind of telling, too.
I think that the March drop has improved my battery life a bit, however. Not great, but it lasts through the day.
My battery life has definitely decreased since updating to march build. My usage hasn't changed, but before, I went to bed with ~15% left, now I often need to recharge at ~22:00 whenever I want to use my phone before sleep. Temps also seem to be slightly worse. I sometimes notice the phone getting warm, which did not happen before.
On a plus side, I have no more connection problems at home since updating to March build (I can get SMS/calls again in my home office), so that's a trade-off I am ok with, even though I don't like it.
mobile network is definitely my problem. since i stay home most days, working from home and not needing to go out, i turned on airplane mode and then enabled wifi and bt. i get calls from wifi thru tmobile and suddenly my battery life is great. 24 hours after charging with light use i had 89% battery remaining. i believe overnight i had lost 1%. i plan on leaving it in airplane mode till i go out. i get my notifications and calls and have great battery life this way.
I've noticed a steep decline in my battery life as well since the March update. Mobile network appears to be the culprit. Verizon user here, on an old GUDP.

I find it sad we have to go through such hoops to get our battery life adequate enough for our standards, when it should be this way out of the box. I hope the next pixel phone improves upon this, and if it does even in the smallest way I'll be sure to trade my device in.
I found the "issue" for my drain/heat problem:
I discovered yesterday evening, that i was enlisted in the play service beta program. Opted out of it, cleared cache/data too. Figured then out, that my gpay cards went missing, added them back in 5 mins, no prob. Then i saw, that all my "battery setting per app" where on "optimized", not on restrict. Today i unplugged at 08.30 and till now after a 20min call and twitter/instagram usage, im still at 96% with absolutey NO HEAT!
Config:
Play Services 21.24.23
Carrier Services 98.0.435052141
Play Store 29.8.13-21[0]
S3B1.220218.006
Hope, that this maybe help someone

Weirdly mine has noticeably got better, i am ending the day with 20 or 30% more battery left than i was before the march update.

As I posted in another thread:
I am lucky to even get 12 hours with minimal use. No calls, just some texting and maybe browsing my bank website. Screen is always the killer for me, even on 20% brightness. If I go lower the screen actually flickers.
I bought the red HTC Chichitech batteries and they didn't help me at all.
Tried overclocking module, didn't change much.
The only app that ever shows any significant battery use (over 5%) is Maps, when I use maps.

I am rooted, S-OFF, using the Sense Modaco ROM. Battery usage was no better with the Stock Bell Rom before rooting or S-OFF.
My main concern is the screen flickering at low brightness. it's as if it's unable to decide on a specific level of brightness and makes me question if it's actually saving any power.
I set my phone to Auto brightness and I am going to see if that is actually worse of if it's on par with 20%.
Ugh - just realized there is another thread pretty much all about this. I thought it was a different issue. Still, does anyone know if there is a better batch of phones or something? I have a FutureShop warranty so it'd be easy enough for me to replace if it will actually provide a solution
No-one has posted anything, to my knowledge, about a different batch of phones having better battery life. I would check out the other threads about battery life (including those on the G2 side too) and see if you can get yours to last better. But it could just be something faulty on your phone/battery.
Auto-brightness would make it even worse..because there is some type of bug or something that isn't making it function like it should. I was also getting terrible battery life until I followed some of these steps: http://www.goodandevo.net/2010/05/20-tips-to-improve-htc-evo-4g-battery-life.html
Biggest killers are any widgets that are constantly updating..or facebook/twitter apps that are constantly updating. As well..i recommend SetCPU to underclock your phone when your screen is turned off. This should also help with conserving battery life along with some of the steps provided in that link.

I am considering waiting a month or so and then having mine replaced. Unless I managed to figure something else out. My HTC Legend had better battery life.

The reason I want to try auto or higher brightness is to see if lowering it was actually saving me any battery life. I am curious if there's a driver or display issues that causes it to use the same amount regardless of the setting. So far I don't seem to be running out any faster @ auto than I was at 20%, but it hasn't been a long enough time to tell for sure.
Also I am unable to do the battery tip for the evo because once I turn off the phone and go to charge it again, it's instantly green. But I am going to try it anyway even though it's green.
Since writing the first post I used the OC module to get my phone to 1.2ghz. I have SetCPU set to run on boot with the onDemand setting. I have a profile that says to slow the CPU when the screen is off. From what I've read it doesn't make a ton of difference with this particular phone, but we'll see...

Yep, that's what I found too, when you try and charge it thinks it's already charged and goes green straight away again. But as you said, worth a try.
I just wanted to report back and say that I had my phone replaced. So far so good:
- No screen flicker issue at low brightness
- Battery has lasted nearly 20 hours with moderate-heavy use (played NFS Shift, setup basically everything on the phone after rooting, installed all my apps, backups, flashed some roms, 20+ texts, 3-4 short calls, showing people random apps.)
If it's not all in my head then this is definitely much better now!
Curious. It seems that everyone who reports the screen flickering problem has poor battery life.
Defective displays?
I feel my battery life is pretty bad as well. I've unplugged the phone this morning at 7 AM. Now it's 2 PM, and I'm at 37%. In between, the only things I've done are: send/receive a few emails and chat on gtalk. Brightness is at 40%, animations are turned off, wifi and gps location off. Using latest Cyanogenmod (6.1.1) and have no screen flicker issues
Edit: 17 minutes later, it's now at 27%
How long have you had the phone for?
Initially the first few days I got the phone, battery life was really bad, could drain in a few hours.
After a week or two of use, I now have reasonable battery life, the phone can last all day with light usage and still have lots of juice left. Actually I think if you make a few calls and a few txts, battery could last 2 days. If you play with it, one day for sure but you need to plug in over night.
(if you're talking to me) It's quite new, just picked it up on Friday actually. Also I've kept on researching, and it seems that poor coverage (like I have at work, from 7 til 3) tends to drain the battery even more, since the phone keeps switching between HSPA, 3G, etc.
I had my first one for about a month at least. This replacement was from Saturday.
Today I've had my phone unplugged since 8am, it's 5:30pm and I have 45% battery left, but the screen is the #2 user. Standby is #1 @ 40% of my battery usage, due to over 4 hours of time without a signal. The screen is only 24% and has been on for 48 minutes. Voice calls is #3 at 23% battery usage, with 23mins of calling.
My other phone would have died by now.
Also I spent an hour of streaming bluetooth audio to my car. Bluetooth doesn't even register on the battery usage. I've never seen it use more than 2% and it's always on. I am not sure why people say it uses a lot.
Just want to share my experience.
I too had poor battery life. Stock Bell ROM. Got to 3:00 pm and it used to die. Use this for work. Pushing data all day from Exchange server, bluetooth on all day because I'm in and out of the car, talk on average 30 minutes per day, texting, surfing, tethering, blah blah. Believe it or not, my old Omnia II would get me thru the day no problem.
I was also tempted to return it. But I decided to try a few things. Installed Set CPU and a task killer at the same time. Shut down as many tasks as possible on start up. Widgets and accounts, except Exchange-push, run and sync every hour. I get about 40% battery by dinner. I am happy now .
I'm quite happy with my Desire Z's battery life, It lasts for about 36 hours with moderate use. I have Juicedefender and Ultimatejuice installed, data or wifi are opened only when an app needs data connection, this increased my battery life by 10 hours or sth like that. Nice app.
I had terrible battery life until I went overseas. It is a stock Bell ROM, but I arrived in Spain Monday and am using a Spanish SIM card.
My battery life has increased from 14 hours with Bell's 3G signal to my current 27 hours and 35% remaining battery using GSM and WiFi always on. Funny thing is that no matter where I am it says the screen is by far my biggest power drain.
Where did you buy your Desire Z and how did you get it replaced? I'm with Bell and they would take mine to send out for "repair" but not sure if that will do anything. This will take 3-6 weeks apparently and I'm not sure if they it is worth it.
I'm running 10 hours with that I consider fair usage (few calls, text, map/gsp, and facebook.) My display is the highest battery usage at 60% and on for about 1:45h. I'm very disappointed.
Hey,
it's the same with my G2.
Max 24h.
I've standard ROM installed.
No WiFi.
Brightness to about 30%.
Juice Defender is installed and I'm surfing and just the regular stuff, but even if it's just in standby, it's taking a lot of power (display takes most)
Best!

I bought mine at FutureShop since I didn't think Bell would let me without buying at least a month of service (or being an existing customer). I also purchased FutureShop's extended warranty which is how I was able to get it swapped for a new one so quickly.
I use the extended battery for the evo. Lasts about 1.5 days with ass loads of use. Just have to trim the plastic edges a bit.

I have a couple of those red chichitech batteries but I wasn't able to notice any improvement with the problem phone.
My Desire Z also has a flickering screen at lowest brightness, and with moderate use it dies after about 12 hours max. Even on lowest brightness the screen ueses 59% battery. I rarely manage to make it through the day without having to charge the phone. Im on stock ROM with latest OTA (1.72) btw.
Gonna have it replaced next week just cause of the flickering screen. Has anyone tried the 1700mAH battery from seidio?
What's it like for you Sprint S6 owners?
I'm struggling here and my S5 was without a doubt wayyyy better... I'm starting to wonder if I have a defective battery to be honest. Averaging like 2 1/2-3 hrs SoT and 16 hrs total time on...
My girlfriend's S6 is going almost 3.5-4 hours SoT. I haven't checked her total time.
I believe she took an update when she first got the phone, she is on 5.0.2, OC9 build.
There is a software update available, but we are hesitant to take it, not knowing if:
1. It will make te batery life better or worse
2. will the tether without root continue to work
Have you taken the latest update?

Read around. There's plenty info out there. Battery discussion only plz n thanks.
I'm on my first day with it, but its definitely a improvement from the GS4 as of late atleast. Im at about 2 Hours screentime and 38% battery, first not even full charge, Started at like 82%.
I did a factory reset earlier in the week and that has seemed to help a TON. 4 hours of SOT and thats with extremely poor signal around home.
Battery is barely acceptable for me. My phone is not rooted. I average between 12-14 hours off charge and average around 3 hrs screen on time give or take a few minutes. I'm a heavy user and use my phone pretty much all day. Saving grace is it charges really fast. Thinking of rooting but not sure there's anything I can do to help the battery life
i have the s6. yeah battery life is poopy but its expected. im struggling cuz idk if i shud switch to the s6 edge. yeah those side displays r cool but im told if that thing drops the wrong way even with a protective case then its bye bye screen. oh decisions decisions
Battery life Here is actually not bad, especially after the Samsung Push update from the Play store. Many tech blogs wrote about this possibly helping the battery life on the S6. I just finished 1 day and 5 hours with 30 percent left, so for me that not bad at all.

Wasn't that high, just under 2hrs. But for me, that's normal..... And I'm totally cool with that. The battery life really ALmost pushed me to the Note 4, UT after all this, I'm here to stay
I am averaging 3 hours 50 mins SOT in my house on wifi all day. It seems to be getting better since the push update.
I've had great battery life with my regular s6 thus far. 30+ hours and 5.5 SOT average. Location off at home, bt off, wifi on, location history off, no samsung/google/sprint apps or features enabled (like s voice), auto brightness, black wallpaper, disabled samsung push, turned off LTE at home, only on CDMA, cant remember what else.
I've seen a lot of people on forums complain their battery for their s6 is bad, but I don't get it?
My battery sucks.. I have gps off, syncs to minimum, all notifications offs, and took the last Samsung update. Still battery life is not the best.
So far today gettings my best screen on time yet.
Sent from my SM-G920P using XDA Free mobile app
I wouldn't say my battery life is fantastic, but its certainly better than it was on my S5 when it was either stock or on CM.
I'm in Houston, so I generally have very good signal, but I use it a lot throughout the day. Bluetooth music to and from work, games during the day when I have downtime, some maps usage when I do mobile calls. I take it off the charger around 9am and get home around 630pm with anywhere between 40-60% left. That's with GPS always on (highest location settings), 3 gmails and Facebook synced, screen always on auto, Bluetooth always on and paired to my Moto 360.
Battery FIX:
1. Turn off WIFI calling.
2. Turn off Location History.
The above two changes doubled my battery life. Went from maybe 3 hours Sot and dead in 7 hours, to 5.5 SoT yesterday and still running after 16 hours usage. MAJOR difference. Any my screen stays at or near full brightness.

Automatic Brightness - On
NFC - off
Wifi Calling - off
Wifi always scanning off
Switched to CDMA only. I did have it on LTE for a little bit when I went to the grocery store.
Everything else is on
I am still really surprised at the change in the battery life from when I first got it because I could only get 2 hours SOT for like the first week.

I have dove way deeper into disabling things than just these items and today it looks like I'm going to get around 4 hrs of screen on time. But I've only had the phone for 6 days.
One quick question: In the time you've had it, have you factory reset the phone, rooted, or flashed firmware, or have you just stayed the course and let it settle in? It sounds like I may just need to let it settle before the awesome battery life starts happening.

I factory reset the phone after 3 days of owning it because my battery life was terrible. After I did that I was getting close to 3-3 1/2 hours SOT with the phone which was about what I was getting on my M8. Then all of a sudden it just started getting way better. It might of been that Samsung push update or maybe the battery just needed alot of time to break in. Also i'm not rooted and I haven't flashed any firmware.
When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the LG G5's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Standby Is Good - Unless
If I lose signal for a long period of time I will take a battery hit. Otherwise, no problem.

Sometimes, over the course of an hr, it won't even lose a percent! Amazing, even compared to the Note 3, which was awesome battery-wise!

my H860's standby drain is abysmal.. It drops 15+% overnight (about 6-7hrs). How are you getting such a good standby time? I disabled Facebook (which was installed as a system app for some reason) but even then the best I got was 9% overnight..
Same problem here. Battery drain while phone is idle is absolutely horrid. Can't for the life of me figure it out. Under settings in battery usage, the only 2 things I show with significant battery drain is screen on and phone idle.
Bad signal (1 bar or less) can severely affect idle battery drain. The always on display does take some battery. Try turning it off to see if it makes a difference.
Yeah where we live is great signaland one of the first things I did was turn off the always on feature. I still have the drain.

Was doing some digging on this exact issue. I was getting a ridiculous battery drain from phone idle, which I didn't have for the first week of owning the phone. For the life of me I could not figure out what I changed, but I think I may have found a solution. I have the AT&T H820 and it turns out other devices of the AT&T variant (galaxy s6) had terrible battery drain with Enhanced LTE selected. I have just disabled it and will report back in a day or two to report the results.

I have TMobile varient. Yesterday, I tried selecting 'Restrict background data' option (Settings > Mobile Data > Top right menu and select 'restrict background data' checkbox). So far its been better than yesterday.
I use Shutapp to end running apps and turn the phone over so the light sensor is covered and the always on display shuts off. Battery seems on par with my G3 which is the same size battery.
I have no stand by drain on my AT&T version. I have aod off and this is on my nightstand. So Wi-Fi enabled. Location and Bluetooth off. I charge to 100% then restart the phone and then unplug for the rest of the night. I will wake up anywhere from 6 to 10 hours later. Weekdays and weekends vary. But I will always wake up at either 99% or 100% my stand by works flawlessly. Just my process.
my colleague has this and his battery drains while on stand by. not the best!
Inconsistent but normally good
In the second and third days that I had this phone it seemed to lose 1 % per hour which I feel is pretty good considering I had always listening for "ok google" and the fingerprint scanner on. I have no sim in the device yet. The first night it went from 80 to 2% on standby though that could have been just because it was the first night. I don't have always on display on.
I have an international version (H860) on AT&T network for about a week now. AOD is off, Wi-Fi is on, GPS is on Battery Saving mode. Every night, the drain is about 20%. Battery usage shows Android OS and Phone Idle being the top 2 uses. I reset the phone once already. The phone is set up the same as my G4, same set of apps. The G4 has only about 1% drain overnight. Can this be a defective unit?

I've had the phone for about 2 weeks. The battery life is horrible. I leave the phone charging over night and sometimes it stops charging all together. Last night I went to bed with 100% charge. Left phone laying on night stand. Woke up to 70% battery after 8 hours of doing nothing. Mobile network standby used 42% of my battery drain. What is going on with this phone? Should I get a warranty claim replacement?
edit: 11/30 Turning off Adaptive battery and Adaptive charging helped. However, still getting a replacement phone. I get no signal pretty much any where. Thought maybe it was because Tmobile network. After a few days of troubleshooting the phone and getting new sim card and esim, I literally get 1mbps downloads if any connection at all. On Pixel Reddit many others are saying their P6P is getting no data, seems to be a modem issue?
Check in the settings if "adaptive charging" is enabled. I believe it is by default.
This feature attempts to sync up your overnight charge with the time you wake up.
If it's miscalculating when you wake up, it might not be charging enough. It should eventually learn when you do wake, assuming it's the same time, etc.
But you can just switch it off completely and allow the phone to charge as it normally would.
As far as mobile network standby goes, I'm not sure. I've noticed in the past this is usually because little to no cell service, so the phone is trying very hard to find a signal (boosting more power to that internal module) and thus draining battery more. Do you have poor service where you sleep?
Factory reset and when ask to transfer data from another phone. Don't. You may have a rogue app.
I also have a high usage on "Mobile Network Service" but doesn't seem to affect my battery much. My overnights drain on my P6P are 5% max.
Battery charging is slow but my P6P has phenomenal battery. Set it up from scratch like I always do with a new phone.
Battery charging is definitely slower than my Galaxy Note20 Ultra, but I like the adaptive charging at night. If you set an alarm, it will trickle charge and reach 100% just before. This will prolong battery life but I think the standard charge could be a bit faster. 65W like OnePlus probably does more harm than good in the long run but a true 30W shouldn't be an issue.
the latest update doesnt fix battery drain... update ending 037... although the fingerprint sensor is better
Not another nitpick on the Pixel thread. My battery life is good, nothing lasts forever.

Did you check whether you use adaptive charging?
It's designed to let the phone fully charge ONLY shortly before you wake up (set wakeup timer).
I mean, it never properly worked for me, but maybe it does for you. Lol.
My Battery life is fantastic! I have adaptive battery on. When it's at it takes about 20 min of hard use to even move from 100 to 99. I have no idea why yours does that but I'm beginning to think these are trolls because so far my p6 pro is a powerhouse. Works amazing. I love this phone. Every other dam post is complaint after complaint. Even crappy phones on other forums don't get this kind of grief. Google probably over hyped the phone and people are annoyed that they had to wait to get one or it's a massive drive by Samsung to tone down the sales of Google.......Too bad Samsung won't just allow bootloader unlock to be easy and painless. Otherwise I wouldn't BE Loving my p6 pro.....
As others have pointed out, adaptive charging is supposed to slow the charging down so it hits 100% within the hour of your alarm to wake up. You can actually see it say adaptive charging on the always on display at the bottom of it's engaged. But not hitting 100% isn't what it's supposed to do. What charger are you using with it?

That's not actually a good thing unless each point takes the same amount of usage. This actually suggests that the battery level is poorly calibrated.

People here asked you many questions to find out of it's a user mistake/problem, or if the phone is the rootcause of the issue.
You answered not one single question (as of now).
So it's fair to assume that you are a troll.

I'll try turning off adaptive battery and charging. I read some saying the adaptive battery isn't working right even after days of "calibrating." And the adaptive charging is new to me, turning that off also to test for a couple days.
I have tmobile and the entire area from my home to work is covered in 5G. Was working great on my S20+ for a couple days until I got the Pixel 6 Pro. I went to tmobile store yesterday. They gave me a new SIM and checked their system. I'm literally about 1000 feet from a 5G tower. They showed me a calendar supposedly they've been working in the area and having intermittent service issues, doesn't explain why I get no signal all day.
I've factory reset the phone and didn't copy over anything from my old phone, seeing if that will help.

I'm currently trying out Adaptive Battery off for the next week just to see if there's a noticeable difference. I'll be tracking it with AccuBattery Pro and took a screenshot of my a averages before turning it off.

I remember talks back in the days when it was introduced (Android Pie, Pixel 3 I think) and already then people claimed to improve their battery life by "turning that **** off" - it would be a bit devastating to know that Google still hasn't fixed that.

Wow it has been that long since it was first introduced. Time flies. Just on day one right now and I'm already seeing more screen off drain. Will see how every turns out next week.
Return it.
May be a battery failure in progress.
While many Androids can be battery hogs until they sorted out, all should charge normally with a known good brick and cable.

Hi. I'm typing this answer form my new P6P as Google decided to replace my old device. I set up my phone from scratch without transfering anything from old device AND THE ISSUE IS STILL THERE. Insanely high network standby battery drain +25% of the whole capacity. This is nuts. The employee told me specifically that I won't have this problem with my new device. I don't know what to do. I think I'll just return it and to for a different phone. Btw my partner has a non-pro P6 and he has exactly the same issue. Our sim cards are vodafone.de. Lost count how many hours I was trying to fix this problem. What a time waster.

Good luck, hopefully the factor reset fixes whatever was going haywire. Usually that does help people as a last resort effort
As the title says I'm having a problem with network standby battery drain. I've spent countless hours trying to solve this issue without any luck (factory restored 6 times or more, messed around with developer options settings, adaptive battery settings etc. etc.). After contacting Google support they offered me a replacement of my phone and told me that with the new one I won't have this problem. But its still there. Network standby battery drain is consuming 3 times more energy than the screen!!! This is nuts. I'm having enough.
I'm not the only one with this problem. There are many people reporting the same thing. My partner bought Non-Pro P6 and has the same issue. How can a phone for 999€ has such bugs? This is my first Pixel and I think I'm returning it. I'll contact Google support one last time to see if they have a fix.

I just checked my phone, and it says Mobile network standby: 8% (24 hours)
29% definitely feels too much. Can you give more information? Do you live in a 5G area? What's your connection quality? A bad connection can drain the battery faster, maybe you have an extremely weak 5G connection and your phone is draining itself?
The weaker the signal, the harder your phone will try to connect, meaning it will use more power.
Of course this shouldn't happen, even with a bad connection. ~30% battery drain in 24 hours because of STANDBY drain is a joke and terrible.

At work place I have 5g connection and at home it says 4g. The connection here is good. I tried disabling 5g but the outcome as always the same. Insanely high battery drain by network standby.
I get high standby drain in by basement with no service, about what you're experiencing with 30% or so. Otherwise it's more like 15%. It probably has to do with the older modem unfortunately.
If you can deal with waiting until you're awake to get push notifications, you can schedule airplane mode at night to save on battery drain. Hopefully it's a temp solution until they can figure out a way to fix it via OTA

Jeeesus. Part of me wonders if Google knew about this stuff and that's why they jammed a 5000mah battery in this thing. I've been debating dropping the 120hz screen down to 60hz to help offset this stuff, but unfortunately after using it, I'm spoiled. Plus there's discussion that there's problems with the implementation of 60hz frequency on top of it.
Really hoping custom kernels and roms can help eventually.
Just checked my batt stats and at 60% I have 3:11 SOT, with mobile network standby at 22%.
I regularly get 6 - 7 hours SOT by the time I hit 15-20% batt life remaining.
Seems like pretty good SOT to me.

Your SoT is definitely good enough, but damn man this standby drain is beyond good and evil. To lose roughly a fourth of the battery to a STANDBY drain in 24h is just, well, nuts.
Maybe just to make sure: We are not talking about active drain from using 4G/5G, yes? We are talking about STANDBY drain here in this thread? So we are talking about a phone merely getting a background connection IN CASE the user wants to activate mobile data?
It's clearly either a hardware issue or a software/android 12 bug.
There are also several people on the "official" Pixel community site talking about their P6 Pros and an insane battery drain caused by mobile network standby, one of the threads as an example:

Seems to be about what i got. I just realized it was 39% on my last charge cycle.
I was using dual sim though, one physical and one e-sim. The physical one is from my old country as i still only activate it for 2fa only (no roaming, no call, no nothing) and the e-sim is local where i live now (europe).
Im going to try and disable the physical sim when i sleep tonight, and see where it goes in the morning when i wake up. Currently i have 54% charge left, and mobile network standby is using 26% already. Geez. Im working from home so its pretty much all wifi.

Yes we are talking about standby network battery consumption. Imagine a phone for 999€ where standby network drain sucks 3 times more juice as the display. Pixel 6 Pro.
Regardless of network standby drain, or any other measurable metric, I find it hard to believe that 5-7 hr SOT isn't satisfactory batt life in the opinion of some.
Would these people be happier if network standby was super low but SOT was less that 7 hours?
I'm not sure why people get so bent about a device they can only use for 5-7 hours before they have to plug it in.
Are people really on their phone 80% of an 8 hour work day? Or are there that many people who don't have access to an outlet or car charger after they leave the house?
Is there some hidden shame to plugging a device in during lunch or a break to add 15% battery life for the longer 10 hr days?
I get those who are nerded out by squeezing absolutely every available SOT minute they can from their device because it's a challenge to them, and they love tweaking every possible component... I was that guy at one time.
To say that a device sucks and isn't worth the price voluntarily paid for it because it doesn't last an entire day without a charge just baffles my mind.
Of course every person is allowed their opinion, for sure. I just don't get the basis behind some of the opinions.

Just to be clear, the 22% network standby isn't 22% of total battery capacity, it is 22% of the 40% of battery capacity I've used.

Battery life is the most subjective topic there is. Take 100 different P6P owners and they'll use their devices 100 different ways. Half of them root, customize, use custom Roms or kernels, and run all sorts of mods.
Then they'll compare their devices battery life and wonder why such a vast difference.
Why do I find mine satisfactory even if someone else's device get better SOT or runs more efficiently?
Because my device's battery lasts much longer than I need it to, it shines in the areas I need it to shine, and I have plenty of access to outlets, a car charger, or a battery pack if needed.
I didn't buy a power supply, a TV , or a boom box... I bought an unlockable, rootable, customizable phone that more than suits my needs, and as an added benefit does a lot of other non-phone things that are cool and fun.
If the P6P isn't your cup of tea, get the device that lasts all day without needing to charge. If your stock device is performing below the level of other's stock devices, snd you usage is identical, I'd get a replacement. If your device is used differently, responds differently than other's whose devices are configured differently, you're basically comparing apples and oranges.
Not to mention these are highly sophisticated, intricately made, and technology packed very compact items. There are bound to be some that get past the QA process.

That's all irrelevant. I've been testing my pixel for a day in safe mode and the result was absolutely the same. The network standby was not dropping below 35%. I asked other users to test this too and they had it under 4%.
As I wrote this phone is already a replacement. It seems to be a lottery.
