Question March update, stay or? - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Should i stay on S2B3.220205.007.A1 or should I update to the march update. I am not having any problems other then battery life on LTE.

No issues on March update here. However I keep reading people say the vibration is a bit weaker. Personally I don't have a problem with the vibration at all

No issues on the March update for me either. Had good battery on Feb update and just as good or better on the Mar update.

No issues for me...100% stock.

For me the March update is perfect. This phone is finally what it should have been when it was first released. Everything works great, and that software experience is awesome.

The vibration has been smoothed out for calls and messages but left alone for other notification.

Any changes on the new update?

Thusfar I've noticed that the transition from landscape to portrait and vice versa seems a lot speedier and overall my signal strength seems to be better (though that could just be wishful thinking) aside from that I'm not seeing any definitive changes but then again I never really had the errors some people had. Are you noticing any positive changes with the latest update?
for all those that aren't aware of what this update is... it isn't the NoDo copy/paste update... but a prequal to it...

I'm aware thank you. However I'm not the only one mentioning slight performance upgrades and fixes.
I havent yet received the update, but concur many people are reporting better performance and stability throughout the system - especially marketplace.
Note that not once has any BUGFIX been mentioned in ANY update, including NoDo.
They only seem to be mentioning added features - so its very possible the update is chocked with bugfixes and driver updates.
Has anybody checked their Radio ROM versions before/after the update for example?
yea, i knew you were , just for those that weren't.
i haven't yet updated my phone cause i only found out about it as i was walking out the door this morning to work.
I was just about to say that... This preparation for the NoDo update might involve system stability improvements and enhancements, such as driver fixes and such which would result in a better experience... I would think at least.
I have updated my phone, it took about 5 minutes to update and i had no problems what so ever. There are no significant changes but i think the phone is slightly faster. Or so it seems :-D
I think this thread is seeing the placebo effect in full force.
Zero changes with my phone. The marketplace froze last night as usual. The transition to landscape/portrait actually seemed worse when I tried it right after. I believe if there were any performance changes, they would've said so, wouldn't they?
I think they just cut the carriers completely out with this update.
If they did, smart move.

I got em but then I'm all unbranded...
I don't see any performance difference on my LG.
Placebo effect or not, but I feel that there are slight optimization tweaks, especially during loading huge games like NFS Underground. Also, certain apps that seemed choppy (moBudget, WinMilk) seem pretty smooth now.
LG Optimus 7.

Nice to hear that, regarding moBudget there is an update improved for no-NoDo, so with NoDo should be even better.

Rollback to Marshmallow?

So, I suppose that many of you have heard of the infamous Nougat battery drain. I've been experiencing it ever since I upgraded to 7.0. It's not necessarily a big problem, since I can still get through a normal, full day of use.. but it's still very noticeable. From the more than 4 hours of SoT I used to get, I can now barely get more than two, normally even lower. I have no idea what the problem is, I've tried everything. And since I'm going to go on a trip soon, I'm really going to need a good battery life.
So, I was thinking about rolling it back to Marshmallow. I'm S-OFF, so I'll use a RUU.zip. Before doing that however, I would love to hear some opinions. Has anyone else given up on Nougat? Anyone who experienced the Nougat drain? And is the battery indeed better on MM?
We're on an outdated security patch anyway, July 2017 and we're already in October, but would returning to whatever security patch the last MM version had be dangerous?
Thanks in advance.

I have been on U.S Unlocked nougat since the initial release and I have no such problem. Battery ain't what it used to be but I always hit 4 hours sot.
You could try flashing a Sense-based custom rom like Viper or Leedroid first to see if there is an improvement.
Regarding security, based on all the people *****ing in the Updates thread I'm pretty sure your phone will immediately contract the Ebola virus after downgrading to MM. Either that, or you're probably fine with the "old" security patches on MM. Your choice to try though.
S-OFF, flash MM RUU

can this update be installed on rooted stock rom?
I think my network reception has gone bad after the update. I don't know for sure as it could be my network and I have already registered a complaint with them.
Anyone else having bad network reception after the August update?
Hey,
Is anyone having this weird problem where you have to plug in the cable twice into the phone to charge, cause first time it shows "CHARGING OVER USB"...and on the second try it's TURBOCHARGING..
After the August update... ??
What a useless update, they should have included October security patch

The October patches were not released until 4 days before this update was released.
No way they incorporated and tested a new build in 4 days.
If they just released the August patches, that's ~60 days to incorporate and test the changes.
Just be happy you got that. Some of us are still several months farther back.
If you want fast updates, unlock the bootloader and run a custom ROM that gets more frequent updates. (That was one of the reasons I chose this phone, but I have needed to do it yet)

Moto is no longer same now. Even Sony has started rolling Oreo for XZ series, our device is still struggling with Nougat.
And I have 4 Moto (2 are already rooted and on custom rom) only with hope of faster updates, but all that hope is lost now.

Since LOS 15 is testing I've not lost hope.
Still, I wouldn't complain too much about 60 days for a security patch. I think we wil see stock O before the year is done.
Then again, I still run KK on my phone (the Moto G5+ is my wife's).
Not received any update
What I have not received update since I bought new g5+ received today only but not any update. This phone is manufactured of 07/17
August build stock firmware for xt1686 (retin)
Can anyone give a link to download to August build full stock firmware thnk u.

No Android P DP4 Today?

It's still only 12:30 CST, but, I assumed DP4 would be released this week, namely today. It would keep with the timeline anyway. Anyone with prior experience with these releases have any input on the next one?

I'd say definitely. I haven't had a single crash outside of Magisk. The performance is snappy and battery life is totally fine. Back in DP2 any crashes I had we're usually fixed by clearing data, but DP3 has been perfect. Have fun!

DP 3 is pretty stable and can be a daily driver. DP 2 on the other hand may not be a daily driver.
No crashing over here but loss of LTE and dropped calls are definitely staples of dp3 if on T-Mobile
Well i don't consider dp3 daily driver material it is snappy and all but the battery life is just horrendous switched back to oreo i am using a pixel 2 64gb
DP3 has been fine for me. No show stopping bugs. My LTE and WiFi signals have been fine.

I hope you're right but something tells me it will be either tomorrow or Wednesday if it's not today.
On a side note, how do you guys update? I just like to boot twrp, wipe system data and then boot to bootloader, where I then flash the system image without the -w. This gives you a clean install while keeping your internal storage intact
I am on the most recent DP3 OTA and its working great on my VZW Pixel.
Luckily "The Pill" can be turned off, that thing is annoying. Despite the lacking stability, the XDA version is a better implementation from a functional standpoint.
Haven't found anything major enough to keep this from being a daily driver.
Customization is great but no UI Tuner... I am hoping for this in DP4. I want that fricken Alarm clock Icon out of my status bar. I already have to deal with a non-removable/hidable key, don't need an alarm icon now too.

DP3 daily driver on my Essential PH-1. No issues with LTE, VoLTE, battery life, etc. It's been perfect. Even got Substratum working (root is required, Magisk also working perfectly).
Been using DP3 since release. No issues period

Software Update Issue

I haven't been able to update my phone to the latest security update (April , 2022) it was 1051.54 MB
I believe I missed one ui 4.1 by not downloading it right away and now with Further security Updates I might have this issue
It's just an opinion I don't know what went wrong with my phone update
How can I manually Update my phone to one ui 4.1?
Rule #1 if your firmware is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission, let it be!
Upgrades can and do break things, you can upgrade at anytime but many times you can't do a rollback.
I have 2 stock N10+'s, one running on Android 10* and this one running on Pie. Its current load will be 2 yo this June, still snappy fast, very stable with minimal maintenance.
Security is not an issue.
*came loaded with 10 otherwise it still be on Pie

Check the Samsung forums, Reddit, etc and see how others who upgraded are doing. Ignore the glowing reviews from the mainstream reviewers, just more fake news.
In Android 12 cpu cycle sucking scoped storage is fully active. As far as I can tell there's no way to tone down it's annoying behaviors much or its running in the background as it's a core feature.
