About 6 months ago, rotation suggestions used to show up on the 2nd screen when in swivel mode. Now rotation suggestions do not show up anywhere in swivel mode no matter what. It used to work just fine, now it doesn't. Does it work for anyone else or was it broken by an update?

Recently, my screen rotation stopped working. If I select screen rotation from the drop down menu it would flip the phone into portrait mode. I wanted it to be locked in landscape mode instead. I don't know how it happened and I'm still on stock Rom but rooted. Any ideas how to fix it?

My compass acts oddly when my phone is in landscape orientation. It works fine in portrait orientation. If my phone is flat on a table (i.e., the screen is facing directly up), it's fine. As I rotate the phone vertically (with the power button facing away from me), it works up until the phone is about at a 45° angle from horizontal. Then the compass can sweep though an angle of about 180°. I see this behavior in GPS Status & Tools and with the blue arrow in Google Maps.
In portrait, everything is fine. I prefer to have my phone mounted in landscape when I'm in the car. This is when I need my directions to be correct, and this is precisely when they are not.
It seems that there's nothing telling the compass that the phone is in landscape orientation. I don't know if this is a hardware problem or an issue with CM11.
However, Google Sky works when the phone is in EITHER orientation. I have no way to explain that.
I cannot find anything or anybody else describing the same issue or any way to resolve it.
So Just got the 360 as a birthday present to myself. However I am having buyers remorse right now. I want to keep the screen on in ambient mode however it does not work. I have tried with it on and off to no avail. Screen just turns off after 5 seconds. Why is this not working? Am I missing something? I have searched Google for hours and found nothing. This is driving me mad. Also my wrist gesture do not work i was under he impression that when you bring the watch up to your face the screen will come on. Is it possible mine is just a dud?
Any thoughts on how to fix this, as well as any apps that may force screen to stay on?
Turning the wrist with the watch towards me in a single quick move is sufficient.
So the issue was a broken gyroscope or accelerometer. Returned to store for a new one and ambient works fine as does the raise to view time. If any noobies have this issue I would suggest returning for a new one.

I recently inherited a 21" Acer touchscreen LCD and thought I would look into whether it could act as a touchscreen-capable projection screen for my Pixel XL. After reading around a bit (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1294268) I figured it just might be possible to get it working by casting my screen to the display via Chromecast and simply connecting via USB between the phone and display.
Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it works. Sort of. The only problem is that the orientation of the external touchscreen points is off, no matter what orientation I put the phone in. It seems as though what might get it working is either an option on the Acer display to rotate into portrait mode or an option within the phone/Chromecast to force a fullscreen portrait mode. Neither of these things seems to exist.
Does anyone have experience working with an external touchscreen set up this way? If so, have you figured out how to get the external display's touch points synced properly with the phone's? Any help is appreciated!
So I have a very annoying issue and wondering if anyone else does. I have auto rotate on. If I am on a phone call and hang up it screws p the auto rotate feature and everything is sideways. Only way to fix is turn auto rotate off/on again.
Anyone else have this issue? I did update to the November OTA and still is there. About to factory reset unless someone else found a trick to fix it.

i have an auto rotate issue where if i use the phone in landscape mode for too long (1-2 minutes), the screen "snap" back to portrait and back to landscape. watching videos in landscape is annoying. recording in landscape will cause the video to stop recording when the snap occurs.
i use a third party app called "set orientation" to force it to landscape when i need to, and that solved my issue.
try this app and see if it works for you (it's free)

That's strange, I actually had an issue where I couldn't turn auto rotate off. Well, I could turn it off, but locking and unlocking the phone would turn it back on. Every single time. Until I installed the November OTA. Seems all better now.
My auto rotate shuts off by itself, have to switch back on frequently

I know this thread is a few months old but I have this exact problem on my Pixel 2 XL as well
