FP4 Custom rom questions - Fairphone

Hi people,
Just bought a FP4 and have some questions about custom rom :
-Is there a link to DL the stock rom ?
Need this before playing flashing
-Do you know if Los or /e/ os will make soon a rom for FP4 ?
-Can i use GSI Los image in the meantime (Andy's Los 18 for example) ? If so what are the steps for flashing? Do i need a twrp ? I already try flash the GSI system image but i have a partition error.
Thanks.

LOS team is working on it, as it seems
/e/OS team seems to be done with it, as the shipping of their Murena's FP4 started yesterday (01/10/22), but nothing on the installing of /e/OS on their website

The same person that shared with me the info on Discord has built it's own LOS 19 GSI, but he doesn't recommend to use it, cause you should build it for your own device. I'm gonna try to build one, with this tutorial

I never did it, so i'll see, if you want to try it too, you can x)
Also, no need of TWRP, maybe this tutorial could help you

An unofficial TWRP if avaliable on FP forums, so if you want to have a look to it, feel free to do it
I never tested it, i'll wait since a flashable stock ROM is uploaded

Thanks for the reply and help, its seems to be on very early dev. I guess i will wait for an official package from Eos, Los or Iodé. In the meantime just debloat the stock rom.
Have a good day.

Iodé is based on LOS, afaik, so I think nothing will come before LOS
But I never tried it and I think that could be interesting to test it
Have you ever tested it (on another phone)?

Good news Eos make it available since yesterday for FP4.
I'm in and works like a charm.

I just don't understand why won't they release device source trees on launch? And send some phones to lineageOS devs?
OnePlus does this and lineageOS is available at launch. FP seems to be becoming an iPhone.

I read on the Eos forum that the rom and instructions to flash Eos were put online at the same time that they ship the phone with the Eos system already installed (if you buy one directly form their shop). As a sync launch.
About Fairphone, they don't really want to put effort on dev Os. They tried by the past but seems to be hard to maintain. Some teams as Los or Eos did it on a full time job. Eos and Fairphone works together. Maybe Los and fairphone don't

Their problem is that they have priorities. We, custom ROM users, are a minor part of their users. So they do what they need to do first. That's it.

Unified or LVM compatibility in this firmware and I can't think of anything better. Great hardware only becomes great with the right software behind it and this exemplifies that.
Excitement!
I just flashed exodus 0622! So far the best custom rom I've ever run on my find 7a. Awaiting for good news bout battery life.
Recently the battery drain when idle is quite bad, 1% drops per hour overnight. I suspect it's the mobile radio active bug since I have my Wifi, Data, Location, Bluetooth, auto sync off. Used privacy guard to uncheck "wake up" and "keep awake" on google play services and whatsapp. Wakelock detector and BetterBatteryStats showed that my device is at completely 100% deep sleep. So I'm wondering what is the silent killer of the battery life.
I hope Team Exodus can keep an eye on it. I really appreciate it! I would give my donation sincerely to y'all if I got this solved.
Your rom rocks!
Updated OP!
Now exodus supports https://crowdin.com/project/exodus-rom
Let traslate this awesome rom in your native language!
thank you for this developement,
may i ask...i see nothing in the OP about unification or instructions on what to do if you use either @coldbird or @Entropy512 LVM unified rom methods...before flashng this rom...maye it would be a good idea to update the OP for future reference for other users benefit...plus i would love to know if you guys will be supporting either of these two methods in the future....
small issue: cannot seem to find an email when trying to add my hotmail account..? no personal imap..?
issue solved by installing Gmail app from store
would like to say KUDOS to the developer this rom is awesome stuff so far....and not a single BSOD to talk about either...loving everything about it...keep up the good work....also will this rom be posted over at oppo forums or just here
Following what mrsim said. I've done the LVM setup in accordance with this post and seem to have some problem with it (just tried flashing once though, gonna try more stuff later), after factory resetting Omnirom and flashing this Rom I get a message about my disc encryption having problems (never tried encrypting the disc), be aware

Yet another question. If this is somehow based on cm, what about BSODs? are they present in this rom?
Hello , can we get dt2sleep in homescreen , like namless Rom have it , it is a cool feature.
And will we get LVM support in oppo find 7 , it is possible trough evesiration /dev in oppoforum , or suraj das /maintainer in oppoforum , suraj das build a working LVM build with coldbirds Unification with the nameless dev help.
Please Exodus is better than nameless Rom when we get the 2 missing features that gives the Exodus Rom a perfect look.

Haha, I feel your pain. I had the exact same problem, except mine came with a whole other set of issuess on top. I finally figured out how to install it and besides a few bluetooth glitches it is working beautifully right now. I'm using it as my daily driver since I prefer it over colorOS. If you need a tutorial let me know, I might be able to help.

Of course. I'll make a mini tutorial, if it is not detailed enough or you have problems with something in it let me know.
Things you will need:
Oppo minimal fastboot tool
Original Oppo firmware 2.0.8i
Oppo OEM recovery file
Tk Gapps 5.1.1 "pico worked best for me"
Exodus rom
First of all, fully charge your phone. For those having encryption failed messages like I did and are locked out of their recovery like I was, I recommend starting from scratch. First, download the "minimal fastboot tool" from the Oppo froums. Just do a Google search and it will take you to the Oppo page with it. --(The following is only for those with a locked recovery) Put your phone on fastboot and enter this command on the SDK "fastboot OEM unlock" Now your recovery should be unlocked and you shoild be able to install one!-- Next, install the official Oppo find 7 recovery, even if you have access to twrp, you need the original recovery (at least I did). Find how to do this on the Oppo forums, under "installing OEM recovery" you will need the minimal fastboot tools for this as well. After that download the official Oppo firmware 2.0.8i and flash it using the OEM recovery. What I did next, is I unified the storage with this firmware, then returned it to LVM. Now install the newest twrp that supports lvm, and after that you should be able to flash exodus with no issues, followed by Gapps. Word of warning, I ended up having to use the pico tk gapps, the other ones were apparently too large. I worried about this, thinking the lvm storage issue would appear, fortunately it hasn't as of yet. Now, keep in mind this is how I got it running, but I'm yet to find out if the several partition storage issue will occur, as I mentioned, no problems yet. Enjoy, I'm not responsible if you mess up, so please be careful!

LineageOS is a free and open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers, based on the Android mobile platform.
This is an unofficial build of LineageOS for the Pixel 2 (walleye). I always liked Lineage (and its predecessor CyanogenMOD) as well as the Google line of phones. Unfortunately having a Google Pixel phone isn't certainty for a lot of custom ROMS anymore, so that's why I decided to compile my own version. It's been quite challeging, but I think I finally have a build that is good enough to share.
About
This ROM is is always built straight from the LineageOS sources found on https://github.com/lineageos. There are only 3 changes in order to get this build:
The binaries for this ROM come from AICP
GApps are compiled with the ROM from MindTheGapps including the Pixel specific bits for unlimited photo upload for instance
Disabled Android Verity Boot (AVB), so we don't get the security warning when booting
I am not a developer, I only build this ROM and it reflects the the current status. If there are any things missing or not working I suggest to contact the LineageOS team, they are the real geniuses here and deserve all the credits. I will try to keep this ROM updated on a regular basis.
First Installation
Installing the ROM can be a little hard, especially the first install. Upgrades will be relatively easy though. This first setup is only needed when coming from a different ROM then this. I can't support you if you did't follow this first installation. Be warned it will wipe your user data in the process
In order to get the initial setup and also to use the same vendor partition as the ROM you have to install the latest stock Pixel 2 image from Google found here. More info on unlocking your phone and installing the latest Pixel image can be found in the excellent post by @nathanchance found here. The bestway to flash a stock ROM in my opinion is @Deuces' script found here. The benefit of this is that it'll flash the image to both slots, so they are both on the latest build, including the bootloader and radio. All instructions for using the script are inside the forum. After flashing the image make sure you reboot at least once (no need to set it up now though).
Place the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip and root from (Magisk or from LineageOS (not tested) on the phone and reboot to recovery by using the command line (fastboot boot twrp.img)
Wipe 'data' and 'Dalvik / Art Cache' from TWRP - Wipe - Advanced Wipe. Optionally you should also delete the Android folder on your internal storage through the TWRP File Manager
Flash the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip and reboot the phone
Upgrades to new version
After the hard initial work to get the ROM installed it's going to be easy for upgrades to new versions.
Download the new ROM and reboot of flash to TWRP
Flash the new ROM and optionally TWRP. If you want to flash another kernel or a root solution you will have to reboot you phone, so it switches slots and let it boot normally. Then go back to recovery and flash in this order: TWRP - kernel - Magisk and reboot
After a monthly update from Google and only when LineageOS also adapted to the latest monthly sources (I will tell you this) you will have to do an extra step:
Download the latest Lineage OS ROM and place it on the internal storage
Download the latest image from the Google Factory Images site and run Deuces' script. No need to wipe your data!
After the script finishes it automatically boots into the bootloader. From here fastboot into TWRP and flash the previously downloaded new ROM, optionally followed by TWRP.
Optionally, after a reboot you can flash Magisk and/or another kernel.

I don't have a clue. It just seems that anyone who posts a ROM gets the thread closed. It's almost as if they don't want walleye to have any development.
Just check this forum out compared to the pixel XL 2 forum.
Thanks very much for sharing this. I've got it installed and it's running fantastic.
Everyone who has had a rom thread has closed the thread for different reasons, time, family, frustration or lack of support etc...
I see don't see why we should be negative and assumee the same is the case with this build. Every rom thread has produced better and more stable builds as time progressed.
@Joregen2009, I have seen your name around before, appreciate you building!!

It's my pleasure. I only wanted to share my build, because I know that many of you much be as frustrated as me for the lack of ROMs for our device.
We'll see how long this thread will hold. If it's up to me I'll try to provide at least a weekly build from the actual sources, or whenever there are some major changes in the sources that are important for our device until the Lineage Team declares our device official. Let's hope that happens soon and that this thread can contribute to that.
Awesome! Thanks for this ROM. Any known issues one should be aware of before flashing?
Does Lineage have Substratum support ?? Having trouble connecting......
Update. Found answer - : no substratum support
@jorgen2009
Hey thanks so much for the ROM. Its working great!
Is there any chance you could link me the kernel source for this specific build? (Pixel2)
I'm trying to figure out how to rebuild it with the drivers for my TP-LINK WN722N V1.
I really don't know what I'm doing but I'm trying to learn.
I'm trying to follow this guide to accomplish this.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338179
I do have Kali for Magisk up and running just fine.
Lsusb command shows my WiFi Adaptor but the kernel won't let me use it.
Thanks so much for reading, if what I'm trying to do is stupid feel free to let me know why haha. If I get it to work I'll share it with everyone.

Sure, see LineageOS sources on github, I didn't touch the kernel in this build:
https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_google_wahoo
I am still getting the security warning when booting. Am I the only one so I missed something?
Other question: is the Trusted Faces not working because the used GApps package has not been modified for the Pixel, or the ROM has got some incompatibility issue?
Great job. Just a little bug: Long press power button to turn on torch is not working when Ambient Display is set to always on.

Are you sure you are on the April vendor? Your vendor version must be the same as the ROM needs (currently the April one).
Trusted Faces is GApps related yes, it's not in MindTheGApps. I'll try to make a build with OpenGApps in to see if that works. Both Face Detection for Media and Face Unlock are in the Nano package (https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Nano-Package)

I'll put it in the known issues list in the OP later this week for an overview
Another build is up. This time I used OpenGapps so you might need to clear the Store cache. I had no problems upgrading myself. The Text-to-speech improved a lot with these Gapps for me.
New in this build is the LED light when charging and some basic stuff for more compatibility with our device and some networks. Also all the normal changes since the last build for LineageOS are in of course. For the download link see the OP. I also adjusted the OP a bit to show the things that are known not to work. Let me know if I missed something so I can adjust the list

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Install fresh 8.1 by updating ota without installing any 3rd apps and do full backup in twrp, you can get boot.img, system.img and others, that's how i got 8.0 boot.img and recovery.img. There are guides about that. That's my suggestion.

Thank you the ray of hope here! I guess it works just fine without GApps?
Is system.img & boot.img the only thing you need? Just for 8.1?
I will try to send it tonight (European time). I've got it for 8.0 and 8.1 I think. Where can I send it?

Sorry man, I had to take it down
I know it's early but installed 18.1 20220402-UNOFFICIAL. Tried installing open-gapps-arm64 pico but indicated not correct for device (using twrp 3.2.3-r1-athene-arm64). Tried open-gapps-arm pico. Booted ok but sluggish and rebooted a couple of times. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I believe I've done that and things remain slow and at some point freezes and reboots. To possibly help further, here is what I've done.
in twrp recovery, wipe > format data (and advanced wipe all partitions as well)
use adb sideload for lineage-18.1-20220402-UNOFFICIAL-athene.zip, wipe Davlik Cache, wipe Cache
use similar adb sideload for open_gapps-arm-11.0-pico-20220215.zip
reboot system
Goes through Google setup (sluggish). After going through setup, response continues sluggish overall (settings, etc.). Just doing something like change to dark mode in settings resulted in a freeze then reboot.
I've also installed just the rom without any gapps, rom works well, and is responsive as expected (I'm only using wifi so need for celluar functions).
Not sure if gapps is the cause or gapps with the rom (given it's work in progress).
In any case, happy to test out lineage 18.1 on this device as I'm merely playing around.
Other info:
Running to twrp 3.5.2_9-0 (3.2.3-r1-athene-arm64-rajatgupta-1998) (I was running ArrowOS before trying L18.1).
I run LineageOS on Samsung Note 3, Nexus 7 2013, and Samsung S5 so not new to roms but not claiming being an expert either (dangerous enough to bring newer life to older devices thanks to great devs)

Also the system partition is less for this device, so micro, nano, pico gapps can only be installed

I think it's an rom/device problem because i tried android 11 roms on an HTC One M8 and GApps were working perfectly, even on an beta OpenGApps version
Edit: i think for now you can use MicroG as an alternative for GApps to check if it works, use Nanodroid Patcher then Nanodroid MicroG
Edit 2: Use LiteGApps Go version
Well, it's so sad that there are no news about this rom, especially since one of the important developers did quit because he/she got his/her Telegram account reported
I want to know. Is there someone working on this rom nowadays? i want to know since i can know if i can wait or directly stop waiting and keep on my actual rom
Edit: What happened to the Testing Hub? as far as i know, there was even an android 12 beta.

Sadly, one of the developers that were working on this rom is out, got his/her Telegram account got reported by an Telegram group and got tired of things like that, the worst thing is that he/she was the one that was working really hard on porting android 11 and even trying to make android 12 work
I am not a very old member, only here from the OnePlus one days, but i have seen my fair share of abandonware. Give the man some rest, you can't keep a fish from the ocean, he's frustrated, that's all.

did you make lineage 19.1? I found a lineage 19.1 zip on sourceforge and I dont know how to install it because flashing with TWRP 3.6.1 doesn't work
Do I have to use adb and fastboot?
Does it need gapps or are they included like so many roms now?
Does it work or is it unstable and not useable?

Development [CLOSED] [PSYCHE] [UNOFFICIAL] ArrowOS 12.1 for Xiaomi 12X

<Moderator Edit>: Thread closed and all links removed due to non-working download links. @Jvlong2019 please Report the thread if you want the thread re-opened so that you can fix it.
It has been a long time since Xiaomi 12X been published, and now I'm very proud to say here that the first beta unofficial ArrowOS release Xiaomi 12X has been released.
Bugs:
Bluetooth audio
Fingerprint
DT2W (Partially works)
Something important to know:
Prebuilt Vendor
Permissive SELinux (will be enforcing in the future)
OSS kernel
Please use EEA, GLOBAL, CN MIUI 13.0.3 or 13.0.5 as base firmware and use fastboot enhance to flash it.
NOTICE: THIS IS THE FIRST BETA VERSION, AND NOT ADVISED FOR USING AS A DAILY DRIVER.
In our testers' test, it is much better than MIUI, both in performance and in battery life.
Download Link (Available in 7 days)
Made by me (jvlong2019)
I will edit this post if some bugs are fixed.
We did it boys, this guy manage to bring the first ever custom ROM for the 12X
Yes. My 12x is arriving next week. Can't wait for a stable release. Keep up the good work. It is appreciated.
Really great news. But BT audio and fingerprint are absolutely necessary. Does the implementation only take time or will this never be able?

At first I was building LineageOS, but I think It's unnecessary for me to build it because I'm not going to apply for LineageOS official builds.

If you run into issue the rom doesnt boot and formating data from recovery doesnt solve it, boot into normal fastboot mode and perform fastboot erase userdata and then fastboot reboot. This is what made my rom boot

yep. That's a good choice.
great news, I hope everything will be fine. I had a few questions, there was information that xiaomi releases the source code of kernels with problems or inability to compile it, there is no such problem with 12x? And is there a device in the hands of the developer or is it based on poco?
ps. Will there be any difficulties after the release of android 13? Does xiaomi post new kernel versions or something similar?
nice rom
im looking forward to fix bug(bt audio)

Xiaomi didn't release their android 12 kernel Code for this phone, only 11.
I made a post asking for it on the mi boards:

Unfortunately the community around this phone is not huge or active...
It is shame. I really like this phone and looking forward to a custom rom.

I'd like to suggest someplace different than WeTransfer due to the quickly expiring links. AFH (Android File Host) is free and has served me well for eight years or so. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM.
